Now lets put

LEN COLBY in the Way Back Machine and change his age. He is TEN its the late 1930s USA and he listening to the radio with his decoder ring.

He gets his message http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2012-03-07/news/31132123_1_israeli-embassy-israeli-diplomat-car-bombing

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The Press Trust of India cited unnamed sources accusing Kazmi of helping the attackers monitor the movements of diplomats at the Israeli embassy in New Delhi before the February 13 attack."

Citing anonymous sources is standard journalistic practice; one has to hope that the reporter and his/her editors are honest and exercising good judgment. Some of the most important stories have been broken by anonymous sources.

What is certain is that an Indian Shi’ite who has worked for 2 – 3 Iranian government news agencies with noted sympathy for Iran and antipathy for Israel, who visited Iran at least once, was arrested in connection with the attack. According to various unnamed police sources cited by various media outlets he confessed his role and visited and called Syria and Iran several times and the others involved are believed to be Iranian. According to “a top official” cited by the Times of India he was arrested on the basis info from the Thai. But to maintain his fantastical interpretation of events the media outlets and/or the police must all be lying. The only evidence for this is that what they are saying does conform to his predetermined beliefs.

He also ignores the evidence from Thailand indicating Iran was responsible, this is dismissed for the same reason; he already concluded Israel, not Iran is responsible – so any evidence indicating otherwise is a lie. It is now 17 and 21 days respectively since the Thais issued arrest warrants for and released the details (photos, return dates etc.) of Shayan and Rohani, and 2 -3 days since they announced they had formally requested extradition. But so far the Iranian government including its official news services have said nothing about them or publicly tried to find them, let alone offered any explanation for their and the other Iranians participation. Despite this and the fact these citizens and residents of an authoritarian country seem to have visited Thailand several times, Gaal’s faith they were NOT working for their government is unshakeable. The arrests earlier this year of:

- Iranians in Azerbaijan for planning to attack Israeli targets AND

- a Lebanese Shia in Bangkok who had a warehouse full explosives who according to the Bangkok Post, Stratfor, US and Israeli governments was a member of Iranian client Hezbollah

…are lies.

The announcements from various Iranian leaders including the Interior Minister and Supreme Leader that they would seek vengeance are a coincidence, ditto Islamic Iran’s history of killing dissidents overseas and assassination/attempted assassinations of Israeli and Saudi diplomats in Turkey.

COLBY AGAINST anonymous

========================================================

I’m sure they do at times but your link was to an anonymous article, with no citations on an obscure website. Based on the Wiki the case was an interesting one, all felony charges against Drake were eventually dropped and he pled to a misdemeanor. Tatum by contrast was convicted of several felony counts and had his conviction upheld on appeal. One of the judges was a liberal Carter appointee.

====================================================================================

Maybe Epstein in his notes says who told him that.

So do you not actually have the book or are you telling us he did not ID the officer in it? In the latter case “all we have is a vague paraphrasing of a single ANONYMOUS source”

=========================================================================================

Can you supply evidence in support of the underlined claim? Anonymous claims on obscure websites aren't evidence

===============================================================================================================.

Stranger Than Fiction is obviously anti-Semitic as well as anti-Zionist and despicably blamed Jews for the rise of Hitler and Holocaust etc. Yet that didn’t stop you from giving it your wholeheartedly endorsing it and reading it on air. Since the anonymous author cited virtually no sources one has to assume his claims coincided with your beliefs. Speaking of which you have yet to explain why you are “inclined to believe the numbers killed [in the Holocaust] have been exaggerated”

===============================================================================================

2) It is far from established he was responsible for the $100,000 wire transfer to Atta. Reports that he was all seem to stem from anonymous sources within the Indian government who had a vested interest in tainting the Pakistanis.

================================================================================================

LOL this from someone who reported the claim of an anonymous source as fact then refused to admit error when proven to be wrong. And yes I'm referring to your false claim that Zapruder worked at Nardis till 1959.

======================================================================================

Since "Trousher"'s claim that the Schofield was supposed to fly Kennedy is most certainly false there is no reason to believe the undocumented claims of the anonymous poster.

=======================================================================================================

As for the stuff from Wayne Madsen sorry I don’t find him credible all his stories come from supposedly anonymous sources and can’t be confirmed.

=======================================================================================================

So just why did Fetzer accept the undocumented claims of an anonymous author who can’t get his facts (or math) straight? My guess is that it is because “Pastore” touched on the good professor’s pre-existing prejudices.

===============================================================================

A briefer version of the chapters than the one he read is available on the link below. It is interesting to note that despite Fetzer's customary insistence that he depends on scholarship, facts, evidence etc he uncritically read and endorsed the claims of an anonymous author who didn't provide any evidence for the claims above other than the undocumented claims of Benjamin Freedman an elderly Jewish businessman who claims to have been at the Versailles peace talks. Freedman is probably the most popular Jew among anti-Semites.

==============================================================================

LOL,"exhaustive research"? "to confirm facts"? are you kidding! You didn’t cite a single source in your “paper” and were unable to cite any when asked other than a supposed anonymous source who you couldn’t even confirm was in a position to know what they claim and an unnamed “researcher”.

===============================================================================================

Supposedly used, your source was an anonymous hacker website which cited no sources. Since you like to speculate so much what do you imagine they used quinine for? Gin and tonics? what about the Manganese chloride?

================================================================================================

couldn’t agree more so far none of your links

1) cited sources other than anonymous Indian government officials that Ahmed order the money transfer OR

================================================================================================

Given the known animosity between the Indian and Pakistani intelligence such claims are suspect. How much credence would you put in claims from anonymous CIA officials that that the head of the KGB was responsible for some notorious act? In any case such articles* normally say the US forced his dismissal over this which contradicts your theory they were in cahoots.

=========================================================================================

According to an anonymous webpage “Douglas Bazata told the Washington Star that he was given $10,000 to “put him down”. He claims he did not assassinate Patton, but was told how it was done by a fellow spook credited for the deed. Polygraph tests taken by Bazata gave no evidence of lying.”

===============================================================================================

Even according to the Velvet Revolution site quoting the lawyer behind the suit he denied engaging electoral fraud under oath, so what indications are there other than anonymous hearsay that head been threatened or was going to make damaging admissions?

Sometime between 1836 and 1841 Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines.” Amazing one would think he’d met you! But I guess human nature, at least for those with ‘little minds’ has not changed much in two centuries. An article from a journalist working for a well-known publication citing named and unnamed sources is one thing “an anonymous article, with no citations on an obscure website” is something else entirely most of the other examples you cited variations of the latter. The only comparable examples were my comments about the supposed wire transfer to Atta, but even this is not the same:

1) Indian government officials had an obvious vested interest in implicating the ISI, Delhi police have no clear motive in implicating Iran.

2) Only one news source, the Times of India, indicated that “Senior government sources” said the head of the ISI sent the wire. By contrast several publications told the same story about what police sources said about Kazmi.

3) I never said it was not true that Ahmed sent the money only that it was “far from established”.

Speaking of hypocrisy, you continuously whine about rude behavior but routinely insult others frequently casting the first stone

What a bizarre strawman Evan made no reference to Hitchens nor have I seen any evidence he is as militantly atheist as the late author. I doubt your attacks on atheism will win you much sympathy here, my impression is the vast majority of posters here are atheist-agnostic. The only other members I remember indicating they are religious are John Dolva and Craig Lamson. Unlike you however they don’t continuously ram their beliefs down others’ throats, this is NOT a theology forum.

Now let’s see if you can address the issue of this thread (and the Noguchi one)

Arrest in bombing case prompts scrutiny in India

================oooo============================

By Mannika Chopra/CPJ India Consultant link http://cpj.org/blog/2012/03/journalists-arrest-in-bombing-prompts-scrutiny-in.php

------------------------------------------------

To many in the Indian media community, the arrest of independent journalist Syed Mohammad Kazmi by the Delhi police's Special Cell on March 6 for his alleged involvement in a bombing brings back troublesome memories.

The blast was that of a car belonging to an Israeli diplomat which local media reports have linked to Iran. While producing Kazmi before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, the public prosecutor said the bomb attack -- in which the wife of the Israeli defense attaché was seriously injured -- was a case of "international terrorism."

Many reporters say the accusations against Kazmi remind them of 2002, when Delhi-based Kashmiri journalist Iftikhar Gilani was arrested and charged with espionage under the Official Secrets Act. The son-in-law of a Kashmiri separatist leader, Gilani was in prison for seven months as anonymously sourced, fabricated stories appeared in the media supposedly confirming his guilt. Speaking to CPJ, Gilani recalled the experience: "It was a classic case of trial by the media. Mohammad Kazmi should not be executed by the media as happened in my case. Already the coverage of his arrest has been one-sided, and that is dangerous," he said. Ten years ago, with the tireless intervention of some media activists and friends, Gilani was eventually proved innocent and released.

Today, family, friends, media activists, and some political leaders came together to support Kazmi. In a chaotic outdoor press conference at the premises of the Press Club of India, speakers stressed Kazmi's professional credentials and the unlikelihood of his being involved in any terrorist activities. An independent, accredited journalist, they said, Kazmi has been working regularly for several Iranian media outlets, including the Iranian News Agency, IRNA; India's state broadcaster Doordarshan; the BBC; and has contributed columns to several Urdu publications. He also runs a small Urdu news agency, Media Star.

S.K. Pandey, general secretary of the Delhi Union of Journalists, the largest body of journalists in the country, said Kazmi was a journalist with "impeccable credentials." "I have received more than 60 calls from journalists vouching for his integrity," he told the press conference. Earlier, the Union issued a statement saying Kazmi should not be victimized simply because he worked for Iranian media outlets and for his professional contacts. "Possibly Kazmi's close association with Iran media outlets is being used by the police to implicate him," Pandey said.

Columnist and broadcaster Saeed Naqvi, who worked closely with Kazmi when he reported on the Iraq war, said he was an "honored and honest friend." "With his knowledge of Persian, Arabic, Urdu, English, he was in demand as an interpreter and for international journalistic assignments. Sadly, what was considered to professional advantage is now turning out to be a disadvantage," Naqvi said.

In an emotional speech, Kazmi's son Shauzab called him a "national hero" and "one of the few Indian journalists who tirelessly covered the Iraq war in 2003." It was on Tuesday that the police picked up Kazmi as he was leaving Delhi's India Islamic Centre, and arrested him under provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. Shauzab said that although police took Kazmi to the police station in the morning, they only informed his family of his whereabouts that evening when they came to his home in BK Dutt Colony to take away his desktop computer, laptop, passport, and other documents.

The Times of India suggested that Kazmi was helping the bomber, who it said has since has left for Malaysia, by carrying out surveillance missions on the Israeli embassy and by keeping track of the movements of Israeli diplomats, eventually leading to the attack on February 13. Kazmi is being kept in police custody for 20 days.

The Delhi Union of Journalists said it will appeal to the Delhi Commissioner of Police and the Press Council of India to press for bail for Kazmi and to ensure that fair scrutiny takes place. Pandey told CPJ: "We are not here to hamper any investigation. But enquiries should be thorough and the process transparent. If there is any evidence, he should be charged. Why keep him in prison without for 20 days, especially as he is cooperating with the investigation?"

Mannika Chopra, CPJ’s India consultant, is based in New Delhi. She is a media columnist and contributes to The Tribune, Hindustan and The Statesman. She is also involved in setting up women media collectives and mentors international journalism students visiting India.

- On the mission and concept of roles of gatekeepers in intelligence organizations: The case of the Israeli Security Agency - Relevance: 1001

Intelligence organizations such as the Israeli Security Agency (Shabak/ ISA), The Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations (the Mossad), intelligence units in the IDF (AMAN) and in the Israel Police and their likes, are characterised by the special nature of their operations, which cast a heavy burden of responsibility on the shoulders of those in charge of them, accompanied by the challenge to sustain the whole spectrum of their activities within the frames of the law, integrity and subject to proper administration rules. This challenge is especially prominent in matters related to foiling - predictive - activities, which by their nature depend deeply on assessment of reality which did not occur yet, and sometimes involve violation of human rights and characterised by careful threading upon and problematic proximity to the boundaries of lawfulness.

This document, dealing with the roles of the gatekeepers - internal auditor and legal advisor - attempts to describe the aforementioned problematicalness and mechanisms to cope with it. The subject of the detailed analysis is the Israeli Security Agency, the author comes from, but it also offers inspiration and directions of thought to those engaged in the efforts of the intelligence organizations through special emphasis on their foiling activity.

You are asking me to prove an obviously impossible to prove negative. Do you have any evidence I did? Even IF I did how would that undermine the rest of the evidence I’ve posted? Why do you keep wanting to make threads about me rather than the issues.

And yes the chairman of the think tank Karmon works for was Mossad director about 20 years ago. and speaking of being "full of it", when are you going to come clean about what the people you contacted about Noguchi told you?

Why keep him in prison without for 20 days, especially as he is cooperating with the investigation?

What a dumb question, in the US as in most countries, police try to hold on to people suspected of committing violent crimes as long as possible, especially for:

  • terrorism offences
  • high profile cases
  • people with overseas contacts
  • people who can implicate co-conspirators

In any case according to one news report: “Police said after his arrest Kazmi had become “reticent” and was not cooperating with the investigators.”

1) Just because Indian police charged an innocent journalist in 2002 doesn’t mean they are doing so again 10 years later.

2) I could not find many contemporaneous reports of the Gilani case, the 1st after his arrest I found was from June 22, 2002, 13 days after his arrest. Though it appeared in the Hong Kong based Asia Times it was written by an Indian journalist reporting from New Delhi: "Gilani is in jail for violating the Official Secrets Act: his computer hard disk had on it a seven-year-old document downloaded from the Internet detailing India's armed manpower and hardware capacity. No one has been able to answer since when have the Pakistan government's publications become India's official secrets.”

http://www.atimes.com/ind-pak/DF22Df05.html

The next was from Indian Express, Posted: Jul 13, 2002 at 0000 hrs

The Official Secrets Act case against Kashmiri journalist Iftikhar Gilani is coming unstuck with evidence that what the Delhi Police called a ‘‘highly sensitive’’ document is nothing more than an excerpt from a widely circulated Pak think-tank publication… First reported by The Indian Express, the 12-page document for which Gilani was booked under the Secrets Act, is part of the Islamabad Paper Series published by the Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad, in January 1996 and authored by one Nazir Kamal.

http://www.indianexpress.com/oldStory/5921/

So it seems the Express reported this within days of his arrest

S.K. Pandey, general secretary of the Delhi Union of Journalists, the largest body of journalists in the country, said Kazmi was a journalist with "impeccable credentials." "I have received more than 60 calls from journalists vouching for his integrity," he told the press conference.

No one said he lacked integrity.

So, why did you start a new thread when there already is one on this topic? The only reason makes sense to me is that you want to avoid information contradicting your theory on the other.

From the India Bombing thread:

Central agencies help Indian Police.....MOSSAD. Tens upon tens upon tens of million of cell phones...and yet the MOSSAD happen to be monitoring the bombers ...??? .... see Abhishek Bhalla article below.

Sorry Charlie nothing along those lines in the Bhalla article. I assume you were referring to this:

Although there is no official word it is believed that Israeli agencies had passed on certain inputs to their Indian counterparts that was further provided to Delhi police. In muted voices officials admit that information on suspects has been coming from central agencies. “There was a phone number of a suspect given by central agencies to us. It was immediately put on surveillance. It was not Kazmi’s. He was in constant touch with the suspect but we were unable to zero down on it,” said a source.

1) It doesn’t sound like the source told him the “phone number” came from the Israelis

2) There was no indication whichever intel. agency gave them the number was monitoring it, let alone that they got the number by chance

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Nearly two weeks before the bombing, Israel acted to ensure that Indians would assume that a terrorist attack in Delhi on that date had been carried out by Iran. A letter to the Delhi police on February 1 signed by the Israeli Deputy Chief of Mission in Delhi and the First Secretary responsible for security expressed concern that Iran and Hezbollah would take revenge on the anniversary of the Mugniyeh assassination by carrying out terrorist actions against Israelis. It also referred to the possibility of Iranian revenge for the assassination of the Iranian nuclear scientist Mustafa Ahmadi Roshan on January 11

=============================================

This was already addressed on this thread, see what I mean you avoid info. from the other thread.

Syed Kazmi arrest raises questions on authenticity of probe

Delhi police have so far not revealed any substantive evidence. All they have is a theory

Except that nothing in the article substantiated this claim.

After speaking to the family and friends of the arrested journalist and analysing the court documents, Tehelka has found that the police have so far not revealed any substantive evidence against Kazmi. All they have is a theory.

In other words suspect’s “family and friends” say he’s innocent and day’s after his arrest the police have not made all their evidence public. In other headlines: ‘Temperatures In Antarctica Are Below Freezing’, ‘Republican Politicians Criticize Obama’. Police claim he was in contact with a previously identified suspect and admitted his role.

The police have claimed that the two-wheeler found at his residence (it has a Haryana registration number) was used by the bombers (whose identity the police have not revealed) to carry out a recce of the Israeli embassy. However, Kazmi’s family claims that the scooty that is being called a break-through recovery has been parked at their residence for the last 2 years. “We have never used this scooty. It belongs to my uncle who purchased it when he visited Delhi two years back for his treatment at AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences),” said Shauzab Kazmi (23), son of the arrested journalist. Breaking down, Shauzab also denied that an Iranian or a citizen of any other nationality had ever visited or stayed with the family. The police claim that Kazmi had sheltered the bomber at his house.

OMG his family say he is innocent and contradict the claims of the police! He must have been framed! It simply isn’t possible someone would ‘bend the truth’ to protect their father. Notably the police did not say the ‘two-wheeler’ was purchased for the operation. Who are the “we” his son was referring to? The Times of India reported that:

While his two sons maintain that the moped allegedly used to do a recce of the crime spot belonged to one of their uncles in Meerut and had not been used for two years, a distant cousin, Ali, said it was being used by an Iranian national a few months ago. He later retracted from his statement saying he was confused.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/delhi/Israel-embassy-car-attack-Kazmi-honest-but-few-vouch-for-his-innocence/articleshow/12204231.cms

It is also possible Kazmi did his “recce” when his son’s weren’t home.

Also the moped “has a Haryana registration number plate”. Haryana is a state west of New Delhi and is even further from Meerut were Kazmi was born and the uncle lived.

http://www.expressindia.com/latest-news/scooty-found-at-kazmi-house-is-focus-of-police-probe/921968/

"But where is the money which Kazmi got? What was the sum promised? All that the police have recovered from his house is 1254 dollars. Certainly, we are not expected to believe that Kazmi agreed to be part of a terror plot for mere 1254 dollars?"

$1254 obviously goes a lot further in India than in more developed countries. In 2010-11 Per capita income in the country was Rs 53,331/year, which comes out to $ 1,069.76 at current exchange rates. Now obviously a journalist with university degrees living in Delhi would be making more that the average Indian but is seems like this was a generous amount of cash. In any case he might not have received all the money and there is the obvious possibility he put some money in the bank.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/Per-capita-income-crosses-Rs-50000/articleshow/11707030.cms

“…He has also reported on Syria in recent times where he has debunked western position on protests in that country,”

In other words he was such a pro-Iranian ideologue he is an apologist for the murderous Assad regime.

"“In his writings he was anti-Zionist, anti-Israel but never anti-Jewish… He had has biases and strong opinions as a journalist but he hardly showed any signs of jingoism,” added Naqvi."

Yet another source confirmed he was very pro-Iran and anti-Israel. According to the ToI (same link as above) “Kazmi… is known for his extreme and radical views on the Palestine-Israel conflict.”

Best EXPLANATION....they are the ALPHA and OMEGA of the three bombings they BLAME on Iran. "QUI BONO the bombings ?",why Israel of course. To say it poetically,"The false flag rises above Israel". CASE CLOSED.

So according to one new site “sources say the operations to get Kazmi involved Research and Analysis Wing, India's external intelligence agency with support from the Israeli Mossad” and another

These claims are not contradictory; it would not be surprising that the Indians got intel. from Israel AND Thailand and possibly even other countries (Malaysia, Azerbaijan, the US etc.). Your source didn’t even say explicitly that Kazmi was arrested based on Israeli intel. let alone that they didn’t develop their own evidence of hi guilt. Nor if true would this contradict reports from various sources that Kazmi admitted his participation. According to the Tribune of India “Kazmi… was arrested after his number was traced to the mobile phone of Saeid Moradi, who was the alleged bomber in the failed terrorist attack in Bangkok on February 14, said an official”

Yet another source confirmed he was very pro-Iran and anti-Israel. According to the ToI (same link as above) “Kazmi… is known for his extreme and radical views on the Palestine-Israel conflict.”
