GEORGE ALEXANDROVITCH BOUHE

Recommended Posts

Jim,

I can't offer much at all here except to say that Bouhe came to the United States in 1924. He was an accountant and was associated with a cotton broker named Nicholas Billo who was part of the Dallas Cotton Exchange. Bouhe had done some work for him and his associates.

Billo was well known by both Bouhe and George de Mohrenschildt.

Sidebar: Bouhe lived in an apartment located at 4740 Homer. Jack Ruby had lived at 4749 Homer. I'm not sure what that means but curious none-the-less.

Bouhe below.

A few, perhaps, unimportant, points:

1. Bouhe worked, as a young Russian, with the Hoover Relief program and befriend several administrators from that program.

2. When Bouhe "escaped" the Soviet Union he did so via Finland (see my thread on Stella Polaris)

3. On October 7th 1962, apparently with Bouhe present, Lee Harvey Oswald announced that he had been fired from his job (which he had not been) and that he was moving to Dallas. October 7th was also the day that Edwin Walker, reported on national television news, returned to Dallas after the riots at "Ole Miss."

4. This would probably have been Oswalds first opportunity to see Walker's face since his return to the United States from the Soviet Union. (Remember that I believe Walker may have helped Oswald into the Soviet Union on October 9, 1959)

5. Upon his move to Dallas, Oswald was in constant contact with Bouhe for at least the first few weeks.

6. Oswald, according to the Warren Report, begins setting up a secrete mail box, establishes an alias and orders and receives a rifle while beginning to "hunt" Walker.

I must admit that I find it unusual that Oswald decided to give up a good job that he was having success with to move to Dallas on the first day that he may have seen the face of Edwin Walker and learned of who he was via the TV News.

If I am correct and it was Walker who had helped the idealistic former Marine, radar operator (U-2 base), socialist Oswald gain entry into the Soviet Union from the only Russian Embassy in the world that could grant immediate access, one could imagine Oswald's shock and anger at realizing that he may have been dupted by the Right Wing to provide information to the Soviets that would help to down a U-2 and foil the opportunity for a successful Paris Summit, (as Oswald spoke about later during his speech at Spring Hill College).

According to the Warren Report Bouhe did not like Oswald and tried to get Marina to leave him but the fact remains that when Oswald went to Dallas there were numerous phone calls between Oswald and Bouhe. These calls, according to Bough, amounted to nothing but taunts by Oswald about how well he was doing without him. Bough is also the man who intoduced Oswald to de Mohrenschildts, who would remain in contact with Oswald for the remainder of the time until the Kennedy assassination. De mohrenschildts would suspect that it was Oswald who had shot at Walker and would be presented with a backyard photo with the inscription of something like, "hunter of Nazi's"

Could Bouhe have been Oswald's contact and financial backer at this time?

One additional curious fact. The Walker family was also engaged in the Texas Cotton trade.

Bouhe was originally from Lenningrad, and questioned Marina about his old stomping ground.

1. Bouhe worked, as a young Russian, with the Hoover Relief program and befriend several administrators from that program.

Is this Hoover Relief program affiliated with the Stanford Hoover Institute, where George's brother Sergi DeMohrenschildt worked?

2. When Bouhe "escaped" the Soviet Union he did so via Finland (see my thread on Stella Polaris)

The Helsinki window to USSR was not well known and Snyder's deputy said it was his opinion LHO was instructed by someone to go that way. I also think that the last missing link in the San Diego-New Orleans-France-England-Finland connection - was use of a Military Air Transport MAT - flight from England to Helsinki, which LHO acomplished by flying standby with military ID.

Settling in with the Texas White Russian Community upon their return to USA, Bouhe was described as being an accountant (who worked for McNaughton?) who "kept the files" on the Dallas White Russians. Bouhe paid for Marina's dental work at Baylor Med. (The dentist who performed these tasks for Bouhe is still living), and provided other basic necessities for the Oswald family.

A similar situation is the defection of Stalin's daughter Svetlana, who was lodged in the New York home of Priscilla Johnson (McMillan).

The Bouhe-DeMorn connection to Oswald, via Magnolia Oil Party to the Paines, is of course significant, but DeMorn did not maintain contact with LHO after April 1963 and was in Haiti at the time of the assassination.

If Bouhe "kept the files," then what happened to these files?

And here's Bouhe's WC testimony, thanks to the McCIA link.

Jim,

I think the rarely mentioned Nicholas Billo may have been the central figure here even though he died in 1955.

The network he established may have been tapped by Intel and utilized by subsequent operators like de Mohrenschildt and Clay Shaw.

Billo worked with Pferdmengers, Preyer and Company cotton shippers in such places as New Orleans and Fort Worth.

At his funeral, Bouhe and de Mohrenschildt acted as pallbearers.

FWIW.

William, Let me try to answewr

A few, perhaps, unimportant, points:

Jim, Here's a few other points.

Check out: National Committee for a Free Europe and OPC.

https://www.cia.gov/news-information/featur...-look-back.html

Bouhe was originally from Lenningrad, and questioned Marina about his old stomping ground.

This area also had a rather substantial Finnish population.

1. Bouhe worked, as a young Russian, with the Hoover Relief program and befriend several administrators from that program.

Is this Hoover Relief program affiliated with the Stanford Hoover Institute, where George's brother Sergi DeMohrenschildt worked?

At the end of WWI Herbert Hoover was the head of an international relief program that was helping to feed the displaced persons in need as a result ot the horrors of war. This is the same Hoover that the Hoover Institute is named after but the Insitute did not exist at the time that Bouhe was working for the relief agency in Russia.

I personally feel that Oswald may have gone to Helsinki by first traveling from London to Hamberg then catching a Finn Air flight to Stockholm and into Helsinki. This travel was available at the time and the connections are entirely possible. The Warren Report avoids the London to Helsinki travel leaving us all to speculate although the passenger records were available in 1964. Edwin Walker may have traveled from London to Hamberg on the same day (a route totally possible to get Walker to his destination of Augsburg). If LHO was instructed by "somebody" (perhaps Walker) the whole story of who Lee Harvey Oswald was changes!

Bouhe paid for Marina's dental work at Baylor Med. (The dentist who performed these tasks for Bouhe is still living), and provided other basic necessities for the Oswald family.

Yet no one believes that Oswald received any financial aid form any potential intelligence assets.

According to the Social Security Death Index there is only one Bouhe who has ever died in the United States and that is our George. No family history, no family connections. I find this to be ineresting but it proves nothing while leaving a lot of room for speculation.

Stavropighial Convent of the Dormition, "Novo Diveevo"

The Convent is located some 60 km from New York City. The founder and builder of this monastery was Protopresbyter Andrian Rimarenko (starets Nektarii of Optina died under his epitrachelion). In 1949, with the arrival in America of a multitude of refugees, Fr. Adrian decided that it was necessary to have a spiritual center. A former Roman Catholic monastery was built and a Russian convent was founded. Soon after an Orthodox church was built in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov. The largest Russian Orthodox cemetery is located at the site along with a home for the aged. The convent has many sacred things: a full-length portrait of St. Seraphim of Sarov painted during his lifetime, a cross from the Ipatiev House and the cell icon of the Mother of God that belonged to St. Amvrosii of Optina.

The head of the Convent is Abbess Irina.

Here is what I picked up in the last 48 hours on the Bouhe Dyckman angle.....Bouhe is generally credited with introducing Oswald to DeMohrenschildt. Mr. Liebeler.

Where were you born, Mr. Bouhe?

Mr. Bouhe.

I was born in what was then St. Petersburg, now Leningrad, Russia, on February 11 or 24, 1904, and the difference in dates is because we had the Julian and Gregorian calendar, and I have a baptismal certificate showing, February 11.

Mr. Liebeler.

Under the old Russian calendar?

Mr. Bouhe.

Yes.

Mr. Liebeler.

That would be February 24 under the present day calendar?

Mr. Bouhe.

Yes.

Mr. LIEBELER, Tell us when and how it came that you came to the United States.

Mr. Bouhe.

During the years 1920 through 1923 back in Petrograd, Russia, while I was finishing my high school there, which was called the Gymnasium, although it had nothing to do with athletics, I was working for the American Relief Commission as an office boy.

It was an association to which the American Congress allocated, I think, $100 million for the relief of the starving population of Russia.

The Hon. Herbert Hoover was Chairman of that Commission. He sent American executives to Russia to set up branch

offices in several cities, including what was then already Petrograd, and I, speaking English, was an office boy.

When we finished that thing, I got a little letter of thanks which is now here framed, which is my great pride and joy, in which it says to George Alexandrovich Bouhe, in gratitude and recognition of his faithful efforts to assist the American Relief Commission in its efforts to relieve the suffering of the hungry population in Russia.

Mr. Liebeler.

After you worked for the American Relief Commission, did that lead to your coming to the United States?

Mr. Bouhe.

That is correct. My association with some of the supervisors which were American executives led to numerous discussions with them, including, the now deceased Prof. Frank Colder of Stanford University, Gen. William Haskell, who later commanded the National Guard; one of my supervisors said, "Why don't you come to America?" So after the office closed sometime in August 1923, more or less, I applied for a passport to leave Russia but was refused. Then I went across the little river separating Soviet Russia from Finland in the middle of September at night, and it was cold, and got out.

Mr. Liebeler.

You went into Finland and came to the United States?

Mr. Bouhe.

Through Germany and then to the United States in April 1924.

Mr. Liebeler.

Did you eventually become an American citizen?

Mr. Bouhe.

I became an American citizen on or about June 1939.

Mr. Liebeler.

Did you continue your education when you came to the United States?

Mr. Bouhe.

Not regularly and not formally. I was working for 13 years for what is now the Chase Manhattan Bank, but it had previous mergers. I attended the American Institute of Banking, and that is all I did there, which is not much.

Mr. Liebeler.

Let me ask you where you learned English, Mr. Bouhe.

Mr. Bouhe.

At home. At the age of 5 to age of 7, I had a French governess. At the age of 7 to 9, I had a German governess. At the age of 10 to maybe 11, I had an English governess.

Mr. Liebeler.

You got your first acquaintance with English through the English governess, is that correct?

Mr. Bouhe.

Yes.

Mr. Liebeler.

Your formal education in the Soviet Union was confined to the gymnasium, is that correct?

Mr. Bouhe.

That's correct, which is slightly over the high school here, but it was what is called classical, namely because they taught us Latin and Greek.

Mr. Liebeler.

When did you first come to Dallas?

(Mr. Jenner entered the room.)

Mr. Liebeler.

(continued). Mr. Bouhe, this is Mr. Jenner.

Mr. Bouhe.

On July 4, 1939.

To the Dallas News

In the interest of truth and true history, let me correct the story

which appeared in The News, June 20, to the effect that Nikolai

Ivanovich Kibalchich invented the jet airplane. The report went

on to state that this same Kibalchich threw the bomb that killed

Czar Nicholas II in 1881.

Kibalchich and a group of terrorists threw a bomb which killed

Alexander II, the Liberator. The killers were tried— my

grandfather was on the prosecuting staff— and executed.

Czar Nicholas II, the last czar, was killed with his family

by the Bolsheviks in 1918 by a firing squad in

Ekaterinburg, Russia. I hope his killers will be executed

some day.

Guest Tom Scully

Robert, reading your post last night, in the "Blonde Oswald" thread,

http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=11517&pid=252239&st=75entry252239 and this post here, today, steered me to several things.

You reinforced through posting the obit of Stewart Dyckman's mother, listing George Bouhe as a pallbearer, that Dyckman was probably a primary influence on Bouhe's move from New York City to Dyckman's hometown of Dallas, TX, after what was describe in Dyckman's recent obit as his "batchelor decade" in New York.

I read that Stewart Dyckman moved from Dallas to Calgary, Alberta, CA in 1952. Before that, I posted supporting documentation that Dyckman was elected president of the Harvard club of Dallas not long after there were only about 40 members of that club, sometime after 1946 but before 1952.

The obit of Dyckman's mother you posted also relates that she continued to reside in Dallas until her death in 1952, and that his sister, Mrs. W. B. Newsome, continued to live in Dallas.

Pursuing the info in your same post about Dallas Harvard club's John G. Penson and his brother, Col. David Penson sent me off in an intriguing direction. Trubee Davison was a close friend of John McCloy, making a small headline when he flew in from DC to attend McCloy's wedding in 1930. At the time he was personnel director at CIA, Davison was a neighbor of Stuart H. Johnson and his daughter, Priscilla, John G. Penson and his brother grew up less than five miles from the homes of Johnson and Davison, in Mill Head, LI, NY.:

In early 1913, Yale junior class member Stuart H. Johnson was one of 29 appointed to Phi Beta Kappa. The article observed that

these admissions were predictive of who would be tapped for Yale secret societies in the month of May.:

(Stuart H. Johnson was not tapped in May, but several of his Phi beta Kappa brothers were tapped for Skull and Bones, and Johnson was notified by mail, later in that week, by the newer of more progressive fourth Yale society, Elihu Club, of his selection.)

... Johnson's son, Stuart, Jr., brother of Priscilla, was a member of the Phillips Exeter class of 1941, William B. Macomber, Jr., of the class of 1939, Edward G. Hooker of the class of 1942, and GHW Bush, of the class of 1943.

....Ernest L. Byfield, Jr. was best man in the 1943 wedding of William HG Fitzgerald and Oliver W. Hammonds was an usher.

...........All three were WWII intelligence officers. Byfield was training Macomber in the OSS Sussex program by early 1944, with the oversight of William Casey. Hammonds went to reside in Dallas in 1948, partnered in law and accounting with fellow Harvard Club member, George Ray, and later in Arabian Shield Corp. with Jack Crichton who was hired at Empire Trust in 1952 by John McCloy best man, Henry "Harry" Brunie.

JFK leased Glen Ora from Byfield's mother in late 1960. Byfield was close to Irv Kupcinet and Pat Hoy from 1945 to 1960. Kupcinet and Hoy were close to Sid Korshak, Kupcinet was a co-columnist with Jack Ruby's friend, Jimmy Colitz. Jimmy and his brother Ira operated the Clover Bar next to the Hotel Sherman offices of Byfield and Hoy. Hoy was close to Gus Alex and was president of Henry Crown's Material Service Corp in 1963 and exec. V.P. at Crown controlled General Dynamics, employers of Max Clark and of IB Hale.

Edward G. Hooker was GHW Bush's school roommate, step-nephew and business partner of DeMohreschildt. Dallas Harvard club president Stewart Dyckman sponsored George A. Bouhe. Macombers asked Otto Otepke at State Dept. security in fall, 1960, to bring the name of defector Oswald to the attention of Hoover at the FBI. Priscilla Johnson was taking a close interest to Oswald in Moscow. Later, Priscilla and her husband went to Haiti to interview DeMohrenschildt.

DeMohrenschildt was meeting with Bush business partner, Tom Devine in NYC in spring, 1963. In connection with this meeting, Devine renewed his officially dozen years dormant relations with CIA. In 1955, Devine was an usher in the wedding of Albert Carter of CIA. The best man in that wedding was Palmer Dixon, son of WWII 8th Air Force intelligence chief and Rhodes Loeb partner, Palmer Dixon. The son of Winthrop Aldrich and stepson of Henry Brunie were also ushers in that wedding, along with Andre Rheault of the CIA, brother of Spec. Forces Col. Robert Rheault of Viet Nam army -CIA investigations in 1969.

William HG Fitzgerald's son married the daughter of Tom Devine's Stonetex business partner, Robert G. Stone, Jr., son-in-law of Godfrey Stillman Rockefeller, and brother-in-law of Godfrey Avery Rockefeller of Bell Helicopter in Dallas.

That is great Tom. And it is really refreshing to see some serious digging going on in this area. If I remember correctly, when I used to go to the Dallas Library and look at their microfiche documents, [the same ones John Armstrong perused when he was in Dallas doing research for what was to later become Harvey & Lee], I found a document about Bouhe that detailed his world travels from the late 1950's to pre JFK assassination early 1960's. As I recall he was in Spain, Europe and back to the US, I will dig that out and post it, but I am going to be doing some, well, lets just say, I wont be able to post for awhile.

By virtue of his letter to the Dallas Morning News, I would say he was a very zealous anti-Communist, and it is sad to think that what he was doing on those trips, might not ever become known, but one can always hope.

One of the things I have learned after all these years of JFK research, is that Lee Oswald was like an intelligence magnet, just look at all the people that were "around him," especially when he was going somewhere, like on the Le Harve steamship across the Atlantic, en route to the U.S.S.R., remember the other passengers?

If, as I have always believed, Oswald was an intelligence asset when he was in the USSR and when he came back in the United States, possibly, dare I say probably, keeping track of right-wing activities in nut-country, [and it is still nut country], David Philipps, George Joannides, E Howard Hunt, the personnel at the American Embassy in Havana, JMWAVE in Florida and the Western Hemisphere Station in Mexico City, and the hawks in the Pentagon saw a golden opportunity in killing two birds with one stone, meaning President Kennedy and the neutralization of Robert Kennedy, as they had a good idea he would be damaged goods psychologically, at least for a while, and then killing the only intelligence operative, [Oswald], who could explain what exactly had been going on in Dallas. Of course, we have a pretty good idea of what was going on, but we all see Oswald "through a glass darkly."

Imagine if Ruby had bungled killing Lee Oswald, and hypothetically went to trail, I would offer that the American public would have been given a big fat "TOP SECRET" as far his testimony goes.

There would have been a hue and cry unlike anything ever experienced, but LBJ could have used the same line he wound up using, which was "to make this public would be inviting a war that could kill 40 million Americans," of course, that is what might have been, and I am only interested in what was. Dotting the I's and crossing the T's is not sexy or glamorous, but I am proud not to contribute to sanctioned American History, and to stand for the truth.

Everyone here that contributes to achieving that end are my hero's, they sure as hell are not the Cowboys of the "Yankee and Cowboy War," as Carl Oglesby, coined the phrase.

Cheers
