  1. Ah, happy memories. The best thread you ever started. (Was it the only thread?) http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.ph...brother%20egypt Looks as if all my images have been deleted! Treachery! And FURTHER proof that I was on to something, since the Illuminati have clearly censored all my evidence. Scoundrels!
  2. Not allowed by public opinion. Any radio station playing his records would be publicly vilified. It wouldn't surprise me if the DJ or manager responsible ended up being drummed out of their job. HP were forced by public outrage to drop one of his songs from an ad campaign last year. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...ng-dropped.html
  3. I addressed this claim on another forum about 6 months ago. http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...t&p=2713238 Hi-res link to the image Here's a close-up of the reflection of the astronaut taking the photo (Jack Schmitt) in Gene Cernan's visor. The hoax theory goes that the PLSS isn't visible, which indicates the image was somehow faked. I found an image of Jack taken by Gene, AS17-140-21385. I chose this one because the pose is similar to the pose reflected in the visor. Here I've highlighted various steps I took, cropping Jack (some artistic licence taken with the legs), and flipping him horizontally. Below I've highlighted further steps I've taken. I've reduced Jack's height to 46 pixels (sorry Jack!) to match his height in the reflected visor image. A little bit of contrast reduction, then I reduced the width of the image to match that of the reflected image. Here I've superimposed the final crop of Jack from AS17-140-21385 over the reflected image in AS17-141-21608. Quite a good match (not perfect, but you wouldn't expect it to be). Notice in particular the similarity of the PLSS/helmet. The PLSS seems to have been reduced in width by the curvature of Gene's visor, and is being mistaken in the reflected image for part of the helmet itself. Mystery solved.
  4. Holy cow! I'm off to whitewash the windows and stock up on tinned fruit.
  5. Yet in the early 70's they measured the distance of Apollo lunar rover EVAs in kilometres - cast iron proof of whistle-blowing. Ergo, Apollo was faked.
  6. You're quite right, it was of course Flight 175 hitting the South Tower (in my defence I was up late last night looking at this while the news of Michael Jackson filtered in on the telly. Who says men can't multi-task!). As you point out, this is further corroborated by the debris seen arcing through the air on the far side of the collision, heading towards the corner of Church and Murray.
  7. Here's some pretty convincing evidence that something flew through the air from the direction of the WTC toward the junction of Church and Murray. NOTE: I wouldn't recommend anyone who suffers from epilepsy watches this clip between 8 and 20 seconds. Right at the very start the video shows damage to the corner of a building I've identified as 108 Church Street. This is the building at the opposite corner to where the engine part is. It's directly in-between the WTC site and the location of the engine part. The building has been identified using Google Maps, and the 3D buildings function in Google Earth. At the 5 second mark, you can see the part of Church Street next to the engine part identified in Jack's study. It shows what appears to be another, smaller piece of wreckage, and also a large crack in the tarmac just behind it. It all points to an engine part flying from the North Tower, crashing through the corner of 108 Church Street, hitting the tarmac, and splitting into at least two parts. The split could also have happened when it hit 108 Church Street.
  8. Which I suspect will be more earth-shattering than the expenses fiasco, and more important since it goes to the heart of our democracy. Anyone interested in exactly what the House Of Commons saw fit to black out of MPs expense claims need only wait until Saturday. The Telegraph are publishing much of the uncensored data in a 68 page supplement on Saturday. Inside the 68-page magazine supplement you will find files concerning all 646 MPs, with details of their Additional Costs Allowance (ACA) expenses for 2007-8, the most recent year for which figures are available. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...s-Saturday.html
  9. Well, what are the chances. Decided to randomly dip into Gordon Brown's expenses and quickly discovered a dodgy claim. In 2006 he submitted the same receipt for two successive claim periods, 18/9/2009 to 30/9/2009, and 1/10/2006 to 31/12/2006. The amount was for £153.13 Pages 14 & 31:- http://mpsallowances.parliament.uk/mpslord...wn_0607_ACA.pdf Just my luck, the Telegraph had already picked up on this one back in May. Harrumph.
  10. The clue is in the word panorama, which consists of several images stitched together. It can be very difficult to do this accurately with a lot of foreground detail, especially if the camera doesn't rotate about its optical centre, since parallax errors are introduced. It also relies on the skill of the person producing the panorama, and the software being used to stich the images together. This site contains lots of useful information. In the Apollo panoramas, all you're seeing is the same rock being displayed twice as a by-product of the process of creating the panaromas. In the originals, the rocks are only visible once, for example AS17-145-22159:-
  11. To be honest, I was wondering exactly the same thing. Any chance of an explanation Peter? Had me scratching my head too. Pavlovian reaction?
  12. Contrast that with Paddy Power who paid out on Obama last month!
  13. Great songs by a great artist. One of the few who still has the guts to directly confront political situations. The video for "Let's Impeach The President" is a must see. Lets impeach the president for lying And leading our country into war Abusing all the power that we gave him And shipping all our money out the door Wise, insightful words. Can we throw Tony BLiar in there as well? "Ordinary People" is a 1988 Young song that wasn't released until "Chrome Dreams II" late last year. It resonates just as much now as it did back then, reflecting on a decaying economy and society, that will be survived, or even cured, by hard-working, everyday people. Weighs in at an ear-shattering 18 minutes. Only Neil Young could get away with that, and still find room for a 14 minute song ("No Hidden Path") on the same album. Neil Young for President! I don't care if he's Canadian!
  14. I've no time for Faldo, but you've got to admit, that is a great one-liner! Albeit, not his own of course
  15. Maybe it's the old cynic in me Maybe I didn't feel happy because I like to think I can spot a fake a mile off, and this one had me reeled in. For the record, I've been totally amazed by both the opening and closing ceremonies, which have raised the bar and blown out of the water what has gone before. The organisers and participants should be rightly proud of the incredible spectacle they put on. I can't think of enough superlatives to describe it. The memory tower in particular was a work of no small genius. As with all things the passing of time sometimes helps to put things in their context. The little girl miming? Not really such a huge issue is it? However, the CGI graphics I still think are a mistake, and I would have been quite happy to miss out on them in favour of a slighty less spectacular "real McCoy" any day. If the footprint fireworks hadn't been quite as spectacular as planned, I wouldn't have been sat in my armchair saying "But why didn't they have CGI backups ready to enhance my viewing experience!" During some of the closing ceremony I was trying to figure out whether the fireworks were real or not, which I don't think was the organisers' intention. But it goes a bit deeper than that as I touched on in my previous post. One of my main areas of interest is the Apollo moon landings, especially in relation to the conspiracy theories surrounding them. China have a space programme which they hope will culminate with manned moon landings. I can already hear the arguments that some people will put forth, "Well, they didn't think twice about fooling the world in back in 2008 with a few CGI fireworks that they spent months preparing in secret. They obviously did the same with their moon landings in 2020, because they knew it was impossible to get through the Van Allen belts". I know this because I've already heard the argument that NASA's proposed new moon landings will be CGI fakes. Hopefully that's balanced out my views on the issue, without being overly negative. I can understand that as someone living in China you have an innate affection for the country and it's people that only comes from first hand experience (I still feel the same about Abu Dhabi, despite having left there back in 1986). My opinion wasn't intended as a criticism either of China or it's people, so I'm happy to put the record straight.
  16. Jack Is there any reason stopping you from posting a link to your bio? Everyone else on the forum is required to do so. By apparently refusing to do the same, it looks as if you're just playing the martyr by setting yourself up to be banned or moderated.
  17. Well spotted Duncan. It closely resembles the camera used to take those 2 Warren Commission Exhibits. Which doesn't get Greg any closer to IDing his object unfortunately, but we can probably rule out the object seen in that photo.
  18. It's great to see us doing so well in terms of gold medals, but my personal experience says it's at the expense of local facilities, at least in my town. Redcar used to have an indoor swimming baths through until the early 1990's, when due to its age it was demolished. 15 years later, much talk but no action in terms of a replacement. (The outdoor facility was changed to a skating rink as it kept illing up with sand, and was only usable for 6 months of the year anyway due to the weather). Redcar Leisure Centre provides an important facility for, among other sports, badminton and 5-a-side football. Lack of investment over the years means that the roof is no longer water-tight. Twice in the last month, my weekly game of INDOORS 5-a-side football has been cancelled due to rain. Again, much talk of a new facility over the years, little in the way of action. Redcar school playing fields are an easy target for the developers, many have been turned into housing, or are ear-marked for new housing developments, with no investment being made to protect team sports facilities for younger generations not just now, but in years to come. This is just one town's brief history of poor investment in decent sports facilities for all, a tale that is no doubt repeated across the country. The Olympic golds are great, but what's the point of inspiring the younger generation if the only sports outlet they have is a Nintendo Wii?
  19. Sorry, I meant the area in yellow, not green. Thanks.
  20. Ed (I think you meant frame 328.) I'm unsure what your point is here. Do you think JFKs head is too large or too small in comparison to Jackie's? Do you agree with the areas I've identified below? Not wishing to second guess you, but if you just took the area highlighted in green as being JFKs head then it would indeed look a trifle on the small side. Can you clarify your position? Thanks
  21. Cheers Len, I did search but couldn't find anything, which I thought unusual given the date of the article. Can a moderator close this thread off? Thanks
  22. Charles I've refrained from saying a great deal on this thread because I haven't had a strong opinion either way, and to be honest it makes me a tad uncomfortable discussing the motives or raison d'etre of other forum members. However, I've been on the receiving end of similar accusations that Len Colby has, so I have a certain sympathy for the situation he's in at the moment. Whether he's a genuine member voicing his opinion, or whether he's some kind of entity as has been proposed, I have no idea. On one level, it doesn't really matter, since it is the quality (or otherwise) and content of his posts that should be addressed. If Len Colby truly is an agent of dark forces, surely it's more important to attack his message, and point out logical fallacies in his reasoning, rather than insisting that his true identity be discerned (something you've conceded wouldn't prove a great deal anyway). Some of my less positive forum experiences. I've had people falsely accuse me of cyber-vandalism of their forum, simply because the form of language used in posts was similar to mine. I've been falsely accused of hacking and removing conspiracy sites, the only evidence being that I was a member who didn't agree with many of the conspiracies being discussed. I've been regularly accused on this forum and others of being a paid government shill, for voicing an opinion that doesn't support the CT angle on certain "conspiracies". I've had people on other forums attempt to use my real identity against me. I've had someone hack into my account on this forum and post abusive comments in my name, for reasons known only to themselves. I'm regularly accused on other forums of not believing what I'm saying, and being a paid whore of the US government. The M.O. seems to be, throw enough mud and some will eventually stick. Or maybe they're just trying to grind me down. (I'd like to think I'm made of sterner stuff.) If the use of a nom de web on other forums is circumstantial evidence that someone's identity is suspect or compromised, then hang me now, as this forum is the only one on which I use my real name. In fact, this is the only forum I've known where pseudonyms are prohibited. The overwhelming majority of people on other forums post under assumed names. So if Len Colby posting as Len Brazil on another website casts doubt on his identity, then Dave Greer posting as HeadLikeARock or postbaguk must do the same for me, despite no direct accusations having been made against myself about my true identity. For those reasons, I have sympathy for Len's position. I agree that I can see discernible differences in the the two posts made by Len that you highlighted. I suspect you could do the same to me if you analysed some of my posts. You are always very erudite in your own posts, so I don't know if the same would apply to you Charles. My point is, I'm uncomfortable with the idea of using that as evidence that someone is posting under multiple identities. It may be an indicator such a thing, but in my opinion such evidence is wispy at best. There are other less damning explanations. Another reason for me posting this is that to my surprise I've been approached to join another forum. I wanted to go on public record my opinion of the "Len Colby" situation, before I decide whether to accept, since the "Len Colby" situation seems to be the catalyst for a desire by some members to set up a new forum.
  23. A long article from 3 years ago, but I can't find a discussion of it anywhere on the forum. Confirmation of what I've strongly suspected for many a long moon. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article387237.ece
  24. I understand what you're saying, and you're probably right. I'd rather just see whatever shots they could get of the real thing, rather than all of a CGI recreation. I feel robbed and cheated of part of what was otherwise an incredible spectacle. I'm uncomfortable with this for another reason. 2025, China lands a man on the moon. We sit and watch it live in all it's technicolour (CGI?) glory. There are certain HB proponents who are already suggesting that NASA are perfecting their CGI for the next round of moon landings. See where I'm coming from?
