"The soft, the complacent, the self-satisfied societies will be swept away with the debris of History."

    ---- JOHN F. KENNEDY

  2. Good Day All....

Those of you who have been aboard the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy aircraft carrier know that among many key areas where you walk there are pictures, plaques, and words honoring and celebrating the life of President KENNEDY.

There is a large concentration of such memorabilia located among the two main crew galley areas. Within the galleys' perimeters the memorabilia have been mounted on many mobile, free-standing, 6' high, wall partitions that are the same blue color of his jet, "Air Force One," SS-codenamed "Angel.'

With my job responsibilities and duties, I daily interacted with the Commanding Officer of "Big John." The Captain's "in-port cabin" is something that everyone who has a chance to see, should see, now that the ship is home ported in Mayport, FL. Used primarily for meetings/meals with the Captain's chain-of-command, and domestic and foreign dignitaries and honored guests, his in-port cabin contains four areas, one of which is a main living room area.

There were four items in the C.O.'s cabin that have always, vividly, stood out in my memory.... Hanging on each of three adjoining living room walls was a very large painting. Each of these colorful, realistic paintings showed the daylight shoreline, buildings skyline, and shipping docks of a coastal city (Boston?) circa 1700's, complete with harbor anchored and embarking sailing ships. The paintings gave the magnificent effect of your being on a similar ship, in that ocean harbor, and you are looking out the back windows from the Captain's cabin of such an American Revolutionary-era sailing ship.

The fourth item, the one that had a huge effect on me, and, I am sure, many others through the decades, is an exact replica of President KENNEDY's, White House oval-office, padded rocking chair that was given by the KENNEDY family in 1967 when the ship was first commissioned by CAROLINE. I cannot even begin to describe the thoughts and feelings when sitting in that rocker.

Nestled among the many pictures, plaques, etc., for the men of the U.S.S. Kennedy is a plaque of one of the President's speeches.... we all call it the "Men of Courage" speech ....it simply reads:

"Of those whom much is given, much is required. And when at some future date the high court of history sits in judgment on each of us, recording whether in our brief span of service, we fulfilled our responsibilities to the state, our success or failure, in whatever office we hold, will be measured by the answers to four questions:

First, were we truly men of courage, with the courage to stand up to one's enemies, and the courage to stand up, when necessary, to one's associates, the courage to resist public pressure as well as private greed?

Second, were we truly men of judgment, with perceptive judgment of the future as well as the past, of our own mistakes as well as the mistakes of others, with enough wisdom to know what we did not know, and enough candor to admit it?

Third, were we truly men of integrity, men who never ran out on either the principles in which we believed or the people who believed in us, men whom neither financial gain nor political ambition could ever divert from the fulfillment of our sacred trust?

Finally, were we truly men of dedication, with an honor mortgaged not to a single individual or group, and compromised by no private obligation or aim, but devoted solely to serving the public good and the national interest?

Courage, judgment, integrity, dedication . . . these are the qualities which, with God's help, this son of Massachusetts hopes will characterize our government's conduct in the four stormy years that lie ahead. Humbly I ask His help in this undertaking; but aware that on earth His will is worked by men, I ask for your help and your prayers as I embark on this new and solemn journey."

-President-elect JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY, 09JAN61, Massachusetts

....I swear, there are ultra-busy days on the ship where you will be completely-motivated, and dashing somewhere to accomplish an important job, and out of the corner of your eye, for a fleeting moment, you swear you saw a young Lt., KENNEDY-esque thin in silhouette, confidently climbing into a jet-fighter, submarine-hunter "Viking," sub/rescue/special ops helicopter, light-bomber jet, or electronics-warfare jet.... or....sometimes, half way through a slow, quiet, midnight-to-4 watch-duty, as you walk down a straight corridor containing a "mirror" of a hundred-plus, lined-up, open bulkheads hatches, you gaze well ahead, and can see, for a not-long-enough, deja-vu instant, a suit-coated man, slightly hunched over, making his way towards the same coffee machine as yourself.

It is a remarkable ship, that everyone should, and can, be proud of right along with the men and women who keep us, and much of the world, free and safe.

Here is a scan of the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy ship's seal from my flight suit:

"We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans--born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage--and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

    This much we pledge--and more."

    "Nov. 22, Now a Game"

Nov. 29 issue - If history, as the saying goes, repeats itself, first as tragedy, then as farce, we must now add to that list, "then as videogame." This week Scotland-based publisher Traffic Games is releasing "JFK: Reloaded," an interactive simulation that allows users to re-create the Nov. 22, 1963, assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas.

"Our premise is that there was no conspiracy, that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone," says Traffic's Kirk Ewing, who has both produced documentaries for British television and worked on such games as the riot simulator State of Emergency, and whose colleagues were involved with the controversial hit Grand Theft Auto. "What we're asking people to do is re-explore the Kennedy assassination through interactive technology."

Players are first placed at the sixth-floor window in the book depository where they attempt to pull off the same sequence of shots as did Oswald during the brief period of time that the motorcade is visible from Oswald's vantage point. According to Ewing, the number of shots and the accuracy thereof are affected by the reload time for the bolt-action rifle and realistically modeled wind and dropoff. Afterward, players are scored on how closely they came to re-creating

the original event; to encourage gamers to buy the $9.99 download-only product, Ewing says those who come closest to replicating the assassination can win up to $100,000. Players can see and instantly replay what they've done from a variety of witness locations, like the grassy knoll and the Zapruder film or review their bullet trajectories.

The squirm-inducing "docu-game" plays more like a brief episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" than Doom III; the only blood effect in the game occurs if players achieve a head shot to the virtual president, and it can be switched off. What makes it disturbing is not the simulation; after all, ABC's Peter Jennings hosted a TV special last year based around a computer simulation of

the same event. But by presenting it in the form of a videogame, complete with a profit motive and a cash prize, the "game" clearly trivializes an American tragedy. Asked for comment, a spokesman for Sen. Ted Kennedy would only say, "It's despicable."

Daughter of pilot executed by Cuba wins suit

A Palmetto Bay woman was awarded nearly $87 million in a lawsuit against Fidel Castro and the Cuban government for the desecration of the body of her father, a CIA pilot during the Bay of Pigs.

    BY JAY WEAVER

    jweaver@herald.com

The daughter of a CIA pilot shot down during the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion and later executed by the Cuban government won an $86.5 million judgment on Thursday -- including huge punitive damages imposed against President Fidel Castro, his brother Raul and their country's army.

Janet Ray Weininger, of Palmetto Bay, was only 6 years old when her father, Thomas ''Pete'' Ray, was killed. His body was frozen, desecrated and put on display in a Havana morgue for 18 years before it was shipped back to his family.

After her court victory, Ray Weininger said she felt a deep connection to her late father and a reward of justice.

''I feel I have honored my father and stood with him,'' said Ray Weininger, a 50-year-old mother of two. ``It's an incredibly good feeling. But at the same time, it's so painful I want to cry.''

Ray Weininger -- like a handful of others who also filed suits in state and federal courts in Miami -- was able to pierce the Cuban government's sovereign immunity under a 1996 law that allows victims of designated terrorist states to sue for damages. The 1996 Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act has allowed the families of Brothers to the Rescue fliers shot down by the Cuban Air Force, the jilted wife of a Cuban spy and the survivors of an American businessman executed during Cuba's revolution to challenge Castro's government in court.

In all the cases, the Cuban government has not defended itself at trial.

    TROUBLE COLLECTING

Despite the legal victories, only the families of three Brothers' shootdown victims have been successful in collecting damages from seized Cuban assets held in U.S. banks. The total collection: $93 million -- only about half of the $187 million court judgment.

The families won their federal suit in 1997, but it took four years of heavy lobbying before the Treasury Department and President Clinton signed off on releasing the money.

The plaintiffs in the other two cases have not been as successful in collecting millions in damages.

''We have made great progress in collecting three [Cuban] planes,'' said attorney Fernando Zulueta.

The planes were seized after they were hijacked from Cuba and flown to the United States.

Two of the planes were sold at auction for a total of $19,000 in 2003, and the other was turned into an exile monument.

Zulueta represents Ana Margarita Martinez, the former wife of the Cuban spy Juan Pablo Roque. She won $27 million in Miami Circuit Court in 2001.

Zulueta is also the lawyer for the family of Howard Anderson, who was shot by a Cuban firing squad after the Bay of Pigs invasion. The Andersons were awarded $67 million last year.

Zulueta and other lawyers are seeking to recover an estimated $100 million in frozen Cuban assets that remain in U.S. banks.

Ray Weininger's lawyers -- Spencer Eig, Joseph Zumpano and Leon Patricios -- said they plan to go after those assets or seize other Cuban properties held in the United States.

Ray Weininger's nonjury trial began Monday, when she and a few others testified about the father's death and the family's ordeal.

Pete Ray, an Alabama National Guard pilot, was flying for the CIA in the April 19, 1961, Bay of Pigs invasion when his plane was heaviliy damaged. He survived a crash landing, she testified. His plane went down near Fidel Castro's headquarters. He made it out of the plane alive, but was injured in a gun battle.

    EXECUTION ORDERED

When her father was being treated by Cuban doctors for his wounds, the army carried out the orders of the Castro brothers and killed him with a single shot to his right temple, according to court evidence.

The body was kicked, spit on and displayed for political purposes during that period. Notified of his death, the Ray family was told only that he had died in the Caribbean Sea, with no other details.

Ray Weininger began her search for information as a child. But it wasn't until 1978 that Castro admitted that he had the body of a U.S. pilot killed in the 1961 invasion.

In December 1979, after the remains had been identified through dental records as those of Thomas Willard Ray, they were shipped home to the United States.

    REPULSED

Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Ronald Dresnick, in his eight-page opinion, said he was particularly repelled by evidence detailing the Cuban officials' mistreatment of Ray's body.

''There was testimony at trial that Pete Ray's body, which was kept in a freezer in Havana, Cuba, for 18 years, was desecrated,'' Dresnick wrote.

``Eyewitness testimony established that high-ranking officials of the Cuban government would routinely remove Pete Ray's body from the freezer to mock it and to place their feet on top of his face.''

Dresnick awarded Ray Weininger $65 million in punitive damages and another $18 million as compensatory damages for pain and suffering. He also awarded more than $3.5 million to her father's estate, for which she is the representative.

Woman sues Cuba for dad's death in Bay of Pigs

    November 16, 2004

MIAMI -- The daughter of a CIA pilot killed by the Cuban government during the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion testified Monday she held President Fidel Castro personally responsible for his execution and for displaying his frozen body in a glass case.

Janet Weininger is seeking $112 million from the communist government in a lawsuit filed under a federal anti-terrorism law that allows the families of victims executed by state sponsors of terrorism to seek damages.

Weininger's 18-year quest to recover the body of her father, Alabama National Guard pilot Thomas ''Pete'' Ray, began when she was 6. She said she wrote more than 200 letters to Castro.

''You don't get an answer back, and you know this person has the keys to your life,'' Weininger said.

Ray's body was released in 1979.

Testimony took less than a day, but the judge gave no indication when he would rule. The Cuban government offered no defense.

    Ron

....Good Day Ron.... Here is my "Lancer forum" post #8273 of 19DEC02

    (QUOTE)

.... It is a 1957 Chevrolet "Bel Air." We still have the 37,000 mile one my Great Grandmother purchased for $2200 when she was 69 years old. :D

    from my notes:

10MAR63---latest date determined that OSWALD took pictures of WALKER home, street and area with his "Imperial Reflex" camera. One of the pictures shows a 1957 Chevy parked in WALKERS driveway. When MARINA was later shown this picture on 23NOV63 the license plate of the 57 was visible. Sometime after the assassination, when DPD confiscated the photo, the license plate area was torn out. In a photo on page 133 of CURRY's 1969 book "Personal Assassination Files" the license plate is seen still intact in the photo, which is laid out with other OSWALD belongings in a 23NOV63 DPD photo.

The '57 Chev belonged to FELIPE VIDAL SANTIAGO's brother in law. Colonel BILL BISHOP drove him to Dallas from Florida in that car on more than one occasion and they were at WALKER's house at that time. VIDAL did not have a drivers license. This was confirmed by JERRY HEMMING who did not know that Col. BISHOP had already told this to researcher/author DICK RUSSEL (I think). HEMMING was not as specific. He just said it belonged to a relative of VIDAL. Apparently some in that circle believe that the WALKER shooting was a put up job and that VIDAL engineered it. That would fit with what the youngster, COLEMAN, who witnessed men leaving the scene in two vehicles said.

MAX CLAUNCH told researcher GARY SHAW that a few nights before the shooting incident he noticed a "Cuban or dark-complected man in a 1957 Chevrolet" cruise around WALKER's home several times.

10APR63@21:10---someone tries to assassinate WALKER through window of WALKER’s home. The bullet glanced off the wooden window frame and went through the wall near and slightly above WALKER's head; the wooden frame may have saved his life.

WALKER hired a private investigator to look into the assassination attempt when he grew frustrated with the efforts of the Dallas Police force. He suspected a former employee might have been involved. The crime would still be listed as unsolved on November 22, 1963.

There is local news film from that evening showing the window sash . The bullet passed slightly upward along the bottom edge of the sash, not through it. It flew over his head, almost parting his hair, went through a wall and out the other side, landing on top of a dresser or cabinet of some sort.

WALKER's chair and desk are in the collections at The Sixth Floor Museum. WALKER kept the window when he moved out in the 70's and it is reportedly in the possession of a friend or distant family member.

OSWALD had left MARINA a note telling her what to do if he was arrested, etc. MARINA OSWALD learned of her husband's act when she confronted him with the note which he had left, giving her instructions in the event he did not return. That incident, and their general economic difficulties impelled MARINA OSWALD to suggest that her husband leave Dallas and go to New Orleans to look for work.

WALTER KIRK COLEMAN, who was a 14-year-old neighbor to WALKER, told police he heard the shot and, peeking over a fence, saw some men speeding down the alley in a light green or light blue Ford, either a 1959 or 1960 model. COLEMAN got a fleeting look at one man -- of medium build with long black hair -- while the other man was hidden from his view by a tall fence (DPD Supplementary Offense Report, April 11, 1963, Officer W. E. CHAMBERS).

COLEMAN also said he saw another car, a 1958 Chevrolet black with white down the side in a church parking lot adjacent to WALKER's house. The car door was open and a man was bending over the back seat as though he was placing something on the floor of the car.

At the time of the Warren Commission, COLEMAN was not called to testify and, in fact, told WALKER he had been ordered not to discuss the incident by "authorities."

(suspected-assassin SOUTRE' was, supposedly, at the training programs of anti-Castro groups and met with Gen. WALKER-"The Deaths of the Cold War Kings")

    (QUOTE)

.... An interesting, and persuading, photo-comparison. That is a "keeper."

Does anyone know FELIPE SANTIAGO's brother-in law's name?

FELIPE SANTIAGO's brother-in-law was an associate of forced-to-retire, ex-U.S. Army Major General, far-right, "John Birch Society" leader, EDWIN A. WALKER.

(an aside: in "The Man Who Knew Too Much" (pg562) Le CAVELIER says that WALKER had met with Frenchman JEANE CLAUDE SOUETRE', the WWII hero, anti-DeGAULLE, O.A.S.-leader, Corsican mafia assassin/drug smuggling leader while SOUETRE' was at an anti-CASTRO training camp in the U.S. in April or May, 1963)

(QUOTE From Barney's 2/2000 Stars and Stripes article)

Major General Edwin Walker was commanding the 24th Infantry Division headquartered in Augsburg, Germany, in February '61 when the division staged a night river exercise on the swollen Danube near Ingolstadt on 2/27. The pontoon bridge broke and about 50 GI's were dumped into the raging river. All but two were rescued. Stripes carried a modest story on March 1st, followed by a picture on page one of rescuers searching for the two bodies.

Next day there was a message from General Walker to our editor in chief saying: " Effect of picture on Danube in Stars and Stripes 3 March 61 on this command is negative." As assistant ME, I was asked for comment and I retorted in a memo that Walker's comment had a very negative effect on me. I pointed out that the 24th Division did everything it could to impede coverage of the story ordering all survivors and rescuers not to talk to anyone. "Anyone with any sense would have made (them) available at a press conference, or to individual reporters to emphasize the heroism and quick work that enabled all but two men to be saved. Instead, they act like they're trying to cover up a crime, or something discreditable....It's this sort of stupidity that has continually characterized Walker's relations with the press, both German and American, as well as with Stripes". I suggested we ask for an investigation of Walker's conduct in bottling up the story.

Nothing happened, but six weeks later Gen. Walker was back in the news when Overseas Weekly, the scourge of military brass (founded, incidentally by a former Stripes staffer in 1950) reported that Walker was indoctrinating his troops with John Birch society propaganda. Walker sued the OW and tried to get it banned from military newsstands. President Kennedy ordered an investigation, and Walker, ultimately, was relieved of command.

WALKER is, of course, the same extreme right-wing fascist whom OSWALD, supposedly, tried to kill on 10APR63 at 9:10 pm.

WALTER KIRK COLEMAN, who was a 14-year-old neighbor to WALKER, told police he heard the shot and, peeking over a fence, saw some men speeding down the alley in a light green or light blue Ford, either a 1959 or 1960 model. He got a fleeting look at one man --of medium build with long black hair-- while the other man was hidden from his view by a tall fence (DPD Supplementary Offense Report, April 11, 1963, Officer W. E. Chambers). COLEMAN also said he saw another car, a 1958 Chevrolet black, with white down the side, in a church parking lot adjacent to WALKER's house. The car door was open and a man was bending over the back seat as though he was placing something on the floor of the car.

MAX CLAUNCH, a WALKER aide, told researcher GARY SHAW that a few nights before the WALKER shooting incident he noticed a "Cuban or dark-complected man in a 1957 Chevrolet" cruise around WALKER's home several times.

WALKER aide ROBERT SURREY said that on 06APR63 he saw two men prowling around WALKER's house, peeking in windows. SURREY said the pair were driving a 1963 dark purple or brown Ford with no license plates.

On 17APR63 OSWALD left Dallas to return to New Orleans on the very same day that OSWALD's best friend, GEORGE De MOHRENSCHILDT, wrote to Vice-President LYNDON BAINES JOHNSON (according to researcher BRUCE ADAMSON. Is ADAMSON's new book --last I heard, the first volume of two-- available yet?)

On 09AUG63, OSWALD, while passing out “Fair Play for Cuba” leaflets, was arrested on Canal Street in New Orleans and charged with disturbing the peace. A friend of the MURRET's, OSWALD's relatives connected to MARCELLO's mafia, bails him out late in the afternoon. The arrest was the result of a confrontation with DRE anti-Castro Cuban exile CARLOS BRINGUIER and two of his associates, MIGUEL CRUZ and CELSO HERNANDEZ. OSWALD was handing out pro-Castro leaflets, with 2 persons he had hired at $2 an hour to help him, when BRINGUIER, HERNANDEZ and CRUZ approached OSWALD. When HERNANDEZ tried to take the leaflets from OSWALD, a shouting match began; the New Orleans police then intervened, arresting all four individuals. It was widely believed this event was staged. The event and arrest was filmed by a tourist. Later review of the tourist movie film shows a man, who looks remarkably like CLAY VERNE SHAW, standing away from the event, watching it.

In one of the more astronomical-against-all-odds "coincidences" of persons related to events surrounding OSWALD, there is a tenuous thread between WALKER and OSWALD.... A St. Paul, Minnesota, man named JOHN MARTIN, who was an acquaintance of WALKERS and filmed him in his Dallas home in the late summer of 1963. Incredibly, MARTIN journeyed to New Orleans where he photographed OSWALD handing out "Fair Play for Cuba Committee" material on the same roll of film he had captured WALKER on!

    (back to FELIPE' SANTIAGO's brother-in-law)

SANTIAGO's brother-in-law was the owner of the 1957 Chevrolet captured in a photo sitting in WALKER's driveway, supposedly taken by OSWALD in MAR63 while surveiling prior to shooting at WALKER.

This is the same photo where the license plate was torn/punctured out of the photo sometime after entering the DPD evidence chain, after the DPD found the photo at the PAINE's, after the assassination, but, after the Chevy photo was captured in a DPD photo --with the license plate completely intact-- that appeared in CURRY's 1969 book, "Personal Assassination File."

Very interestingly, FELIPE SANTIAGO knew Colonel HAROLD BISHOP, who also worked with the C.I.A., and, supposedly, drove FELIPE from Florida to Dallas several times.

Additionally, FELIPE and INTERPEN/C.I.A./mercenary GERALD "Gerry" PATRICK HEMMING also, supposedly, knew each other.

As I posted about a couple days ago in the "Loran Hall" thread, here is a quote from an interesting (1975, I think) interview in “Argosy Magazine” with HEMMING, that is available for all within the entire article "The Company," JFK's Murder, And The Plot To Kill Richard Nixon" here:

    http://www.rose-hulman.edu/~delacova/belli...osy-hemming.htm

    (QUOTE)

HEMMING: Yes, the day of the assassination, I made a call to Texas from Miami. And I pointedly asked, is Lorenzo Hall in Dallas? I made the call about 1:30 or 2:00 in the afternoon. He was there. My contact had seen him in Dallas the day before.

ARGOSY: Why were you suspicious of Lorenzo Hall?

HEMMING: Because he left Miami with the stated intent to get Kennedy. And he had my weapon, a Johnson 30.06 breakdown rifle with a scope on it that had been prepared for the Bay of Pigs. I'd left it with a private investigator who had previously worked under Agency auspices on the West Coast. Hall got the weapon when we ran short of funds on a return trip from L.A. to Florida, and we ended up using Hall's car.

  12. Good Day John.... It is not a new book, but one reference that I would recommend is CARL OGLESBY's, “The Yankee and Cowboy War; from Dallas to Watergate” (1975).

OGLESBY provides his considerations that there was a connection between the JFK assassination and Watergate, and that the Dallas tragedy was part of a struggle between the Eastern seaboard "old money" power structure, the "Yankees," against a western U.S. power structure, the "Cowboys". OGLESBY contends that the conservative/Republican party and the liberal/Democrat party each contains both Yankees and Cowboys.

One of the Yankees core beliefs is that the future destinies of the United States and Europe are intricately linked, while one of the Cowboys core beliefs is expansion west and that the future destinies of the United States and Pacific rim countries are intricately linked.

Interestingly, OGLESBY notes in this 1975 book the posturing of RONALD REAGAN as the ultimate cowboy some 5 years before REAGAN became the U.S. president.

It also contains an interesting interpretation of RUBY's jailhouse interview by WARREN.

----RONALD W. REAGAN, "A Time for Choosing" speech, October 27, 1964

  13. Good Day.... Found in an article about Dallas attorney CHARLES "Charlie" TESSMER

    http://www.dallasobserver.com/issues/1999-.../feature_3.html

    <QUOTE>

No case was bigger than the State of Texas vs. Jack Ruby -- the man who killed the man who killed Kennedy. Tessmer had known Ruby for some time, had frequented his Carousel Club, and suspected that Ruby had once been an "errand boy" for the Chicago mob. But Ruby stayed out of trouble in Dallas, except when he roughed up a drunk in his club. For that he used attorney Tom Howard, who two days after Oswald's murder met with Tessmer and his young associate Frank Wright. Ruby wanted Tessmer to defend him. "Only, he wanted me to represent him for free," Tessmer says. "I told Tom I would have to think about it."

A few days later, Tessmer and his wife ran into Sheriff Decker, who urged Tessmer not to get involved with Ruby. "There may be a conspiracy," Tessmer recalls Decker saying. "Those are dangerous people."

Decker's warning caused Tessmer to hesitate long enough for Ruby's family to hire San Francisco attorney Melvin Belli. The flamboyant "King of Torts" put the city of Dallas on trial, and Ruby must have resented his tactics. On the morning the trial was set to begin, Tessmer says, Ruby's brother Earl and sister Eva were sitting in his office, begging Tessmer to replace Belli.

Jack Ruby was the kind of client who could become synonymous with Tessmer's name and cement his reputation as one of the great criminal lawyers of his time. Only Tessmer turned him down. Belli had already made a public mess of things, Tessmer says. "I just felt it was too late."

"That was a severe mistake," Wright says. "The only thing that Charlie missed in his career was that national case that could have made him a national figure. He never got that chance again."

"You are either with us, or you are with the terrorists."

----President GEORGE W. BUSH, 20SEP01 in an address to the United States Congress announcing the Bush Doctrine

  16. Good Day.... Of 267 witnesses who have expressed or were asked the number

of shots that they *remembered* hearing, 249 (93%) claimed to hear only 3

shots (or 3 closely spaced volleys of shots) or less.

(A "shot" in 1963 could have been a non-mechanically-suppress-fired audible

muzzle blast, or, a mechanically-suppress-fired audible muzzle blast; both of

which would have also caused (and been closely followed by) an audible bullet

bow shockwave if the bullet was traveling faster than the speed of sound)

The majority of witnesses, from one end of the plaza to the other, said

that the last two shots (or volleys of shots) that they *remembered*

hearing were noticeably, and distinctly, much closer together, than the

first two shots (or closely spaced volleys of shots).

Of 207 witnesses who expressed or were asked from where the shots they

*remembered* hearing came from (60 witnesses were never asked &/or never

    expressed an opinion):

34 witnesses could not tell (16%)

63 witnesses heard all the shots they *remembered* hearing come from the

depository or the Houston/Elm intersection area of the depository (31%)

110 witnesses *remembered* hearing at least one shot that did not come

from the depository or the Houston/Elm intersection area (53%)

.: Therefore, of the 173 persons who had an opinion of the shots

locations, 64% *remembered* hearing at least one shot that did not come

from the depository or the Houston/Elm intersection area, while 36% heard

all the shots that they *remembered* hearing come from the depository or

the Houston/Elm intersection area of the depository.

The following are from my personal detailed list of witnesses that I have spoken

with over the decades, seen in documentaries, listened to on cassettes or radio,

seen in photographic evidences, and read about.

If you need help for a reference for a specific person, please ask which

specific person(s) you need help for and I can provide it for you.

The vast majority of witnesses who expressed an opinion or were asked from

where the shots they *remembered* hearing came from are listed. (for some

reason the file I quickly went to for the following list is missing a few of

the 173 total witnesses comprising the two basic groups of witnesses who

*remembered* hearing either at least one shot that did not come from the

Houston/Elm intersection area, and the witnesses who heard all the shots that

they *remembered* hearing come from the depository or the Houston/Elm

intersection area of the depository. I will see if I can locate those few

witnesses not on the following list from when I originally tabulated them)

I welcome any and all referenced comments as I am steadily working towards

"(D)rehm (sic) seemed to think the shots came from in FRONT OF or BESIDE the

    President." (my EMPHASIS)

----CHARLES F. BREHM, a gunfire-battle experienced, WWII D-day, United States

Army Ranger veteran, quoted just minutes after the attack while still standing

within Dealey Plaza, "Dallas Times Herald," 11-22-63, final edition

  17. ....Good Day.... BRENNAN's body position atop the reflecting pool wall is precisely pinpointed here:

    BRENNAN202zapLOS.gif

    http://members.aol.com/DRoberdeau/JFK/BRENNAN202zapLOS.gif

BRENNAN's sitting location atop the wall as seen in the DORMAN and

ZAPRUDER films is about only 5'-6' different than where he sat for the warrenatti

camera to recreate his location in CE478.

His actual attack body facing position seen in DORMAN & ZAP is

approximately facing towards the center of the Houston/Elm intersection.

His head facing direction changes. At Zf-207 just before ZAPRUDER panned him

out of the film sprocket area his head is facing LEVEL, and his face is turned hard

to his left, facing over his left shoulder, towards the limousine, and he is

simultaneously facing approximately 90 degrees away from the warrenatti

    apologists "snipers lair" at Zf-207.

At Zf-206/207 the pyracantha tree a few feet northwest of the reflecting pool steps

would have started to block BRENNAN's view of President KENNEDY

(whose headtop was then some 7' to 8' lower than BRENNAN's headtop by just

    Zf-206/207).

From Zf-252/253 and completely AFTER Zf-252/253, BRENNAN's view of

the president was completely obstructed by the tall cement

monument that borders the west side of the north reflecting pool's northside steps

    (near the same pyracantha tree).

Additionally, at Zf-313 --and not supporting, at all, what

BRENNAN chose to write in his book-- BRENNAN's view of the

limousine was still completely obstructed by the tall monument that borders the

west side of the north reflecting pool's northside steps.... in other words

--despite what he wrote in his book-- BRENNAN lied and could not have

possibly have seen the President's head explode nor could BRENNAN have

possibly seen the bloody remnants of the head explosion because the tall

monument completely hid his Zf-313 view of the president....

....Looking at it another way.... if (as he warrenatti testified in 1964) BRENNAN did

see an assassin in the TSBD sixth floor easternmost window trigger a shot, and, if

(as he warrenatti testified) after watching an assassin in the TSBD sixth floor

easternmost "snipers lair" window fire a shot BRENNAN did immediately turn back

to his left towards the president after the "snipers lair" gunman fired, and if

BRENNAN could still see the president (as he warrenatti testified), and since

BRENNAN could have only seen President KENNEDY before Zf-252/253, it

means that the TSBD sixth floor easternmost window "snipers lair" assassin fired

the LAST shot that BRENNAN saw the TSBD sixth floor easternmost

window "snipers lair" assassin fire BEFORE timestamp Zf-252/253.

"Based on the statements of these witnesses, if the smoke they reported was in

fact the result of gunfire, it would have originated in the area of the top of

the grassy knoll. There is no way of determining what type of ammunition was

used in that "gunfire" so that is can be stated conclusively whether the smoke

seen by the witnesses is consistent with smoke produced by the type of

ammunition used in any gunfire from the knoll. Nevertheless, a firearms expert

engaged by the committee explained that irrespective of the exact type of

ammunition used, it would be possible for witnesses to have seen smoke if a gun

had been fired from that arena. According to the expert, both "smokeless" and

smoke-producing ammunition may leave a trace of smoke that would be visible to

the eye in sunlight.(371) That is because even with smokeless ammunition, when

the weapon was fired, nitrocellulose bases in the powder which are impregnated

with nitroglycerin may give off smoke, albeit less smoke than black or smoke-

----JOHN NEWMAN, "Oswald and the C.I.A." (1995)

  19. Good Day Jack.... B) Well, "my book" matches the "Webster Dictionary" definition in the sense that the tone of the very same words that you used above to claim what you did was not an enhancement, is actually a match for the very definition of enhancement when you used transparent, colored oils on your MOORMAN #5 cropped enlargement of the retaining wall area seen in "TMWKK":

    Main Entry: en·hance

    Pronunciation: in-'han(t)s, en-

    Function: transitive verb

    Inflected Form(s): en·hanced; en·hanc·ing

Etymology: Middle English enhauncen, from Anglo-French enhauncer, alteration of Old French enhaucier, from (assumed) Vulgar Latin inaltiare, from Latin in + altus high —more at OLD

    Date: 13th century

    1 : obsolete : RAISE

2 : HEIGHTEN, INCREASE; especially : to increase or improve in value, quality, desirability, or attractiveness

    - en·hance·ment /-'han(t)-sm&nt/ noun

    © 2001 by Merriam-Webster, Incorporated

    Merriam-Webster Privacy Policy

....As I said above other than (i.e. not including) enlargement and cropping, I consider all other techniques, especially colorizing an original black and white photo, to be enhancing. This is the very reason that when an enhanced version of a photo or frame is presented, imho, it should always be accompanied by an un-enhanced companion so the viewer can view both, compare them side-by-side, think about the considerations, and, ultimately --as it should be-- decide for him/herself.

....Are there ANY archived threads on "JFK Research" that have ever discussed shooter's glasses being "seen" on "badgeman"?

JW: "I DO NOT RECALL YOU EVER ASKING ME ANYTHING ABOUT BADGEMAN."

....Correct. I never directly asked you my questions about the enhancement processes performed on the MOORMAN #5 cropped enlargement of the retaining wall seen in "TMWKK" (though I should have just emailed you). I posted my enhancement specific processes questions to the public "JFK Research" forum, that you were an active posting member of at the time, in the simple hopes of learning/stimulating/advancing the knowledge --via any/all post responses-- especially for helping those just learning the case, about how the MOORMAN #5 photo was enhanced.

....Do you know what the ASA rating was of the original polaroid film composition that MOORMAN used for capturing her #5? I seem to recall that in those days the Polaroid ASA rating was very high.

  20. Good Day Jack.... Your "beef," then, needs to be taken up and resolved with GARY MACK.

Several years ago, I casually inquiried of several persons and forums (which I believe also included the old, free "JFK Research Forum" which you were a member of at the time) and I simply asked about the enhancement processes utilized that resulted in the colorized, cropped, enhanced version of MOORMAN #5 seen in "The Men Who Killed Kennedy." (one of my considerations at the time was how much taller the straightline apparent upper edges and southeast corner of the retaining wall do look higher in enhancements, versus the fact that the upper edges and southeast corner of the retaining wall is seen to be comparatively and distinctly-noticeably lower in un-enhanced MOORMAN #5 copies)

I received no definative answers (including none from yourself) until GARY MACK emailed me and specifically told me that the colorized, cropped, enhanced version of MOORMAN #5 seen in "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" had been, in his words, "water-colorized" by you.

Not caring a wit about the non-JFK-politico-machinations that goes on too much between the overall people of "TEAM JFK" (that's ALL of US, folks :{)-] ), and, therefore, my not knowing that at that time that you and GARY MACK had some sort of previous (hopefully temporary?) parting-of-the-ways (a real shame for ALL of us, I might add), but in knowing that the two of you had worked very closely together in the early 80's and "TMWKK" on the, supposed, "badgeman" image, it was logical for me to accept his word, who, as far as I knew, was still your compadre'.

Of course, Jack, compared to you, I (who still prefers using my olde' Rollei, Nikon, and a Pentax single reflex, etc., 35mm camera's to using my new digital camera) are the person with the photographic printing expertise.... but....

....No matter how you attempt to "spin" it, when a photo or its photo scan is studied and worked upon, and anything except enlarging or cropping is done to that photo or scan.... in my "book," that IS called "enhancing".

What very mildly bothers me (besides not providing the photographers name and/or exact photo or frame number, and, only because when I save a scan I like to archive it with a precise title) about when some persons present enhanced photos or and/or a film frame(s) accompanied by their interpretation(s), is that, usually, all that is presented is the enhanced version.... I am a firm believer that people are basically smart, and, therefore, in being smart he/she can be responsible for engaging his/her brain, making up his/her own mind about something, so, the original photo/frame, imho, should be presented right along with the enhanced version so that the viewing person --any persons-- can compare the two side-by-side and decide for him/herself what is/is not revealed in the photographic evidence.

Jack, do you recall the name of the NRA expert who said he saw shooter's glasses on BM? Are there ANY archived threads on "JFK Research" that have ever discussed shooter's glasses? (none that I can find are "googled" in any newsgroup thread or any other forum)

Anyway, I have no hard feelings, at all, towards you on a personal, non-JFK level, and have known and followed your work for the majority of my 29+ years researching the case (since your contributions for and to us all via the HSCA's partial investigation)

An aside.... I have been trying through the Dallas F.B.I. to obtain a print of the first "U.P.I." negative/MOORMAN photo that I have heard they have (or had, at one point) in the Dallas files. Their "help" and "responses" have been worth precisely "squat".... Any helpful suggestions, Jack?

"(D)rehm (sic) seemed to think the shots came from in FRONT OF or BESIDE the President." (my EMPHASIS)

----CHARLES F. BREHM, a gunfire-battle experienced, WWII D-day, United States Army Ranger veteran, quoted just minutes after the attack while still standing within Dealey Plaza, "Dallas Times Herald," 11-22-63, final edition

  21. .... N E W ....

GORDON ARNOLD - Additional Claims about the Knoll-Wall

    Good Day....

The following are just a portion of the 16-page transcript quotes of a forty-five minute interview of self-claimed Dealey Plaza witness, Gordon Leslie Arnold, that was administered June 6, 1989 by interviewer Conover Hunt for the "Oral History Collection" done at "The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza."

Isn't it amazing how, no matter which side of the "picket fence" you are on with respect to what you think about Arnold's claims, that the mere mention of his name sometimes --much more often with a few persons, than others-- can be enough to get one's self feeling (hopefully temporarily) just -- a --- bit ---- anxious.

The transcript is annotated that it was originally transcribed by Stephen Fagin, November 2003, then, the transcript was revised by Stephen Fagin and Gary Mack in "January/February 2004".

What follows are just some of the 6-6-89 additional claims and/or additional details that Arnold made to Hunt in 1989 (after Arnold's "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" 1988 shown interview had already been filmed and aired) that have not been previously publicized in any other newspaper article, documentary, or book.

    (in transcript-quoted, transcript-chronological order)

Arnold claims, "And on that particular morning, I was going to be going to Fort Wainwright, Alaska, the following week, and my parents had bought me a brand new, modern camera to make movies with"

Please recall that in "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" documentary that Arnold stated, matter-of-factly (a couple times), that the movie camera belonged to his Mother, and, he claimed, because it was sentimentally his Mother's that was the reason he initially did not want to give up the entire camera to the, supposed, "badgeman" that he claimed kicked him a couple times.

In this 1989 "SFM" interview Arnold claims he parked, "on the other side of the tower," "before noon time."

Arnold claims he went to Dealey Plaza because while driving he noticed the people lined-up and he wanted to test the new movie camera. He claims he did not know anything about the presidential motorcade, "because in the military training that we had, we weren't allowed to read newspapers, listen to radios, nothing like that." (which, in my military experience, was true only for recruit training "boot camp," but was not true for any advanced special training after boot camp)

Arnold claimed on 11-22-63 he had been in the United States Army, "approximately nine months," and that during his three years of service he, "was in a special unit." (but he never details which "special unit")

Arnold claimed the first encounter with the, supposed, "agent" occurred "down to the very corner where there's a… a drainage ditch" ....probably meaning the vertical sewer at the junction point where the west end of the north stockade picket fence adjoins the north end of the triple overpass bridge.

Please recall how in 1988's "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" where he was first filmed stradling, was filmed noticeably far away from the picket fence, and, the vertical sewer does not even appear in the background. (in "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" he does mention that the agent first approached him from around up off the north side of the triple overpass bridge)

Arnold claimed he, "weighed 175 pounds," and, "I was nothing but muscle."

Does the, supposed, "Arnold" image "seen" in MOORMAN #5 polaroid photo enhancements appear to to you to be "nothing but muscle", or, does the, supposed, 5.8' tall "Arnold" image appear to you to have a somewhat noticeable "gutt"?; a gutt "seen" from a lower MOORMAN position, rising above above a 3.3' tall wall.

Arnold claimed the, "agent" told Arnold that the agent, "was with either the CIA or Secret Service."

When the "agent," supposedly, encountered Arnold again and told Arnold, again, to leave the area, Arnold claimed he thought or said aloud, "Well, horse rots" and then (probably thought to himself) "I'll just go around it and get on the other side of the fence. You know, I'm away from his territory. I'm in mine now. I get on the other side, and man, everybody's in good positions to take pictures but ole' Gordon here, so… (chuckling) So, the big problem was… is that there use to be a directional identification billboard out here. And it was just past the lampost."

Arnold claimed, "at that point in time they were putting dirt on the knoll. There was a mound of dirt. And I said, 'Well, I'll stand on the mound of dirt.' And I was doing some practice pan shots"

The ground between the retaining wall and the picket fence line may, or may not, have then had a thinnish layer of dirt on its top in that area, possibly even a grass-people-traffic-worn-showing dirt top, but, there are no photos, no film evidence, nor a single witness(es) statement(s) that there was ever an obvious, distinct, raised, rounded, "mound of dirt" --anywhere-- in that knoll/wall area. Professional surveys from the trapezoid points between the "badgeman" tree, picket fence corner, retaining wall southeast inside corner, and the northernmost wall corner (along with my several personal extended trip/vacations I have made to the plaza in the 80's and 90's) all reveal that trapezoid that ARNOLD claimed he was within to be relatively level.

Conover then asks Arnold where he was standing in relation to the north pergola steps, to which Arnold claims, "OK. OK. The steps would be almost----I would say in front of me, but it's not in front of me because I'm standing askew to the steps----more towards the street than I am the steps." "And I'm up as… I'm about three feet from the fence."

Please recall that the 1978 "Dallas Morning News" photo that shows Arnold standing noticeably much closer to the picket fence than the retaining wall that he stood closer to by 1988's "The Men Who Killed Kennedy."

Conover then asks, "Between the steps and the fence?," to which Arnold replies, "Yes."

*NOTE* that Arnold claims he was BETWEEN the steps and fence --in other words, he is specifically claiming he was specifically in the grass between the fence and the steps-- but he was not on the grass between the east edge of the sidewalk and the west edge of the retaining wall, he was not on the sitting bench, he was not on the west edge of the steps, he was not on the east edge of the steps, he was not on the steps or the top step, he was not on the pergola sidewalk, he was not on the west edge of the sidewalk, and, he was not on the east edge of the sidewalk. Based on the physical layout of the steps/retaining wall/picket fence corner I cannot visualize his above strange, imho, concurrent added claim that he was also "more towards the street than I am the steps." (perhaps he was trying to vocalize that his claim was that his facing direction --not his standing location-- was facing turned "more towards the street"?)

Conover then asks, "So, the steps were east of you?" to which Arnold replies, "Right." (So, he has already said he was 3' from the picket fence, and the pergola steps, not the pergola sidewalk, are east of his standing location point)

Arnold then claims he, "still didn't know what was happening until, well, the motorcade came around the corner…" (yet, he also claimed he had been there since just before noon. He claims he has been there 30+ minutes before the attack, so, is it logical to you that in that 30+ minutes before the attack that he, never once, reasoned just why so many people were pouring out of the buildings and gathering together, and/or, he never once even took just a few short seconds to casually ask someone --anyone-- just what was going on? Exactly WHAT did Arnold imagine/think the C.I.A. "agent" --or was it a secret service "agent"-- was doing there, anyway?)

Arnold goes on, "And I said, 'Well, that looks like the presidential flag.' And I still really wasn't convinced, but I put the camera up, had it all wound up, and just as the nose of the car started to come into the… into my viewfinder, I pulled the little switch on it. And just as I started to pan and I was almost parallel to the street is when the… I want to say noise. It's not a noise. You feel something go past you, and then you… it's almost instantaneous. You'll hear a noise following behind it, and to me, I knew I was dead because that was a bullet that just went over me. And it's not a span of time that this occurred in. This happened, what I'm telling you, is all in one sequence because when the shot went past my ear, I was automatically falling. And when I was falling, I was still taking... The camera was still rolling. And I could see the president's head go back. Now that's the last that I remember being on the camera, but when I went down, I literally went down and when you're… you're taught to roll…" "…to get down as deep as you can and away from the line of fire. And I would say that another shot went over my… the position that I was in, but the… when that occurred, I was down. I had my face… I had rolled over once, and my face was now down. By now, the camera had quit running by this point in time. OK. At that… it seemed like eons, but it's not. A short period of time after that, somebody kicked me in the derrier, and now, I'm not in the mood to be kicked to begin with. And I was upset because I knew the president had been killed, and I turned over and I was ready to hit somebody. And I was facing a large bore weapon, and the man was crying." Conover asks, "What do you mean by a large bore weapon?" to which Arnold claims, "Like a shotgun…" "… but it looked… it was big enough for a truck to drive through."

So, Arnold is claiming one shot was fired while Arnold was standing only 3' from the picket fence with the pergola steps in front of him, and Arnold first instinctively reacted to a bullet going over him. He implies that he rolled over one complete revolution, and since we know that no one is seen in photo nor films just west of the retaining wall --near that 3' from the picket fence Arnold claims-- he is clearly implying that he had to have rolled somewhere east or northeastward out of sight of all cameras --and towards the eardrum busting, very close bullet that he claimed in 1978 and 1988 passed very close to his left ear.

*NOTE* that here Arnold said a bullet went over him but does not say --as he did in 1978 and 1988-- that a bullet went past his left ear.

Also note that in 1978 Arnold claimed he was kicked not by the "badgeman," but rather by a "badgeman accomplice" also dressed in a D.P.D. uniform (in 1978 the *first* D.P.D. uniformed "badgeman accomplice" had the additional Arnold claim that "badgeman accomplice" was also wielding a visible, drawn, held revolver), but by 1989, Arnold has now mutated his claim to the "badgeman" himself was now the only kicker ---while he is holding that waving, large bore, shotgun-like weapon.

When asked how far away from him the "badgeman" was, Arnold claims, "He was just out of arm reach, down to the barrel" and, "He was between me and the fence."

After Conover asks if Arnold saw from where the "badgeman" came from, Arnold claims, "No, not where he came from, but now, people were moving at that point in time. Some were running away from where I was at. Some were running up the hill. What I couldn't understand is, he took the film out of the camera, pitched the camera back to me, and then he came back towards the… along the fence line towards the parking area," and yet, not one single witness, nor one single photo/film confirms an armed, crying D.P.D.-uniformed assassin kicking anyone and waving a large weapon around for all these persons that Arnold, by his own 1989 claims, said were now "running up the hill" past the, supposed encounter only a few yards away.

*NOTE* that Arnold never once mentions a second D.P.D.-uniformed "badgeman accomplice" in his 1989 claims, even though he detailed a second D.P.D.-uniformed "badgeman accomplice" carrying a revolver --and who did the kicking-- in his 1978 claims.

And here's one of the 1989 Arnold claims that REALLY caught my attention. A claim that I have never in 29+ years ever heard a single researcher ----including the "badgeman" founders---- ever mention, much less, provide the details of for us, nor has it ever appeared in ANY photo enhancement:

"He had a… it looked like a Dallas Police officer's uniform, and he was a white male. He had… oh, back in those days, it's what they use to call shooter's glasses. Oh remember the… it was like a yellow tint to the glasses. It kept the glare off your eyes."

I can just visualize the MOORMAN photo enhancer-artists that also think that "Arnold" is "seen" in MOORMAN now scrambling and having to alter their black and white and water-colorized enhancements to match this additional, "important" claim by Arnold to now "show" the, supposed, "badgeman" glasses with yellow-tinted lenses, and don't forget to add-in the glasses frame of these, "shooters glasses," and remember to trim "Arnold's" gutt to appear as, "nothing but muscle."

During the experiences of war, in hunting, for target-practice, and when trap and skeet shooting, most persons still do call them "shooter's glasses," Gord-ee-oh.

Arnold claims the "badgeman" was in his, "late-twenties, early thirties," had dark hair, "was not fat," "was stocky," "had a ruddy complexion," and was, "a little bit taller than I was" (Arnold states he was 5' 10.5" tall, = 5.87')

The, supposed, badgeman, Arnold goes on to claim, "had dirty fingernails" that Arnold claimed he noticed while he was watching the "badgeman" trigger finger during the, supposed, encounter. Of the encounter, and "badgeman" during the encounter, Arnold claimed, "And with him shaking like that, it was going back and forth, and it just shook me up." "He had tears coming down his eyes, but he… when I left here, I got to my car as fast as I could."

Arnold goes on to claim that he told his girlfriend-later-his-wife, "Now, I explained to her what had occurred, and I had explained to my parents what had occurred" and after he left Dallas to travel to Alaska, he stopped-over in Seattle and "explained to the officer-of-the-day where we were being billeted what I had seen."

Arnold further claims, "The… my son and daughter now know about it."

    Then this strange exchange:

Arnold: Well, I went into the service…

    Conover: What year?

    Arnold: …in '66.

I say "strange" because earlier in his claims in this same 1989 interview Arnold stated that he started serving in the U.S. Army in 1963 (possibly, that is a transcription error?)

Arnold then claims that while serving on a court trial jury he told a fellow University of Texas at Arlington student who was researching the assassination the "true" story of what happened --according to Arnold. Arnold claims he took this UTA student to the "grassy knoll" and that the student took a photo of Arnold standing on the "grassy knoll"

Arnold goes on to describe how Nigel Turner found Arnold, "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" filming, etc. Of the "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" segment where Arnold, supposedly for the first time, views the enhanced "badgeman" image after flipping up the piece of cardboard, Arnold claims that "badgeman" was Lucien Sarti when Arnold elaborates to Conover after Conover asked what the assassin looked like, "And… well, if you have the tape, he's in the tape." (unless Arnold is saying the assassin was someone else who appeared in "The Men Who Killed Kennedy")

I guess the Frenchman, Sarti, did not speak with a, noticeably, French accent when he spoke to Arnold, aye?

If I recall correctly, Gary Mack once emailed me and said that "The Men Who Killed Kennedy"/Steve Revile French-Corsican-mafia-were-the-assassins-theory was "nonsense."

Arnold further describes how he was shown several mugshot-type photos by Turner or a Turner assistant, and after about 30 seconds he was "semi-sure" he identified one of them as being the third assassin team member (or second assassin team member, depending on which year version of Arnold's claims he was claiming to Turner) -- the "hard-hat badgeman accomplice" that is, supposedly, "seen" in the MOORMAN polaroid enhancements. (I wonder why this important identification of the "hard-hat badgeman accomplice" was not filmed, or, if filmed, why it was also not shown in "The Men Who Killed Kennedy"?)

About how long the encounter with the, supposed, "badgeman" lasted, Arnold further claims, "That lapse of time that you're talking about, and I… I… It would be no more than thirty seconds because, in all honesty at that point in time, there was a lot of police officers up or coming up the hill or were on the knoll."

Please read my study, "The WILMA BOND Photos Do Not Timestamp ARNOLD's Presence Anywhere on the Grassy Knoll" linked to below.

Incredibly, Arnold goes on to mutate his story, temporarily, within this very same 1989 interview when he goes on to claim to Conover Hunt, "And believe it or not, I say there was four or five shots fired. I know there was two fired over me, but now the… the problem with this particular area is that you've got reports going off between buildings."

Conover asks, "So, you were aware of shots being fired before the ones came over your head?" to which Arnold claims, "To be honest with you, no."

Arnold claims he never heard anyone talking from behind his, supposed, filming/standing location.

Arnold again claims how the highway sign blocked his camera filming view just before the attack started, and how Arnold had his body parallel to the street direction when "his" first shot went over him (or, was it to the left of him?).

But, in utilizing and calculating on a professional surveyed map from the area where "Arnold", supposedly, stood during the attack --from the intersection point of the Z-202 "black dog man" mandatory line-of-sight with the Z-315.6 MOORMAN mandatory line-of-sight for the "Arnold" image,

    or,

from that BDM Z-202 line-of-sight 3' from the picket fence,

    or,

from the Z-315.6 MOORMAN mandatory line-of-sight for the "Arnold" image at 3' from the picket fence-- the highway sign (presumably, the "Stemmons" sign) would horizontally block President Kennedy from Arnold's view from before Z-133 (on the left north edge of the sign), through only about Z-160 to 175 (when the president would have emerged from the right south edge of the sign)

Also, please recall that Gary Mack has stated that Arnold claimed to Gary in 1982 that Arnold starting walking forward towards the retaining wall (southeastward), from a grass point nearer to the "badgeman" tree, just as the limousine entered Elm Street, and while Arnold --as Arnold claims-- was panning his camera around in practice.

Arnold claimed he was walking southeastward, with his (or did it belong to his Mother?) new-to-the-touch/unfamiliar-with-all-mechanisms-feeling movie camera, raised up to his eye, panning the camera around in arcs, walking towards an imminent crest/drop-off of a "grassy knoll" hill that surrounds the steps top, and/or, bumping into the retaining wall, and/or, tripping on the straight-edge of the pergola sidewalk, and/or, and/or bumping into whomever spilled the red drink onto the east sidewalk edge, and/or tripping-down-into-MOORMAN's-view because he did not see the top pergola step, and/or, all the while, walking up onto then standing upon a raised mound of dirt that no other witness that went up there has ever spoken of, that no one captured in any photos/films, nor is documented by a single professional surveyor on any of the professional land survey maps and professional plats performed in 1963/1964.

Arnold further claims the movie camera film was color, 8mm, brand "Kodak" (but he gives no "Kodak" specific film type), and admits he, "was concentrating more on the… on the camera and the---what I keep saying---stupid people in front of me because I couldn't get up to where I could see what was going on."

"And I rolled, and when I rolled, the camera was still running. So, it would have taken a picture of the fence…" "…and anything behind it."

    Ahhhh-hah !!....

Now we know why the, supposed, "badgeman" wanted to get "Arnold's" film....

.... "badgeman" saw the camera, and/or saw the camera laying on the ground facing him and the "badgeman" thought he may have been exposed on film....

    .... But wait....

.... Why did the "badgeman," completely illogically, give the movie camera BACK to Arnold?!!?

----you know, so Arnold could keep safe the same movie camera that, most likely, now also had "badgeman's" fresh fingerprints well preserved for the authorities to find on the movie camera's outside AND on the inside the movie camera????

Maybe it was just that the "badgeman" already knew beforehand that he, or any of the other conspirators, did not need to ever worry about any serious investigation by the "authorities."

With some of these additional claims that Arnold "illuminated" and ruminated about during his 1989 "SFM" interview, you can count on that I will be updating my research study, "The WILMA BOND Photos Do Not Timestamp ARNOLD's Presence Anywhere on the Grassy Knoll," currently available for all, here ....

    For the United States:
  23. Good Day.... The following is a transcript of the handwritten, portable,

personal diary journal segment by Dealey Plaza very close assassination

witness, MRS. JUNE DISHONG that contains her 11-22-63 assassination

    observations.

The observations were discovered by her daughter shortly after MRS.

    DISHONG passed-on in 1998.

Because it made MRS. DISHONG sad to the day she passed-on, her daughter

has described to me that her mother hardly ever mentioned the
assassination nor that she was a very close witness. DISHONG never initiated

conversations about the attack, and it was hard to get her to discuss the details,

which surprised her family because, other than her reluctance to discuss the

assassination, DISHONG was a gregarious and very talkative person.

In reading DISHONG's observations it appears to me that DISHONG wrote them
throughout the day of 11-22-63. It appears to me that her assassination related
comments end early in the afternoon because her last portable diary journal
entry lines talk about TV scenes at Parkland Hospital of persons reacting to the

    announcement of President KENNEDY’s death.

DISHONG is seen in the ZAPRUDER film standing along the Elm Street north
curbline, just east (Z-frame leftward) of the "Stemmons" freeway sign. She is
the fourth person to the frame-apparent left of the sign, with darker, somewhat
short hair, wearing a blouse with red and blue plaid stripes, and a dark colored

skirt. (in her diary she estimated that she was 30’ from the corner, which I took

to be the Elm Street curving abutment corner between Elm Street and the Elm

Street Extension road. MRS. DISHONG’s family has confirmed to me that she

pointed herself out to the family in a "Life" magazine that they still have, and

that she said she was the 4th person seen to the left of the SFS in the Z-film)

Her position has also been precisely determined within my Dealey Plaza detailed

    map, available for you, here....

    https://i.imgur.com/8vSS1dp.gif

She can also be seen in the BETZNER photo (simultaneous with Z-186), and the

    BRONSON photo (simultaneous with Z-227).

Importantly, and very important to her attack observations of DISHONG
remembering hearing 3 audible muzzle blasts and/or mechanically suppress-fired
bullet bow shock N-waves, President KENNEDY was exactly even with her at
Z-222-223, when just as he passed DISHONG the president's waving arm
dropped down and then slipped off the side of the car, when the first blast or
shockwave (or the first closely spaced volley of shots, I would add) of the 3
that DISHONG remembered hearing (or *could* hear) was fired.

Along with her closely detailed, shots-to-JFK-reactions timestamped attack

observations, I also found very interesting her watching a gathering of persons on top

of the roof of the County Courts Building before the attack.

DISHONG’s living daughter has told me....

"She said that the shots came from behind her, on the knoll."

MRS. DISHONG's daughter does not recall her ever giving an estimate of the total

seconds from 1st blast to the last, nor if the blasts sounded the same (or not), nor

how many seconds were in between each blast.

Her daughter also later wrote me that her mother, "worked for

'Higginbottom and Baily’, on the corner." (IIRC, "Baily" was correctly spelled

    "Bailey")

Here are MRS. DISHONG's handwritten notes....

    Fri 11-22-63-

    This morning started as
    usual with the alarm radio
    rousing us at 5:45 AM.
As we go through the hectic
    hour of dressing, breakfast and
    readying(sp) our self for a
    days work my thoughts are
on a trip to K.C. It is misting
rain this morning and I had
    better wear a raincoat and
take my umbrella as I have
6 blocks to walk from where
I park to where I work at
the corner of Elm + Houston.
I had read an item or
    two of President Kennedy’s tour
and this was the day he would
    drive though Dallas, but
I was absorbed in the starting
of my day and my work

    (page 2)

Better hurry its 10 to 7 and I
must be at work by 7:45.

The morning is long - its
only 9 AM. I look out
the front window of the building
I work in and think - there’s not
many people on the street but
its early for them to start
gathering - looks like it will clear
off. hope the sun comes out
    for the motorcade. I wonder
what time they will be by here.

At 10 AM - coffee break. I learned
    that the Presidents party was
due at this end of town around
    noon. Although I hadn’t considered
    going down stairs to watch
for them I began to get excited
about the thought of seeing the

    (page 3)

    President and his wife and
mulled over the thought of going down stairs.
    Another trip to the front
window. The sun is out and
    it’s a beautiful day - how nice.

    11:45 the excitement is building.
Word came from the front office
the(that) the Kennedy plane has landed
    but he is delayed shaking
    hands with people.

12:00 He is late getting downtown.
We have time to eat lunch
    and get out in front.

12:15 Better put on my jacket
    it might be chilly although
    the sun is shining bright.
We go down the elevator at the
back of the building and across
    the corner

    (page 4)

    down the side walk in
    front of the Texas book
    depository and about 30
    feet beyond the corner.
The sun is warm. I’ll take
off my jacket we might have
quite a wait for the president’s car.
I look back up the mall.
The grass is green and the
    shrubbery is orange
    and brown foliage and is
    beautiful in the bright sun-
    shine. I hear the sounds
    up around the corner. The
    people are leaning out the
    windows and I can see
    a large group on the
    roof that hang out from

    (page 5)

    the Court house. Around the
corner come 4 motor cycle police
men with their white helmets and
gunning their motors as they move
along slowly. A car full of
    men a short distance behind
them. Still no car with Jack + Jackey.

    Suddenly the crowd begins
to respond and we can see
people in the windows at the
    court house waving and shouting.
    4 more motor cycle policemen
    and here come the president
    and his wife -
No hat on his head. His
arm in the air waving and
that great big smile of his.
    Jackie beside him her arm
raised in greeting to all of us

    (page 6)

A pink suit. Pill box hat
    to match. Black hair
    just as we had seen
    them so many times on
    T.V. - it was beautiful.

He drops his arm as they
go by - possibly 20 feet.
    Suddenly - a sound.
Gun shots? So hard to tell above
    the clamor of the crowd.

    The President bent forward into
his wife’s lap as his arm
slipped off the side of the
    car. Jackey circled him with
    her arm. Another shot.
    Panic among the people.
    Woman with children. Parents
    pushing them to the ground.
No one knows where the shots
    are coming from.

    (page 7)

    A cry. The President has
    been shot.

    A third shot. People
    scatter.

    I can’t believe what I have
    seen. The picture of the
    man falling forward.

I cover my face to blot out the
picture, but that I can’t do.
I must get away from that
    horrible picture. I turn and
    run back to our building
up 3 flights of stairs. Already
    the word has proceeded us.
    What has happened. Someone
    says someone has been shot.
    The President --no no.
Dear God no. Where is he
    How bad. Who did it.
I think I’m going to be sick.

    (page 😎

All I can see is that form
    crumbling forward. I can’t shut
out the picture. I can’t think.
Only a cry inside myself. It
can’t be so. May be he was
just getting out of the way.
    We turned on radios. It
was true. He had been shot once or
twice. No one knows. We know we
    heard 3 shots.

    Police cars. FBI men.
    The street seething with them.
    Riot guns.
    The building across the street.
They’ve found the gun. Shells. 6 floor
    front window
If any one of us had looked
up when we were looking out
possibly we would have seen this
    man.

No one even thinks of working.
    Just milling around.

    (page 9)

    People crying. Praying
    Hoping.

At last, word he is dead.

    I must go home where
I can shut my doors and draw
    the blinds. This horrible thing
    has happened to this man.
The symbol of our country and
all we believe in, in this city
that I am a part of. Among
people that are gentle and kind
    and deeply aware of God
and the bible. I fight this
feeling. I must get as far
    away as possible because
    miles won’t take away the
tragedy of this day and no
matter how bright the sun is it
will be forever a dark day

    (page 10)

    At home. Trying to think.
Turn on T.V. Everyone in a
    turmoil. Word from the hospital
of his last moments and Jackie.
    People gathered around the building
    crying. Dazed. Unable to
    accept the fact

Wildcatters like Wyatt won't let go

    By JAN JARBOE RUSSELL

Those unfamiliar with the peculiarities of a legendary wildcatter's genetic makeup may not understand why Oscar Wyatt, one month shy of 80, wants to be back in the game.

A veteran of the oil and gas business for 50 years, Wyatt and a group of investors are trying to acquire "Enron's" crown jewel — the nation's largest natural gas pipeline — for $2.2 billion.

I called Wyatt at his Houston office last week to ask if retirement was against his religion.

"Not particularly," said Wyatt, who in the 1950s started "Coastal," the nation's first independent natural gas gathering and marketing company. "It's just that I've noticed that when people like me retire, they usually die. I'd rather work than die."

There's more to it than that. When Wyatt's predecessors — old Texas wildcatters such as Sid Richardson, H.L. Hunt, Clint Murchison and Roy Cullen — are considered, certain common traits stand out. They were impulsive, blunt and hungry for both money and power.

Why, then, at this stage of his life, has Wyatt decided to rebuild the company that made him a player, "Coastal Corporation," into "NuCoastal"? The answer is he suffers from every tycoon's malady — a primal fear of not being able to guide the events of his time.

Wyatt grew up with not much more than his own shirttail in South Texas. He learned to fly a crop-duster as a young man, became a pilot during World War II and earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M. Then, with an initial investment of $800, he built "Coastal" into a natural gas empire.

Younger players in the energy business simply do not understand his combative disposition or his compulsion to leave his brand on all of Texas, most of the United States and the Middle East.

"The players have all changed," reflected Wyatt. "We've got all these classy MBAs from Harvard and Yale running our energy companies. These guys have been taught that stockholders aren't entitled to profits, only management is entitled to profits. They learned the wrong lessons."

That answer reveals Wyatt's other motivation — anger. Four years ago, Wyatt sold "Coastal" to "El Paso Natural Gas" for $24 billion. He soon regretted the sale as he watched the value of his "El Paso" stock sink like a rock. Like "Enron," "Reliant Resources," "Williams Energy" and other energy companies, "El Paso" created off-the-balance-sheet deals to borrow vast amounts of money.

Two years ago, Wyatt and another large shareholder went to "El Paso's" annual board meeting in Houston, screamed about the decreased value of the stock and tried to throw out the company's board of directors.

"All of these companies tried to reap big rewards off completely imagined schemes," Wyatt said. "If they had taken genuine risks, I'd have admired them. That's not what they did. It was hocus-pocus."

The young players bristle at taking lessons from Wyatt, whose own career is riddled with controversy. In the 1970s, when Texans lost control of the price of oil to the Middle East and the energy crisis sent the price of gas soaring, Wyatt cut back on deliveries to many Texas cities, including San Antonio. Consumers were forced to pay higher rates, and Wyatt was accused of hocus-pocus himself.

"I couldn't sell gas that I didn't have," Wyatt said.

Now he's back where he started in the 1950s — building a company he calls "NuCoastal."

Each morning, Wyatt goes into his office and meets with a core group of old "Coastal managers." He's at work on a five-year, 10-year and 20-year plan for NuCoastal.

He has no doubt that he will live long enough to see how the "NuCoastal" influences the world.

"My mother is 102," Wyatt said. "I plan to live at least that long."

Russell is a columnist for the San Antonio Express-News.(jarboe@express-news.net).
