  1. Thank you Larry & Greg for the info & photo.

As a novice 'hobbyist' following the case since it began, I've long wondered if it was Fletcher Prouty about to or actually talking to the ARRB that was the catalyst for the SS defying the JFK Records Act & destroying its own records, possibly in a last minute CYA to hide that someone within the SS either screwed up & didn't follow protocol for JFK's security in Dallas (and possibly other Texas cities on that ill fated 1963 tour) or intentionally stripped JFK of his non-SS security augmenters. Prouty would have been in an excellent position in the Pentagon to hear things that could be a smoking gun, regardless if he could name names.. To hear Prouty explain it, Presidential security or lack of it doesn't happen by chance. A contingency plan exists & certain military & state personnel are designated in advance to support the SS in Presidential security during state visits; their absence indicates they were told to 'stand down' by someone in authority. The folks missing in Dallas were the people that watched the buildings, windows & crowds & took corrective action immediately for infractions (even stopping the motorcade if necessary). Some would be armed & equipped with radios. Had such augmenters been employed in Dealey Plaza there would have been no open windows & no people loitering behind the stockade fence. The storm drains would have been inspected & their lids taped. Prouty always maintained he was suddenly sent out of country to keep him in the dark about JFK's Texas tour security; upon his return Prouty may have sniffed out via gossip & hearsay the smoking gun in this case & the SS destroyed documentation proving it.

I'd like to read what you have on your CD. It's been a while since I read the ARRB Report & I don't remember much about it. Would Doug Horne have been involved in the area of Prouty's interviews with the ARRB or the destruction of SS records?

One final comment that I made in another thread:both Jesse Curry & Bill Decker were stopped just shy of the triple underpass when the shooting occurred. Decker was a stone's throw from his office on Houston Street. Neither dismounted Curry's Ford Galaxie & ran the few yards up to the knoll fence & pursued anyone shooting from there & then to the TSBD. In today's legal viewpoint, could both be held responsible for dereliction of duty & added to the list of people today's public holds responsible for the wrongful death of JFK? Certainly anyone who stripped JFK of his normal security augmenters as well as the TSBD employers of Lee Oswald would be considered as entities that made the ambush of JFK possible; one failed to provide routine Presidential city visit protection & the other failed to employ security measures to prevent an assassination weapon from being smuggled into the building from which it was allegedly used to murder (regardless if Lee Oswald smuggled the weapon into the TSBD or not).

  2. Larry & all: Fletcher Prouty refers to the 112th 'stand down' in the latest interview posted online at Black Op Radio with Len Osanic. Perhaps he was the originator of the 'factoid'? I recall several interviews Prouty did in the '90's posted on YouTube where he mentions the 'stand down' but not who instigated it. Oliver Stone referred to it in his JFK movie. Jim Marrs also may have been a source. I've always been interested in learning if this event actually happened on JFK's Texas tour, how many cities it occurred in, who initiated the stand down order & who complied with it. Until it's nailed down as factual it's just another 'factoid' tossed into the mix that confuses the public.

  3. In the 1st sentence, the words 'FBI test' dropped off when I pushed the post button. I guess they are wandering around lost somewhere in cyberspace. I was thinking perhaps Gary Mack could help both the museum & researchers obtain a really good copy of the test films to be used for study. They will also be valuable visuals for recording the crime scene as it was in 1964 from the line of sight of Zapruder/Sitzman, Nix & Muchmore.

  4. I wonder if Gary Mack can get a good copy of the Zapruder, Nix & Muchmore films & post them on the Sixth Floor Museum's channel on YouTube? I can see some problems already when frames are counted & compared between the original films & the FBI 1964 test films using the original cameras: the SS re-enactment car with actor stand ins doesn't appear to slow down as it does in the original Nix & Zapruder films. This would seem to indicate those original photographers spent more time filming the JFK parade car during the ambush (because it slowed down) & should have more frames as a result vs. the number of frames the FBI films contain. Besides the ghost image study of the sprocket area, the test films will allow the comparison of fixed objects (Stemmons sign, Elm Street curb line, meridian grass area, etc) & could answer some of the allegations that the film's background was enlarged. Too bad the FBI didn't place actor stand-ins where the real witnesses were located so that their sizes could be compared between films (test & originals). With the flood of JFK ambush visuals posted on YouTube I suspect the reason no visuals specialist has messed with the YouTube version of the test films because it is so poor quality. It is nice to be able to see the portion of Elm Street in the test film that was partially obscured by the bush in front of Zapruder & Sitzman in the original film.

If you've been following the video presentations of Doug Horne, he believes in what is viewable in the Zapruder film just a few frames his NPIC witness claims depicted head wound debris blowing out back & towards the meridian was excised out of the original film. That plus a false head wound was painted on. Horne's witness from NPIC doesn't remember the parade car turning onto Elm St. nor does he remember the parade car stopping. Horne believes both events were excised out of the Zapruder original. He doesn't discuss the 'phantom' DPD motorcycle officer Chaney fast trip to inform Chief Curry JFK had been shot episode that is brought up regularly in alteration discussions either.

A quality copy of these 3 test films could answer a lot of questions that have been hanging in the air for decades IMO.
