    Sorry to constantly bump, but I want to ensure as many new members as possible. It is difficult to find people interested in the case on the facebook site, given its size.

    Membership is up to 12 people. I have been posting videos and starting discussions at the group. I will soon be setting up a myspace profile and group for COPA, which is more accessible to all.

    MLK and COINTELPRO

    Hello all,

    I am starting an essay for college on COINTELPRO's against Martin Luther King. I am trying to get as many sources on this as possible. Does anyone know of some good documentary sources online relating to the FBI and King? I need documents and books.

    Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Tramp Shots: Facial Recognition Software

    I'm trying to find the software or at least a company that would be able to use it. After watching a documentary on card counters yesterday, I know that a company called 'Griffin' has the technology and uses it in casinos worldwide to spot known counters.

    I'm looking for something basic at the moment, but professional assistance would be infinitely better.

    Charles Harrelson dies

    According to Kenny Gallo (a convicted mafia associate in the FBI witness programme) Charles Harrelson was writing a book about his life. In it he was going to admit that he only carried out six assassinations. However, he was involved in plots of a lot more killings that date back to the early 1960s. The memoir, and other papers, has been left to his three sons. It will be interesting if the “memoir” will ever get published.

    Not to take credit for Harrelson writing his memoirs, but I suggsted it to him in a letter in 2004. I wonder if he heeded my advice that people would be interested to hear his life story, not least of all his children.

    The story of Harrelson having written a memoir appeared in the national enquirer after his death. It's nice to get a source for the informaion though.

    MLK assassination documentary

    Indeed we do James. I found it interesting to see a newsreel featuring Percy Foreman, Rays lawyer. I have done some work on Foreman, he features heavily in my presentation on Harrelson.

    Foreman ran his business out of the capitol bar in Houston. He had his own phone in the place. LBJ and John Connally were frequentors of the bar also.

    You are young to know about Country Joe McDonald. How did you find out about him?

    Don McLean was also a great protest singer. (He has not made a record for sometime.) He was a great live performer. You can see some examples of his performances in this list.

    I am taking a course called 'US Politics and Culture of the 60's', so Country Joe came up. I think you are familiar with moodle, our lecturer posts youtube videos relevant to the days lecture, that is where I first saw country joe. I really love the protest songs. I have ordered a Phil Ochs cd and just received one by Tom Paxton.

    Any other protest singers would be of great interest to me.

    I will indeed be linking to this site, as it is after all the most important discussion site. Usually people who have even a passing interest in the case will get drawn into the discussions on the forum and will thus retain their ethusiasm for the case.

    Sites such as facebook are very useful, given that it is free and is readily accessible by most students in the country.
