Chris Bennett
It’s posted by photographer Traces of Texas, who says a reader’s aunt took it “moments or minutes before Kennedy was assassinated.” The time of the photo is unknown. But I thought it was an interesting shot as it's completely new and I don't remember seeing pictures from this high an angle. Can anyone ID who is on the back bumper? David Von Pein
Clint Hill is on the bumper. The photo was taken in front of the Adolphus Hotel on Main Street. Chris Bennett
Thank you for the info, David. Looks like their claim of "a Google image search, which reveals no other instances of the photo" wasn't exactly correct:) -Chris
David Von Pein
In 2011, Gary Mack provided this information regarding the picture: "I receive a phone call or email at least once a month from someone else who has that picture and claims they or a relative took it. The picture was actually shot by the house photographer of the Adolphus Hotel from their Main Street balcony. His name, which was stamped on the back of original prints, was Francis, if I remember correctly. Many copies were sold by the hotel and others and the original negative's whereabouts is unknown, even to the hotel (which is under different ownership now)." -- Gary Mack Edited June 9, 2012 by David Von Pein
David Von Pein
Thank you, Chris Bennett, for posting the motorcade photo above. I noted it's a higher-resolution version than the one I had on my Kennedy Photos site. So I've replaced the old one with the better-quality one. Much obliged. And for the anti-SBTers, please note the "inboard" status of Governor Connally in the photo:

Patrick Block
I've seen this photo a number of times before over the years. It's interesting as it is one of two photos with Greer having opened his door. The second photo shows his door open momentarily, I seem to recall, near the fatal turn. Can anyone confirm my memory of that second door opening?
James R Gordon
Patrick, Are you confusing the Greer door opening on Houston Street, with the LBJ follow up car which did have a door open? James.
Robin Unger
This image seems to be similar Greer's door partially open, and it also shows Clint Hill riding on the back of the limo. Guest Tom Scully
It looks like his door is open during low speed, crowded curbside condition to brushback those who might otherwise block the path of the motorcycle escort.
