Toby Kearns
Hi all, I think the redacted name in this file is Carl E Jenkins. https://www.archives.gov/files/research/jfk/releases/104-10225-10007.pdf Page 15 has a letter to Him in regard to his retirement has what look like to me the words "Dear Carl".. Oops.. The dates of service seem to line up, 1952-1973.. Diving into it now, there are'n as many redactions in this file compared to David Morales' file.. Cheers, Toby Edited November 8, 2017 by Toby Kearns
Larry Hancock
Very interesting Toby, we do have Jenkins "resume" and can compare that to this....at first glance there do appear to be either some contradictions or some revelations - this person was Deputy and then acting Chief of Station in Havana before Castro booted us out...and some of the documents appear to show him more as a manager than a field operations person which Jenkins was. Also he married a Cuban woman inside Cuba and then apparently got a divorce in Mexico. That would be certainly be new. Going to require a lot more work to make sure but in particular look for some assignments in SE Asia and for assignment to JM/WAVE in an operations position as early as 1960.... David Boylan
Page 22 refers to a "Mr. Williamson." As he is a .......of his additional home leave and the charge to his additional annual leave by adjusting Mr. Williamson's escrow leave account as appropriate. Page 37 also refers to Mr. Williamson and his marriage to an alien. Edited November 8, 2017 by David Boylan
David Boylan
Looks like Earl Williamson: http://aarclibrary.org/2365-2/ Earl Williamson (Madrid A/COS by 12/31/64: MADR 2694, 104-10216-10236) [See Appendix Four WATL]
Larry Hancock
Good work as always David! Also so much for the much touted name protection in the releases, looks like that was probably the only reason they withheld this in the first place - lets hope they make more of the same mistakes. Toby Kearns
Thanks Larry and David, my mistake here I thought I was onto something. Not to worry. I’ll keep digging. Too many redactions in this stuff, kind of makes the release a farce. Though, it was probably to be expected. Cheers.
