Jean Ceulemans Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 (edited) From a Frontline interview with Robert Oswald: "because of the clothes he purchased at the time" What was that about ? Did he buy like a winter-outfit before going to sunny CA ? I do not recall reading anything else about that. Couldn't it have to do with his 30 days leave he had when he had just gotten back from Japan ? Edited December 16, 2023 by Jean Ceulemans
Larry Hancock Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Oswald did say on a couple of occasions that he had begun thinking of actually going to Russia as earl as in his time Japan. Of course it can get pretty chilly during the Japanese winter as well. I would think that Robert's remark did indeed relate to his visit to Robert and his mother on leave after his return to the US, December time frame, and Robert might have noticed his having new and exceptionally heavy weather clothing at that time.
Jean Ceulemans Posted December 8, 2023 Author Posted December 8, 2023 Thanks, it probably was something like that, but one never knows I guess, I haven't seen any details on his expenses in Japan
