Tim Gratz
Of minor interest is a column by society columnist Dominick Dunne in the latest issue of Vanity Fair. He discusses Robert Maheu, who, as we all know, recruited the Mafia to kill Castro on behalf of the CIA. He also discusses Phyllis McGuire, former mistress of Chicago don Sam Giancana. Both Maheu and McGuire are living in Vegas. Maheu's wife of many, many years died last year. Edited February 14, 2005 by Tim Gratz
Shanet Clark
Great lead, Tim.... I read Maheu's biography by Ron Laytner, and Maheu has mixed feelings. He harbors a lot of resentment about Howard Hughes and the people who took over the Hughes empire. He probably has similar feeling of being misused concerning JOHNNY ROSELLI and the "Murder Incorporated we were running down in the Caribbean" (quoting LBJ) A legitimate writer or investigator (who had his facts straight and was well prepared) could probably get some juicy material out of Bob Maheu. He, more than anyone, understands the relationships between Howard Hughes, the CIA, Robert Bennett and the Watergate burglary. Since he is a known sponsor and go between with JM/WAVE and organized crime figures, he should be pursued.

He' appeared in various TV documentaries about both Howard and his relatonship with Las Veges in general, gambling interests, specifically -- Travel Channel, History Channel, etc, have aired these programs during the past 8 years, multiple times. I doubt his address is listed - he certainly hasn't hid... None of these folks hide, IF the price is right! David Healy Edited February 15, 2005 by David G.
