Lee Harvey Oswald's sojourn to Russia, while conveniently giving credentials to the 'lone-nut Marxist' label as JFK's assassin has, for the most part been viewed as being peripheral to the assassination. I have noticed that the Forum index does not have a topic for the 'White Russian Solidarists.' While I believe it would be stretching the bounds of credibility to start this topic to add another candidate to the already lengthy list of 'groups' Mafia, CIA, Anti-Castro Cuban's etc who 'killed Kennedy,' I do not think the assassination can be resolved without some clarification of what exactly was transpiring in 'pre-assassination Dallas' within this group.

For the time being I am including this passage from John Judge to get the ball rolling.

His father was a top level employee of the Nobel oil family, which was like the Rockefellers here, prior to the [bolshevik] revolution. They lost their fortune there. Von went into the CIA-funded Tolstoy Foundation, which was a center for the White Russians during the whole period....We found out when Abraham Zapruder died that he's a White Russian. Marina's uncle was a high-ranking military officer in the NKVD, but her family was White Russian and anti-communist. And Gehlen infiltrated a lot of the KGB and Soviet military and intelligence structures during the war, and left agents in place. There's reason to believe that a number of people that were involved with Oswald, even in the Soviet Union, also tie to this International Fascism".

For the record, one member of this group was 'brought in to assist' in the post-assassination questioning of Marina Oswald; it has been alleged that the quality of the translating could have been better

I've been to The Tryall Club in Montego Bay Jamaica, on the North Shore, Mo Bay, about a two hour car ride from Orcabessa, near Ocho Rios, where Ian Fleming built his beach house Goldeneye, and near where Noel Coward lived at Firefly. The Tryall Club was at one time owned by Sir William Stevenson (INTREPID), who led the population of Jamaica's North Shore with the intelligence types.

The flavor of Jamaica's North Shore was captured in Fleming's Dr. No, not the first book (Casino Royale) but the first 007 movie. Dr. No, the guano Island mastermind, is based in part on William Grace.

Both John Connally and White Russian Jean DeMenil had private residences at the Tryall Club, which certainly qualifies as a Flemingesque hideout.

Thanks for the input, I'm sure that was an interesting trip, as to the White Russian/Solidarists angle there are some other interesting facts;

Jean DeMenil was an intruiging individual, in addition to other companies he was head of Schlumberger Corporation, Houma Raid, Gordon Novel etc.

It is alleged by Judge that Zapruder was a White Russian, it is dissapointing that Adamson had nothing to contribute during his visit to the Forum, as far as contributing to the knowledge base of the Forum. I am sure he could offer more info than some;

Also as to DeMohrenschildt the Haiti visit where he met with Clemard Charles, ties in to the fact that Charles later was involved in an arms deal with Edward Browder, who goes full circle when you factor in that Browder and Jack Ruby had some dealings with arms as well during the 50's with regards to Castro (According to David Scheim - Contract on America.)

I also feel that there is a subplot to the assassination with regards to the

White Russian's on one hand and the Paine's and the Catherwood Foundation on the other, I don't think it is a coincidence that some of Oswald's letters refer to heading to Baltimore a major city with regards to the Quaker hierarchy, and the individual that ostensibly was with Oswald in Mexico City who was a Quaker. I am beginning to have the perception that Oswald's comment regarding Ruth Paine and the station wagon

"That station wagon belongs to Mrs. Ruth Paine. Don't try to tie her into this"

is a reflection of an underlying (intel?) relationship that he was trying to conceal until the 'proper time' and/or his not realizing how cooperative she was going to be with the Warren Commission, after his untimely demise. By the way, did you know that Ruth Paine stated in regards to Oswald

"I'm glad he's dead?"

She said that in the very forgotten Redbook interview from July 1964. I used to be exasperated at how the Paines seem so insulated from scrutiny until I read their genealogy.

Considering that the "financial cost" for the Iraq War does not kick in until after Dubya leaves office, I do not believe he will be enshrined on Mount Rushmore, alongside the other President's, who contributed to everything that is good about America.

Triangle of Death is one of the worst books ever about the Kennedy Assassination because it takes very serious an essential elements of what went down in Dallas and cloaks it in the spin of "Kennedy" being part and parcel of the Diem's murder's when the reality is [as any real historian, familiar with the territory, will acknowledge is] that Kennedy's complicity in the Diem murders, is about as real as the forged cables Eduardo was putting in the safe."

Tolstoy's Daughter Looks Back on Life With Novelist

Alexandra Tolstoy was born 88 years ago into a world that no longer exists.

The 12th of the great Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy's 13 children, she grew up in czarist Russia nourished by the writing of her father, the baroque ritual of the Russian Orthodox Church and the beauty of the Russian countryside. At the age of 17, she became her father's confidential secretary. At 26 she was at his side when he left the family estate to seek a more "spiritual" life and instead found death on the journey. He died of pneumonia at 82.

Alexandra remained in Russia through the revolution and after to edit the first 92-volume edition of her father's work, and to establish the Tolstoy Museum.

Then, in 1929, she left her homeland on what the Soviet government believed was to be a brief visit to Japan. Once there she bought a steerage class passage and set sail for America with $50 dollars in her pocket.

A staunch anti-Communist, she has never returned to Russia but has dedicated the rest of her life to helping the members of the White Russian refugees and to preserving their culture through the Tolstoy Foundation .

A small woman, she sat dressed in a blue and white seersucker dress the day of our interview. Her white hair drawn back in a bun, she sat in her small study in her cottage at Tolstoy Farm, with her two fox terrier's Mickey and Betsy, at her feet. At her side was her cane, which someone --- she forgets who---had painted flowers

She walks with a cane because of arthritis, but she is exceptionally vigorous for her age. Until last year, when she was weakened by the flu, she drove a car and enjoyed fishing.

The walls of her cottage are decorated with photographs of family and friends, President Nixon sketches and watercolors of Russian scenes. Books are stacked on tables, shelves and windowsills. A pile of manila folders holds notes and four completed chapters for the book she is writing on the Tolstoy Foundation.

She still gardens and outside her roses were in bloom. Last year at this time there were tomatoes---- "two-pounders," she said proudly---- but the rain spoiled them this year.

"I don't know which country I like best," she say's after 45 years in America. But she misses Russia. The people most of all, then nature.

"Where I was born it's a very beautiful place, an estate called Yasnaia Poliana," she said. "There are forests and there are meadows, forests and then meadows. My father used to go riding on horseback and I would follow him.

"He had a fine horse and he would jump over streams. I would take the other horse who was not so good and would land sometimes in the middle of the stream.

""Sometimes we would lose our way, and let the horses take us home---a horse never loses

himself. He always knows the way back."

Miss Tolstoy, the only surviving Tolstoy child, was born after her father had completed his monumental "War and Peace" and "Anna Karenina"

She remembers him after he had put his masterpieces from his mind and only wanted to

write evangelical tales for Russian peasants.

"When people asked him what is the greatest work he wrote, he said 'The stories for the simple folk, for the peasants," Miss Tolstoy said.

"One day we were reading "War and Peace" aloud and he came into the room and he stood there with his hands inside the belt of his blouse and he said 'What's that? It isn't badly written.'

"He was a vegetarian and a pacifist but when a mosquito sat on the head of Chertkov,

(a "Tolstoy follower) he slapped the mosquito and killed it without a thought."

Chertkov turned to him and said, "Oh, how could you do that, Lyovochka, to take the life of an innocent mosquito."

"All of us roared with laughter----the narrowness of some of his disciples. But my father didn't laugh. He was very confused, and that made us laugh even more." He would write a first draft, I would copy it with big margins all around and bring it to him at nine in the morning, At one or half past one, he would come to lunch and I would pick up the manuscript and there was nothing left--- he had written in the margins, in between each line, everywhere there was space. And I would copy it again. I remember I copied one article fifty times.

Miss Tolstoy, (she is a countess, her father a count, preferred not to use the tile, and she feels the same) has lived and worked for more than three decades with Tatiana Schaufuss,

another exile.

Together, 33 years ago, they founded the Tolstoy Foundation which has helped to resettle 23,000 Russian refugees and was instrumental in blocking Soviet attempts to force tens of thousands more to return to the Soviet Union after World War II.

Recently they built a 96 bed nursing home for aged refugees on their 50 acre home in this Hudson River community near New York City. Next they want to raise money to add a museum and an Institute of Russian studies on the land given to them by the Harkness family.

When in Dallas, Madame Nhu was hosted by an anti-Communist oil man named Dudley Dougherty who had ties to all the various right-wing associations. She even gave a speech at his ranch.
