  1. Does anyone have any information on a man named Fernandez Feito?

Does James or Robin have a photo of Mr. Feito?

Fernandez Feito was the alias of Ignacio Hernandez Garcia, a Cuban Exile who worked for Ramon Buenrostro Cortez in Texas. They worked for the Intercontinental Company of Garland, Texas, a subsidiary of Lionel Corporation. 'Feito' also worked with Lorenzo Saunders during this time.

  2. (There isn't already a thread on this subject is there?) There just might be something to this:

    http://www.haxan.com/portfolio/freakylinks...~1/VOODOO~1.HTM

FWIW, I believe stuff like this gives credence to those that put the JFK Assassination in the realm of 'Frank Sinatra's drummer was on the grassy knoll,' and 'extra-terrestrials saw Kennedy's Space Program as threat to alien pre-eminence' theories.

    Agreed. B)

  3. Looks like the number is

    1642

    possibly

    1042

1642, except it's possibly 1643, there is a slight curvature when edge detecting that indicates a possible 3. It would be nice to see other versions in other save formats. The last two letters on the lower line could be RE,AC the first in that line may be N

I am thinking it is 1644, I am trying to enhance it though. From preliminary enhancement of the bottom half I get F81 183 38JC

  4. Last night I watched on C-Span an interesting forum on the Lincoln assassination. Participants included several historians who have written recent books about the assassination. There was a fairly large audience. (The conference actually took place on November 18, 2005.)

There was a somewhat spirited debate re why Booth shot Lincoln.

The moderator took an audience poll of two questions. There was a wide consensus that there was no larger conspiracy than Booth and his cohorts, and an almost unanimous agreement that Dr. Mudd was in fact a conspirator.

It may be pessimistic to say so but perhaps the issues surrounding the Kennedy assassination will still be debated in Dallas 100 years from now. Query whether any of the participants will include descendants of those now active in the research community?

Which reminds me: does anyone know if CSPAN filmed the conference in DC in 2005 (as it did the 2004 conference)?

    Gratz,

Interesting question. Unfortunately I don't know the answer. Hey, have you ever noticed that the names "Abraham Lincoln" and "John F. Kennedy" both have an even number of letters??

    _____________________________________

There are many "coincidences" between Lincoln and Kennedy:

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.

John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.

John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.

Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.

Both were shot in the head.

    Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.

    Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln.

    Both were assassinated by Southerners.

    Both were succeeded by Southerners.

    Both successors were named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.

Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth was born in 1839.

Lee Harvey Oswald was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.

Both names are comprised of fifteen letters

Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse.

Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

    :lol:AND NOW FOR THE CORRECTIONS

  5. Mark and Ron, thanks for the thoughts,

Was just wondering if this car could possibly be with the fire department or possibly a taxicab? There are no lights or sirens on the roof and the DPD Criminal Investigation Departments cars were unmarked.

  6. This is not about Jack, but I had no idea where else to put it. :rant

Nobody will ever know what went on in the mind of Ed Gein. Just what was the dark and terrible world he inhabited that caused him to rob graves? What made him create a second skin of female skin, live in what was little more than a human abattoir and murder two women who he subsequently mutilated and disembowelled?

After his arrest, Gein related in detail to psychiatrists how he had robbed graves, but was never able to explain what had happened when he murdered, he only ever confessed to one killing and all he would say was that “I had a compulsion to do it”

As in many psychologically damaged people, the seeds of Gein’s madness were sown years before. In 1906 Augusta and George Gein had their second child in the small town of La Crosse, Wisconsin. To Augustas bitter disappointment, it was another boy. Fanatically religious, Augusta loathed and mistrusted men - with some justification, since her husband would often beat her whilst drunk. She named her new baby Edward Theodore and vowed he would not turn out like the rest of the male sex, promising to protect him from corrupting influences of the lustful, godless men that she saw all around her. Indeed, until she died 39 years later, Augusta completely dominated Ed and from this developed an intense love-hate relationship between mother and son - a relationship that quiet possibly spawned the horrific personality disorder that drove Gein to commit his crimes.

As he grew up, Gein was allowed no friends. The moment he showed any signs of becoming close to any of his peers, Augusta would find fault with the child or the family. She saw evil everywhere and it was her duty to protect her sons, Henry and Ed, by effectively isolating them from the wicked world.

Virtue was her main obsession. She preached about sex, which she saw as a filthy activity and made her sons promise to never engage in this vice.

Such a childhood was already having a perverse effect on her youngest son, who would later describe one of his earliest childhood memories as peering through the open door of the slaughter house behind his parents grocery store and watching, mesmerised, as his father held up a trussed pig. Then, he remembered in vivid detail, how his mother skilfully slit its belly and drew out the entrails with a long knife.

When Ed was 12, his parents sold their store in La Crosse and moved to a 160 acre smallholding near Plainfield. The upheaval, the isolation of the new surroundings and his mothers continued suspicion of outsiders caused the young boy to withdraw completely. Apart from having to attend school, where he did not fit in at all well, the only company he had was his older brother. The two boys did not get along.

To those that knew him at this stage in his life. Ed was a shy, sensitive boy who could not bear the sight of blood. Privately, however, he showed an unnatural interest in gory horror and war comics.

Gein had no happy memories of his early years. He recalled later that his mother never hugged him, yet he never questioned her beliefs and adored her more than anybody. In 1940 George Gein died from cirrhosis of the liver, the reward for decades of hard drinking. As a result, Henry and Ed were left to run the farm.

Since Henry was the older of the two, Ed was forced into a subservient role, a position he resented. In the same year, one of the barns at the Gein farm caught fire and as the two brothers desperately fought the flames they became separated. When the fire subsided, Henry was found dead in a corner. Despite extensive bruising to the face, the coroners verdict was death by asphyxiation - but in view of what was to happen it seems possible that Henry may have been his brothers first victim.

The shock of her sons death caused Augusta to suffer a stroke and, although nursed by Ed, she died within a year. He was now totally alone in a world that he did not understand, a world he had been told was evil and hostile. His mother had been the only person to show him any attention, unhealthy as it was, so it is not surprising that the targets of his affection should be women who resembled her.

A keen reader, Gein became obsessed with the atrocities committed by the Nazis in World War Two, and the medical experiments carried out by them on the Jews. He also became fascinated by the female anatomy, from whos company his mother had effectively excluded him. He fed his interest with medical encyclopaedias and pornographic magazines.

As he retreated more and more into a fantasy world, the coldness, violence and repression of his childhood became hideously twisted in his mind. As much as he hated his mother, he also wanted to become like her.

Approaching a living person was impossible, so Gein began to seek solace in the graveyards of Wisconsin, always visiting at the time of the full moon. There he exhumed bodies of women, as well as body parts, and transported them back to his increasingly ramshackle farm. As he reported later to psychiatrists, wearing the skins he fashioned from their bodies gave him a sense of intense gratification. Grotesque as the conduct was, Gein only became really dangerous in 1954 when he began to target women who were alive.

In December of that year a middle aged widow called Mary Hogan, who bore more than a striking resemblance to Augusta Gein, disappeared from the bar she owned. Three years later, another women in her 50’s, Bernice Worden, who ran the local Plainfield hardware store, also vanished. But this time, her son Frank, the local sheriff’s deputy, noted that the ‘local weirdo’, Ed Gein, had been the last person to be served at the store.

After his arrest, Gein confessed to the killing (by shooting) of Mrs Worden, but could not remember if he had killed Mary Hogan. Once subjected to psychiatric examination, he talked calmly about the grave robbing, the flaying and dismemberments, showing no remorse and sounding proud of his anatomical knowledge.

Due to Geins mental state, he was judged unfit to stand trial for ten years. When he was eventually tried, he was found guilty of murdering both women, but not guilty on grounds of insanity. He spent the rest of his days in asylums.

Ed Gein committed crimes so horrific that he remains one of the most depraved killers of the 20th century. His hideous crimes have been the inspiration for films such as Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and more recently for the Silence of the Lambs. These films as much as anything else have ensured his continuing notoriety.

  7. I have reports of the following:

Barbee Specimen: Found embedded in the roof of a building located at 1615 Stemmons Freeway by William Barbee in 1966. The building, about 1/4 a mile away from the TSBD was in the line of fire from the sixth floor window. It was handed over to the FBI where they determined the bullet to be a .30 calibre full metal jacketed military bullet.

This bullet is consistent with that which could be shot from the CIA's silenced M-1 .30 calibre carbine.

Lester Specimen: A bullet fragment found in Dealey Plaza by Richard Lester in 1974. Its precise location was reported to be 500 yards from the TSBD and 61 paces east of the triple overpass abutment. It was handed over to the FBI, the FBI concluded that the fragment, which consisted of the base portion of a bullet and weighed 52.7 grains, was consistent with the diameter of a 6.5mm bullet. It was also determined that the fragment came from a metal jacketed soft point or hollow point sporting bullet. The rifling characteristics did not match those of a Mannlicher-Carcano.

  8. Da Da Da Da Da DE DE De. And this just in from our Canadian news desk, LYNNE FOSTER BLAMES NIXON'S GHOST FOR STRANGE DEATH OF DEER. Well it makes about as much sence as most of her deluded ramblings.........

    Stephen and the gang:

Have you noticed her absence? To what do we attribute this? (John's common sense kicking in :tomatoes or she found other places to haunt.) Either way.....tis a nice Christmas present. Another was that the local 3rd court of appeals here in AUstin has said "No and no" re Tom Delay. No special Christmas favors to that Republican (alleged) criminal.

    Dawn

I actually have noticed her absence, they have made mine even happier holidays :D

    Merry Christmas everyone :)

  9. Mike:

    Thanks.

I have seen errors in the legal system, including a friend who I am quite certain was wrongfully convicted of a matter for which he spent one year in jail. Granted, my experience is "anecdotal" but it has convinced me that there are errors in capital cases as well. If the error rate was 1 in 10,000 innocent people executed, I might have a different opinion but I fear the error rate may be much higher. The number of people proven innocent by DNA testing would seem to so indicate.

Deterrent effect? Well, the person executed will certainly never be a recidivist, or kill a prison guard, or another prisoner. So certainly there is this deterrent effect, at least.

Nevertheless, I am convinced that regardless how painless the mechanism of execution may be, the possibility of executing innocent persons requires the end of capital punishment in most cases.

I agree, if there is even the smallest chance of an innocent person being executed then capital punishment should be ended. Unfortunately it is not just a small chance, many people are found to be innocent after they are executed.

However, what about these innocent people being given life sentences? I think a life sentence could be as bad, if not worse than the death penalty.

  10. I also downloaded it to try it out. I don't know enough people who have accounts with gmail though, they all have MSN. So I think I will stick to MSN. :)

  11. (i) All members have to provide a biography. A link to this biography should be added to their signature (see below for instructions how to do this).

(ii) All members should use a photograph of themselves as an avatar (see below for instructions how to do this). If you still find you have problems with this please email me and I will help you with this.

(iii) Wherever possible, members should give references (books, documents, etc) concerning the comments that they make. This will help those carrying out academic research into this area.

(iv) Members should not make personal attacks on other members. Nor should references be made to their abilities as researchers. Most importantly, the motivations of the poster should not be questioned. At all times members should concentrate on what is being said, rather than who is saying it. It is up to the reader to look at the biography submitted by the poster, to judge whether they are telling the truth or not. The word “xxxx” is banned from use on the forum.

    (v) Members should take care over the accuracy of their postings. This includes spellings, capital letters, etc. This is important as the forum is read by young students and therefore we should not be setting them a bad example. I would suggest you write initially in a word processing program that automatically checks spellings, etc. The finished work can then be copied and posted into the forum.

(vi) Make sure your postings are relevant to the thread. Please start another thread if your comments do not belong to any existing threads.

(vii) When you start a thread please make sure it is relevant to the events surrounding the assassination of JFK. We have other areas of the forum where you can post about Politics, History, Mass Media, Sociology, etc.

(viii) Members should use the quote function of the forum when replying to people’s posts. To do this click the REPLY button. Pressing this button will allow you to reply to a topic, and have the text from a particular reply quoted in your own reply. This can be edited so that only the relevant passage is included. If you want to reply to several postings, copy and paste the relevant comments into your own answer. To make this clear use the colour options to highlight what someone else is saying. Type in the name of the person after the quotation.

(ix) It helps the reader if the text of your posts goes right across the page. If you find this has not happened, use the EDIT button to make sure it does. I do this for you whenever I can but I find it very time-consuming so I would prefer it if you did it yourself.

    (x) There is no need to add your own name to postings. The forum software does this automatically.

Ms. Foster has broken rules 4 and 6 on many occasions . My question is why is she still here? Three strikes and your out I say Ms. Foster, if we followed this rule, you would have been banned long ago.

  12. Again, wikipedia provides some interesting information.

Reading up earlier, I also found that the U.S still legalises hanging, fire ring squad and the gas chamber as a form of execution, however, prisoners in most states are allowed to choose their method of death, and rarely do they choose these forms over the virtually painless lethal injection

  13. Massive riots have erupted in Sydney after a ten year build up was boiled over by the beating of two surf life savers by Lebanese gangs.

Over 5,000 Australians have rioted in the beachside town of Cronulla, bashing people of middle eastern descent.

retaliation attacks have followed by Lebanese gangs who are bashing innocent people, setting fire to cars and buildings and stabbing innocent bystanders.

today, a Lebanese friend of mine was threatened by a white Australian man with a bashing and rape.

We see this elsewhere but never do we think it will happen on our doorstep.
