  1. Savastano's piece is also useful in that it links to most of the known documents relative to Souetre, the one I posted above is evidently from Oswald's 201 file [unusual place to put this, I think] https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=95892&#relPageId=3
  2. Savastano makes a pretty good argument against Souetre having had any involvement: https://www.tpaak.com/the-french-deception
  3. I'm referencing work done by J. Gary Shaw. I'm not familiar with any made-up story by a reporter. Below is a document referencing the FBI's CIA liaison, Sam Papich, with commentsd concerning how Souetre had been expelled from the U.S. More recent writing about this has been undertaken by Carmine Savastano.
  4. McCord was protecting Helms, and Helms was protecting many. Both individuals, and the institution itself. We all know Helms was in a position to know about many of the things that happened 63' to '68 -- and what was McCord called? "Helms' zap-man" ? What was McCord doing with Phillips concerning the FPCC in a foreign country, and was that related to Oswald? Surely.
  5. I'm going to have to re-read TMWKTM. I read it in 1998, it's been a very long time since I looked at it and I just do not remember "Col. Jack Canon"
  6. This is interesting. Is someone going write about this at some point soon? Always been interested about Souetre, moreso after Hunt's "confession" Did not buy the Rivele stuff in The Men Who Killed Kennedy, but was persuaded by others regarding Souetre specifically. My own opinion, which is just a "hunch" -- is that perhaps someone was travelling under Souetre's identity. I say that because it's just too pat that there are records naming this guy as being expelled from the country and in Dallas that day. He was a professional and those who ran this operation were professionals and surely they would have arranged in advance an exfiltration plan, identity papers, etc. So it seems to me that if we have Soetre arrested, or otherwise taken into custody and a paper trail created--that has to be intentional. Perhaps a false trail of sorts.
  7. Wonder if he might try to shoehorn Loran Hall into this. (see: the story about Hall where he gave his son or stepson a Manlicher-Carcano rifle and told him to hide it, and Hall's comments over the years that allude to it) He might mention how Loran Hall and Gerry Hemming both say they were offered money to take the job. Both have said in interviews from the late 70s that they were offered money to do the job, using almost identical language.
  8. Pretty sure he will likely name Jean Souetre there ... a known French OAS affiliated "assassin" that some records indicate was in Dallas that day. However, the guy went on to live a full life and one account said he worked as security for a casino in later years. Which does not track: anyone who took the JFK job would have been financially set and also likely would have been rubbed out. No loose ends. I think he will also name Herminio Diaz Garcia, using the Cuban DGI/Fabian Escalante stuff & Tony Cuesta stuff on him. This leaves two others. Wonder who he will name, certainly if any evidence has been out on this the dogged researchers who have worked this case for 20+ years would already know about it and I seriously doubt that Reiner uncovered anything new for this podcast: it's just a script written by Hoffman based on existing and known details.
  9. I agree. Turned off immediately. Also had the same reaction when he said that Joannides "ran the black ops program that recruited Oswald" It is important to get details right if you're talking about the CIA given they are a prime suspect and we have a lot of real details (not questionable ones, or made-up stuff) that can and should be covered. If Reiner had consulted Jim, he could have done a good fact-checking to ensure the script doesn't disinform the listener.
  10. I still can't find it - turns out the Soledad O'Brien page only has short clips. I've tried searching YouTube, using Google, using Yandex ... if they have this on YouTube it's not easy to find!
  11. Do you have a link? I have searched YT for "Who Killed JFK?" and IHeartRadio and not finding it in the results. I also looked at IHeartRadio's official YT page and it's just short clips. Also looked at IHeartRadio's official page for the podcast and it just has links to listen to it there (not on YT) Many thanks
  12. Was not aware it was on YT. Thank you for that, a transcript would save me a lot of time.
  13. Well, moving forensic evidence then not telling anyone about it - when you're a LEO participating in the biggest investigation of your career - that is incompetence to my mind. But I guess it is harsh. Hindsight is 20/20 right? I can buy not thinking clearly, and I can absolutely buy fear. Imagine being an FBI agent in 1963, if you are the guy who finds key evidence you're going to be terrified about how Mr. Hoover will have his eyes on you. I can imagine someone in USSS might feel similar pressure and have similar fears and just not want to be involved at all. Occams Razor tells us it's likely just a mistake. It's very hard to know.
  14. FWIW, I can absolutely buy incompetence and fear as being motivations to keep quiet and ditch the bullet.
  15. Has he said that--that he realized it was wrong?
  16. That is a very good point. Perhaps he's just making this up to sell a book.
  17. Right. And people, upon being informed of this, are quite naturally very suspicious. Paul Landis' story serves to try to explain the planting of this bullet. I'm not buying. Interesting stuff re: Kinney. Had never heard that before.
  18. Some of my best friends are seniors. A very good friend who I talked to almost every day died last year, he was 72. Right now another very good friend is in his 70s. Anyway. They both are/were very sharp and absolutely would never fabricate something. Wish I could figure out Landis' motive for saying all this. It has the impression of bolstering the chain of custody and origin of CE399. Before Landis came out with his story this magic bullet was found on a stretcher in the hospital, which is suspicious. Then DiEugenio & co in JFK Revisited documented major chain of custody problems with that bullet after it was found. Landis' comments have the appearance of trying to make CE399's discovery somehow more credible and believable.
  19. This is a partial transcript of what Landis said. 17:39 "I raced to the President's limosine. Mrs. Kennedy was sitting on left center of the rear seat. There was a pool of blood next to Mrs. Kennedy. She stood up, right behind where she had been sitting there was a pristine bullet. I picked this bullet up. It was not disformed other than recognized striations on it." I'm not buying it It doesn't make sense to remove forensic evidence in what (then) could have been viewed as a possible Soviet assassination plot. It was the most important investigation in 100 years. You're working for the premiere law enforcement protective organization. So you just break chain of custody and move forensic evience from one place to another and say absolutely nothing about it?
  20. The only thing that makes sense is that he impulsively picked it up, then he got scared about getting involved and put it on the stretcher because he was fearful about becoming involved in the investigation in any way. However, until he says that, his story will remain not credible. He needs to explain why he broke chain of custody like that. Has anyone asked him WHY he put the bullet on the stretcher? I'm not at all familiar with his story. I am not going to buy his book. The only exposure I have with the Landis material is that Reiner podcast.
  21. Anyway. Why wouldn't Landis have told someone in USSS or FBI that he had found a bullet? Why would he release custody of the bullet and move it to a stretcher? Wouldn't he know how important chain of custody is? I can buy him picking the bullet up. Once he's done that, however, he "owns" that evidence - he has to document that he picked it up. You don't just go throw it on a stretcher. It makes no sense whatsoever for Landis to have been totally silent for decades about that bullet. Not buying it! I'm going to go get some fried chicken. Discuss.
