  1. Jeremy continues to ignore my repeated question, but I’ll nevertheless answer his question for the umpteeth time: The purpose of the Oswald project was to give a Russian-speaking youth an American identity so he could eventually travel to Russia and secretly understand more of what was being said in Russian by people around him. As almost everyone except Jeremy understands, starting with a youth who already understood the Russian language had a huge advantage over anyone who might begin taking instructions as an adult or near adult. It was also handy that Harvey was an orphan, with no real parents to look after him. In his manuscript, George de Mohrenschildt described Oswald’s amazing skill with the Russian language. Don’t forget that Professor Vladimir Petrov, chair of the Slavic Language Department at Yale University, stated that he was quite certain that a letter written by LHO was actually written by a “Russian with an imperfect knowledge of the English language.” And.... For the FOURTH time now…. Will Jeremy EVER share with us the earliest date he believes LHO was impersonated? If he ever answers this question, we could then take a look to see if there is strong evidence of an earlier impersonation. He probably won’t respond, of course, because he knows it will prompt me to post more EVIDENCE, and he is obviously trying to avoid that.
  2. Mr. Bojczuk has admitted that Classic Oswald® was impersonated numerous times. As always, he wants H&L proponents to answer all sorts of questions. But when we ask him a simple question, he just ignores it. So,for the third time now…. Will Jeremy share with us the earliest date he believes LHO was impersonated? If he did so, we could then take a look to see if there is strong evidence of an earlier impersonation. He won’t respond to this question, of course, because he knows it will prompt me to post more EVIDENCE, and he is obviously trying to avoid that.
  3. Mark, That's probably pretty close to what happened. For example, medics at Moscow’s Botkinskaya Hospital, where Oswald was taken after his suicide “attempt,” noted: “The patient apparently understands the questions asked in Russian. Sometimes he answers correctly, but immediately states that he does not understand what was asked.”
  4. It’s amazing how hard Jeremy is working to exorcise the Harvey and Lee Menace® from the psyches of just three “cultists.” He knows, of course, that interest in two Oswalds is far wider than he wants us to believe. Dr. George Schwimmer’s best selling book DOPPELGANGER is now in it’s sixth edition. From the publisher’s blurb on Amazon: Sixth Edition, with proof that Harvey Oswald was CIA, April, 2022.....THE GREATEST MURDER MYSTERY IN UNITED STATES HISTORY - THE ENIGMA OF LEE HARVEY OSWALD - HAS BEEN SOLVED! TWO ‘LEE HARVEY OSWALDS’ WERE AT THE TEXAS SCHOOL BOOK DEPOSITORY ON NOVEMBER 22, 1963 – ONE WAS AN ASSASSIN ON THE SIXTH FLOOR, THE OTHER WAS A PATSY DOWNSTAIRS ON THE FRONT STEPS!.... Pat Shannon’s book is also based almost entirely on Harvey and Lee. David Mantik, Joseph McBride, Dr. James Norwood, David Josephs, Robert Groden, among many others, including many others on this forum, have held Harvey and Lee in the highest regard. If memory serves, Mr. Mantik once said it was his favorite book on the subject. John Armstrong has been a guest on Len Osanic's Black Op Radio at least a dozen times. Two YouTube movies by “MrChrillemannen,”presenting John Armstrong interviews with accompanying graphics, have been viewed nearly 700,000 times! Captain Westbrook, officer Tippit and Oswald's double and Who impersonated Lee Harvey Oswald? Jeremy’s desperate and disjointed attempts to discredit H&L on one hand claims that we are “cultists” following “gospel,” and on the other hand tries to mock us because we are obviously uncertain of Harvey Oswald’s exact age. Jeremy sure does demand that we answer all kinds of questions, but he is obviously loathe to answer questions we put to him. So…. Since Jeremy admits that there “were ad hoc impersonations to implicate Oswald as the sort of person who might go on to shoot a president.,” I’ll ask this question again: If Mr. Bojczuk would care to share the earliest date he believes LHO was impersonated, we could then take a look to see if there is strong evidence of an earlier impersonation. Jeremy? In another desperate attempt to discredit H&L research, in the post directly above this one Mr. Bojczuk refers to John Butler as "the world's most incompetent photo analyst." Not only is this untrue, but it is a clear violation of Forum rules. To see what Jeremy Bojczuk is so desperately trying to discredit, feel free to visit the Harvey and Lee website.
  5. Ah, so we both agree that LHO was repeatedly impersonated; we just disagree on how long the impersonation lasted. That’s progress, I guess. If Mr. Bojczuk would care to share the earliest date he believes LHO was impersonated, we could then take a look to see if there is strong evidence of an earlier impersonation. I doubt Jeremy will do this, because he seems to hate seeing me post evidence, going so far as calling the evidence “spam.” Jeremy? Why would we accept such conflicting observations when we have clear evidence from medical professionals who measured the height difference between the two LHOs? The Oswald on a slab in the Dallas morgue was reported to be 5’ 9” (69 inches) tall. But the 9/3/59 USMC medical exam and the 10/12/59 Armed Forces Report of Transfer or Discharge both list his height at 5’11”. That’s a two-inch difference. Are we to believe on young man shrunk this much in four years?
  6. If Marina was telling the truth, that pretty much settles this issue. In all honesty, though, I do have questions about her believability on this.
  7. Exactly! That's my belief too. There simply was no reason for Oswald to travel to New Orleans simply to get a low paying job. This was clearly, in my mind at least, part of the patsyfication project. (How's that for a word?)
  8. That’s all very true. But what Jeremy doesn’t say is that Frank Wisner, who helped bring thousands of Eastern European WWII refugees to the US, worked at both the OSS and then, starting in 1947, at the CIA. I still think it is likely that this plan was hatched while the OSS was in existence. VE Day was May 8, 1945. Even before then, there were untold numbers of European War orphans liberated from the Nazis. That gave probably at least half a year for some of those orphans to be brought to the U.S. under OSS oversight. Remember what Dr. Hartogs wrote about Oswald in his book, The Two Assassins: "... a slender dark-haired boy with a pale, haunted face.... I remember thinking how slight he seemed for his thirteen years. He had an underfed look, reminiscent of the starved children I had seen in concentration camps." There is some evidence of two Oswalds dating back to 1945. As John A. wrote on our website, “In September (1945), according to Robert Oswald, the family drove in Ekdahl's car from Dallas to Port Gibson, MS where Robert and John [Pic] entered the Chamberlain Hunt Military Academy. Robert Oswald told the FBI that his mother, Ekdahl, and LEE then drove to Boston, MA where they resided until June, 1946. However, records indicate that Marguerite returned to Texas, and show that LEE Harvey Oswald entered the first grade in Mrs Ella Russell's class at the Benbrook Common School on October 31st, 1945.” Of course, it’s possible that Robert got the years wrong, as he did for Stripling School. But it is hard to figure another likely time for the Boston episode. Evidence for two Oswalds becomes much stronger by 1947. But the fact that Molody assumed another person’s identity and was sent to the U.S. at the age of 7 is a clear indication that Soviet Intel believed that learning foreign languages and customs from an early age was valuable enough to go to extraordinary measure to implement the ruse. Just as was done in the Oswald Project. The Cubans sure had a doppelganger project going with the DeLaGuardia twins. Probably because one was available; an orphan to boot, who had no real family to watch out for him. It was available, convenient, and worked beautifully. Harvey Oswald could answer specific questions about the American-born Oswald’s life because he too had experienced many of them. Also, we only know LEE Oswald's exact age, not Harvey's. I appreciate that, Jeremy. In fact, it is more important to me that people understand this than the fact that there were two LHOs. Nonetheless, I think it is impossible to understand this case without understanding the nature of the Oswald project, which may have started out as an entirely patriotic plan, but was ultimately taken over by snakes. Classic Oswald®, pretending for a moment there was only one, was CLEARLY among the most impersonated Americans in our history. The simplest explanation is that there were two of them. Do you deny this? If you do, I'll have to start posting the EVIDENCE again. Yes, I do think that is what happened, although Harvey was probably a little older than Lee. The two Oswalds looked similar, but were hardly identical. Laura Kittrell, who interviewed both of them, told Gaeton Fonzi that they “looked the same, the same general outline and coloring and build….” It is a simple matter to look at children and estimate how they will appear when grown. Just look at the childhood pictures of movie stars. It is often easy to match the child with the adult. Women may be a bit more difficult since they're more inclined to change hairstyles, etc., but for men, at least, it is pretty clear. John Butler and Sandy Larsen have some wonderful posts in this very thread about the photographed appearances of the two Oswalds. Sandy’s post is HERE.
  9. (This is my second attempt to post this note. The first attempt got messed up somehow.) Sandy, I may know why the patsy was chosen. Many of us believe the immediate intention of the JFK assassination plotters was to provoke an invasion of Cuba. With his assignment to Russia, his staged Fair Play for Cuba activities, and his commie-loving history dating back to the Marine Corps, it was simple to depict Oswald as a communist with ties to Castro. Other factors may well have been instrumental in the setting up of Harvey. Since he had ties to both the CIA and the FBI, it could be assumed in advance that government investigators, especially J. Edgar Hoover, would easily be coaxed into a full scale and elaborate cover-up. It seems to me that a pre-selected patsy was absolutely critical to ensure the plotters could escape detection and prosecution. Without one, the search for them surely would have been relentless. And for that role, someone was needed who had demonstrated an ability to follow orders, even difficult ones, in order to be in the right place at the right time. (Think what Oswald did to stop the Soviet authorities from kicking him out of Russia. It must have been tough to slit his wrist and fake that suicide attempt.) On top of all that, the Agency controllers already had a trained look-alike who could run around the Dallas area in the weeks leading up to the assassination and make the patsy seem all-so-guilty. With all the above, or even some of the above, the poor schmuck Harvey Oswald was a pretty smart choice as the patsy-to-be. And do we really think that the men who brought us MK Ultra would have any qualms about shafting their loyal asset?

  11. Sandy, That’s a good summary of H&L. I’m only hesitant to fully accept Marina’s statement that Harvey spoke Russian with a Baltic accent. There is some evidence that she was hiding her English language abilities. In an interview with Dick Russell, Robert Webster said that he met with Marina Oswald several times in Leningrad, and that she spoke good English, although with a heavy accent. There is plenty of evidence that LHO hid his Russian language skills from many people in Russia, although he may have departed that in his pillow talk with Marina. For example, medics at Moscow’s Botkinskaya Hospital, where Oswald was taken after his suicide “attempt,” noted: “The patient apparently understands the questions asked in Russian. Sometimes he answers correctly, but immediately states that he does not understand what was asked.”
  12. Jeremy Bojczuk repeatedly asks about why the CIA recruited the Russian-speaking Oswald. He should know that the evidence for two Oswalds indicates the project was started before the official organization of the CIA. It probably originated in an Office of Strategic Services program under the direction of Frank Wisner, who relocated thousands of Europeans to the U.S. in the aftermath of World War II. Why did the CIA continue the project? I have repeatedly said that one of the main advantages of a project like H&L is built-in deniability, but neither I nor Mr. Bojczuk can pretend to understand the motives of an organization that unleashed MK ULTRA on thousands of unsuspecting Americans, including American children. Nevertheless, the advantages of setting up a Russian-speaking child to be a Cold War spy in the Soviet Union are obvious. The Russians sent Konon Molody to Berkely, California at the age of 7 for equally obvious reasons. Evidence for two Oswalds thunders like a freight train throughout this case. Mr. Bojczuk almost never debates the actual evidence compiled by John A. He just claims it is all debunked someplace else, usually at ROKC. I slogged through much of the material there years ago and have no plans to do so again. The EVIDENCE doesn’t change, and NONE of John A’s evidence is truly debunked there or anywhere else. If Jeremy felt he truly debunk it here, why wouldn’t he do so? In one of the few times Mr. Bojczuk pointed to a post on the Ed Forum that attempted to debunk H&L facts, he proudly pointed to THIS POST, which falsely claimed numerous Fort Worth newspaper accounts of LHO at Stripling School were just based on erroneous information supplied by Robert Oswald in 1959. Even a cursory look at the articles shows that new information was included in the reports from 2002 and 2017. The disappearance of the Stripling school records that Frank Kudlaty gave the FBI is entirely consistent with what is in the public record about the disappearance of ALL the original records about LHO from the New York City school system. All the original school records (as well as employment records) for Lee Harvey Oswald disappeared, almost certainly while in FBI possession. In 1995, the ARRB’s Joe Freeman noted that “all the school and employment records I looked at in the Warren Commission Exhibit files at Archives II were copies, not originals.”
  13. John, I meant that John Armstrong didn’t make use of the Steenbarger interview. Her names appears nowhere in his book or our website, even though the report is clearly in his Baylor U. files. It is an interesting document. After all, Harvey Oswald boarded the Marion Lykes on Sept. 19, 1959 and by mid-October was in Helsinki and days later in Russia. Next time I talk to him, I’ll try to remember to ask John A. why he didn’t use it. Thanks for digging this up. First time I’ve seen it. On the spy-craft issues, I read somewhere that Mata Hari used stage doubles to stand in for her while she was involved in espionage activities, and that Allen Dulles talked about the use of look-alikes in one of his books, but I looked a short time ago and couldn’t find evidence about either claim, so I left it out in the post above.
  14. Translation: Jim Hargrove keeps posting EVIDENCE of two Oswald’s and Jeremy Boczuk has to work hard to forget it. For example, he continuously forgets that the use of imposters and look-alikes is common in spycraft. For example: Russian Spy Gordon Lonsdale/Konon Molody A Russian named Konon Molody, born in Moscow in 1922, was sent to Berkley, California at the age of seven to learn English and develop familiarity with American customs. Ten years later, he returned to the USSR, was commissioned in the Soviet Navy, and started espionage training. By 1954, Molody sailed to Canada with a birth certificate and other paperwork for a Canadian named Gordon Arnold Lonsdale who had died c. 1943. As “Gordon Lonsdale,” Molody had a significant career as a Soviet spy, including interactions with Rudolph Abel in the U.S. and with the British military. He was convicted of espionage in London in 1961. Antonio and Patricio DeLaGuardia The book “Castro’s Final Hour” included a photograph of Antonio and Patricio DeLaGuardia, top spies for Cuba during the 1960s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. They were identical twins, useful, among other ways, for providing an alibi when one or the other got in trouble. Mossad officer Michael Ross More recently, a fellow named Michael Ross was born in British Columbia in 1961. He traveled to Israel in 1982 where he eventually married an Israeli woman and joined the Mossad. According to the Canadian daily National Post (1/14/12), “Over the next 14 years, the Canadian-Israeli assumed six different identities — one cover lasted a full seven years — and led a life wildly different from the one his family believed true so he could gather intelligence and seduce defectors.” Harvey and Lee Oswald And, of course, we have our own look-alikes who Laura Kittrell, who interviewed both of them, told Gaeton Fonzi that they “looked the same, the same general outline and coloring and build….”
  15. That's interesting, John. I don't remember ever hearing about her, but John A. has a file on her at his Baylor University online site which you can access by clicking on THIS LINK. For some reason, John either decided not to use it or perhaps forgot about it.
  16. Sandy and John, This is fascinating work you guys are doing. I had long ago given up hope that the photographic record was trustworthy enough to shed much light on the true Oswalds, but perhaps there is hope after all. John A. and I have talked about this a lot, and he, like us, believes the photos are pretty untrustworthy. John’s technique, for his book and our website, was to use the mostly “official” photos that seemed to match the biographical data he compiled on the Oswalds and to just emphasize a few photos that were clearly composites, the most well-known being this one: You guys may not be aware that back in 2015 a Dallas attorney named Drew Phipps did an ambitious study he called “Pixel Counting Biometric Comparison of Oswald photos.” He compared ratios of "pupil-to-pupil / width of eye" (called P/W hereafter), "pupil-to-pupil / length of nose" (called P/N hereafter), "pupil-to-pupil / nose-to-top-lip" (called P/L hereafter) and "pupil-to-pupil / earlobe-to-earlobe (called P/E hereafter) between images to try to determine whether they showed the same young man. He cautiously summarized his data this way: Visual Conclusions: Unless there is something terribly wrong with my methodology, (or my spreadsheet skills), or the photos are simply too low resolution for a significant biometric comparison, there is some evidence that there is more than one individual here. If I had to clump the photos in two different piles, it looks to me like photos 1, 2, 3, 9 and 13 are the same individual, and photos 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, and 12 are the same individual. The full study is still up on the Deep Politics Forum HERE. Unfortunately, unless you are a member of the Deep Politics Forum, you will not be able to see the images Mr. Phipps worked with. I believe it is still free to join.
  17. John, Thanks for this excellent list. The USMC section of H&L is extraordinarily detailed and it is hard to keep all of it in mind without reviewing the text again and again. Lists like the one above are very helpful, and the way you think outside the box, mixing John A's work with your own research, is often fascinating. I'm not always convinced, but every bit of it is worth pursuing. Thanks again!
  18. What we do know about that photo is quite interesting. Here's John A's write-up on it from our website. The actual page is HERE. Evolution of the "Defection" Photo A substantial amount of work by unknown persons went into developing what ultimately became the 1959 "defection" photo of "Lee Harvey Oswald" that was published in the Nov. 1, 1959 edition of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Poor quality image of Lee Oswald in Japan, probably taken by George "Hans" Wilkens Here, a better verison of the photo has been retouched to eliminate background from head area Image now has added lines and apparent facial altering This washed-out photo of Lee Oswald was published by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram when Harvey Oswald "defected." It resembles the original "Hans" Wilkens photo above, but with the background removed and some facial features altered. The photo above was purchased by the author from AP/World Wide Photos. The typed label to the left indicates: "This is a retransmission of FW1 of Nov. 1 to provide better copy." Associated Press/Wide World Photos This evidence of photo manipulation begs the obvious questions: Who did it and for what purpose? Who managed to get the odd version of the original photo placed in the Fort Worth newspaper? Few individuals in the days before computers became commonplace had the skills to make such alterations, or in this case the motivation to do so. A newspaper or wire service would have access to people with the required photo retouching and alteration abilities, but it is difficult to imagine why such an organization would have any interest in making these odd modifications. An intelligence agency, on the other hand, intent on creating a fog of public perception around an undercover agent being sent to the Soviet Union on assignment, would have every reason--and certainly the ability--to make these strange alterations. In the years since the Kennedy assassination, it has also been learned that the CIA had numerous "elite media assets" placed with many U.S. print and electronic media news organizations. Many of these assets would have had the ability to to slip the odd "defection" photograph into the public record.
  19. On November 18, 1994, Jim Marrs testified before the ARRB and said, ijn part, the following: Finally, I will leave you the story of Oswald attending W.C. Stripling Junior High School in Fort Worth, both his mother and his brother Robert told the Warren Commission that Lee entered junior high school in Fort Worth, and Robert specifically named Stripling Junior High School, and yet records presented by the Commission clearly show that Lee entered junior high school in New York where he and his mother had moved in August of 1952. There was no further mention of Stripling Junior High. However, just very recently we located and spoke with a Mr. Frank Kudlaty who now lives in Waco just south of here. In 1963, Mr. Kudlaty was the Assistant Principal at W.C. Stripling High School. He said that the day after the assassination, a Saturday, his principal ordered him to go to the school and provide FBI agents with records on Lee Harvey Oswald. He said he handed over a file of school records to the FBI. There is no mention of these records in the Warren Commission Report or volumes. Mr. Kudlaty told us that this was the first time since 1963 that anyone had even asked him about these records, and lady and gentlemen, this is one of my main points. There has yet to be a true and full investigation of this case. Since Mr. Marrs testified long before John A. interviewed Frank Kudlaty, people trying to make all the Stripling School evidence go away had better start ragging on Jim Marrs in addition to John A, but…. A funny thing about real evidence that reaches the public record is that it doesn’t go away no matter how hard you try to suppress it.
  20. The insults from Jeremy Boczuk never end, and are in clear violation of forum rules. I promote the Harvey and Lee evidence because it is the clear truth. As I said on the previous page, anyone who even bothers to read the six Fort Worth newspaper articles (or excerpts) over the years can plainly see that they do NOT contain just recycled commentary, as claimed in the Mark Stevens post. New information, NOT included in the first article(s), is introduced several times. I'm not going to post the links again. They're all on p.12 of this thread. As John A. wrote on our website, early Saturday morning, the day after the assassination, Mr. Wylie, principal of Stripling Junior High, called the assistant principal, Frank Kudlaty, at his home . Mr. Wylie told Kudlaty to immediately go to Stripling and meet two FBI agents who would arrive shortly and to give them Oswald's school records. In 1963 school records from prior years were kept at each school. In the mid-1960s school records from all Ft. Worth schools were transferred to the new Ft. Worth Independent School District where they were organized and stored Stripling assistant principal Frank Kudlay said, "I lived close to the school at that time and arrived at the school before they [the FBI agents] got there. I went into the school and located Oswald's records. In fact I found both Lee Harvey and Robert Oswald's records for Stripling. I opened Lee Harvey Oswald's folder and briefly looked over his records and noted that he had attended less than a full semester at Stripling. He had been there long enough to receive grades for a 6-week period, but not long enough to receive semester grades. I think he was in the 9th grade. I put the records back into the folder and waited for the FBI agents. When they arrived, they showed me their badges for identification and asked for the records. I told them that I had located both Lee Harvey and Robert Oswald's records and asked if they wanted both. They told me they only wanted Lee Harvey Oswald's records. After I handed the records to them, they thanked me and left. I locked up the school and went home."
  21. Anyone who even bothers to read the six Fort Worth newspaper articles (or excerpts) over the years can plainly see that they do NOT contain just recycled commentary. New information, NOT included in the first article(s), is introduced several times. I'm not going to post the links again. They're all above.
  22. Mr. Bojczuk uses more and more words simply to restate his attempts to debunk one Oswald’s Stripling School attendance by asking us to believe that 6 local newspaper articles over a period of four decades were wrong, that Robert Oswald was wrong when he swore to the WC that LHO attended Stripling, that Robert Galindo, the principal of Stripling School, was wrong when he said it was “common knowledge” that LHO attended Stripling, that Fran Schubert was wrong or lying when she said on film that she saw LHO walk home to 2220 Thomas Place just across the street from Stripling School, and that the assistant principal of Stripling School, Frank Kudlaty, completely made up his filmed statement that he gave LHO’s Stripling records to the FBI! Mr. Bojczuk has apparently forgotten that the FBI/Warren Commission accidentally published records indicating that, for the the year just before the Stripling attendance we are discussing here, LHO simultaneously attended schools in both New York City and New Orleans. With the forbearance of the Ed Forum administrators, I’ll remind Mr. B. about this even though it appeared in the very post he claims “destroyed” the Stripling School evidence. So…. In the fall semester of 1953, one LHO attended Public School 44 in the Bronx borough of New York City, where he was present for 62 full days and 5 half days, was absent 3 full days and 8 half days, for a total accounting of 78 days. During the very same fall semester of 1953, the other LHO was present at Beauregard Junior High School in New Orleans for 89 school days. The Beauregard record obviously indicates that Harvey Oswald was a part-time student for this semester at Beauregard. I believe this was carefully planned to gradually re-introduce him to New Orleans and its public school system. NYC obviously had been a real problem, not for Lee, but for Harvey. Harvey’s truancy from school and his entanglement in NYC courts threatened to expose the Oswald Project.
  23. Exactly! Six different news reports from the daily paper covering Stripling School over a period of more than 40 years were all wrong that LHO attended Stripling, and no one ever pointed out the “error” and printed a retraction. Robert Oswald was wrong when he swore LHO attended Stripling. Robert Galindo, the principal of Stripling School, was wrong when he told John A. that it was “common knowledge” that LHO attended Stripling. Stripling student Fran Schubert was wrong when she said, in a YouTube video, that she saw LHO walk home to 2220 Thomas Place just across the street from Stripling The assistant principal of Stripling School completely made up his story that he gave LHO’s Stripling records to the FBI! A post “destroying” all the evidence above is what Jeremy Bojczuk called the “classic example” of H&L debunking!! If that's the best they've got, they've got nothing at all. Of course, Mr. Bojczuk will post hundreds of links to places he pretends debunk Harvey and Lee, though it can't be done here. What a hoot!
  24. It's obvious that Mr. Bojczuk doesn't know much about the book he works so hard to discredit. As John A. wrote nearly two decades ago in the opening pages of Harvey and Lee (emphasis added): The use of twins allows an intelligence agency to place "one person" in different places at the same time. The first twin could be involved in an illegal or clandestine operation, while the second twin was in a different location with people who could provide an alibi if necessary. If the first twin was identified by witnesses as having committed a crime, then he/she could be apprehended by authorities. When questioned by authorities, the first twin would simply provide the names of witnesses who were with his twin in a different location when the crime was committed. When authorities interviewed those witnesses, and verified the story, the first twin would be released. Unless the authorities knew about the second twin, it would be very difficult to charge the first twin with a crime. In a professional and carefully planned covert operation no one would realize what had happened, and both twins would walk away. A similar operation could involve one of the twins, "C" (criminal), committing a crime while the second twin, "P" (the Patsy), was in a different location and knew nothing about what has happening. Twin "C" would commit the crime in the presence of witnesses, but twin "P" would be identified as the culprit and subsequently arrested. "P" would adamantly deny any involvement in the crime, but with numerous witnesses placing him at the scene of the crime his denials would not be believed. If the crime was serious, and the "Patsy" was killed before he had an opportunity to tell authorities about his twin, then the truth about the crime might never be known. An operation involving twins or "doubles," if carefully planned, is almost sure to succeed. The use of twins has provided intelligence agencies with "plausible deniability" for years, and allowed them to deny involvement in illegal operations. "Plausible deniability" is an important part of all CIA operations, and was a term often used by CIA Director Allen Dulles to explain away troubling situations. [H&L pp. 8-9]
  25. As I said earlier, one of the major advantages of doubling political operatives is total DENIABILITY for any and every action taken by either player. The example I gave is that one LHO couldn't possibly have been at Bolton Ford in New Orleans because he was in Russia at the time. The FBI tried to use this technique to discredit the Bolton Ford employees. This deniability has been used time and time again in this very case as a way of discrediting witnesses. For another example, Marita Lorenz was threatened with imprisonment because, in her HSCA sworn testimony, she asserted that she met LHO many times involving anti-Castro activities, starting in 1960: Mr. Fithian: "Now is it your testimony that the first time you saw Oswald would have been in the camps in the Everglades?"Marita Lorenz: "The very first time, no. I saw him in the Safehouse and then in the camps."Mr. Fithian: "And that first meeting at the Safehouse would have been within a year of the Bay of Pigs?"Marita Lorenz: "I would say 1960."Mr. Fithian: "It would be some time during 1960?"Marita Lorenz: "Late 1960."Mr. Fithian: "All right. Now I want to be sure that I have your dates correct. You said the first meeting of LEE Harvey Oswald, the first time you saw him, was at a Safehouse in Miami in 1960."Marita Lorenz: "Yes."Mr. Fithian: "The next time or times that you saw him were during training at a camp in the Everglades, various places in the Everglades, in early 1960, 1961 period?"Marita Lorenz: "Yes."Mr. Fithian: "And after that you saw him at the Safehouse the second time?"Marita Lorenz: "Yes."Mr. Fithian: "What makes you so sure of the dates. Within a year of the first meeting in the Safehouse and the meeting at the camps in the Everglades, is there anything else you could match that up with?"Marita Lorenz: "The photographs, the events that took place. the photographs that Alex (Rorke) took. Everywhere we went Alex took pictures."Mr. Fithian: "This was prior to the Bay of Pigs?"Marita Lorenz: "Yes, April, 1961, was the Bay of Pigs." Mr. Fithian: "And you are sure you saw him (Oswald) before April, 1961."Marita Lorenz: "Yes, because Alex took the pictures."Mr. Fithian: "And the whole purpose of the training was to somehow participate or help in the Bay of Pigs.Marita Lorenz: "Yes."Mr. Fithian: "Did you see Oswald at any time in the intervening two years between early 1961 prior to April of 1961 and the September-October Safehouse meeting in 1963?"Marita Lorenz: "No, but Frank (Sturgis) kept in touch with me. Alex kept in touch with me."Mr. Fithian: "Mrs. Lorenz, has your attorney explained what perjury before a congressional committee is all about?"Marita Lorenz: "That is right, yes."Mr. Fithian: "In any way do you want to change your testimony on these dates?"Marita Lorenz: "No, I do not."Mr. Fithian: "There is adequate documentary evidence that Lee Harvey Oswald did not indeed return from the Soviet Union until June of 1962. Marita Lorenz: "I don't know about that." Mr. Fithian: "Therefore you could not have met him at the Safehouse in 1960, you could not have seen him in the Everglades in 1960 and 1961, and you could not have taken a picture in those areas and could not have a picture for the dates of that time."Marita Lorenz: "No?"Mr. Fithian: "It is not possible."Marita Lorenz: "I don't know about that."Mr. Fithian: "Now can you explain to the committee why you gave us this false information as far as dates?"Marita Lorenz: "I did not give you false information."Mr. Fithian: "Mrs. Lorenz, I went over your testimony very carefully a moment ago and you assured me that you met Lee Harvey Oswald prior to the Bay of Pigs."Marita Lorenz: "I did."Mr. Fithian: "On two occasions."Marita Lorenz: "Yes."Mr. Fithian: "Lee Harvey Oswald was in Russia during that entire period."Marita Lorenz: "I do not know that. I did not know that. The Lee Harvey Oswald that I met was the same in that picture, the one in the Safehouse. the same one that Frank knows. I do not know where he was according to your information. I do not know. I never read up on anything about these theories that are coming out about him."Mr. Fithian: "This is not a matter of theory."Marita Lorenz: "I know I am telling the truth. If you don't want it, that's too bad, you know. I am here to gain nothing, you know. Nothing. Nothing at all. You are trying a homicide investigation that should be solved, you know. Don't dispute me or put me on trial."Mr. Fithian: "Only if we can have full and truthful testimony."Marita Lorenz: "You have got it. You have it from me. I don't know about the other people. I have nothing to lose and nothing to hide-nothing.Mr. Fithian: "And it is your testimony that you are certain that the person you met at the Safehouse and at the camps of the Everglades is the same person that you met in Dallas."Marita Lorenz: "Yes, it is."Mr. Fithian: "Do you have any explanation for how we come up with two Lee Harvey Oswalds during this period?"Marita Lorenz: "I have no explanation. I know the man I met; he was a creep. I didn't like him. I don't have to be here at all. I have nothing to gain.Mr. Fithian: "Thank you. That is all."
