  1. To set the stage: @Greg Doudna, frequent poster on EF and skeptic of the datebook maintained by intel contractor Pierre Lafitte ergo highly critical of Albarelli's Coup in Dallas, recently introduced an analysis of the claims made by James Odell Estes that he had seen Governor John Connally at a meeting with Jack Ruby at the Carousel Club which was also attended by another man referred to as "Nick." Greg writes, A Marcello payoff to Connally? About 5 days or so later Estes saw "Lee" again with a man named "Nick" (well-dressed mobster type driving a maroon Cadillac with Louisiana plates). "Lee" and Nick went to Ruby's office. A two hour meeting, after which Estes says the bartender named "Mike" literally broke all the glasswear used in that meeting--the wine bottles and the glasses used--and disposed of it. (To avoid risk of fingerprints? Estes does not say.) The next day, mid-PM, Estes said he saw Lee, Nick, and Chuck come in the back door of the Carousel Club and go to Ruby's office. 15 minutes later Chuck went down and met two men coming in the back door. One, says Estes, was Governor Connally. Connally the governor of Texas. Comment: on its face this looks like a story of a bribe being paid to Connally, with "Nick" the well-dressed mobster type from Louisiana maybe from some mob connection in New Orleans (source of the money?). . . 'Nick" -- well-dressed, flashy jewelry, "mob" type visiting from Louisiana, unspecified business with Ruby, New Orleans accent, age 30s-40s, 6'2", 200-plus lbs, big man, moustache, black hair cut short, drove maroon Cadillac with Louisiana plates A serious candidate for "Nick" is New Orleans businessman Nicholas Popich, thirty-four years of age in 1963. https://obits.nola.com/us/obituaries/nola/name/nicholas-popich-obituary?id=10203236 Nick Popich, founder of Popich Marine Construction, was co-owner and operator of Vieux Carré, one of numerous Carlos Marcello restaurant investments in the French Quarter. For our interests, Hank Albarelli has reported that Pierre Lafitte was employed as a sous chef in NOLA in the early 1960s and although the private dining club in Clay Shaw's original Trade Mart — precursor to the Plimsoll Club which opened in the new building in 1967 with Lafitte hired as head chef — is a reasonable option, it's logical to also consider that Nick Popich/Carlos Marcello employed Lafitte at the Vieux Carré in the early 1960s. During that period, Lafitte also worked briefly at Reily Coffee sometime prior to Lee Harvey Oswald and Judyth Baker. Documents confirm that Nick Popich also had a longstanding personal and business relationship with William "Bill" Dalzell, a subject of keen interest to FBI SA William de Brueys and a character who appears in Lafitte's 1963 datebook. It was also "Nick" Popich who hosted the May 1963 Bobby Baker entourage in New Orleans which included his girlfriend Carole Tyler, Paul Aguirre (Puerto Rican developer), and alleged East German honey trap Ellen Rometsch who is referred to frequently in Pierre Lafitte's 1963 records. Govt. docs confirm that Rometsch, alleged to have had several sexual encounters with President Kennedy, would quietly return to East Germany following intense scrutiny by Hoover's FBI in the summer of '63. Kennedy's good friend since their Senate days, Florida Sen. Sen. George Smathers is identified in an obscure gossip column as having been familiar with Baker's trip to NOLA with Rometsch. Smathers had been instrumental in seeing to it that Bobby Baker would benefit from the newly established Serv-U Corporation. Of note, Lafitte is also aware of their presence in Dallas, making a note that Carole was there followed by the initials G.D. (might this refer to General Dynamics of Ft. Worth?). As an aside, it is well documented that Smathers was responsible for Judyth Baker’s arrival in New Orleans within days of the Baker/Tyler/Aguirre/Rometsch trip which was, coincidentally, around the time of Judyth's initial encounter with LHO. Now, to the alleged episode at the Carousel Club as described by James Odell Estes, and a working hypothesis: I know we all agreed in our last call that the possibility of John Connally waltzing into the Carousel Club, as per the claims of James Odell Estes, might broach the absurd, but in light of Connally's history with both Texas oilman Clint Murchison and Bobby Baker and the brewing TFX scandal at the time of the Baker/Carole/Ella trip to Dallas and New Orleans, the possibility that Connally might risk a personal appearance at the Carousel warrants further consideration. Remember that Connally was Sec. Navy a member of JCS when Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara insisted the TFX project be jump started. I think I shared that Gov. Connally's history with Bobby Baker and with Clint Murchison prompted me to reconsider Odell Estes' claims. Setting aside his story about "Lee," the references to "Nick" at the meeting(s) with Ruby and a man he believed to be Governor John Connally added further fuel. I believe the prime candidate for Nick, to date, would be Nick Popich who had hosted Baker and Carole, and Aguirre, and Ella in NOLA in May. An initial stab at advancing the argument: Connally had been responsible for Murchison's prized lobbyist Bobby Baker's early rise in the Democratic Party in the 1940s when he encouraged Sen. Lyndon Johnson to bring him on board his staff. Barring any significant shift in their relationship, it's reasonable to assume Connally and Baker remained friendly even if at arm's length in 1963 when Murchison and Baker were engaged in numerous shady business deals including in Haiti. Connally was also the long time attorney for Murchison's partner Sid Richardson and had assumed responsibility for the hugely successful independent oilman's estate upon his death in the fall of 1959; in that role Connally joined Murchison's board of the Del Mar Race Track so we have at least one practical pivot point to connect both Murchison and Baker directly with Connally in 1963. Remember also that FBI Dir. J. Edgar Hoover was the guest of Murchison in Del Mar in August 1963 — just weeks after his agents discretely interviewed Ellen Rometsch about her liaisons formed with DC powerbrokers while working at Baker's Quorum Club — as was his annual custom. From there, we pivot back to Bobby Baker's association with Sen. George Smathers, Kennedy confidant Grant Stockdale, and Serv-U Corp, prompting our attention toward Pennsylvania developer Matthew McClosky who also invested in Serv-U. Weirdly, the newly appointed Amb. to Ireland McClosky along with previous Amb. Scott McLeod — former agent of the FBI and drinking buddy of Robert Maheau — were bookends to Grant Stockdale's ambassadorial post to Dublin. Lafitte's datebook indicates Stockdale and SS Otto Skorzeny were still in communication in 1963 and Hank indicates that Ilse Skorzeny visited the Stockdales in Florida. It should also be noted that Murchison's partner Sid Richardson commissioned the Dallas-based O'Neil Ford architectural firm which included a young Arch Swank to design a compound in the Canary Islands, a destination (according to Major Ralph Ganis) of OAS Captain Jean Rene Souetre and Otto Skorzeny in early '63. The Richardson compound had been sold by then, so I'm not suggesting any training took place on this property. I'm simply noting the coincidence. For the record, Arch's wife, Patsy Swank was instrumental in Dick Stolley rushing to Dallas to negotiate on behalf of Time/LIFE for the Zapruder film.) Note: In 1957, Eisenhower's Amb. to Ireland Scott McLeod — a drinking buddy of Robert Maheu — was in position to establish initial rapport with Otto and Ilse as they made inroads into the purchase of property in Co. Kildare, near a major military training facility. McLeod would have then handed the couple off to Grant Stockdale in '61, who then handed them off to his colleague at Serv-U, Matthew McClosky in late '62. Thru Serv-U Corp, McClosky had obviously also associated with George Smathers and Bobby Baker; throughout 1963 as the Serve-U scandal surfaced, McClosky was posted at the embassy in Dublin while the Skorzenys were developing strategy for the plot to assassinate Kennedy in Dallas — details of which could have taken place under his nose and/or that of the Franco's representatives in Dublin. And not to overstate the connection, but McClosky had recently served as treasurer of the Dem National Committee with obvious close ties to Lyndon Johnson and John Connally. Considering this milieu, and the possibility Estes was a credible witness recounting a meeting with "Nick," Ruby and Connally: If Nick Popich was Baker's good friend as suggested in news accounts of the New Orleans trip with Rometsch, and Baker was Murchison's trusted lobbyist, is it possible that both Popich and Bobby Baker also knew Murchison's representative/attorney for his dealings in Haiti, Herbert Itkin? Recall that Itkin also had longstanding connections in Haiti on behalf of Oswald's friend George de Mohrenschildt. Further, in July, Haiti was on the mind of the gunrunner Jack Ruby worried most about, Tom Davis, identified in Lafitte's datebook. Lafitte leaves us clues to all but Connally. Why? Which brings us full circle to the question: should James Odell Estes's story about meetings between "Nick" Popich, Gov. Connally and Jack Ruby be dismissed out of hand? Or, should we ask what else could have been in play that might compel John Connally to risk a meeting at Ruby's Carousel with another "Nick"? This document may shed further light on the Itkin entries in the Lafitte datebook, and possible relevance to the aforementioned. https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=12882#relPageId=2 Notes on John Connally in context of Lafitte records: · John M. 2. That's reasonable enough, Jim. As a female, I feel comfortable speculating that she is quite serious and Jack is paying attention. Maybe she's discussing Cuba.
  3. I wasn't suggesting they were 'huddled alone in the shadows' at the Krim gathering, but asking whether their body language suggests more familiarity than you apparently contend.
  4. Obviously I'm familiar with her singing Happy Birthday. This photo is from Krim's Manhattan apartment, and of course it's infamous. I'm surprised you might be oblivious to the body language. Note her expression, Robert's tense stature, and note JFK's demeanor — hardly relaxed if you ask me. Ask any woman if it appears these three had only just met.
  5. Friday, November 22, 1963, Trump's business and ideological mentor Roy Cohn was the subject of a luncheon meeting at Hickory Hill between AG Robert Kennedy and US Atty. for the Southern District Robert Morgenthau when Robert received the call from FBI Dir. Hoover. Roy Cohn served on Joe McCarthy's red-baiting team alongside Robert Morris (Dallas chapter of the John Birch Society, WACL and YAF), identified as a member of the aforementioned American Committee for Aid to Katanga Freedom Fighters - along with Jack Crichton of the 488th and General Charles Willoughby, close confidant of Allen Dulles. Trump's father was an avowed Nazi sympathizer. Acorns and trees, Benjamin, and you either understand or you don't but willful ignorance is not an excuse. The cosmic justice that Trump is under fire from the Southern District of NY is not lost on those of us who grasp the ideological trajectory. He too thought he could "make up his own rules." The Foreshadowing Friendship It was Joe McCarthy’s legal counsel Roy Cohn, a founding member of the American Jewish League Against Communism with Isaac Don Levine, that would later leave an ethical and philosophical imprint on a brash young man from Queens, Donald J. Trump. By the time Cohn first met him in 1973, Trump was already in line to inherit control of his father’s real estate empire, but it was Cohn, as much as Trump’s father who was a known Nazi sympathizer, that schooled the would-be real estate tycoon in the art of war in business, inculcating in Donald his own disdain for democratic government and its institutions. In the estimation of British historian Erick Hobsbawm, author of “Uncommon People: Resistance, Rebellion and Jazz,” Cohn made his legal and political career “in a milieu where money and power override rules and law—indeed where the ability to get, and get away with, what lesser citizens cannot, is what proves membership of an elite.” In an interview for their July 1981 issue, Cohn told Penthouse Magazine, “I decided long ago to make up my own rules.” What was it Trump said during the Charlottesville crisis? "There are good people on both sides" By contrast, this was Robert Kennedy's response to racial injustice (a bit more history you will likely ignore): Though the Heavens Fall . . . A Haunting Gibe. After several abortive attempts to get [James] Meredith registered, it became dismayingly obvious that it was going to take a very large force to carry out the court's orders. Attorney General Robert Kennedy summoned 500-odd federal marshals and deputy marshals from all over the nation to the U.S. Naval Air Station near Memphis. Tenn.. 80 miles from Oxford. President Kennedy put aides to work drafting two speeches to the nation—one to be delivered if Barnett stepped aside, the other if he persisted in his defiance. The President still hoped to avoid sending military forces into Oxford. At one point during the 1960 campaign, he had said in reference to Little Rock: "There is more power in the presidency than to let things drift and then suddenly call out the troops." All during the Ole Miss crisis, that gibe at Eisenhower must have haunted John Kennedy. He desperately wanted to be able to avoid any accusations that he had let things drift and then suddenly called out the troops. https://content.time.com/time/subscriber/article/0,33009,829233-2,00.html
  6. Yeah, that scene. I think you're correct, and I too was immersed in these prophecies via United Methodist vacation Bible school. Russia The Bear and, what's China? This friend — equal part Ashkenazi and Sephardic so his has an added deeply philosophical perspective/dilemma? in context of that DNA — discusses the epigenetics and stored trauma over centuries.
  7. Although Crichton doesn't appear on the partial list of US members of the American Committee For Aid to Katanga Freedom Fighters, we know from his own writing that he was an active member. Among those most notable and germane to this thread, in addition to Crichton: William F. Buckley, Jr.; his brother-in-law Brent Bozell (whose namesake/grandson ran CPAC for a number of years. Regarding Jan 6, Bozell denounced the violence but then said, "Look, they are furious that they believe this election was stolen. I agree with them"); Prof. and Ukraine activist Lev Dobriansky; James Burnham; Sen. Barry Goldwater; Hon. Robert Morris; and Gen. C. A. (Charles) Willoughby. (note: Bozell & Jacobs provided public relations for Rosewood Hotels, the Dallas development company founded by the daughter of arch-conservative Texas oilman H. L. Hunt.) As evidenced in this paid for ad in the Washington Post, Jan 9, 1963, Moishe Tshombe's regime was touted by American supporters of the Katanga Freedom Fighters as being the most "staunchly pro-Western and anti-Communist part of the former Belgian Congo." Tshombe had sought refuge in Madrid, Spain, from which he corresponded with Nazis including Hans Uhlrich Rudel. The ad denounces U. Thant, Sec. Gen. of the UN. For our purposes, it is interesting to note that reporter Anita Ehrman had only that month joined Phil Graham's WaPo, covering Thant and the UN; prior to that, Ehrman had covered Sec. Gen. Dag Hammersjold until his death (which most consider highly suspicious) for Hearst News. There are sufficient reasons to suspect that the murder of Tshombe's adversary Patrice Lumumba, as well as the plane crash which took the life of Hammersjold, are related to a CIA operation, QJ/WIN. Seven months after this ad endorsing the Katangan Freedom Fighters — an org. enthusiastically endorsed by Jack Crichton, Charles Willoughby, and Robert Morris along with Buckley and Dobriansky — appeared in the WaPo, Anita Ehrman would be found dead in her DC apartment; four days later, Phil Graham was dead. Why Pierre Lafitte made notes of these deaths — including references to Otto Skorzeny and to FBI's Milton Kaack — remains the subject of intense research as we speak. As Dick Russell notes in his limited analysis of the PL datebook, "The only other reference to this appears in my 1992 book, citing a notebook seized from Richard Case Nagell by the FBI on September 20, 1963 but not released until 1975. That entry says: “ANITA L. EHRMAN. 7-30-63 WASHINGTON, D.C.” (note: Ehrman's father, an investment banker for Lehman Bros., sat on the board of Republic National Bank of Dallas throughout the 1950s.)
  8. Can EF experts on the topic comment on this infamous photo and the circumstances? https://time.com/5354958/marilyn-monroe-john-f-kennedy-photo/
  9. A friend in the region wrote yesterday . . . Every war is somehow linked to every other war , and everyone linked to each other by about 2 degrees of separation. For now we have to fight Hamas, and think of all the links, similarities & consequences later, though this may sound idiotic. We had a cabinet minister, the fascist Smotrich, quoting the Good, The Bad & The Ugly the other day, saying (like Eli Wallach's character ) "if you have to shoot, shoot". So maybe we're all living in a big Spaghetti Western (or perhaps it's just a dream we have).
  10. Thanks for sharing Cole's thought provoking analysis. In spite of the headline on YouTube, Channel 4 provides a degree of balanced reporting here:
  11. The through-line, @Jonathan Cohen, is oil and ideology. Dallas . . . Lay of the Land ' . . . Dedicated assassination researcher Mae Brussell, who some consider one of the most unsung heroes of the effort, began to pursue Robert Morris, along with Generals Willoughby and Walker as early as 1984 when she recognized their deep ties to the Nazi movement that survived the war. She identified Robert Morris as having trained in US counterintelligence and psychological warfare as well as his early association with the publisher of the National Review, William F. Buckley, Jr.[*}, whose disdain for John Kennedy permeated his editorial magazine. It was Buckley who formed the Young Americans for Freedom [referenced previously in context of CPAC which is thriving during this perhaps final phase of the coup in Dallas] that took hold on college campuses across the country with a pledge to root out the curse of communism. [emphasis added.] After arriving in Dallas, Morris began cultivating associations with right-wing extremists including the generals and their acolytes, the Schmidt brothers, and the man with the financial means, H. L. Hunt. As a skilled counterintelligence propagandist, Morris was now in the perfect position to assist with furthering the legend of Lee Harvey Oswald. It behooves us to offer a verbatim account of Mae Brussell’s assessment of the Walker “incident.” One can clearly recognize the hand of a skilled propagandist like Morris: November 23, 1963, one day after Kennedy's death, Gen. Edwin Walker*** called Munich, Germany, from Shreveport, La. Walker's important story, via transatlantic telephone, was to the Nazi newspaper Deutsche National Zeitung un Soldaten-Zeitung. Walker couldn't wait to tell them in Munich that Lee Harvey Oswald, the lone suspect in the Dallas murders, was the same person who shot through his window in April 1963 . . . There was never one shred of evidence, or a reliable witness, that could make this connection. Dallas police and FBI were taken by surprise . . . In order to cover this over-exuberance of trying to link a Marxist assassin to this altercation, it became necessary to have Ruth Paine deliver that ridiculous letter to Marina Oswald on December 3, 1964. The delayed letter was to have been written the night Lee was out shooting in Walker's home. But General Walker, now home from military service in Munich, knew the importance of such propaganda. He was calling the same people who, under Hitler, published and controlled the newspapers. There were two motives for this call. First, it gave international attention to the fact that Oswald, the Marxist gunman, was shooting at Walker as well as the President. General Walker knew too many people in the Defense Department and in the Dallas-Fort Worth area that could be part of this assassination. He made himself appear as a victim instead of a suspect. The other reason, along with the expertise of Robert Morris's counterintelligence and psychological warfare training, was to create a profile for Lee Harvey Oswald. No possible motive could explain why Oswald would really want to kill President Kennedy. By having Oswald appear to shoot the right-wing General Walker with his John Birch connections, his militant anti-communist stance, then shoot John Kennedy, the same Commie-sympathizer Walker was accusing of treason, it would appear that Oswald was just nuts. He didn't know right from left . . . The Munich newspaper Walker called was linked to the World Movement for a Second Anti-Komintern, part of the Gehlen and US right. Some of Hitler's ex-Nazis and SS-men were on the Staff. The editor, Gerhard Frey, was a close friend with various Nazi members of the Witiko League. The Witiko League and the Sudetendeutch Landsmannscraft were organizations for displaced refugees. By the summer of 1948 they formed large organizations and by 1955 Dr. Walter Becher was elected to the executive board of the Witiko League. Becher was one of the kingpins of Nazi front organizations. . . Becher had been praised frequently by the “American Opinion.” [the extreme right publication of the John Birch Society.] General Willoughby, identified extensively in previous chapters, was a virtual roving board member for ultraright-wing, rabid anti-communist organizations around the country, including Bill Buckley’s Young Americans for Freedom (YAF)—a group that would soon be led in Dallas by former US Army enlistee Larrie Schmidt who had been stationed in Munich, Germany serving under General Edwin A. Walker. While in Munich, Schmidt organized CUSA (Conservative - USA) along with a handful of fellow soldiers intent on returning to the US to take charge of the conservative movement. His first act in Dallas, 1962, was to join the local chapter of the John Birch Society (JBS) whose first president was Robert J. Morris. *Buckley was recruited into the CIA in 1951 where he served under E. Howard Hunt, Mexico City, working on political action. He was a longstanding member of the Knights of Malta. Gen. Charles Willoughby along with Gen. Pedro del Valle (both of whom appear in the Lafitte datebook) were members of the Armed Services of Committee of the Shickshinny Knights of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, a far-right-wing controversial org. claiming to be the "real" Knights of Malta. As Dr. Jeffrey Caulfield writes, 'Its grand marshal was Charles Pichel who corresponded with Ernst Hanfstaengle, who was once an aide to Adolf Hitler . . . ' Caulfield continues, 'Bonner Fellers and Russell Maguire, the editor of American Mercury, sponsored Willoughby for membership [into the Shickshinny Knights]. . . ' Following a brief stint as assoc. editor of American Mercury, William F. Buckley Jr. created National Review — noted earlier for its enthusiasm for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. entering the 2024 race as an independent. continuing with excerpts from Coup in Dallas: American Mercury magazine had promoted American Nazi George Lincoln Rockwell, as well as providing an audience for a young Christian evangelical Rev. Billy Graham, and FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover. . . . Maguire’s magazine was eventually sold off to a shadow company of Willis Carto with General Edwin Walker remaining on as military advisor and partial owner. It was Carto who single handedly brought Holocaust Denial to the US around the same time that McCarthy and his team, including Roy Cohn, launched their red-baiting. It cannot be ignored that Carto’s final propaganda sheet, American Free Press provided a venue for a number of reporters and journalists who in the mid 2000s would infiltrate the Kennedy assassination research efforts under the guise of truth seeking sold as being in alignment with John F. Kennedy’s philosophy and policies had he lived to serve out his term. In fact, history insists that contributors to AFP are closely aligned with Carto’s legacy, not that of John F. Kennedy. . . . General Willoughby closes one particularly lengthy diatribe he shared with his good friend, DCI Allen Dulles with a quote of fascist philosopher, Oswald Spengler, “Untergand de Abendlandes” in reference to Spengler’s “Decline of the West.” Without notes, (Francis Parker] Yockey wrote his first book, Imperium: The Philosophy of History and Politics, in Brittas Bay, Ireland over the winter and early spring of 1948. Clearly, he shared Willoughby’s admiration of Spengler in Imperium, a Spenglerian critique of 19th century materialism and rationalism dedicated to “the hero of the twentieth century.” It is believed that he meant Adolf Hitler. Holocaust Denier Carto of the Liberty Lobby, and later owner of the American Mercury, as well as the American Free Press, took on the task of publishing Yockey’s Imperium when Britain’s infamous fascist, Sir Oswald Mosley failed to do so because of personality clashes with Yockey. The reader is reminded that ad man, propagandist H. Keith Thompson, long-time protégé of Yockey, handled public relations for Lee Oswald’s mother, Marguerite Claverie Oswald in 1964. It has been reported that Willis Carto was Yockey’s last visitor in jail before he bit down on the cyanide pill he had tucked away rather than be interrogated by American authorities. According to John Simkin's early collection of data related to Texas petroleum expert Jack Crichton of the 488th: In 1961, Crichton joined with fellow Dallas conservatives to establish the program "Know Your Enemy", which aimed to combat communist influence that "was undermining the American way of life." In 1962, Crichton opened a command post underneath the patio of the Dallas Health and Science Museum with the goal of maintaining the continuity-of-government were the United States attacked.[3] In November 1963, Crichton was involved in the arrangements of the fatal visit of U.S. President John F. Kennedy to Dallas. Crichton's friend, Deputy Police Chief George L. Lumpkin, a member of the 488th Military Intelligence Detachment, drove the pilot car of Kennedy's motorcade. Lieutenant Colonel George Whitmeyer, the East Texas Army Reserve commander, was also in the car. The pilot car stopped briefly in front of the Texas School Book Depository, where Lumpkin spoke to a policeman controlling traffic at the corner of Houston and Elm streets. At the time of the assassination of President Kennedy and the wounding of Governor Connally, Crichton was attending the annual luncheon held that year at the Adolphus Hotel on Commerce Street in Dallas on the Friday before Thanksgiving Day to honor the TAMU and University of Texas football teams, who meet on the gridiron annually on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Crichton recalls:
  12. Crichton’s Itinerary on the Road to Dealey Plaza On September 13, 1963, just weeks after he and Brandy Brandstetter (presumably the hotelier joined in) and their fellow members of the 488th Intel had completed training at the Pentagon, the Dallas Morning News published a brief notice, “Dallas Man Joins Oil Group for Romanian Visit.” Crichton had been invited to participate in a US State Department delegation in conjunction with the American Petroleum Institute on a fact-finding mission to Princess Caradja’s beloved Romania and native land of his good friend Brandy Brandstetter. (Of note: Jake L. Hamon, Dallas oilman who in his capacity as president of the American Petroleum Institute traveled around the globe, had also been an active participant in the Meadows-Skorzeny venture in Spain where he met Ricardo Sicre, vice-president of the World Commerce Corporation who is named throughout the Skorzeny papers.) In spite of being locked behind the Iron Curtain at the time, the Americans were somehow allowed access to Romania’s petroleum executives. The delegation which departed on September 23rd, included a state department representative, two representatives of Rockefeller’s Standard Oil and Socony Mobil interests and one from Continental Oil. Rockefeller’s Chase Manhattan Bank, whose president [John Jay McCloy] would become a driving force on the Warren Commission, used Republic National of Dallas as a correspondent bank in Texas; Continental Oil’s board included former Sec. of the Army, Frank Pace who was outgoing president of General Dynamics — military contractor embroiled in the TFX scandal that exposed lobbyist Bobby Baker. A subsidiary of Continental, San Jacinto Petroleum has been identified as a CIA conduit. Pace was also a longtime board member of Nation-Wide Securities with former DCI Allen Dulles and Gen. Maxwell Taylor. Ten percent of Nation-Wide’s investments were in the petroleum industry. On October 17th—one day before James Angleton told Pierre Lafitte that there had been a high-level gathering in DC, the Dallas Morning News published a brief announcement, “Former CIA Boss Sets Dallas Talk.” The story read: “Allen W. Dulles, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency will address a meeting of the Dallas Council on World Affairs at noon on Monday, October 28, in the Baker Hotel . . .” Neil Mallon, a member of the board of Republic National Bank had been a friend and confidant of Allen Dulles throughout Dulles’s tenure as director of Central Intelligence. It was through Dulles’s prompting that Mallon founded the Dallas chapter of the Council on World Affairs, an invaluable instrument for the agency since 1951 and the perfect venue on October 28, 1963, for Dulles to promote his book and speak on national security issues including reference to specific activity in hot spots around the world, suggesting he was being briefed in spite of his having left the agency in 1961. The Dallas chapter of the Independent Petroleum Association of America also held their monthly meeting on October 28th. On October 27th, the Dallas Morning News followed up and announced that oil expert Jack Crichton, having recently returned from an oil tour of Romania, would present his report to the Dallas chapter of the [American Society of] Petroleum Engineers on the following Friday, November 1st. On October 29th, Kent Biffle of the Dallas Morning News published a summation of Allen Dulles’s speech the night before under the headline, “Allen Dulles Looks Behind Red Moves." “Khrushchev announced he ‘isn’t going to the moon next week’ to foil the Kennedy plan for a joint moon effort.” Dulles said, ‘Russians are arming Algerian troops in hopes of finally gaining a solid foothold in Africa . . . The Soviets have been trying for ten to fifteen years to find the foothold they want in Africa. They tried in Egypt, the Congo, Guinea and Ghana.’” Biffle continued, “Dulles said that in arming the Algerians against the Moroccans, the Reds are again trying to find a satisfactory foothold in Africa.” We should underscore here that as DCI Allen Dulles had been a frequent visitor to the hotels and homes of numerous close friends in Dallas, Texas, including of course Mallon. Indeed, some people close to the CIA director would quietly remark that Dallas had become an important base of operations for the CIA, second only to headquarters in Langley, Virginia. Dulles’s October 28th talk before Mallon’s Dallas Council on World Affairs further tilled the soil when he included reference to the Algerians’ fight for independence — a subject close to the heart of this book. The speech was a companion piece to other recent impassioned anti-communist pleadings at various venues around the city including those of the woeful, anti-Red princess from Romania. Jack Crichton’s report to Dallas petroleum executives — scheduled within days of Dulles’s speech at the DCWA — recapped his Romanian oil tour which most assuredly described the plight of that country under The Reds, planting propaganda and further stoking the anti-communist fires in Dallas. Crichton’s talk was just four days prior to Lafitte making a note, Meet with Crichton at Tech building.

  15. Within a year of the assassination of Pres. Kennedy in Dallas, conservative William F. Buckley whose family wealth depended on an unregulated oil industry, co-founded The American Conservative Union (ACU), the umbrella for the Conservative Political Action Conferences (CPAC) launched in 1974. Conservative journalist M. Stanton Evans , author of Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America's Enemies, opined "Historians may well record the decade of the 1960s as the era in which conservatism, as a viable political force, finally came into its own." Today - October 9 - from the late Bill Buckley's very own National Review announcing RFK Jr.s' scheduled appearance at CPAC following the announcement in PA that he will run as an "independent": RFK Jr. Launches Independent Presidential Bid, Abandons Democratic Primary . . . “Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has a unique voice in advocating for the defunding of the weaponized bureaucracy and ensuring the constitutional right of medical freedom,” CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp said in a statement. “Kennedy joining such an important event is a reflection of the splintering of the left-wing coalition that has gone full woke Marxist to the point that traditional liberals don’t feel welcome anymore.” . . . Kennedy, who is expected to abandon the race for the Democratic nomination next week in favor of an independent presidential run, will join GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake, Texas attorney general Ken Paxton*, and Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy at the four-day conference, which will begin October 18. https://www.nationalreview.com/news/robert-f-kennedy-jr-to-speak-at-cpac/ Acorns, trees and American Ambassador to Britain Joe Kennedy's appeasement: Captured German Documents Reveal . . . “As an illustration of how wrong impressions regarding Germany were being spread, Ambassador Kennedy related that recently ‘Johnnie’ Reckefeller, a very influential and sensible man, had told him that according to a report by one of the leading professors of the Rockefeller Institute, the limited amount of food available in Germany was being reserved mainly for the army, with the result that the rest of the population had to suffer want. As far as knew, the professor who made the report was a Jew. He — Kennedy — had set Rockefeller right.” Emphasizing in his report that when Kennedy spoke favorably of Germany, people had confidence in his statements “because he was a Catholic,” the German envoy added that he “repeatedly and emphatically” welcomed Kennedy’s intention “to enlighten” President Roosevelt about Germany. He then quoted Kennedy as stating: “The President was not anti-German, but desired friendly relations with Germany. However, there was no one who had come from Europe and had spoken a friendly word to him regarding present-day Germany and her government. “When I remarked that I feared he was right in this, Kennedy added that he knew he was right. Most of them were afraid of the Jews and did not dare to say anything good about Germany; others did not know any better, because they were not informed about Germany,” von Dirksen reported. He added that when he brought up the question of the anti-Nazi attitude of the American press, Kennedy did not have much to say to these statements “and merely mentioned that the press on the East Coast was unfortunately predominant in the formation of public opinion in America and that it was strongly influenced by the Jews.” https://www.jta.org/archive/captured-german-documents-reveal-anti-jewish-views-of-former-ambassador-kennedy And this, from a summary of Rogue Diplomats by Seth Jacobs (Boston College), Cambridge University Press, April 2020. Chapter 5 investigates my counter-example, the rogue diplomat whose indiscipline [emphasis added] harmed U.S. interests. Joseph P. Kennedy, a contributor to Franklin Delano Roosevelt's 1932 and 1936 election campaigns, demanded Embassy London as a reward, and FDR obliged. Upon arriving in Britain, Kennedy concluded that Adolf Hitler's Wermacht was invincible, that British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain's strategy of appeasement was correct, and that America had to remain neutral. Kennedy repeatedly misrepresented the Roosevelt administration's anti-fascist policy. Whereas FDR and Secretary of State Cordell Hull were endeavoring to bring American--and world - opinion around to a posture of resistance to Hitler, Kennedy proclaimed that America had no stake in the conflict and that, moreover, he expected Germany to win any war that might break out. No matter how often FDR ordered Kennedy to hold his tongue, he would not comply. Germany's 1939 invasion of Poland horrified the ambassador, who forecast an end to democracy in Europe and America. At the close of Kennedy's thousand days in London, Anglo-American relations were in tatters and Britain stood alone against the Nazi juggernaut. Few did more than Kennedy to bring about this hideous state of affairs. Or, as the controversial Clive Irving opined: ' . . . The word appeasement was in itself a form of euphemism. It didn’t come close to describing the moral depravity of trying to appease those who were clearly evil. [emphasis added] And euphemisms, then and now, are the beginning of the political process of glossing over what is actually going on. . . . ' . . . In 1938 Joseph Kennedy had a solution to “the Jewish problem.” The New York Times reported that he had worked out with prime minister Chamberlain a plan to ship all German Jews to Africa and other places in the Western Hemisphere under the joint administration of Britain and the United States. That was news to the State Department, which Kennedy had not consulted, and to President Roosevelt for whom Kennedy had become an embarrassing loose cannon. . . . Phelan called on Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and other officials to redirect any money they received from the PAC. Acting on a tip, a Tribune reporter and photographer on Friday observed Fuentes and others — including Kyle Rittenhouse, who was acquitted of homicide after killing two Black Lives Matter protesters in 2020 — enter the one-story office of Pale Horse Strategies near Fort Worth. Republican Party of Texas Chair Matt Rinaldi also was inside the office for about 45 minutes, though Rinaldi told the Tribune that he had no idea that Fuentes was there, condemned him outright and said he wouldn’t meet with him “in a million years.” Defend Texas Liberty is funded by two West Texas oil billionaires — Tim Dunn and Farris Wilks — who are also Attorney General Ken Paxton’s biggest donors. In 2017, Trump bragged that he had an “absolute right” to share the classified intel. Israel was furious. Brett Meiselas Oct 7, 2023 Following the attacks by Hamas against Israel on Saturday, it’s worth revisiting a foreign policy disaster by Donald Trump that has major implications on the events we are witnessing today. In 2017, Donald Trump divulged classified intelligence about Israeli’s Mossad spy agency and ISIS to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during a meeting at The White House. Trump admitted to sharing the confidential intelligence, tweeting that he had an “absolute right” to do so. While he may have had the right to share intelligence while he was president, that doesn’t mean that sharing confidential intelligence from Israel with our adversaries was the right thing to do. Israel was furious. ForeignPolicy.com noted in a 2017 article: The New York Times warned at the time that this intelligence could end up in the hands of Israel’s enemies such as Iran. The Times also noted that Trump’s revelation of classified Israeli intel could expose the source of the information and the manner in which it had been collected, worrying intelligence officials. In addition to meetings with Lavrov and Kislyak, Donald Trump met with Vladimir Putin at least 5 times without other officials present during his presidency. With no record of these conversations and Donald Trump’s penchant for sharing classified intelligence, experts worry about what was revealed during the course of these meetings and how they may have impacted our national security and that of the world in the time since. https://www.meidastouch.com/news/flashback-trump-admitted-to-sharing-classified-intelligence-from-israel-to-russia

For instance: ' . . . A growing number of Blackstone*[see comments] alumni have clerked for federal judges, and, inevitably, their terms as clerks sometimes have included A.D.F. [Alliance Defending Freedom] cases. More than sixty Blackstone alumni are currently clerking on federal courts, including eighteen on appeals courts. The alumnus who is now clerking for the federal district court in Amarillo will next year clerk for the circuit court based in Atlanta, where A.D.F. is defending an Alabama ban on gender-transition treatment for minors. And the two alumni who clerked for Barrett and Alito last session helped them weigh both the 303 Creative case and a Justice Department request to stay the mifepristone ban. (The Court granted the stay—mifepristone remains available for now—but Alito wrote a memorably vituperative dissent.) https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2023/10/09/alliance-defending-freedoms-legal-crusade?utm_source=nl&utm_brand=tny&utm_mailing=TNY_Daily_100223&utm_campaign=aud-dev&utm_medium=email&utm_term=tny_daily_digest&bxid=5d5f059a954fcf34c0402bed&cndid=58203257&hasha=d9ea6f4680580cedf6537ae5ffadee55&hashb=77c656a42d83c5612c60b2c4e9d8949094bfcc6c&hashc=53f3a018facc8bd5c7fe5d54d76ec2cbf56a296c94faab0a11dd39544d40808d&esrc=register-page&mbid=CRMNYR012019&fbclid=IwAR1omPC8NDkwXhlBATU9CbZaq5SIBS4Ld88-Lgtd3QoIq12SSD5zzXJ9w7I *The program is named for Sir William Blackstone (1723-1780), a contemporary of the framers of the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Blackstone’s influence on American law can hardly be overstated. His writings trained nearly every American lawyer until the mid-19th century. Unfortunately, his influence and the Christian worldview have since been virtually eradicated from American law schools. For the last three years, parts of the American right have advocated a theory called Caesarism as an authoritarian solution to the claimed collapse of the US republic in conference rooms, podcasts and the house organs of the extreme right, especially those associated with the Claremont Institute thinktank. . . . . . The idea that the US might be redeemed by a Caesar – an authoritarian, rightwing leader – was first broached explicitly by Michael Anton, a Claremont senior fellow and Trump presidential adviser. Anton has been an influential rightwing intellectual since in 2016 penning The Flight 93 Election, a rightwing essay in which he told conservatives who were squeamish about Trump “charge the cockpit or you die”, referencing one of the hijacked flights of 9/11. He gave Caesarism a passing mention in that essay, but developed it further in his 2020 book, The Stakes, defining it as a “form of one-man rule: halfway … between monarchy and tyranny”.
