James Richards
Thanks, John. I had a friend dig that document up (thanks for the RIF) but it doesn't specify what JMMARC actually is. D'oh! I will keep looking as I think there might be some gold to be found here. Onward! James Edited August 8, 2007 by James Richards

Francesca Akhtar
James, I had a look on the NARA online search engine and nothing comes up under 'JMMARC' but 35 hits come up under 'JMARC'. One looks interesting: AGENCY INFORMATION AGENCY : CIA RECORD NUMBER : 104-10274-10007 RECORDS SERIES : JFK AGENCY FILE NUMBER : 80T01357A DOCUMENT INFORMATION ORIGINATOR : CIA FROM : CHIEF, JMWAVE TO : CHIEF, WHDIVISION TITLE : DISPATCH: JMARC/OPERATIONAL ANTI-CASTRO GROUP DATE : 12/05/1960 PAGES : 4 DOCUMENT TYPE : PAPER - TEXTUAL DOCUMENT SUBJECTS : RAY CLASSIFICATION : SECRET RESTRICTIONS : OPEN IN FULL CURRENT STATUS : OPEN DATE OF LAST REVIEW : 07/28/1998 COMMENTS : JFK64-15 : F4 : 1998.07.28.06:29:54:123129 : FILE ORIGINAL IS PREVIOUSLY REDACTED DOCUMENT Or is this a different JMARC? James Richards
Francesca, Thank you for that, it has been very helpful indeed. JMARC was indeed JMMARC. Basically it was the overall program for operations into Cuba. This is an example below. The Manuel Artime deputy is Manolin Guillot and the Moratori mentioned was an individual the Agency was not able to track down and identify. Thanks to everyone who participated in this thread, your imput has been greatly appreciated. James Edited August 8, 2007 by James Richards

James Hi James, no problem, I only wish that the records could be accessible online for those of us who don't live nearby. I know it must be a huge job but if the MF site can do it......Even if they were to put some records online it would be a help. The document you posted was interesting - especially this mention of 'Moratori'. It says 'functionary of Italian embassy' - I take this to mean he worked for the Italian embassy'? Any idea where the embassy was?
Shanet Clark
So we know now that AM/BIDDY 1 was MANUEL ARTIME q.v. (which see) but do we know who the team in Havana was with the code names AM/YUM and AM/RUNG were..........or [ o6 ] who was apparently killed ?????????????? and now we have to look for AM/ MARK AM/MARK and AM/ ARC............................ At first glance JM/MARC looked like a PROPAGANDA cover for Hunt and his bogus novels, a mockingbird thing, but the last files show that JM/MARC was a major CUBAN COUNTER INTELLIGENCE ACTION PROGRAM. James Richards
Shanet, AMYUM was the cryptonym for the MRR. Others that will pop up in regards to this are KUHOOK (paramilitary operational staff), AMHAWK of which AMDIP-1 (Tony Varona) was a part and AMJAVA-4 (Rafael Quintero). Francesca, I don't have any details regarding the Italian embassy, sorry. James

John Kelly
Robert, you are probably already aware that the Zamka mentioned in that document is David Sanchez Morales. JK

A lot of researchers are not aware that some documents regarding Morales, date back as far as 1949. See Below Biographical Data Relating To David Sanchez Morales http://www.maryferrell.org/mffweb/archive/...amp;relPageId=1 Edited April 27, 2010 by Robert Howard
John Kelly
Robert, intelligence files regarding background checks go back to 1946 when he served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was also investigated in 1947 where his military record is conflicting as to where he exactly was. It seems he was being fast tracked into the new agency. In 1950 he was assigned to the 7821st Composite Group in Germany and given full cryptographic clearance. JK
