The FBI HSCA Subjects Files is a set of over 300,000 pages of FBI records made available to the House Select Committee on Assassinations. These subject files cover a wide range of persons and organizations of interest, including organized crime figures, Cuban exiles and groups, and much more. The files were made available by the Assassination Archives and Research Center (AARC), obtained as a result of a 17-year long Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by Mark Allen. The first 10,000 pages of this collection are now online, to be supplemented in volume over the coming weeks and months. Some of the files are now available on such persons as: • Jose Aleman • Gus Alex • Orlando Bosch Avila (pictured above) • Eugene Hale Brading • Angelo Bruno • Pedro Diaz Lanz • Sam Giancana • John Caesar Grossi • E. A 60 page report on Bruno from a very close confidential informant in early 1963 notes that Bruno met with Traficante twice in Miami in March, 1963 and went to Dominican Republic and Bimini with the idea of opening casinos there. Martino is also listed as a bookie in Atlantic City, along with Benjamin Rubenstein. The Mannarinos are Pittsburgh mob guys. And John Caesar Grossi, who Oswald worked with at JCS and used as a reference on his library card, is a real hot-wire, steals a car and with his girlfriends gas credit card, goes on a wild cross country trip. There's lot of intereesting stuff that doesn't appear to have any relevance to the assassintion. And thanks to Rex, and Mark Allen and Jim Lesar for their FOIA suit that sprung them. Keep it comming. Michael Crane Posted September 7, 2007 Share Posted September 7, 2007 (edited) As silly & un-educated as this is going to sound,I am going to ask anyways...I would like to know if,there is a way to verify,that the sealed documents are the originals,and not some re-productions? It would not surprize me that if,and when,the documents are finally released,that they might contain some false or re-typed information. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated. Tim Gratz Posted September 7, 2007 Author Share Posted September 7, 2007 Michael, I certainly do not want to indict any one in our government for having forged assassination related material, but we must remember that E. Howard Hunt was going to (or had) forged cables from JFK re the assassination of S Vietnamese President Diem--and I think he was instructed to do so by Charles Colson. The other example of course is the KGB forgery of a letter purportedly from LHO to E. Howard Hunt. I think the KGB was trying to dirty its bitter rival the CIA and was disappointed that a lot of assassination researchers assumed the letter was for H. L. Hunt, the Texas oil baron. I understand the KGB forgery department went to great lengths to produce a fool-proof forgery and the HSCA engaged top-notch forgery experts who were close to not sure whether it was real or not. So it would not surprise me if there are forgeries among the documents. Perhaps if someone finds an important document it could be subject to careful scrutiny.
