Eugene B. Dinkin

I am looking for any additional information on Eugene B. Dinkin.

The last 48 hours have been interesting to say the least. Received this information (translated from French).

"Eugene B. Dinkin was a soldier stationed in Metz, Farance where he decoded and analyzed messages from Western Europe for the National Security Agency.

Dinkin intercepted two messages, one in mid October and one on November 2nd announcing the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Not being able to communicate with the exterior and without the authorization of his superiors he took advantage of the permission of a friend and sent a letter to Robert Kennedy. It is unknown if Bobby Kennedy had knowledge of this document. Dinkin announced that the assassination of JFK would occur around November 28, 1963."

Can anybody verify these dates and this information?

Of particular interest: On October 15th (mid October) Oswald is hired to work at the TSBD and begins work on the 16th.

On Nov. 1 (according to the Warren Commission) Oswald attempts to contact the ACLU and to the American Communist Party.

Remembering that Oswald returned from Mexico City to Texas on Sept. 30, 1963 we find that this busy bee quickly finds a job (October 15th, that seems to corrolate with a message that is sent to France and intercepted by Eugene Dinkin of the NSA stationed in France).

One might wonder why this type of information would be sent to France and why it was intercepted by the NSA.

I find it interesting that my research subject, John B. Hurt, upon retiring from the NSA, left for an extended visit to France.

Let me offer these thoughts for consideration:

(1) Lee Harvey Oswald attempted to contact somebody named John Hurt while in custody after the assassination of JFK,

(2) the messages intercepted in France coincide with some interestion actions by Lee Harvey Oswald and

(3) the same John B. Hurt (former NSA employee) that I believe is the John Hurt that Oswald was attempting to contact was in France at the time of the Dinkin NSA intercepts.

Is Dinkin still around?

Jim,

Here's a link to a previous thread on Dinkins:

http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.ph...opic=7078&h

It should be noted that according to available documents, Dinkins never claimed to have learned of the planned assassination through intercepted messages. He said he arrived at the theory that JFK would be assassinated by studying "The Stars and Stripes" and other newspapers.

Twyman's book Bloody Treason includes a letter that Dinkin's mother wrote to RFK about Dinkin being held as "a psychiatric case," in which she says that Dinkin "knows through his semantic study (of the newspapers) how the assassination was planned" (p. 529).

Twyman concludes that we don't know for certain how Dinkin got the information that led to his prediction of the assassination, but that the study of the newspapers may be a cover story that he was forced to learn while being held by the Army as a psychiatric case. Also, if he had revealed secret information obtained from his code breaking, he would be confessing to violation of his secret clearance and could face possible imprisonment. In short, Dinkin said what he had to to get out of the psychiatric ward and the Army (p. 531).

Twyman also says that he heard that "Dinkin was still alive, living in some sort of rest home and only available through a third party" (p. 543).

There is another thread on Dinkin way back in the FORUM backlog.

The OAS connection and NSA aspects of this case are compelling to Jim Root and I, evidently.

Comparison with another well known personage

Dr Jose Albert Rivera, obit August 16, 1989 Maryland

http://www.maryferre...14&relPageId=15

Dr Jose Albert Rivera, 78, a retired Army pathologist and research analyst at NIH died of pancreatic cancer, Wednesday August 16, at the Naval Medical Center in

Bethesda. He lived in Kensington, Maryland at 3913 Dunnel Lane. Dr. Rivera retired in 1973, fro a second career as a medical research analyst at the Institute of

Neurological Diseases and Blindness at the NIH, where he worked after retiring from the Army in 1965.

Born in Lima, Peru, Dr Rivera studied medicine at the University of San Marcos. He moved to the United States to study at John Hopkins University in Baltimore,

earning his undergraduate degree there. He earned his doctoral degree from Georgetown University in 1939 and interned at Providence Hospital.

In 1942 he volunteered for the Army and was commissioned as a first lieutenant in the medical corps. He was stationed at Walter Reed Army Hospital and later

assigned to Halloran General Army Hospital in New York.

In 1944 while acting as chief of pathology of Halloran, he was promoted to captain and went on a series of assignments in Italy and France and at the 198th

General Army Hospital in Berlin.

During the Korean War he served in the 1273rd Medical Field Unit of the 406th Medical General Laboratory and received a battlefield promotion to Major.

After the war he was chief of laboratory service and pathology at the U.S. Army Hospital in Tokyo

In 1958 he was assigned to the Reserve Training Center in Washington, D.C., where he remained until his retirement in 1965.

Dr. Rivera was active in many civic organizations and charities. His favorites were the Epilepsy Foundation of America, the Reserve Officers Association of the

United States and the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States

Dr. Rivera is survived by two daughters, Linda Rivera-King of Abington, Pennsylvania, and Natalie Rivera Frederick of San Ramon, California and three grandchildren

His wife Anne J. Rivera to whom he was married for 52 years, died in 1988. Services were held at Fort Myer, Chapel with burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

Nonetheless, it seems Michael K Bowers is a person of whom more information is needed.

Question of the Day: Was Harvey "modified" at Botkinskaya Hospital?
