John Geraghty Posted April 4, 2007 Share Posted April 4, 2007 (edited) For those of you familiar with facebook, I have created a group for COPA (The Coalition on Political Assassinations), the advocacy group who helped to get the JFK Act passed. They have also been working on a JFK grand jury project and the Martin Luther King records Act. Please join the group, we are trying to get a younger crowd interested in the assassinations and also to re-establish COPA as the researchers organisation. Facebook is a friend sharing network popular with most of the US high school and College students. If we ONLY spend our time on sites for those somewhat in the know about the assassination, this could ironically, be helping the perpetrators of the crime "contain" it. Isolating internet sites is like a strategic hamlet program. Actions like yours might be likened to cutting the barbed wire. I hope that you include a lot of references to this site on Facebook. Usually people who have even a passing interest in the case will get drawn into the discussions on the forum and will thus retain their ethusiasm for the case. Sites such as facebook are very useful, given that it is free and is readily accessible by most students in the country. It is difficult to find people interested in the case on the facebook site, given its size. Membership is up to 12 people. I have been posting videos and starting discussions at the group. John Geraghty Posted May 15, 2007 Author Share Posted May 15, 2007 Bill, I was talking to Mike about the website yesterday, I will begin design on it after my exams (they finish on May 28th- Women in early Irish literature). I will do a mock up and send it on to Mike to see if there is anything he can add in the way of design. We can have a brainstorm as to what you want on the site. I was thinking about a database of COPA articles and related feaures. We can also have a video and audio page, linking from youtube and google videos. On the homepage we can have links to the facebok and youtube groups. If you have any of the early documents relating to the formation of COPA and its membership, that would be great, though I suspect John Judge has most of that.
