Shepard G. Montgomery
"After a deluded gunman assassinated President Kennedy, our nation turned to Gerald Ford and a select handful of others to make sense of that madness. And the conspiracy theorists can say what they will, but the Warren Commission report will always have the final definitive say on this tragic matter. Why? Because Jerry Ford put his name on it and Jerry Ford’s word was always good." Eulogy for Gerald R. Ford Jan 2, 2007 Any comments, folks?

Ron Ecker
Ford did not have a long list of accomplishments. What could Bush do? It was either bring up the Warren Commission or praise Ford for pardoning Nixon. "It was a brave thing to do. I know, because I pardoned Caspar Weinberger, not to mention Orlando Bosch." Well, there was also Ford's "WIN" buttons, but funerals are not for ridiculing the dead.
Mark Stapleton
The most fitting eulogy--far closer to the truth than the one provided by Bush--would have been straight from the lips of LBJ: "He's so dumb he can't chew gum and fart at the same time". By my count, that's at least one blatant lie, two regular lies, one non sequitor and one highly debatable assertion - all in one short paragraph. "After a deluded gunman (LIE) assassinated President Kennedy, our nation turned to Gerald Ford and a select handful of others to make sense of that madness (DECEPTIVE AT BEST). And the conspiracy theorists can say what they will, but the Warren Commission report will always have the final definitive say on this tragic matter (BLATANT LIE). Why? Because Jerry Ford put his name on it (NON SEQUITOR) and Jerry Ford’s word was always good." (LIE) Eulogy for Gerald R. Ford Jan 2 'Daddy' hasn't lost his knack.
