James DiEugenio
There actually was supposed to be a film made of this subject called Good Night Dorothy Kilgallen. I mention it in my review of Shaw's book. For some reason, it was not made.

I liked your idea for a scene where Dorothy's hairdresser is going back in forth preparing things while her body laying on the bed is in the frame, only then for him to turn around and discover it. Like a reverse of Rope where the housekeeper is going back and forth cleaning up the stuff from the surface of the wooden chest where David's body lay hidden. I also don't remember reading anything about the mafia as suspects. I'm no kind of legal expert but as the Manhattan DA is basically stonewalling I guess any appeal for action from the New York Attorney general would be useless? James DiEugenio
Actually I don't know if that would be effective or not. I wonder if Mark Shaw will do that though. IMO, the first suspect should have been Pataky. Was he interviewed?
