  1. John,

Lisa Howard's murder had nothing to do with the assassination of John F. Kennedy. There is no question that that J. Edgar Hoover was and the same creepy crowd that covered up the truth about the Kennedy assassination was involved, but there is no direct link, other than anti-Castro fanatisism -you know, that all-important Cuban Operation.

    That's my opinion.

That article by Peter Konnbluh sounds very reasonable to me. If Kennedy had lived, Cuba would have been America's favorite tourist destination today.

Lynne, just curious, could it be that you meanwhile solved the "Laci case" and now you concentrate on the JFK assassination?? :)

  2. Quite interesting to compare the two statements given by Teodosio Bahadue in 1967 and 1969.

    1967

Q: When did you find out Del Valle was dead?

A: I found out 12:00 noon by the News.

Q: Nobody told you before this?

A: No. I called his wife and she said she didn't know, so then I talked to Sanda

    1969

Q: And how did you learn of his death?

    A: By the news.

Q: That was the following day, the 23rd of February?

A: His wife, she calls the store.

    Q: She called your store?

    A: Yes.

    1967

Q: After he was finished with his phone call, what did he say?

A: He said, "where are you going", and I said "to pick up some cigarettes and my home, on to my home", so I went with him to the Blancito Grocery in front of my place and he bought meat and groceries and he talked to the meat man and he told him about his children. We left the store and we met a man named Costa who owns the Admiral Appliance Store next to the grocery store. We asked him if he knew anybody by the name of Sanchez who was going to open a store there

Q: From there where did you go?

A: He left and I stayed over there maybe two or three minutes talking to the man about financing and then I left to go pick up my son. I went to the Judo School on 29th Street. He goes there on Wednesday and Friday.

Q: What time was this when you left the appliance store?

A: I got to the school five minutes to eight

    1969

Q: In other words, MR. DEL VALLE left your place of business after calling home?

A: He didn't leave my place of business; don't mistake; that day he called his wife; and or he spoke with his son or his wife, and he go across the street, bought some meat; and the cracker; and he left to his house and I left to pick up my son from the judo to my home

    1967

Q: Did anything happen pertaining to Del Valle while he was gone to the fish market. Did he get any phone calls?

A: He got a phone call from a woman, no two phone calls.

Q: You say he got two phone calls?

A: Yes, one from a guy named Sanchez, and

Q: Did he leave a phone number, for him to call back?

    A: Yes.

    Q: What time was that?

    A: That was 6:40 or 6:30.

Q: Was he there when that phone call came in?

A: No, he was in the rest room, and then he tried to call when he came back. I gave him the phone number to call. He tried to call that number but it was busy. He called about four, five or six times. So then he said, "I'll call emergency", and then he was able to talk to her.

Q: What did she say to you when she called up?

A: She said "Is Mr. Del Valle there". I said, "he is not here; would you like to leave a message", and she left the number.

Q: Did she said it was urgent?

    A: No.

Q: After he called the emergency operator, they cut in the line and he talked to this girl?

    A: Yes, for a while.

    Q: How long?

A: I told him I would be outside waiting to go pick up my son.

Q: Did you hear anything he said to her?

    A: No, nothing.

Q: You never heard of this girl before?

A: No, this was the first time.

    1969

Q: And approximately what time was this, sir?

A: Seven, seven-thirty; he called even from my place to his wife and he tell her he will be home; he going to pick up some shopping and go home.

Q: This was in the evening?

A: Yes, and at that time, particular time I pick up my son from the judo place.

  3. John, what is the reason you brought up Lisa Howard again? I’m only asking because it’s the same thread that you posted on May 12, 2004. Do you have some new information or is it just a kind of repetition? I’m not criticising you but if you have some new information would it not be better to start with these first?

In case I’ve missed something or didn’t get it right I’m ready to take the beating :tomatoes

  4. Could someone say what this insignia signifies, please? One of the policemen leading the arrested tramps has it on his sleeve.

(It's the same as emblems of many right wing groups use including the KKK. A variant of a celtioc cross I believe. It is probably just something innocent like traffic perhaps. But it would be good to know as various people have described elements in the DPD as very right wing.)

Finally found it, its part of Jack White's work

John, looks like the Minute Man symbol, if I recall it right there was a thread about this group in connection with General Walker.

  6. Hey George, your a fellow Axeman, got a Fender Strat Myself. I had it in mind to buy a Gibson accoustic, until I saw the price!!!!!! Whats your bag musically, I am a Bluesman myself..

Had not much time yesterday so

Blues and Blues-rock are my roots as well, when I was about ten a had my first lessons but due to the fact that I was born in the mountains (4600 feet) the teacher was the priest of our village

and therefore my career ended quite soon after arguments about what music stile I’d like to play and his ideas that everything that can’t be played in the church was kind of evil. I was glad I had two older sisters so I could play their records even I was officially not allowed and I was blamed for every scratch of course Elvis, Beatles, Clapton, Hooker, Monkeys, Fats Domino where my favourite, later I added the Stones, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and so on to the collection.

After this first not very satisfying experience I started few years ago again and play whenever I have time, my stile is kind of crossover between rock bluesrock hardrock…so my SG must really feel somtimes like an axe :P

  7. New Study: Marijuana Users Less Depressed

Largest-Ever Study of Marijuana, Depression Finds Fewer Depressive Symptoms, Better Mood

First good news from across for a long time, really lights up my day and later maybe something else….as you might don’t know beside all the cheese and watches, we became quite famous in Europe for growing high quality hamp, doesn’t mean I’m proud of it but it shows how flexible our farmers are…maybe I shouldn’t have said that but ups I did it again.

I'll send you the full scan [if possible - my pc was choking on it]. Dillard's wide lens distance shot. 3rd floor, 2nd set of windows, from the right [east].

  9. At the risk of sounding condescending, which I do not mean to be, assertions whether pro or con, that Ruby and Oswald were linked are actually quite extensive.

I will suggest a few "places to go" if one really wants to explore the topic.

Go to maryferrell.org and insert "Ruby Oswald" in the search function.

Go to the City of Dallas - JFK Archive on the Internet (don't have URL handy Google it., and be prepared to spend some time there) there are extensive 'reports' by individuals circa 1964 that Ruby and Oswald knew each other. I believe although I am not sure that some of this material may not be in the Warren Report, (which I believe enhances, rather than casts aspersions upon same)

John Armstrong's research into "The Two Oswald's delves into this area as well.

Ron Lewis Book about Oswald, (although I do not assert or deny his 'credibility.')

One "Ruby/Oswald" book is written by someone with a connection to Ruby, in some form and does not appear to me to have been written with any other purpose than to quash those allegations whether True or False. But that's 'my opinion.'

I am also sure that there are numerous posts on the Forum concerning this "allegation" in the vault, so to speak.

Then you can be up to date on the vast realm of material on 'that subject.'

You are absolutely right Howard, there are many "places" that are dealing with Ruby and Oswald. I

only wanted to answer Tim's request if there are any infos on that, why it was made so late, to get the name Mattox into the right context and finally to give some infos about the mentioned restaurant. B)

    George

  10. It has been reported that in 1990 the then AG of Texas, a man named Mattox, stated that his mother, who was a waitress, had seen Ruby and Oswald together in her employer's restaurant on more than one occasion.

Does anyone have any additional information on this assertion? E.g., where he first made it, why it was made so late in the game, whether it was ever investigated, etc?

    Thanks!

Tim, think this is part of the Rosco White story, and Mattox is Attorney General Jim Mattox (see below), George

    RUBY, OSWALD MEETING

In another curious twist to the case, Mattox said late Monday he is

interested in pursing the White story because he was once told by his

mother, a waitress at Campisi's Egyptian Restaurant in Dallas, that Ruby

frequented the restaurant and that she thought she saw Ruby and Oswald

    eating dinner there together once.

The restaurant owner, the late Joe Campisi, testified before the House

Select Committee on Assassinations in 1978 that he didn't see Oswald in his

    eatery, Mattox said.

Mattox said he believes he has jurisdiction in the case, and he would

interview White and his associates "to see what they've got and let them

    explain it to me."

"The key to the thing, of course, is, if the FBI acknowledges seeing

the diary," Mattox said. "The only thing to do is to get a look at the

diary or acknowledgement (by the FBI) that it existed."

"This is not a solution to the John Kennedy case," Fensterwald said

after Ricky White told his story. "It's information we think is important,

and we think it's true. Even if what is said here today checks out, the

case is not solved. We still don't know who planned it and paid for it and

basically what the shooting was about. The best we can hope for is to get

out of this an idea of who the actual assassins were."

It may be difficult for Mattox or anybody else to do much with the case

without the Roscoe White diary, which disappeared in 1988. The leather

bound journal talked about the assassination and the aftermath, said Ricky

White, adding that he and his mother read it.

Roscoe White died of injuries sustained in an explosive fire in 1971.

His widow, Geneva, is critically ill and, according to family members,

    unable to be interviewed.

  11. Does anyone know if George Perrel; real name Fermin DeGoicoechea is still alive?

Any information on Fermin would be appreciated.

    James

Assuming that DeGiocoechea Fermin is quite an uncommon name, here is another info, not sure

of its value and maybe just coincidence.

    George

The Caldwell County district courts handed down sentences to 11 felony offenders last week, three of whom will be spending time in Texas Department of Corrections facilities.

    The sentences include:

Fermin De Goicoechea plead true to violating probation on an Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle charge and was sentenced to one year in a State Jail Facility.

He seemed to live up to 1975 in or around Dallas. Below divorce record of Dallas- County, Fermin age 34 wife's name Bobbie, age 29 with one child under 18 years.

  13. Tim Gratz

Here is a review of the book from the "St. Petersburg Times":

The book even names a patsy, a Cuban named Gilberto Policarpo Lopez who

was allegedly poised to take the fall in Tampa, unbeknownst to him,

according to the authors' interviews with Lopez's wife.

Waldron said he based his reporting of the Tampa plot on interviews

with former Tampa police Chief J.P. Mullins, a confidential law

enforcement source and a Chicago Secret Service agent, Abraham Bolden.

    Mullins has since died.

Abraham Bolden seems to be a very well informed person concerning efforts and attempts to kill JFK.

He also did report of a planned attempt on the 2nd of November in Chicago.

Thomas Arthur Vallee, a former marine who took this day off and travelled to Chicago with a M-1 and 3000 bullets, is being arrested but released the same day. The information was taken serious and JFK cancelled his trip to Chicago. Later Bolden, who wondered why his information was excluded from the WC, was arrested and had to spend a couple of years in prison, thanks to Lee Rankin.

So I'd like to ask Lamar Waldron:

Q: Did A. Bolden ever reveal to the authors why he had previous knowledge of these two diffrent attempts

and why his warnings were taken seriously but were later excluded from the WC?

  14. In an interview with William Law and Mark Sobel in 2005, Gene Wheaton claimed that Raphael Quintero and Carl Jenkins were both involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

I have created a web page on Quintero. I would be grateful if members post any information they have on him.

Just some info I didn't find on your page.

North took bold steps in late June 1985 to solve the problems he perceived with contra weapons procurement, while laying the foundation for a system that could supply both the northern and southern fronts. North convened a meeting on June 28, 1985, in Miami with Secord; Thomas Clines, a former CIA officer who by then was acting as Secord's overseas arms buyer; Raphael Quintero, another former CIA officer who had been acting as Secord's ``man on the scene'' in Honduras, El Salvador, and Costa Rica; Calero; and contra military commander Enrique Bermudez. The men met through the night, during which North announced that he would suspend his cash payments to Calero: Henceforth, Secord would arrange for all weapons purchases and deliveries. North also stressed to Calero and Bermudez, whose ties were closest to contra forces in the north, that they had to work with him and Secord -- including sharing precious supplies -- to build a viable southern front.

  15. In view of the date.

People of a certain age say that you always remember what you were doing when the news came through from Dallas. I was eight years old, at home with my Mother and Brother watching Bonanza on a TV that was at least four feet across, with about six inches of screen. The first report simply said that the Pres had been shot at, shortly after the programme was interrupted again. (Never did get to find out how they saved the ponderoza that day.) I can remember my Mother crying at the awful news. My Father came home from work early, It seemed like the town came to a halt, I remember him saying to my mum, " Bertha, why would anybody shoot that man" The question echo's down the years. Please add your story.

Even if I don’t remember where I was or what I was doing I think my age of 1 year and 11 months is quite an iron-clad alibi and saves me of being any kind of suspect.

The thing I do remember is the assassination of Robert Kennedy because our neighbour came over to our house and she almost cried when she told my mom that again a Kennedy had been shot at and killed. At first I was confused by the neighbour’s crying and was scared that something had happened to us but when I realized it had nothing to do with our family I just kept on doing what I did and unfortunately I don’t remember that either.

    George

  16. I had previously and will do so again commend John for changing his perspective re Mafia sponsorship of the assassination.

I understand that one reason why John had been resistant to this theory is because of the oft repeated theorem that the Mafia did not ordinarily kill politicians.

In that regard a recent post by Gerry Hemming in the "Ultimate Sacrifice" thread is interesting. It states that when the mayor of Chicago was shot and killed it was really a Mafia "hit" because of Cermak's intention to rid Chicago of the Mafia, and the Mafia tried to disguise its involvement by making it look like an attempted assassination of FDR.

    Tim,

how much of a politician was Anton J. Cermak and how much of a mobster? I think he used politics to give his activities a “legal” touch and of course to gain more power. He and one of his buddy’s Roger Touhy were in competition with Al Capone. After unsuccessfully trying to get rid of F. Nitti he was put on the list. So his death was no surprise but Giuseppe Zangara was not really what you would call a “hitman” and

his performance was more an act of a LN than a professional killer. IMO there was no

need for an active cover and the fact that FDR was present and it happened in Miami made it automatically an attempt to kill the president. Just some thoughts.

    George

  18. George, I was browsing the Marsh site for images of interest and came across the film. I was surprised to find it is what it is, so I extracted all the frames and started looking at them.

I noticed that there were about ten or so frames towards the end , where Ruby is being wrestled to the ground, there appears off to the side a closed fist with top of hand upwards. It extends forward, another hend reaches towards it and the closed fist opens and withdraws and the other hand pulls back out of sight. hmmm interesting. Ok, who/what was that?

By carefully stepping back frame by frame I am pretty certain that that fist belonged to that man in question.

OK, no big deal... wait a mo', in a section just before this just after Oswald is shot and Ruby starts being wrestled down, he is calmy placing what looks like a sheet of paper inside his jacket. During this sequence while most other people are reacting with rapid movements and strong facial expressions, he is almost immobile except for placing this paper in his pocket.

OK stepping back to the beginning of the film. There he is , waiting in the corner.

So the sequence is something like this, with a couple of blurry wild swings of the camera and people stepping in front.

    1. He waits. Oswald is led out. He turns following this movement of Oswald, stepping forward slightly. As Oswald nears where he is shot, and Ruby starts to move, X speeds up slightly and moves across the scene so he is now more off to the right in the frames. He maintains an 'inscrutable' expression as many others are beginning to react, He has a clear view to Ruby, the short guy next to him also has a clear view, he reacts quickly and moves forward rapidly while X hangs back.

    camera focuses elsewhere

    2. The shooting is over, Ruby is being subdued. Everyones focus is on the melee'.

He places the paper in his jacket pocket.

    camera focuses elsewhere

    3. The 'pass the parcel' happens.

    ____________________________

By this time I was beginning to think that this is quite peculiar. Why would someone in these circumstances be so still, and do such seemingly peculiar things?

Because he didn't just place something in his pocket, but got something OUT of his pocket, and passed it to someone who then goes towards Ruby? Calm because it was no surprise. Did it there and then because it was important to do and because in the confusion and 'intentional blindness' conditions he knew it could be done.

    ____________________________

OK, so what if anything COULD it be? Something small and relevant.

So off to the records. Ruby's property.

First there are hand written notes, very deatailed.

Then these notes are typed up. Then a jail property list: and THERE is an anomaly: '1 sml. bottle. wth. brwn. liquid'. It, of all the other items is not ticked with a check mark, and it does not appear in the final release of property list. It appears only for one day in the jail. It's not there, then it is there, and then it is not. Meanwhile singel coins, razor blades, and underpants are meticulously recorded.

    ___________________________

OK, still really nothing but circumstantial.

But when one thinks of Rubys sleepless nights, his talk of diet pills (think ephedrines, or even an extacy type drug (in 1912 when it was first created by german scientists it was tested as a diet drug)) His wild mood swings, his late night chats with Olsen and Kay, and down the road in Tulane uni, there is MKULTRA... a makabre thought of mind control in action, of perhaps a hope of suicide induction. However it obviously didn't work completely and he almost made it to safe territory, but not quite.

So, there it is. Just a suspicion that hangs together in a makabre sort of way.

It should be easy to tear it to shreds as I have been only looking at it for a couple of days and I can think of other ways of looking at the events and they may be entirely unrelated. However stranger things have been given 'airtime'.

    _____________

I'd like to know who that man is. And what happended to the bottle and what was in it.

    _______________

In this sequential collage, the man is tinted blue. The last series is of the hand.

John, the more I look at the clip the more the behaviour of that guy looks suspicious! Do you know if there exists a list of the persons who were in the basement of the DPD that sunday? Otherwise we could try to exclude those who’s ID is known and maybe with an effort of all other members and their (bunked?) knowledge we might be able to produce such a list. I think this could be a kind of a forum “pilot” for a weekly riddle instead of having a friday humour that didn’t survive very long, maybe we are all already become grumpy old men and women. B);) (love that BBC program)

So this week’s riddle could be called <Who is Who in the DPD basement>

I don’t know what others think and maybe I’m too optimistic at the moment but at least I think it’s worth a thought.

    George

  19. I read that to say that Rice was not there but his mobile unit was.

    /quote]

Think your are right John, Rice was not there.

was checking all the other press conference pictures available but so far I could not find another picture of this unidentified man. Apart from his hectic movements after the shooting do you have some more on that or better what attracted your attension concerning this man?

    George
