Are there any members of this forum who live in the vicinity of the National Archives and could perhaps have a look at these documents?

I believe there is much about Walker's discharge from the U.S. Military that has a certain hollow ring to it; Yes he was definitely prosecuted for treasonous activities while Bobby was AG. but he didn't just terminate every relationship with every military person he ever knew the day he was no longer an "active" member of the US military, I still get irritated when the old story [whether true or false] about Ruby and Oswald being arrested and released before the assassination is mentioned; either it happened or it didn't......Walker mentioned this incident 20 years after it happened, and I for one, still am in the dark as to whether it did or didn't happen. The HSCA didn't seem to address the issue conclusively.....unless it is buried in one of the 500,000 documents that have been de-classified over the last couple of years. Until then....what a pathetic situation..... The real problem with resolving the JFK assassination is that it takes a historian, researcher and somebody with a considerable amount of time and money to wade through the wheat and chaff of doc's allegations and theories, and even if you know what happened, unless you are a high profile person like an established writer or official, you will get the media treatment, but there are some very good researchers who will, I would estimate, never give up....David Talbot is one of them Some might find this of interest. He may or may not have been involved in the assassination but he was involved in spreading stories about Oswald after it. His brother did not cover this very well in his book.

The best-known CIA project using the QK digraph was QKENCHANT, of course but there were other "QK" code names. Little is known about any of them. One, possibly of interest to those interested in the JFK assassination was QKACTIVE. According to Lisa Pease, writing in the essential book Assassinations, it was "a project of the Soviet Russia division in the early '60s for running attempted penetrations of the Soviet Union." If he had been utilized would he have defected to the Soviet Union? Another project was QKHILLTOP, which according to a number of sources was a study of "mind control" initiated by the CIA in 1954 after reports of Communist "brainwashing." According to the book American Torture: From the Cold War to Abu Ghraib and Beyond: "One project, codenamed QK-Hilltop, was based at Cornell University under the direction of Dr Harold Wolff. At Cornell, Wolff was an earlier pioneer of human ecology, an interdisciplinary field incorporating psychology, medicine and sociology. When the project began, Dr Wolff asked the CIA to provide him with all its information regarding 'threats, coercion, imprisonment, deprivation, humiliation, torture, "brainwashing", "black psychiatry", hypnosis and combination of these, with or without chemical agents.'" A few years ago, as I recall, I tried to get you interested in interviewing Kenneth V.. My reasons for thinking of you were that you were knowledgeable on the medical evidence and good at contacting people and getting them to talk. If you had done that I don't think you would be a lone nutter, because a shot from the front is not consistent with Oswald from the rear, obviously. Actually, it was a beautiful Venusian man! Fred Crisman knew the Rev. Frank Stranges, another interesting UFO figure, who is I believe still alive. I was mistaken. I contacted Frank Stranges and he never met Crisman, which is a shame as they would seem to have so much in common. He did and still does know Thomas Beckham and gave me a phone number for him if anyone wants to give him a call.

I only came across Alberu in the context of the story of the alleged Oswald-Duran affair. Yes. Sylvia Duran is still alive. I'm referring to the wound in Kennedy's back. "Back" would have been a better term upon reflection. Yes, I plan to do another book, possibly about the results of the lawsuit. Not much. I would have preferred to name every source. I wished I had done more research in Mexico. The books scants the Mexican side of Win's life. Sure. The Post name opens a lot of doors. That makes life easy. On the other hand, I like what I'm doing now much more than what I was doing at the Post. Well, until I did this book I didn't have any conclusions about the Oswald and the CIA and Mexico City. I wrote the book so that I could really think my way through to the conclusions. Working with Michael made me look at the story very sympatheticially (to Win Scott). My journalism background made me look at it very objectively. I came away certain that Win Scott knew the CIA's official story on Oswald was b.s., that something had gone very wrong around Oswald's contacts in Mexico City, that there had been, at a minimum, an intelligence failure around Oswald, and that he, Win, wanted to protect himself from the possible consequences of that failure. Certainly, the question of Oswald's Cuban contacts was—and is-- a supremely sensitive one in the CIA. David Phillips' actions became clearer and more curious to me. James Angleton's role grew larger. Not much. I spoke on the phone with him a few times. I did rely heavily on his epic report about Oswald in Mexico City. Jeff, Hi - just finished the book. Essential reading and I hope the lawsuit works out. One mistake I spotted: INCA was Information Council of the Americas, not Information Center of the Americas.

I was very sorry to hear of Gerry's death. My condolences to his family and friends. I never met the man but I was on his email list for a few years, as I'm sure some of you were, and we exchanged a few personal emails as well. He was not one to mince words.
