Great find, Don!
Good Day.... Near the very end of the following article:http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1356042,00.html
about the recently deceased JOHN PEEL it states:
"Paul Gambaccini pointed out that Peel always wanted the late John Walters, his long-term producer, to give his eulogy. “You are probably now with him, talking about Liverpool FC,” he said. He also revealed that Peel, while DJ-ing in Dallas in 1963, had been invited to jump on John Kennedy’s motor and take photographs, and the pictures had only recently been found."

Hey Terry. I always thought you were a man! I love your hair!
-
Pamela, I am very proud of you, even if I have always been. November 22 is coming soon, but there is still time for each one of us who knows quite a bit about the JFK assassination to interest our local TV and radio stations, and newspapers, to air or publish stories on the subject. Just call them up and you may be surprised to hear their interest. They might invite you in studio! Since most of the radio stations in North America air on Internet, we may able to hear you.
I think it is time for me to update my photo!

The WC did not know about the note, says Rankin? Really. This is some info from Martha:
QUOTE
Marina told the WC that Oswald said "he would telephone them--I don't know
whether he called or not--or that he would visit them." 1 H 57 (This was
after Oswald found out Hosty had been to the Paine home)
Testimony: 2/3/64.
In her testimony of 3/19/64 Ruth stated "He (Oswald) told me that he had
stopped at the downtwon office of the FBI and tried to see the agents and
left a note." Ruth believed Oswald to be irritated by Hosty's visit:
"Irritated, that he left the note(at FBI office) saying what he thought.
This is reconstructing my impression of the fellows bothering him and his
family, and this is my impression then." "I will just go on to say that I
learned only a few weeks ago that he (Oswald) never did go to the FBI
office. Of course knowing, thinking that he had gone in, I thought that was
sensible on his part. But appears to be another lie." (3 H 18-19)

Photo taken by Tom Dillard showing two men, one with a radio. Where is this?

Denis,
Those guys are reporters. Even though the caption says 1963, I think they were waiting outside the courtroom for word on the Ruby trial.
James
Thanks, James!

Denis,
The photo next to Photo 1-15 shows an object in someone's hands, possibly Deputy Sherrif Eddie "Buddy" Walthers. The only place it appears is in Gary Shaw's Cover Up. If any one is in contact with Gary Shaw would you please ask him where he got from the picture from?
http://iquebec.ifrance.com/Assassinat/walthers2.jpg
I know from reading your website that you have gone back and forth trying to determine whether or not the blond headed man to the right of this photo was Dallas FBI Agent Bob Barrett.
Were you ever able to get a definitive answer?
I've been wondering if the blond headed man was Dallas Field Office Secret Service Agent William H. Patterson.
In his statement, Patterson wrote that he remained in the vicinity of Air Force 1 until it left, at which time he returned to the Dallas Field Office. (25H788)
However, we know that he did not remain there, because in his statement, Allen Sweatt places Patterson in the Sheriff's office sometime after 1:30 when two girls (who I believe were Jean Hill and Mary Moorman) were brought in to Sweatt. Patterson signed for the pictures and gave them his card.
http://jfkassassination.net/russ/testimony/sweatt.htm
Steve Thomas
Steve, no definite answer, unfortunately. I am pretty sure that James Leavelle knows. I will look into Patterson. Thanks.
Some people told me they could not view the photo showing the man with an object in hand. So here it is:
-
According to Gary Mack, this photo was probably a Fort Worth Press photo.
From Gary Mack:
QUOTE
According to the caption, the photo was transmitted by UPI, which means it
is NOT and AP picture. So I'll return to my first note, which is that it
was probably a Fort Worth Press photo. The DAP designation in the caption
may identify it as coming from the Dallas UPI office and the P would be
the Fort Worth Press designation. I first saw the photo in the 11/22 or
11/23 Fort Worth Press and, as best I can remember, it said something like
"Staff photo."

See the only known colour photo of Air Force 1 in Love Field when the casket was being brought into AF1. I have not figured out who took it. One thing's for sure, it was taken from Air Force 2.
Put DALLAS 1963 HEARSE in the search box.

Who Killed Martin Luther King Jr.?
On April 4, 1968, a sniper gunned down Martin Luther King Jr. as he stood on a motel balcony in Memphis, Tennessee. Charges of cover-ups and government complicity were heard almost immediately--suspicions that haven't waned with time. Several versions have passed for the "truth" of King's assassination--from the "official" story in '68 with small-time criminal James Earl Ray as lone assassin; Ray's later assertion that he was framed by "Raul", the true killer; to the '78 House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) report that claimed Ray acted on behalf of a conspiracy. And there's a theory that federal government agencies were out to get King--and they had greater motivation to do so than James Earl Ray. We revisit the murder--one of the least explicable of the assassinations that rocked the '60s.

Investigating History
The JFK Assassination.
How does forensic science help resolve questions about the JFK assassination? With the help of a group of scientists and researchers with access to the evidence in the case, Investigating History looks at new information that examines which theories are believable, and which are not. Specifically, the experts looked at the acoustic evidence from the radio of one of the motorcycle policemen in the
motorcade and the number of shots that were fired; at the reliability of autopsy X-rays of JFK's skull; at the investigation that concluded that Oswald was the lone assassin; at the new evidentiary support for the "magic bullet" theory; and more.

If my memory is good, it is not always, Mark Lane had lunch with RFK and others not a long time before RFK got assassinated. The JFK assassination subject came up without Lane mentionning it first, I think RFK did. If, again, I recall correctly, RFK wanted to wait to become president before he investigates the assassination of his brother. Can someone confirm that?
Denis
Heymann also interviewed LaVern Duffy for his book. This included the following:RFK expressed dismay over the Commission's report, saying it was "impossible that Oswald and Ruby hadn't known one another." He also said "Those Cuban c**** are all working for the mob. They blame us for the Bay of Pigs, and they're trying to make this look like a Castro Communist hit. I don't buy it. And I don't trust those guys at the CIA. They're worse than the Mafia." Bobby simply didn't want to know who did it. But at the same time, he couldn't put it behind him. He wanted to bring his brother's murderers to justice, but he didn't have the strength to do it. He must have felt tremendous guilt over his failure to act.

The 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible limousine
JFK rode in when assassinated in 1963 was, for a time
a true crime scene. Surprisingly, the car was used by
presidents for years after Kennedy's death.

Medical Casebook
JFK
When John F. Kennedy entered the White House in 1961, he brought with him eight personal physicians to handle his medical requirements and maintain his image as a healthy President. He'd been a sickly child and had to endure illness all through his life.

One my favourite is Robert Groden's The Killing Of A President and Gary Shaw's Cover-Up because of their photos. Another one is David Lifton's Best Evidence, so easy to read even if it is about medical stuff.
A book written by Lee Harvey Oswald would have extremely interesting if he had stayed alive...

I thought it might be a good idea for us to list the best ten books on the JFK Assassination. I would be interested in other people’s views on this.1. Larry Hancock, Someone Would Have Talked (2003)
The best account of the latest information available on the case. Another advantage is that Larry is willing to answer queries via this forum.
2. Gaeton Fonzi, The Last Investigation (1993)
An impressive piece of detective work. Fonzi was the an investigator for the House Select Committee on Assassinations. Well worth reading next to The Plot to Kill the President by the HSCA’s G. Robert Blakey and Richard Billings.
3. Harold Weisberg, Whitewash: The Report on the Warren Report (1966)
The most thorough analysis of the Warren Report available. The best starting point if you still believe Oswald was the lone gunman.
4. Anthony Summers, The Kennedy Conspiracy (2002)
Good overview of the case. The 2002 edition includes updates on John Martino, David Phillips, Carlos Marcello, John Roselli, and released CIA and FBI files.
5. Dick Russell, The Man Who Knew Too Much (2003)
I am not sure I am convinced by the Nagell story but it is an excellent account of a very personal investigation. Includes some good interviews with some interesting characters involved in the case.
6. Richard D. Mahoney, Sons & Brothers (1999)
Not really about the assassination but provides a detailed account of RFK’s response to what happened. Mahoney gives the impression he knows more than he is letting on (probably due to the relationship of his father with JFK).
7. Joachim Joesten, The Dark Side of Lyndon Baines Johnson (1968)
Joesten was denounced as a KGB agent when this book came out (he was a former member of the German Communist Party). I do not like his tabloid style of writing but he asks all the right questions and was the first to point the finger at LBJ.
8. Jim Garrison, On the Trail of the Assassins (1988)
A surprisingly well-written book. Like Dick Russell’s book, very much a personal investigation. Garrison come across as an honest but a naive man.
9. Seth Kantor, Who Was Jack Ruby? (1978)
A great book from a man who was there from the beginning. You get the impression Kantor was protecting some of his contacts and was not telling the full story. Shame he died before he could write his follow-up book.
10. Fabian Escalante, CIA Covert Operations 1959-62 (2004)
A well-informed account written by the former head of Cuban State Security. Cuba's foremost authority on U.S. covert operations against Cuba.
Best Reference Book
Michael Benson, Who’s Who in the JFK Assassination (1993)
A good starting point for anyone who wants to know about the 1,400 suspects, victims, witnesses and investigators in the case. Needs updating and is poor on Interpen and the Anti-Castro Cubans.

I think the man seen with RHO in photo posted by Jack White is a better match than Jim Braden.
I have corresponded with Braden's attorney who represented him during the HSCA investigation. I guess it is time for me to email him again! I would be interested to find out more from him about Braden's libel suit against Bernard Fensterwald and Peter Noyes.

I live in Toronto. I had got interested in the JFK assassination when I was 13 (in 1977) after seeing a video clip showing Ruby shooting down Oswald. I did not read too much about the subject until I put my hand on Mark Lane's Rush To Judgment in 1985. Through the years I have been ordering documents from NARA, bought lots of videos, audio cassettes, contacted JFK assassination-related characters looking for new information. I am always glad to help other researchers who are looking for information. I am sure that if you look at my website, you will see that I am bringing my contribution to the JFK research community.
