Both of you make good points. We are left to believe that the authorities immediately knew what type of rifle they had but somehow managed to give the press the wrong information. In addition, no apparent attempt was made by authorities to correct that error immediately, the correction was made some time later on the day after the assassination. The timing of this revision is curious. It came AFTER the FBI had in its possession a rifle with a "palmprint" on it that had been dusted by the DPD. The FBI found no such print on it. This rifle was then mysteriously sent back to the DPD, an interesting move given that the FBI woiuld eventually take control of all the evidence. One has to wonder if this rifle was the Mauser and because it did not contain Oswald's prints it disappeared into history.

One of the selling points of Bugliosi's book was that he was a straightforward and honest guy who put that maniac Charles Manson behind bars. His reputation was unquestioned, his judgement seemed solid. Now we find out that this rock of an American, who presented his latest tome as the work of his own pen, farmed out chapters of the book to other writers and failed to mention their contributions to his work, presenting their writings as his own. I know if I had bought a book that he had presented as his own and it was written by someone else, I'd be asking for my money back. If it ends up being factual, Bugliosi deceived his publisher, Norton as well as the public.

John: I have a video segment, in which a private investigator named Milo Spiriglio claimed to have received from a reliable source a CIA transcript of telephone wiretaps on Marilyn Monroe's phone that indicates that Monroe was talking about some of the state secrets that she had been told by the Kennedys. Among those were the CIA's attempts on the life of Fidel Castro using mob connections and the killing of Dominican Leader Rafael Trujillo. It alleges that Robert Kennedy told her about the President's trip to a "secret airbase" to inspect "things from outer space". It references to "crashed space crafts" "alien bodies" and "New Mexico". It also said that, "subject (Monroe) threatened to hold a press confernce and tell all". The document is dated August 3, 1962, the day before Monroe was found dead from an apparent suicide. That's about as much as I know about the subject. There is some info on the internet about JFK and MJ-12 or Majestic-12 Project if anyone is interested in studying it.

Gentlemen: I have a video interview where Connally says that the idea to come to Texas was Kennedy's and that in June 1963, Kennedy had not been to Texas since the 1960 election. That's not true. Kennedy gave a speech on the space program at Rice University in Houston on September 12, 1962. Either Connally erred in this fact or was lying, although I find it hard to believe that he would not have remembered that Kennedy had been in Texas at a time that he was running for Governor. As far as the crooked friends of Lyndon Johnson go, you can take what they say at face value or you can draw your own conclusions. If I remember correctly, it was Carter who took control of Connally's coat and had it cleaned before the WC ever saw it. That's destruction of evidence and obstruction of justice. They were going to impeach Nixon for the same crimes.
