  1. I am a teacher of history and social science at the Veurs College 3 in Leidschendam, the Netherlands. Also I have been involved in various international educational projects regarding the use of ict.
  2. Well not being a total ict-illeterate I for some reason cannot reregister? I keep getting kicked out of the forum, on trying to reregister!? Help!
  3. I fear that changing your email is only short term solution. Ignoring them and throwing them out is the best way in dealing with these kind of emails. The spamfilter I use does not stop all of them. So I spent most of my 'email time' not reading or writing email but throwing spam emails away! That is a completely waste of my time but so far the only way that slighty works. Downside, except for the loss of time, is the fact that sometimes I throw away emails that are not spam...
  4. "" Anquetil has been dead for quite some time(died nov 18 1987) if i am not mistaken. But i agree with the nomination of Lance Armstrong. He is the greatest Tour de France cyclist. Although not the greatest cyclist ever, that is still Eddy Mercx!
  5. I have been involved in various international educational projects over the last 5 years. In these projects ICT has always played a very important part. Some of the projects were focussed on history but other subjects were also involved. Any questions regarding international co-operation between schools with the use of ICT I am more then willing to answer to the best of my abillity.
  6. Great feature, but where are all the sites stored?
  7. The technical people at my school are also using this. They offered me a demonstration shortly. I am curious.
  8. Quite possible! That is our second national sport; complaining!
  9. Did that happen in this thread? If so I am sorry. It was not intentionally. So; how can we help you?
  10. The Netherlands_ Czech Republic 2-3 I am still in shock about the game from last night. Well it was better then the one the Dutch played against the Germans. Then again, they could not play much worse then that...
  11. What are your opinions on making ICT in the classroom really work? At lot of times it is only a replacement for the teacher instead of being a tool on its own. So how can that be changed and what are the benefits?
  12. Perhaps a biased definition? I do like the idea of case studies. But don't you fear that in this approach the logic, narrative or chronologie becomes lost to the students? Since a year or two i teach more or less like this and find that students tend to lose track of the events. They have difficulty in putting events eg Vietnam in the right historical time.
  13. Too bad it is only for the british market
  14. I know, but at them moment the students spent a lot of time playing all kind of games. As far as I know this is the only way to stop that. Save for looking over their shoulder all the time. If anybody has any other suggestion please let me know!
  15. Great and i just asked our technical people in school to disable flash on our computers... Stupid me! Thanks for the quick reply . Eagerly awaiting the results.
  16. At my school one of our technicians developed his own cms. It is easy to use and has all the functions one needs. Have a look at www.veurs.nlto see what has been created with this cms.
  17. Is it possible to create these kind of activities in other languages? What software do i need?
  18. I get the best results to run both Spybot S/ D and Ad-ware. Over the weekend i test winpatrol. Hope thsi will get the same good results
  19. Turned out to be an 18 year old german. Perhaps ict education is better in Germany?
  20. I just happenend to be in great Britain when le Pen was there and I felt that the newspapers were agitating against him. But the people did not seem to care much. Did i make a just observation or am I mistaken?
