  1. Larry may have to correct me but I believe the plane in question was actually a C-53 and at the time of the assassination, it was owned by Houston Air Center, which was a CIA front company.

As to the Cuban pilot, maybe we need to look at a certain high profile member of the DRE. It might be of interest that several DRE members were in Dallas at the time and had connected with Fermin DeGoicoechea and Manuel Orcaberrio. Could these guys have been the ones staying at the house on Harlendale? One would have to assume then that George Joannides knew all of this.

Let's not forget the DRE were very keen in tying Oswald to Castro. They produced literature on the day of the assassination stating that very clearly.

  2. For example, on 1st June, 1962, the Dallas News reported that President John F. Kennedy had "taken a personal interest in the mysterious death of Henry Marshall." As a result, the story said, Robert Kennedy "has ordered the FBI to step up its investigation of the case." (John Simkin)

    Here is that news report.

  3. There is evidence that John and Robert Kennedy were attempting to use several emerging scandals (Bille Sol Estes, Bobby Baker, Fred Korth) to remove LBJ from power. (John Simkin)

On the day of the assassination, the morning papers carried a story where Richard Nixon was predicting that JFK would drop LBJ if it looked like a close race at the next election. Nixon referred to LBJ as a "political liability".

  4. On 14th April, 1948, Josefa had an illegitimate child (Rodney Moss). He died, aged 40, in 1989.

    John,

At the time of Josefa's death, wasn't she married to James Moss? Moss I believe had a curious ability to know where to drill for oil.

    James

She was but they did not marry until 1955. What can you tell me about Moss?

    http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/JFKjohnsonJ.htm

Not a lot unfortunately. I remember reading about this almost psychic ability Moss allegedly possessed to know where oil was untapped. I believe it was in a column (Tolbert's Texas) written by Frank Tolbert.

  5. Anyone have any contact info for Mr. Bolden?

I tried to contact Bolden several years ago. His son was very protective and wouldn't let me anywhere near his father. Probably a good call. :tomatoes

The Boldens are a very tight family unit. The son refused to talk about his father's time with the Secret Service, in fact, I was asked not to contact them again.

  7. For those who knew Penn Jones and or who were avid readers of 'The Continuing Inquiry', was there ever any mention of crossing paths with Malcolm Wallace pre assassination? If so, did Penn Jones pass any comments about him?

I ask as in 1946 when Homer Rainey was running for Governor, Penn Jones as editor of the 'Midlothian Mirror', did some radio spots supporting his candidacy. The man who handled and promoted these spots was Rainey's Dallas County campaign manager, Malcolm Wallace.

  8. Chuck,

I can't offer anything on John Zeppo himself but I can tell you that his wife was the sister of John LaCoke. LaCoke ran a grocery store on Leonard Street in Dallas.

LaCoke was very close friends with fellow grocery heavyweight Carlo Campisi whose sons were the infamous Joe and Sam Campisi.

When Carlo Campisi's wife died in 1958, one of the pallbearers was Lawrence Miller; the same Miller who was arrested just before the assassination with Donnell Whitter while in possession of the U.S. Army weapons stolen from the National Guard armory in Terrell.

    FWIW.

    James

    Thank you, James.

By any chance do you know if Mr. Zeppo was a Texas native?

If not, did he have family in PA?

Sorry, Chuck. I don't have the answers to your questions.

  10. Good stuff, John.

Is there any mention in the book about a 'Mr. X'? After Marshall's murder, Peoples was very interested in the whereabouts of an unidentified man they tagged, 'Mr. X'. He was described as dark haired with an acne-scarred face.

    Just curious.

  11. James,

    1. What was the occasion were they all getting honorary degrees from the same school?

    2. Who is the woman next to Brewster?

    3. “Don't you think the joker laughs at you?”

    Len

PS - ku ku ku chu ku ku ku chu.

    Hi Len,

1: Yes, they were all receiving honorary degrees. I believe the year was 1964.

2: The woman next to Brewster is Lynne Fontanne.

    3: "I am the eggman."

    James

PS: Everybody's got something to hide except me and my monkey.

  12. Scott,

Another interesting associate of Merola's was Robert Spining. Spining was a pilot who in 1959 was arrested along with Merola and both men were charged with trying to smuggle ex Cuban General Roberto Fernandez Miranda into the U.S.

Fernandez Miranda was the brother-in-law of Batista.

  13. Speaking of Shriver, I thought some forum members might be interested in this image below. Some fascinating folk include Martin Luther King front row left, next to him is Warren Commission member John Sherman Cooper, next to him is William Averell Harriman and next to him is Kingman Brewster.

Robert Sargent Shriver is third from the right in the back row.

BTW, the Walrus was Paul. :D

  14. James, I know its a long shot, but do you happen to have a photo of Mr Harvey or Mr Ortiz? Thanks Steve.

    Steve,

Sorry this reply took so long. Unfortunately I don't have images of these guys but like you say, one could guarantee they are false names. Having said that, there is talk amongst the Cubans that Raymond Lee Harvey might have been Eduardo Ochoa. Ochoa goes back to Brigade 2506 and was mixed up with the more militant aspects of the anti-Castro fight of the early 1960's. Time did not mellow him either as he eventually became a member of Omega 7. In 1980, he was mixed up with the bombing of the Cuban Consulate in Montreal. As to Ray Lee Harvey being Ochoa, that is far from confirmed and should be treated as pure speculation.

Also, regarding the threat to Carter, Willem Oltmans weighed in when he gave a press conference and offered some interesting tidbits including that the operation was run by U.S. Intelligence. Credibility is obviously Oltmans problem but I though it might be of interest.

BTW, in historical context, it should be remembered that Carter named Kennedy-type Democratic Liberal Ted Sorensen as Director of Central Intelligence. I'm sure that ruffled a few feathers.

    FWIW.

    Cheers,

    James

    Margaret,

You live in God's country. Far North Queensland as far as I am concerned is the very best this planet has to offer. I live on the Gold Coast but my wife and I also spend a few months a year in Port Douglas.

  16. I have a very serious request concerning Lee Harvey Oswald's notebook. In it there is a listing for Lomo Industries, Inc. The Dallas Phone Directory as well as the Business Directory for the same year to my knowledge DO NOT have such a listing, however there is a Loma Industries, Inc with offices in Dallas and Ft. Worth. Can anyone enlighten me about this listing? Is it possible that Oswald's dyslexia, (he was dyslexic, right?) may have something to do with this? Any response is greatly appreciated.

    Robert,

I'm going by memory here which is a dangerous ploy but I seem to remember that Loma Industries had a foreign representative named Alexander Kleinlerer who was friends with George De Mohrenschildt. I also seem to recall that this clique which included George Bouhe got together to provide clothes and the like for the Oswald family.

Loma Industries burned down in 1965 I think it was.

  17. Hi Scott,

Do you know anything about a substantial amount of money that was attempted to be paid to Rothman in 1952? It was in the form of a check but was stopped by Dana Smith; an attorney and trustee for Sen. Nixon's expense fund at the time.
