  1. Given the known details regarding Diana's death, one would have to say that it was a tragic accident. Trying to stage a deliberate car crash is fraught with failure at all levels.

Having said that, when unanswered questions like the mysterious Fiat that the Mercedes sideswiped before entering the tunnel exist (Fiat driver and vehicle never seen again), it does leave fertile ground for conspiracy speculation.

I guess it boils down to the reality that the public are suspicious of government findings. In some cases, rightly so.

    FWIW.

  2. Other than the Beatles, the BOSS is my absolute favorite rock star. I have never missed a Bruce and the e-street band since discovering them in 75. If you've never seem them live you just cannot imagine. (Dawn Meredith)

Right on, Dawn. I saw Springsteen here a couple of years ago on 'The Rising' tour. Amazing show. I also saw him 1986 (around that time) in Sydney on the 'Born In The USA' tour. I wish he would visit Australia more.

'The River', 'Back In Your Arms' and 'City Of Ruins' would have to rank as some of the best songs ever recorded. Just before Lennon passed, I believe he made the comment that 'Hungry Heart' was one of the best songs he ever heard. I will try to find that reference.

  3. Hi Lee,

I know Cain used the Scalzetti name but I don't know about the others.

    I. Irving Davidson is Isaac Irving Davidson, D.C. Lobbyist who has been mentioned in the Carl Jenkins thread as someone of interest.

I believe that would be a most interesting document.

  4. Comandante Antonio Enrique Lusson permitted the only American in his "Columna" -- to use one of Dickey's cameras to take this photo near Palma Soriano, during late 1958. the then 17 year old Leutenant ["Teniente"] Donald Soldini, didn't want either his photo taken, nor his name mentioned in her later article in "Readers Digest".

Don Soldini was interviewed a few years back by Miami New Times, and the article was styled as "Cuba's Yanqui Fidelistas" -- and can be found on the Web. Also interviewed were the three young kids from GITMO who went up into the Sierra Maestra to join Fidel for a short period. Only the oldest, Ryan stayed on when the others returned to the base. One of the three turned strongly anti-Fidel many years ago.

The only "Gringo" there with Dickey who consented to "go public" was: U.S. Marine Corps deserter Gerald "Gerry" Holzthaus, who upon return to CONUS -- was convicted and sent to the Portsmouth, New Hampshire Naval Prison for 3 years. I last visited with him at his Daytona Beach home during the 1970s. (Gerry Hemming)

    Thanks, Gerry. That's terrific stuff.

If I remember correctly, wasn't Soldini also in contact with Marita Lorenz in Cuba?

Anyway, the attachment below shows Antonio Lusson having some target practise.

  5. Hi Lee,

Humberto Fontova is certainly a curious character. I remember him being interviewed by Bill O'Reilly some time back. I also remember an appearance he made on Bill Maher's show 'Politically Incorrect', before Maher was sacked for being politically incorrect, and that was interesting to say the least.

He has been described as an anti-Castro wild man with some justification.

  6. Raul later married "Vilma Espin". She died of breast cancer over 20+ years ago !! Her war name "Debora" was never used after Jan. 1959. (Gerry Hemming)

The image below shows Vilma Espin in the middle, Dickey Chapelle on the left and I believe the man is Antonio Lusson.

  7. I object to Lynne's attempt to what was intended to be a "tribute" of sorts to the memory of John Lennon into an anti-Nixon diatribe.

Take it elsewhere, Lynne, Matt, or whoever you may be.

(Did she even post her favorite Lennon song?)

Er Tim, that would be "HELP" surely.

    Steve,

"I'm A Loser" could also work.

  8. Thats him. I once denighed the name "Sergio" when someone peged him as being in Dallas. He was alive then and that caused a falling out between me and his famay. Its seems someone was writing a book and they said I fingered him as being with me in Dallas. About that time all hell broke loose and I was caused a lot of trouble and called alot of names by many on these forums. Again. designed to stop research. I expect itt to happen again soon. Perhaps you have the other postings that caused so much flak. Thanks James. Its refreashing. I did protect Him until the end as he did with me. (Tosh Plumlee)

    Thanks, Tosh.

I didn't keep any of those insults and slurs. I was subjected to plenty via email which really made me laugh. I have never responded to threats and those idiots were blowing smoke anyway.

I don't know or have ever spoken to Jim Marrs but I can guess the meaning behind the tattooes. Did Andreas go through Benning with Felix Rodriguez and Posada Carriles or was that a different time frame?

    Cheers,

    James

  9. There is another picture out there of Sergio of Dallas fame. It was taken at the Dark Horse Bar, West Palm Beach some years later. He is sitting at the bar and I think a "Parrot or doll monkey he is holding. I did see that picture posted at one time. Perhaps you have seen it. (Tosh Plumlee)

    This the guy, Tosh?

Does the name Andreas ring a bell?

    James

  10. Hi Tosh,

Quite some time back on another forum we were discussing the guy in the image below, the one wearing the silver cross around his neck. Due to some unfriendly people who kept redirecting the thread, I found myself completely confused.

Can you identify this guy for me and was the man on the far right, (cropped out of the image) William Weiland?

    Cheers,

    James

  11. There's this wonderful sequence of scenes in the film Imagine where some kid is just hanging around outside John and Yoko's and instead of sending him off, John chats with the boy; welcomes him. (Dawn Meredith)

    Dawn,

I agree, it is a wonderful sequence.

In the same film it shows lots of people showing up at the house during the recording of the 'Imagine' album. If you look closely you will note that one of them is Regis DeBray. I'm sure during quiet moments he and John discussed Che Guevara and the political landscape of the time.

Apart from his talent as a singer/songwriter, Lennon was definitely one of most interesting musicians ever to have strummed a guitar. I look at the crop of so-called talent that fills the Top 40 chart today and all I see (with the odd exception) are vapid musak makers more interested in how they look rather than how they sound. Long live the 60's and 70's.

    James

  12. Thanks guys for your responses.

Fermin would be 64 today. He does appear to have dropped off the map.

The link George posted doesn't give an age so it may well be his son. The 40 year old Fermin from Austin Roy cited sounds like the son as well.

    Cheers,

    James

  13. Interesting, Lee. I too had thought of the movie. Coincidentally or not, it was released in 1963.

I'm sure it's a tie-in to the movie. Lee Remick is begging for her "Running Man" to come back. In the movie she plays the wife of Laurence Harvey, who may have inadvertently just played a different Lee in the Manchurian Candidate. He fakes his death in an insurance scam and goes on the run.

I believe you may well be right, Pat. Strange promotion for the movie though. Not exactly high profile. Bizarre.

  14. Does anyone know if George Perrel; real name Fermin DeGoicoechea is still alive?

Fermin is quite the interesting character. Bay of Pigs veteran and a prominent part of the DRE militant component. Fermin was tasked with securing weapons for the so-called Second Invasion of Cuba. He did this through J.T. Masen whose source in turn was George Nonte at Fort Hood.

Fermin also attended the University of Dallas at the time Sarita Odio was there.

Fermin was not a happy camper when it came to discussing the Kennedy administration and his perception of their failures during the Bay of Pigs invasion. In fact he was very bitter.

Any information on Fermin would be appreciated.

    Fermin below.

  15. James, does a coded message with an uncoded name from a future 'assassin' make sense? (John Dolva)

    John,

In a word, no. The whole thing doesn't make a lick of sense really but I was curious as to how the Warren Commission explained it and or if there were any other bits of information regarding this out there somewhere flapping in the breeze so to speak.

I was told in private email that the general belief is the message had to do with the film Bill and Lee were discussing. Maybe.

  17. I would be curious to get forum members opinions of the following.

The attachment below ran in the classified section of a Dallas newspaper on October 15, 1963. Could this be a contact code Oswald used when reaching out to someone like say, James Hosty? Or is this just something completely innocent?

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    James

  18. Here in Australia starting in the mid 1970's, the Nugan Hand bank began operating which included the services of Tom Clines. Information on the failed bank and its connections to CIA types (including Clines) is readily available but its relationship to organized crime is not. A lot of Sydney based gangsters were able to transfer big money out which allowed them to stock up on heroin.

In 1980 Nugan Hand went under and one of the bank's founders Frank Nugan, a lightweight lawyer committed suicide (yeah right). Tom Clines, made his way to Sydney, got ex Green Beret Michael Hand out and back to the United States. Authorities seemed powerless to do anything about it.

There is fertile ground for research if one is prepared to enter the Sydney crime world and seek out some of these old Mob guys, some of which are still operating. Abe Saffron would be a good place to start.

    FWIW.
