  1. Thanks, Gerry. That pretty much sums up what I believed Lacayo's form to be.

You mentioned Cmdte. Almajeiras. I take it this is Efigenio Ameijeiras? How prominent was he at Triscornia do you know? Also, do you know anything about a small group of men within the Cuban Police purportedly organized by Herminio Diaz Garcia which supposedly included Ameijeiras? I ask as Diaz Garcia was allegedly Trafficante's bodyguard during the Havana casino days and the possible connections here are curious indeed.

    Cheers,

    James

  2. James, who is he with?

The other two men are Cuban police officers. I don't know their names.

    ---------------------------------

    James:

The Cuban to the left of Santo is a fellow "inmate", and is wearing the same "Batistiano" Khaki uniform as Santo. We in the Rebel Army were prohibited from wearing "anything" Khaki colored. Even the late ("Dissident") Jesus Yanez Peletier got into a bit of a hassle during early 1959. And this was for his wearing a "Batistiano" khaki "Garrison Cap" -- what we in the Marines called a "Piss-Cutter". Fidel's lackeys were annoyed that he was photographed alongside "El Jefe Maximo" wearing the "Enemy's uniform hat".

[Yanez Peletier (R.I.P.) worked for the Mossad, and he was the guy who initially arranged for Fidel to "get-a-little" from Marita Lorenz; whose father [the merchant ship Captain] was also a Mossad agent.]

The black Cuban to Santo's right, is a Cuban Health Service Inspector, and was permitted to wear that service's uniform at the Triscornia Quarantine Station, located at: Casa Blanca, Regla, East Habana.

[Triscornia is carried in history as Cuba's "Ellis Island". From 1898 to 1904, it was a U.S. Army post called "Camp Triscornia". During the 1920s & 1930s, it was remodeled as an "Art Museum" -- and that is why the statuary remained present while Trafficante was there. Mostly unknown to the World is that: When the merchant vessel "St. Louis" arrived in Havana harbor, loaded to the "gun'els" with Jewish emmigrants fleeing Hitler; all were held at Triscornia. Those Jews who could "cough-up" $1,000 (or the equivalent) were permitted to remain in Cuba. The majority had no such wealth!! The U.S. Jewish Agency folks refused to help them with their bribes. There are some who say that: This was "intentional", as their later slaughter would raise the consciousness of the World -- and benefit millions, rather than a couple thousand, Jews, Gypsies, and some Spanish Socialists fleeing Franco !!]

Santo had a deep and wide cell to himself, and it was comfortably furnished. The cell to the left was designed for 4-6 inmates -- but was crammed with about 17 to 20 on a regular basis. Included in that cell were: Leslie Bradley, Hudson, Loran Hall,et al.!! Morgan never saw the inside of Triscornia, or El Principe Prison [where John Martino spent the "ENTIRETY" of his incarceration]!!

The commanding officer at Triscornia [when I passed through there with one of my "Squads"], was Capitan Enrique Molina Rivera -- the same DGI agent who "disappeared?" with Rorke & Sullivan off of Cozumel Island, Quintana Roo, Mexico -- during September, 1963.

After his arrest in Cmdte. Pedro Miret's office [@ the I.N.R.A. Bldg.] during October, 1960; Cmdte. Wm. Alexander Morgan was sent to, and remained on Gallery #14 inside La Cabana Fortress. He was executed at 4:00 AM on March 11th, 1961, and alongside Cmdte. Jesus Carreras (S.F.N.E.).

Good on you, Gerry. Thanks. I was going by what was written on the back of the photograph.

The Leslie Bradley you mentioned, is that the pilot who was connected to Chester Lacayo?

  3. In May, 1986, Gene Wheaton contacted Daniel Sheehan, a left-wing lawyer. Wheaton told him that Tom Clines and Ted Shackley had been running a top-secret CIA assassination unit since the early 1960s. According to Wheaton, it had begun with an assassination training program for Cuban exiles and the original target had been Fidel Castro. This unit remained in operation and people like Raphael Quintero were still being used to murder people on behalf of the CIA. It seems that in 1986 Wheaton was unwilling to disclose that Carl Jenkins and David Morales was also involved with this "assassination team".

Based on research carried out by Wheaton, on 12th December, 1986, Daniel Sheehan submitted to the court an affidavit detailing the Irangate scandal. He also claimed that Tom Clines and Ted Shackley were running a private assassination program that had evolved from projects they ran while working for the CIA. Others named as being part of this assassination team included Raphael Quintero, Richard Secord, Felix Rodriguez and Albert Hakim. It later emerged that it was not only Wheaton who was providing this information to Sheehan. The other CIA informant was Carl Jenkins. (John Simkin)

    John,

Forgive what may be a stupid question, but in Eugene Wheaton's research concerning this private assassination program, the name Albert Hakim was mentioned. Do you know if Hakim enters the picture during the Iran Contra dealings or does he wind back to the early 1960's?

    Hakim below.

  4. I do have this image but as a 5 X 7 hard copy. My scanner hasn't been working for some time so I have not copied it. The version I have shows the image flipped to the one John posted. I asked my contact who gave me the print originally to send me an electronic version.

    Here it is below.

  5. Lee,

A sidebar on Doyle Williams. He played John Connolly in the Warren Commission's official filmed reenactment of the Kennedy assassination.

Also in 1968, Williams' house burned to the ground. He and his eleven year old daughter escaped but he was unable to rescue his wife. Two fireman eventually pulled her out of the burning residence but she died a few days later suffering severe burns and smoke inhalation.

    FWIW.

  6. Attached is an article I wrote about the night before the assassination. (Bill Kelly)

    Hi Bill,

Good article indeed. When researching the Cabana did you ever come across the name Ray Randuk? He was appointed the original General Manager for the Cabana. Randuk is an interesting character given that he had previously served with the U.S. State Department connected to the government of Israel. What the details are there I have not been able to find out.

Randuk was not at the Cabana long before he moved to a high level position in a Dallas employment center. Which one I don't know but if it was the Texas Employment Center, that sure would be interesting given Oswald's visits there.

Randuk during the late 1960's moved around a fair bit being employed in managerial positions in many Dallas hotels, but not spending too long in any one spot. This is all very sketchy and none of this may mean anything. I mention it in case you can fill in some of the blanks regarding Randuk.

    Randuk below.

  7. Thanks, guys.

It seems that the distance was about .6 of a mile. Close but not quite close enough to consider that Bernard Haire would have known Oswald or at least have seen him on a regular basis.

    Tantalizing but ultimately frustrating.

    Cheers,

    James

I wonder sometimes if the "back door Oswald" wasn't Johnny Calvin Brewer, who opened the back door for the police when they arrived, and apparently got a little bit toussled before he was able to convince them he was "one of the good guys?"

A complete (as possible) description from each of these guys as to what they saw/experienced might help to clear this up, but after all these years ...?

And, of course, one must also wonder if it is not a case of someone injecting themselves into the story to get their 15 minutes of fame.

You may be right, Duke. The stretch of time is not our friend here and has a habit of twisting what really went down.

I seem to remember though that Haire was not the only witness to the back door event. The description given was of a man wearing a light shirt and I believe Brewer was wearing a dark suit. I hope I have that right.

Before Haire was married in 1957, maybe 1956, he lived at 209 West Jefferson. Given that his hobby shop was a couple of doors down from the Texas Theater (231 W. Jefferson), could that address have also been for the shop itself?

Does anyone know how long he had operated the hobby shop?

  8. Just to throw my 2 cents worth in to the mix which I'm sure some will say is overvalued, but this guy kind of looks like the son of FBI man, John Quigley. John Quigley Jr. was 28 in 1963.

I'm not sure what he was doing officially in 1963 but in 1964 he was the Assistant Personnel Director for Morton Foods and in 1967, he secured a high level position with the Dr. Pepper company.

I realize this comparison below is ultimately useless given the poor quality and the time difference, but Quigley Jr. is an interesting character none-the-less.

    FWIW.

  9. For those familiar with Dallas, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how far it would be between Oswald's old address of 214 W. Neely and 640 W. Neely? Bernard Haire, the witness who claimed to have seen Oswald or at least someone who looked like Oswald being removed via the back exit of the Texas Theater, lived at 640 W. Neely.

    Just curious really.

  10. I have noticed that Manuel Vila Ray has joined the forum. Manuel is the grandson of Manuel Ray and has agreed to answer questions about his grandfather.

First off I would like to welcome you to the forum. There are hundreds of questions that spring to mind but first off, can you offer any details about the anti-Batista Civic Resistance Movement that your grandfather was behind in 1957?

Details like who planned the acts of sabotage and who were recruited to carry them out would be greatly appreciated. Was there a specific militant arm to the organization?

    Cheers,

    James

  11. Hi Scott,

Welcome to the forum. It's nice to see a Tampa Mob expert posting. Your information and opinions will be valuable indeed.

I hope you don't mind me posing a couple of questions.

What's your view on Frank Diecidue and his place within the structure of Trafficante's organization? Do you know if Diecidue had anything to do with the Havana casino operations before Castro took power? Also regarding those days in Cuba, did you ever come across anything regarding supposed Trafficante bodyguard, Herminio Diaz Garcia?

    Cheers,

    James

  12. Ron,

It wasn't me who posted the stuff at Lancer but I can tell you that Pavlick was 73 at the time of the aborted assassination attempt. He was released from prison in 1966 having never stood trial. He then took to stalking the local postmaster and his family. A strange bird to say the least.

I have no idea when or where he died.

Here is Pavlick below and the vehicle he was going to use to blow up JFK.

  13. Hi Tom, at this link there is a photo of him in 1960, hope this helps..

    My Webpage

    Hi Ryan,

That photo which identifies Sturgis and Barker circa 1960 is in fact not Barker but Remigio 'Cuku' Arce. I made a mistake here which will be rectified as soon as John settles back in after his return from Dallas.

    My apologies to all.

  14. 8 "T"s! Wow! James is on a roll!

Well, we know Warren headed the Warren Commission.

So how about ten "w"s, James?

There's no rest for the wicked, as the saying goes! (Not really implying James is "wicked" of course, but how about that for a start: "wicked Warren"--now it's your ball, James--unless someone else takes up the challenge while you rest.)

    Okay here goes .....

Wicked Warren watching wistfully while worthless wrongful wannabe waif withers woefully without warrantable witness.

  15. I am aware of no substantial evidence that Cheney tortures turkeys. (Terrorists, maybe, but to paraphrase a former POTUS, it depends upon what your definition of torture is. (Tim Gratz)

What about terrorist turkeys? You do realize that torturing terrorist turkeys truly trangresses tolerant treaties, Tim?

I need a lie down now.

James, why must it be one or the other?

Perhaps you could be a psychotic psychic! In fact I understand there are many psychotic psychics, half of which are females, all of whom are quite attractive. Therefore, there are plenty pretty psychotic psychics!

    (I been workin' too hard!)

A psychotic psychic? I like to think of myself more as a mystic madman meditating mindfully momentous mayhem.
