Kari Lake Loses Suit Over Her Defeat In Arizona Governor’s Race

PHOENIX (AP) — "A judge has thrown out Republican Kari Lake’s challenge of her defeat in the Arizona governor’s race to Democrat Katie Hobbs, rejecting her claim that problems with ballot printers at some polling places on Election Day were the result of intentional misconduct.
In a decision Saturday, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson, who was appointed by then-Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, found that the court did not find clear and convincing evidence of the widespread misconduct that Lake had alleged had affected the result of the 2022 general election."

Page 268 of the final report documents how Trump White House official Vince Haley sent a message to Trump White House enforcer Johnny McEntee arguing that no fraud was necessary for Republican-led state legislatures to overturn the will of their states' voters.
Rather, Haley proposed, they could simply object to certifying the election results if it prevented "socialism" from overtaking the American republic.
Specifically, Haley told McEntee that "“[w]e should baldly assert” that GOP legislatures “have the constitutional right to substitute their judgment for a certified majority of their constituents” if they believe it would block the threat of socialism.
McEntee, for his part, was enthusiastic about the idea.
"Yes!” he replied. “Let’s find the contact info for all these people now."

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — "A Connecticut judge on Thursday denied Infowars host Alex Jones’ motion seeking a new trial and the overturning of a jury verdict requiring him to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to families of victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.
The ruling found the motion was not supported “by any evidence or case law.”
In October the jury decided that he must pay victims’ families $965 million in compensatory damages, and a judge later added on another $473 million in punitive damages."

Russia’s only aircraft carrier catches fire
“A fire broke out on Russia’s only aircraft carrier earlier today, Russian state media reported.
The Admiral Kuznetsov, a flagship of the Russian navy, suffered a “minor” fire while docked at the Zvyozdochka shipyard in the Arctic port of Murmansk, located in the far north-west of Russia, according to reports by the Russian state-owned Tass and Ria Novosti news agencies.”
“Aleksey Rakhmanov, head of the state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) which is overseeing a refit of the carrier, was cited as saying the blaze was quickly extinguished and caused no casualties.
Tass cited an emergency service source as saying 20 people had been evacuated.
The Admiral Kuznetsov has been out of service and in dry dock for repairs since 2018. Rakhmanov told Russian media in June that he expected the 43,000-tonne, 1,000ft warship to return to service in early 2024.”
