  1. Well, here it is. Basic empiricism for all. JFK's head is tilted forward as he clutches his throat, then his head is abruptly blasted violently backwards by the impact of the fatal bullet, obviously, fired from in front of the limo. A bullet fired from behind the limo could not possibly have created such ex nihilo front-to-back momentum of the head, as seen on film. That is not how Newton's law of conservation of momentum works. IMO, this is the intuitively (and scientifically) obvious point that Jim Garrison made to the jury in the Clay Shaw trial, while showing them the Zapruder film.
  2. Addendum: And, to be physically precise, we would have to add to the above equation the mv values of the post-collision skull and brain fragments with their respective velocities. A significant part of the bullet's momentum was, obviously, transferred to the occipital skull fragment that was blasted backward into the police officer several feet behind the limo.
  3. Pat, When I look at the Zapruder footage, I see JFK's head tilted forward as he clutches his throat. Then the fatal bullet very abruptly blows his head violently backward from that forward-leaning position. Not recoil. The law of conservation of momentum dictates that the bullet had to be moving at high velocity from front-to-back-- the same direction as the head (and body) post-collision. A mathematical equation would express this as; m1v1 +m2v2 = m1v3 + m2v4 where m1 is the mass of the bullet (and fragments) and m2 is the mass of JFK's head (and fragments) v1 is bullet velocity (pre-collision) v2 is JFK's head velocity (pre-collision) v3 is bullet velocity (post-collision) v4 is JFK's head velocity (post-collision

  5. JFK was leaning his head forward clutching his throat when the fatal bullet instantaneously blew his head violently backward. That's not recoil or a de-cerebrate reflex. It was momentum from a frontal shot to the head. The fatal bullet clearly didn't push his head down then back. It blew it violently backwards from the forward leaning position JFK was in when the bullet struck him.
  6. That's simply ridiculous. You need to study the Newtonian law of conservation of momentum. What was the momentum of the system (head + bullet) after impact? JFK's head and body were visibly slammed backward by the fatal bullet. Ergo, the bullet was moving on a vector of front-to-back prior to impact. You can't generate a front-to-back force vector with a bullet fired from behind the limo.
  7. Wrong. I used to get paid to teach physics. Tell us where you get the major front-to-back force vector that blasted an occipital skull fragment violently behind the limo, while slamming JFK's head and body backward. Such a bullet could not have come from behind the limo. It would defy basic physics. Think about this in terms of Newton's laws of motion in a system consisting of head and bullet.
  8. Honestly, it's hard to believe that some denizens of the MAGA-verse are still pushing Tucker Carlson's deflective "Patriot Purge" narrative about Trump's January 6th coup attempt. It's a desperate attempt to blame other people for Trump's criminal conduct. This is what happens when guys like Ben and Mathew Koch refuse to listen to the detailed, sworn Congressional testimony of Trump's own staffers about Trump's multi-faceted efforts to overturn the 2020 election and remain in power. How do Ben and Mathew interpret these two Trump quotes? "Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!" -- Donald Trump/December 19, 2020 "Take down the magnetometers. They're not here to harm me." --Donald Trump/January 6, 2021
  9. Again, no way. Consider three-dimensional force vectors for the fatal bullet, on x, y, and z axes. Where do you get the obvious front-to-back force vector that instantly slammed JFK's head and body backward with a bullet originating above and behind the limo? You don't. It's a physical impossibility, based on Newton's laws of motion. It wasn't de-cerebrate posturing, because the backward motion of the head was instantaneous with the impact of the bullet. Nor would a bullet striking the head from above have caused the violent front-to-back momentum. That's not how Newtonian physics works.
  10. No way. The fatal bullet had to come from the front and right of the limo. It's basic Newtonian physics.
  11. Ben, Most of your nightly posts here are usually based on the MAGA-verse media-- Daily Caller, etc. Are they busy attacking Jack Smith in the MAGA-verse this week? As for the Congressional J6 investigation this year, they were mainly focusing on the Big Orange Kahuna who was the driving force behind the Big Lie, Stop the Steal, the False Elector slates, and the J6 attack on Congress. They left the small fry who physically attacked Congress for the DOJ to prosecute.
  12. So much for Ben's confidence in due process. Ben has been refusing to watch the Congressional J6 hearings all year on the grounds that he will only trust a court verdict. (Ben is unfamiliar with the sworn testimony of Trump's own staff about J6.) Now Ben is already posting MAGA-verse spam attacking Special Counsel Jack Smith before his DOJ investigation has even commenced.
  13. Absolutely correct. A bullet striking a skull bone (on entry and exit) will transfer a significant amount of kinetic energy to the head, which is why JFK's head snapped violently backward and to the left after being struck by the fatal head shot from the Grassy Knoll area. There is no way to explain the backward trajectory of JFK's head, based on Newton's laws of motion, if the fatal bullet was fired from the TSBD. Luis Alvarez promulgated his cellophane-wrapped melon propulsion theory to explain away the damning Zapruder evidence, but it was a pseudo-scientific joke. I had to dissect a human head in medical school, and a skull is nothing like a watermelon rind.

  15. Total false equivalence, Mathew. Denial and avoidance of reality are not my typical defense mechanisms. Geez... I'm one of the guys who can't even board an airplane without thinking that the thing could, possibly, crash.
  16. No, Ben is, definitely, not a Trumper. He's just an open-minded, non-partisan guy who has refused to listen to any of the sworn testimony of Trump's own staff about what Donald was doing on January 6th and during the days and weeks leading up to the January 6th attack on Congress.
  17. Mathew, You have not only selectively edited, but misinterpreted, my posts on the subject of Aldrich. If you go back and read what I wrote about the case, I was lamenting the fact that the authorities in arch-conservative El Paso County, Colorado had ignored red flag warnings about Aldrich. The young man had made a bomb threat one year ago, yet still owned guns. As for his "family values" and political orientation, we now know that his biological parents are Mormons, and that his mother bought him body armor for Christmas. His father is a homophobic former porn star. His maternal grandfather is an arch-conservative Republican politician, and former mayor of Santee, California, who praised the Trumpsters who attacked Congress on January 6th as heroes, comparing them to Americans who fought in the Revolutionary War. That is, evidently, "the hill your side is willing to die on," while blaming Trump's coup attempt on the Deep State, eh?
  18. Mathew Koch conveniently omitted this reference from my earlier post today about Anderson Lee Aldrich. People who knew Aldrich report that he was homophobic, and never used non-binary pronouns to refer to himself. In fact, he often made angry, hostile slurs about "faggots." The Club Q mass shooter is trolling, he's a homophobic man according to friends and family https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2022/11/23/2137984/-The-Q-Club-mass-shooter-is-trolling-he-s-a-homophobic-man-according-to-those-who-know-him November 23, 2022 It's beyond irresponsible for legacy news outlets to uncritically parrot unsubstantiated volatile claims from a mass murder and hate crime suspect. Yet that is exactly what happened on Tuesday regarding last weekend’s mass shooting in Colorado Springs at Club Q. 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich, the mass shooter in question, is facing murder and hate crime charges after shooting up an LGBTQ+ bar. Five people were killed and over twenty were injured. Aldrich’s lawyers say that Aldrich is suddenly identifying as non-binary and now uses they/them pronouns. The far-right is eating this tidbit up and using this to simultaneously deflect blame of incitement from themselves while reinforcing their anti-LGBTQ+ vilification campaign. But here’s the problem: what we already know about Anderson Lee Aldrich contradicts this new non-binary claim. There is absolutely no documented history of Aldrich’s gender identity being non-binary or Aldrich’s preferred pronouns being they/them. What we do know about Anderson Lee Aldrich suggests that Aldrich identifies as a male, uses he/him pronouns, and is a vicious homophobe that uses the anti-gay slur “f*ggot” constantly. This is a false claim to remove the hate crime charges that were dropped on this kid. It's also terrible reporting it should say 'the shooter's defense lawyers claim that Anderson Aldrich is nonbinary.' This is a post from his mother the night of the murders, says son/he/him. https://t.co/kDmBPfQk9A pic.twitter.com/8kWskK0gt1 — ChudsOfTikTok (@ChudsOfTikTok) November 23, 2022
  19. The facts are still emerging about Anderson Lee Aldrich, the Colorado Springs Club Q mass shooter. His parents divorced when he was two, and he was, apparently raised by his mother and maternal grandparents in California. His grandfather is a conservative Republican politician in the San Diego area. He may be a non-observant Mormon (?) His biological father was (?) possibly a porn actor arrested on recurrent drug charges, and Aldrich changed his birth name (from Nicholas Brink) to dissociate himself from his father. His mother has, allegedly, suffered from an unknown chronic mental illness, and has had substance abuse problems. Aldrich made a bomb threat at his mother's rental home in Colorado Springs one year ago, but charges may have been dropped. He was able to purchase guns. Apparently, some people who know him claim that he has long been homophobic, and that his claim about being non-binary is a ruse to avoid hate crime charges relating to his murders at Club Q. He has a history of making hostile comments about "faggots." The Club Q mass shooter is trolling, he's a homophobic man according to those who know him (dailykos.com)
  20. Well told, indeed. I was only six years old when President Kennedy was murdered, so my narrative of that day is more like something out of the first chapter of James Joyce's Portrait of the Artist, devoid of any meaningful world/historical context. There wasn't a moo cow coming down the road, but I had walked home for lunch from school that day, since my family lived just two blocks from my grade school. When I returned to school after lunch, I noticed that some joker had lowered the flag on the flagpole in front of our school. The grounds were strangely deserted. I grabbed the steel cable and started to raise the flag. Then our principal, Mrs. Erickson, came walking out of the front door of the school and told me to leave the flag where it was and proceed to my classroom for an announcement from my teacher. I mainly recall having a vague sense of gloom about President Kennedy's murder, and my mother crying while we watched the television coverage during the ensuing days, including the somber funeral procession.
  21. This has always been a solemn day for me, as long as I can remember. Regards to all of our Education Forum members, and thanks to all of you for your research and writings about our President John F. Kennedy. Memory eternal.
  22. As a psychiatrist who occasionally had to assess and manage homicide risks during my career, this is the kind of thing that really sticks in my craw. Time and time again, these angry young mass shooters in the U.S. (almost all male) seem to slip through the cracks, even when obvious red flags were waving. If we had a functional, adequately-funded mental healthcare system in the U.S., these angry young men--from any socio-economic stratum-- who make homicide threats would be carefully evaluated and monitored over time, and, certainly, not allowed to buy guns! Our American society never seems to learn anything useful from these recurrent mass shootings. And, I might add, an inability to learn from mistakes is one working definition of stupidity.
  23. Over 600 mass shootings in the U.S. so far this year-- a staggering statistic! So, the American public is, understandably, numb. It's hardly news anymore. This one hits close to home here, in arch-conservative El Paso County, Colorado-- home of NORAD, the Air Force Academy, and right wing Protestant Evangelical organizations like Focus on the Family. [WATCH] Gunman Identified In Tragic LGBTQ Club Shooting in Colorado Springs | HillReporter I'm saddened, but not surprised, to hear that an angry, paranoid white kid with an AR-15 murdered people at an LGBT nightclub in that right wing community. There has been a lot of anti-LGBT rhetoric, and legislation, in the MAGA-verse of late. IMO, it's another manifestation of Trumplicon fascism-- the scapegoating and targeting of minority groups by a militant, nationalist political party.
  24. Yeah, sure, Mathew. I get all of my valid medical data from politicians and anecdotal anti-vax sources on YouTube. Why trust prestigious, peer-reviewed medical journals like NEJM when you can watch YouTube channels? Geez... What formal science education have you and Chris Barnard had? Do you know the difference between molecular and cellular immune responses? Between the structure and function of IgG and IgA? As for Van Morrison and Eric Clapton, they're among my favorite R&B musicians, but they're both lousy epidemiologists. You guys probably don't know that Van Morrison was raised in Jehovah's Witness kingdom halls. He's not a very rational source of scientific, medical knowledge. Neither is Eric Clapton.
  25. Ben, What is it about a NINEFOLD INCREASED RISK of death from COVID in unvaccinated adults over the age of 65 that you and Chris Barnard still don't understand? Do you and Chris know how to read graphs? Impact of Vaccination on Risk of COVID-19–Related Mortality (cdc.gov)
