  1. Hey James,

Rain has stopped but were expecting a big storm with major flooding come Tuesday, I tell ya us California folks are just to use to sunshine LOL :ice

    Lets see here,

The FAL is gas-operated, and fires from the closed-bolt position in both the semi- and full-auto. It has an operator adjustable gas regulator which works on a exhaust" principle. Under ideal conditions the major portion of the gas is passed through the regulator and out into the air. This system helps to reduce recoil.......

Chamberd in 7.62 nato which is a great round in which others are judged helps makes this rifle a accurate rifle with great ballistics. The problem with full auto in this caliber is its difficult to control, but we dont need to get into that because most of us know there was no full auto on that horrible day.

The only problem that I have with any semi auto used for the assassination is someone would be needed to "police up the brass" as the caseing would be sent flying after each shot is fired. Now for a "inside shooter" like some shooting from a building this wouldnt be that big of a problem as the brass only has a certain distance it could fly and the shooter would have "some" time to police up his brass.

Where is a outside shooter that brass can go anywhere, and if someone cares they will have to find that brass to keep the cover up in working order. Im sure if this was the scenerio, nobody wanted extra brass laying around.

Ive always wonderd about the possibilty of a semi auto being used, because of the last to shots witnesses heard were very close together, this could also mean two shooters firing simultaneously or one shooter realized the President was still alive and sent off a "double tap" in a panic in hopes of scoreing a hit.

If I have confused anyone im sorry, Im again sick with a bad cold, like I said us Californis folks are just to use to sunshine :D

Hope this might have shed some light to and gave you some answers to your question James.

  2. Ahhhh the good ol .22 :sun

I agree with Al on this, Dont get me wrong the .22 can be damn wicked at a short distance.

It would require multiple shots and I dont mean 3-4 either, it would be different if say someone unloaded a Ruger Mrk II into Kennedy's head as he drove by, which in a skilled persons hand could have been done easily but they would have been caught :D

I was talking to my father about this, he was a Homicide Det. for 17 years for the LAPD, He told me a story of how when he worked at I believe it was Newton division, back then called "shootin Newton" because they were always getting into shootouts (bad neighborhood) he talked about a close friend of his who parked his car across the street of Newton because they were doing construction on the parking lot.

His friend was dressed in plain clothes and walked across the street, a bus pulled up and some dirt bag jumped off and thought he would try and rob him with a bowie knife, by the time he pulled out his bowie and say "give me your"........he had 7 shots of .22lr in his face, dead before he hit the ground....It was found out this guy was just paroled and killed his mother in law 30 minutes before.

No recoil and great at short distance, but for the Kennedy assassination a .22 doesnt have the kenetic energy, velocity, penetration etc.

And the moral of this story, dont bring a knife to a gun fight, even if the guy only has a .22

  3. James,

Excellent post, this was a great read.

Prior to that attempt, another American, Alan Robert Nye, a 31-year-old Chicagoan, was convicted in Havana for conspiring to kill Castro. Fee: $100,000. Although a Cuban court had signed, sealed and delivered the order for his execution, Nye was allowed to leave the country for the U.S.

How is it this guy gets convicted and sentenced to death, yet basically just walks away and gets to go home?? Does anyone know anything about this Alan Robert Nye?

    Ryan & James

Castro was in 1959 making some attempt at getting along with

the U.S. Administration, Allan Robert Nye was a good-will effort

    by Castro as one result.

It is weird that Nye and I lived in the small town of Whiting, Indiana,

which is a southeastern suburb of Chicago, and where we ran into

one another after his 1959 Cuba problem. He and I did talk only a

    little on the subject.

It is reported that Nye was an officer in the U.S. navy..... Nye was

nevr talkative nor secretive, just friendly whenever we spoke.

    Harry

    Thanks Harry,

Was Castro this way with captured hit men after the Kennedy assassination?

I notice Felipe Vidal didnt get this special treatment, or was this because Nye was a American?

Another question, did Castro ever kill any Americans that were sentenced to death?

    Thanks

Kennedy Murder 'Plot' Probe Shifts to Miami Cuban Area

    By Bill Barry

Somewhere in Miami's Cuban colony today, Bernardo Torres is probably a little

    nervous.

For the past month or so he has been helping detectives from New Orleans look

for an old friend of his. They told him that his old friend was wanted for

    questioning in a criminal investigation.

Torres got nearly $600 for his help.

He could not lead the detectives to his old friend.

Today Bernardo Torres probably realizes the detectives want his old friend

because they think he knows who planned the assassination of President John F.

    Kennedy.

At least 13 investigators from the Orleans Parish District Attorney's office

have come to Miami in the past three months, seeking Torres' friend. They have

a picture which allegedly shows Lee Harvey Oswald in a comradely pose with a

group of Cubans, one of whom is Bernardo's friend.

A New Orleans source says that Jim Garrison the D.A. began his investigation

into the assassination because of tips from a private investigator. Garrison

will not say why he is investigating, nor even confirm that he is. He was one

of the investigators that came to Miami, and has spent more than $8,000 -most

of it last month- in the investigation.

The New Orleans States-Item reported yesterday that Garrison is investigating

"the possibility of a well-organized assassination plot in which New Orleans

and New Orleans residents were somehow directly involved.."

Emilio Santana used to be a New Orleans resident. He is not Torres' old

friend. Now he lives in Miami. Once he was a commercial fisherman. He is a

convicted burglar. He was told that if he did not go to New Orleans voluntarily

and answer questions raised in the investigation, he would be extradicted. He

went on Feb. 8th, and again on the 13th.

Garrison's men got the reputation of going through the Cuban colony here like

    bulls in a china shop.

Maybe that's why Bernardo Torres' friend was able to keep one jump ahead of

them until he disappeared completely in Ft. Lauderdale.

  6. Hi James,

I will try my best at answering your question.

Which rifles used that day is a difficult question to answer as there can be many, and who was pulling the triggers that day has alot to do with it.

Rifles that were used in that era for sniping ranged, I think the M1 Garand in its sniper set up was on its way out in the military, along with the m1903 in its set up as a sniper rifle, but both rifles could do the job without a problem, Another rifle that was known at that time was the Johnson rifle, as many know this type of rifle was owned by Hemming and later vanished right before the assassination, this rifle is also semi auto, and I believe the one Hemming owned was mounted with a scope.

As for bolt rifles that were not "military surplus" I think the Winchester Mod 70 was a very popular choice, then following was the Rem 700, The Winchester Mod 70 in a not so basic form but nothing advanced as what our military uses today, was used mainly by Gunny Carlos Hathcock for most of his confirms and probables, then later the Rem 700 was introduced on his 2nd tour.

The only problem I have with the Garand/Johnson being used is collecting its empties, thats unless they had a second individual with each shooter to spot for them and police up the brass when the job was done, givin that numerous witnesses said they heard close shots together could mean semi auto, but it also can mean shots being fired from numerous locations simultaneously.

The M1903 which is more accurate then either rifle the Garand or Johnson, especially at longer ranges would have been a ideal choice as it was a popular rifle, accurate and easy to come by at that time.

I have always believed that a grassy knoll shooter would have greater success with open sights at this close of range, due to his FOV and trying to pan and make a lead shot makes it very difficult with a scoped rifle, especially if a follow up shot was needed.

I think what it boils down to is, who you believe were shooters that day, and what they had access to, and were trained/comfortable with.

Trying to figure which rifles were used is VERY difficult because any good deer hunting rifle could have pulled this off, but what we do know is, it wasnt a mediocre shot and a Carcano that pulled the trigger that day LOL, so we can eliminate that rifle from the list and Oswald as a shooter :D

I will try to be more of a help later on, but 3 hours sleep and the flu has been kickin my sorry butt all day. Sorry for any mis spelled words, and confusing things more with that post :)

  7. To give the readers a sense of the real-world impact of barrel vibration on a bullet's terminal ballistic point of impact: Tests conducted by the US Army on the venerable old M1903 Springfield Rifle which is superior to any M38 Carcano by several orders of magnitude, using standard military ammunition, the angular movement of the muzzle due to vibration equal to more than 40 ft. at 1,000 yards. This is the reason why the M38 Carcano is generally concidered a piece of crap to members of my trade.

    John,

First and foremost excellent post and dead on, second your last sentence had me laughing so hard I just about fell out of my chair, I couldnt agree more.

I have been beating a dead horse with Lners about why the Carcano is the biggest piece of crap to ever had its trigger pulled and released.

Its good to see you mention the good ol M1903, a rifle that would shoot clover leafs compared to the Carcano, Im a Garand man myself

Folks just dont realize that with the Carcano, Oswalds lack of ability, firing from a elevated position, on a moving away target under heavy "buck fever", It just isnt going to happen. When I look at the situation, the tool used, and the bone head that was suppose to be behind the trigger, I cant help but laugh as it seems like someone playing a sick joke on the American public. Non shooters just wont see it like we see it.

The question I always ask to folks who believe the Oswald scenerio is, Where did Oswald learn to shoot from a elevated position, let alone a moving target. The answer I always get is, it was under 100 yards how hard can it be.........I ask "have you ever tried to take a lead shot under 100, let alone pan with that piece of crap."......That question is never answerd LOL.

Excellent post, and I enjoyed reading your post on the "The Moschettieri Del Duce Carcano".

  8. Excellent stuff Richard,

The reason why I believe DCM and UM are Felipe Vidal and Hargraves is these two worked ALOT together, these two were very close and trusted one another.

I havent heard of Felipe Vidal and Novel ever working on mission together, If they have I am all ears.IMHO If that is Felipe then the chances of the other being Hargraves is very high.

  9. I was specific, this thread is a joke and has nothing to do with researching the JFK assassination, she NEVER answerd question that other folks here brought forward to her......

When the going got tough, she split, its the same old story:tomatoes

This is why hardly ANYONE believes her except you Pam and Wim actually believe her...

Do us all a favor John, shut this down as it isnt going anywhere.

  10. WOW I learned the same thing as always when it comes to Judyth Baker. questions that are brought forward never get answers , her VERY few supporters turn it into a soap opera and then when the going gets tough,....she leaves............Makes me want to run right out and buy that book :hotorwot

Stay tuned in a couple of months, Judyth will return, on "As The World Turns".

This thread needs to be closed, nothing productive has come from it, only unanswerd questions which ALWAYS happens in a Judyth thread.

  11. Stephen,

Excellent stuff, I believe on AJ Webermans site when talking with Hemming, Hemming mentions Ferrie as a main figure at this camp, and Ferrie wanted nothing to do with Hemming.

I think with Ferrie being a visitor at Banisters office in 63 and numerous people seeing anti cubans at this same address at that time, one has to wonder if Ferrie was still connected to these folks in some manner.

I have never heard of the break in at Banisters office, Could this have been the reason why he was thinking people were stealing his files?

  12. Stephen,

Very interesting, its obvious it was very important, makes you wonder what happend to it, another thing is I wonder why he didnt return it once the Garrison investigation started? When found dead was there anything in reports etc. that state if his home looked as if it was "searched" by anyone?

With the Garrison investigation going on, him being a suspect in it, this envelope might be the reason he died all of a sudden....Interesting indeed, thanks for posting that.

  13. Stephen,

Like I said in my other post, welcome aboard. Its good to hear both sides of the story and am glad you have joined this forum and maybe help shed some light on who David Ferrie really was as there are so many stories about him.

IMHO The entire Judyth Baker story has become a soap opera here "as the world turns" and is getting old......Its time to research and not get into a pissing match with the he said she said.

I agree with your opening comment "Let me begin by staing that I wish we could just end this discussion. The damage has been done. Let us bring it to a close".
