Jack White
Bell appears to show the Curry car leading the Limo into the underpass. More mystery - the train, clearly seen in Wiegman across the overpass, is not in Bell. One of these is either taken at another time/day or there was a train moving, or....?! 'Who's zoomin' who?' Peter...there is no train on the overpass. What you see over the top of the overpass is several highway signboards near Stemmons. Jack
Jack White
Sorry, Lamson..."camera smear" don't fly. Dankbaar, Mack and Miller must explain the the two hardtop cars by the south car before they can claim to know what Wiegman shows. Name the two cars. There are only limited possibilities. There were only four hardtop cars ahead of Wiegman. Take your pick. Jack

The entire image is smeared, and all in the same direction as the smear on the side of the sedan. Try again next time, you failed this round. It is a train, or an 'artificial artifact' IMO. Peter...trust me. I drive that way frequently. The center sign says TURNPIKE. The right sign says STEMMONS. The smaller white signs have US HWY NUMBERS. They are far past the top of the underpass. I can post an enlargement if you want. Jack
Bernice Moore
The car that takes up much of the Weigman frame is the so-called telephone car, the fifth car behind JFK's limo. It therefore appears that the two cars shown ahead of it on the left are LBJ's security car and whichever car was behind it. I can't make much sense of the blurry objects to the left of the cars, except for what looks like an unmanned motorcycle. I first thought that it could be Hargis's, where he left it to run across the street, but it appears to be too far down Elm to be Hargis's. Ron...the "so-called telephone car" was called the Press Pool Car carrying the reporters from the major news services, including AP's Merriman Smith. It was on loan from the telephone company and did have a mobile phone (rare in those days). If you check, as I did, there were four HARDTOP cars at the front of the parade... 1. Pilot Car...white Ford 2. Lead Car...white Ford 3. Halfback...pale yellow Mercury (seen in Altgens behind LBJ) 4. Press Pool...gray Chevrolet The Pilot Car was ahead of the lead motorcycles, and cannot be in Wiegman. THREE HARDTOP CARS ARE SEEN IN WIEGMAN. The Chevy Press Pool car is in the foreground. The OTHER TWO CARS CAN ONLY BE CURRY AND HALFBACK! All others were convertibles. Check it out, and tell me what the two sedans are ahead of the Press Pool car. Jack **************** These may help........... B...
Ron Ecker
Bernice, Thanks for the photo of the car alignment. My guess is that the car shown (blurred) on the left in Weigman is the VP Secret Service car, and the mayor's convertible is in front of the pool car and can't be seen. I can't identify the blurred objects on the far left, but suspect they involve possibly Hargis's motorcycle, people on the grass, and traffic on Main. Craig Lamson
Jack.......B...... Or it just might be that the car is camera movement blurred like the rest of the image. Edited December 24, 2007 by Craig Lamson
Robin Unger
Jack.......B...... Or it just might be that the car is camera movement blurred like the rest of the image. Overall i found this one frame to be VERY blury. BUT what i do see, is two motorcycle cops, one on the left standing next to his bike which is leaning to the left. And the one on the right, is sitting on his bike with his back back facing us.
Jack White
Thanks, Robin... I have always thought the two "blips" over the top of the Pool Press Car are motorcop helmets. What do you think? Jack
Chris Davidson
Jack/Robin The lower arrow points to an open car door. Notice shape of black area and outer left end of it. The right arrow to someone either exiting or entering. Also, someone (possibly) a little lighter, just to the left of the exiting person. The top arrow to the helmet of a cycle cop, who is past the open door. What's interesting about these two frames: In order to get the press pool car going forward, I had to switch the frame positions with each other. Checked two different versions. Anyone know what that light/flash is, on the right side of the animation, up against the underpass? chris Edited December 24, 2007 by Chris Davidson
Robin Unger
Chris. Were there motorcycle cops in these two positions. As Jack mentioned, on closer inspection they do appear to be motorcycle cop helmets. Edited December 24, 2007 by Robin Unger

It shows very plainly on my copy, which came from film, not video. Your animation seems to show the back door opening. As for someone exiting or entering, I think that is a rear view of a motorcop on his bike. I don't see it on my copy. As for switching the frames, perhaps the car was backing up, not going forward. Chris Davidson
Robin, I think those are cop helmets too, above the press pool car. They appear to be farther down the street than the convertible, that is just in front of the press pool car. The closest footage we have of this time(that I know of) is the cop on the south side of Elm, early in the Bell footage. The cop in early Bell, could be a match for the cop in Wiegman who is past the open car door. Also have Paschall, but she only shows the press pool car as it races past the cycle which is between the concrete pillars. Jack, Not the limo flag, but higher up the embankment.
