Carone connection to Malcolm X murder case?

Something just popped up in my mind and what popped up in my mind is Al Carone. Al Carone is the CIA paymaster and New York Police Detective. It is a well known fact that there is suggestion that New York Police or CIA is involved in the murder of Malcolm X. Did Al Carone know about Malcolm X case since he is both NYPD and CIA?

Beware of people who turn up in every op...

It bothers me, for instance, that Rodney Stich has Edwin Wilson smuggling drugs in Central America when Joe Trento has him running arms in North Africa and the Middle East.  I'm not sure Shackley and Clines wanted him in Western Hemisphere ops.
