Some interesting logistical questions raised here about the shooting, though the wound discussion is a lot of reaching, and refuted by the doctor/nurses statements David Whelen researched:

The level to which you are misinformed about this is truly staggering, to say nothing of the unspoken implication you're making. They didn't "transform" her into anything. Her first husband, to whom she was married in 1959, was a New York photographer named Hans Lownds, He was a widow, and his previous wife was named Shirley. He asked if his new bride would change her name, so that he would not need to be reminded daily of the pain of his previous wife's passing. She agreed. She was using this name when she met and later married Dylan. They were together for 13 years and raised five talented, well-adjusted children. The end.

My point (which you ignored) is the fact that Bob's choosing the second anniversary of the assassination of JFK, 11.22.65,  to 'marry' Shirley/Sara speaks volumes, imo, toward what I consider his claim as an 'invisible man' in the assassination of JFK.

BTW, Shirley/Sara was recruited by Grossman's wife, Sally.  Bob tried to fulfill the iteration of 'family man' but the 'marriage' was exposed as a sham.  This is even predicted, in Bob's own inimitable way, in Visions of Johanna, which was written in part on November 9, 1965.  In it, Sara (Louise),is portrayed as a bore;  Bob is miserable, and instead is desperately yearning for the elusive and seductive Johanna.

And as far as demise of the 'marriage' is concerned, it all blew up in a very public way, including the agonizing album Blood on the Tracks.  Surely you have heard of that?
