Trump pays tribute to service members killed in Afghanistan pullout – while Biden vacations in Delaware

Recommended Posts

Get a clue, Gil.

Trump surrendered to the Taliban at Doha in February of 2020.

Then Trump abruptly withdrew almost all U.S. troops from Afghanistan before Biden's Inauguration-- against the advice of U.S. generals-- precipitating the rapid collapse of the Afghan Army and government.

Fox News and the MAGA media propagandists covered up Trump's role in the collapse of the Afghan Army and government-- repetitiously blaming Trump's Afghanistan policy blunders on Joe Biden.

Trump and his media goons are still at it, obviously.

And, sadly, many Trumpsters still don't know what really happened.

Anyone that calls our service members "suckers and losers" isn't fit to be President.

But that's just one of the hundreds of reasons Trump is unfit.

Thank god we will be done with the scourge of MAGA sedition after Trump loses on Nov. 5th.

Draft dodger Trump crapped on Vietnam Prisoner of War John McCain.

McCain could have gotten out of going to the war, like Trump did. But McCain served.

McCain was tortured in captivity, leaving him with disabilities for the rest of his life.

Trump says he likes people that weren't captured - thereby crapping on all Prisoners of War.

There was a time, not so long ago, when conservatives honored the sacrifice of our fighting men and women. Now they willingly carry water for a draft dodger that insults Prisoners of War and calls our dead soldiers "suckers" and "losers."

Two members of Donald Trump's campaign staff had a verbal and physical altercation Monday with an official at Arlington National Cemetery, where the former president participated in a wreath-laying ceremony, NPR has learned.

A source with knowledge of the incident said the cemetery official tried to prevent Trump staffers from filming and photographing in a section where recent U.S. casualties are buried. The source said Arlington officials had made clear that only cemetery staff members are authorized to take photographs or film in the area, known as Section 60.

When the cemetery official tried to prevent Trump campaign staff from entering Section 60, campaign staff verbally abused and pushed the official aside, according to the source.

Trump participated in an event to mark the third anniversary of a deadly attack on U.S. troops in Afghanistan as U.S. forces withdrew from the country; 13 U.S. service members were killed in the attack. The Trump campaign has blamed President Biden and Vice President Harris, now the Democratic presidential nominee, for the chaotic withdrawal.

In a statement to NPR, Steven Cheung, the Trump campaign's spokesman, strongly rejected the notion of a physical altercation, adding: "We are prepared to release footage if such defamatory claims are made.

"The fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of President Trump's team during a very solemn ceremony," Cheung said in the statement.

The Trump campaign declined to make that footage immediately available.

In a statement to NPR, Arlington National Cemetery said it "can confirm there was an incident, and a report was filed."

"Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate's campaign," according to the statement. "Arlington National Cemetery reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants."

Look at how Republicans are honoring our fallen soldiers: breaking the law and shoving people who work at Arlington.

Traitors like Trump.

Matt,

I noticed this morning that journalists in the mainstream media failed to report on the full Arlington story.

Coverage focused solely on Trump's goons clashing with the Arlington cemetery staff.

The larger story is Trump's planned public relations stunt blaming Biden for the Afghanistan debacle that Trump triggered by surrendering to the Taliban and abruptly withdrawing the U.S. military from Afghanistan before Biden's 2021 Inauguration.

Amen to that, W.  100%.

It looks like Trump and his sales team are doubling down on Trump's false propaganda trope about Afghanistan-- blaming Biden for Trump's surrender to the Taliban and withdrawal of U.S. troops, prior to Biden's Inauguration.

JD Vance's latest bs is being pitched right after Trump's sleazy Arlington photo op.

My hunch is that Faux News is also pushing this bogus Trump narrative.

Trump’s secret Arlington Cemetery plan

Josh Marshall says that Donald Trump's campaign event at Arlington Cemetery was even worse than you think:

The idea was to lay a wreath honoring the 13 members of the U.S. military who were killed during the evacuation of Kabul in 2021 and film a political ad. They would distribute the video and attack Vice President Harris and President Biden for not “showing up” for their campaign event, which they sought to portray was an established memorial.

Is this true? Josh doesn't cite a source, which was obviously deliberate. I wonder why? On the other hand, it sure sounds like something Trump would do, doesn't it?

The Trump team's response to being caught with their hands in the cookie jar has been pure Trump: Attack, attack, and attack harder. A Trump spokesperson berated the Arlington official who asked them to stop as having a "mental health episode." After the Army defended her, a Trump campaign advisor blasted them as a bunch of "hacks." Trump himself posted a campaign video of the event and then insisted that it wasn't a campaign event and that it was he who had been mistreated. And J.D. Vance furiously told Kamala Harris to "go to hell" even though she hadn't said anything.

Welcome to another day in the Trump campaign.

The Arlington National Cemetery who was pushed declined to press charges because she was afraid of retaliation by Trump's supporters.

Retaliation for what? For doing her job and attempting to enforce the law.
