Report details JFK killing - Liz Smith

Last November we told you about a book titled "Ultimate Sacrifice," which purported to offer new details about the death of President John F. Kennedy. It's too complicated to go into all the revelantions in this massive work by Lamar Waldron, but let itsuffice to say that the San Francisco Chronicle recently ran a rave review written by Ronald Goldfarb. He was the Mafia prosecutor under Attorney General Bobby Kennedy and this is the first time anyone closely associated with either brother has offered praise for a JFK assassination book.

Now we can tell you that NBC has completed an hour-long documentary focusing on the information in "Ultimate Sacrifice" and this top-secret project will air soon on the Discovery Channel. It is to be titled "Conspiracy Files: JFK" and will include material withheld from the Warren Commission and from congressional investigations as well. Such material has never been seen on TV before.

Some of the protagnonists are Mafia kingpin Johnny Rosselli and other godfathers telling how they tried to kll the president first in Chicago, then in Tampa and later in Dallas, where they ultimately succeeded. This documentary will offer the only TV interview in more than 40 years with Abraham Bolden, the first African-American Secret Service agent assigned to the WHite House. Framed by Rosselli's gang, he was arrestd on the day he went to appear before the Warren Commission. He has fought for a very long time to clear his name.

Discovery will offer us a few startling realities about how the Secret Service destroyed crucial files covering the Tampa and Chicago attempts. And how there are still "well over 1 million CIA records" about the assassination that remain secret even to this day.

Interesting. I know this may be somewhat of a stupid question, but is there any information as to when "soon" is, or exactly when this will air?

Believe it or not, I have to plan well in advance to watch anything on prime time TV. I am really interested in seeing this program.

An excerpt from Liz Smith's February 25th column for the Chicago Tribune:

THIS NOVEMBER marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. There are many specials and new books being readied, including, but of course, a release of Oliver Stone's controversial movie, "JFK" (Oliver will probably stuff it with a lot of scenes cut from the original release.)

Also, ABC-TV will air a documentary about how JFK's assassination changed life forever in the United States, especially for young people. Not for the better. The show is produced and will be hosted by Tom Hanks. Hanks wrote, starred in and directed "That Thing You Do!" about a Beatles-like band that becomes famous in 1964, in the wake of JFK's murder. Hanks himself has said "1964 was the last great year of innocence."

If you want to read a riveting version of JFK's death, I highly recommend Bill O'Reilly's "Killing Kennedy."

Mr. Kelly, Liz Smith? How about a little Operation Mockingbird to go.

Mr. Hogan, Bill O'Reilly? Just because the Koch Brothers buy 500,000 copies of your book, it doesn't make it worth reading...

Mr DeFiore, you can email Liz Smith and tell her.

If you're thinking of buying this book, I'd suggest taking a minute to think twice. There's nothing there of substance, except for people that plan a formal review of some kind.

I stopped in my local bookstore, found a chair and sped read the entire book in an hour. I took no notes, but this is from a pretty good memory.

Very little of the book dealt with "killing kennedy." The parts that did were weak beyond belief......
