  1. The SS part is self-evident. They screwed up big time. Billy Joel is a better driver than Bill "What's going on?" Greer. Kennedy, like most pols, was an affection hog. He also had a streak of fatalism. His fave poem was "I Have a Rendezvous with Death." He knew certain elements hated him in a country flush with guns. But it mattered little. He didn't want anything coming between him and the people. It was the perfect storm of ego and poor security.
  2. Or maybe he couldn't understand what Roberts was saying due to the din of the car and motorcycle engines. It's plausible.
  3. FROM : ATSAIC Emory P. Roberts, The White House Detail. U. S. Secret Service November 29, 1963. SUBJECT: Schedule of events prior to and after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas on Friday November 22, 1963. 11:25 a.m. The President and Mrs. Kennedy with members of the Presidential Party departed Carswell A.F.B., Texas via USAF 26,000 (Jet, also known as AF 1) enroute to Love Field, Dallas, Texas. The following members of the United States Secret Service were aboard this aircraft. ASAIC Roy T. Kellerman, in charge of White House Detail for the Texas trip, SA Clinton Hill in charge of Mrs. Kennedy's security, SA William Greer Presidential driver, ATSAIC Emory P. Roberts, in charge of 8 am-4 p.m. shift, with SA's John Ready, Donald Lawton and William McIntyre. SA John O'Leary was also aboard AF 1. Special Agent Glen Bennett of the 8 a.m.-4 p.m. shift arrived Dallas, Texas aboard USAF 6970. 11:40 a.m. Presidential Plane arrived Love Field, Dallas, Texas, which was five minutes late according to schedule, as we were due there at 11:35 a.m. After the usual greeting of approximately 20 people, upon deplaning, the President and Mrs. Kennedy walked to roped off area and shook hands with a number of the assembled persons gathered there, and autographed a few papers and pamphlets. I accompanied the President, as well as other Special Agents while he greeted the people. The President and Mrs. Kennedy returned to their car. 11:55 a.m. The President (right rear seat), Mrs. Kennedy (left rear seat) Governor John Connally (of Texas) (right jump seat) Mrs. Connally (left jump seat) ASAIC Roy T. Kellerman front seat, with SA William Greer driving, (SS car 100 X--top removed) departed Love Field. SA Donald Lawton of 8 a.m.-4 p.m. shift remained at Love Field with SA Warner and Rybka to set up security for the President's departure for Bergstrom AFB, Austin, Texas. The Presidential aircraft was due to depart Dallas at 2:35 p.m. The following persons departed Love Field in Secret Service Follow-up car, 679 X and were located in and on running boards of car as follows: ATSAIC Emory P. Roberts--front seat--operating radio. SA Samuel Kinney--driving (did an excellent job) Mr. Kenneth O'Donnell, Appointment Secretary to the President, left jump seat. Mr. David Powers, Presidential Aide, right jump seat. SA Glen Bennett, left rear seat. SA George Hickey, right rear seat (manning AR-15 (rifle) SA Clinton Hill, left running board, front. SA William Mclntyre, left running board, behind Hill. SA John D. Ready, right running board, front. SA Paul Landis, right running board behind Ready. Note: On shift report for Nov. 22, 1963, I listed SA Rybka as riding in center of rear seat, which was in error, as he was not in car. As mentioned above, he remained at Love Field. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It would help if we had a SS duty roster for Nov 22 which states who should have been where. I strongly doubt Rybka was assigned to the QM, but maybe the document will prove me wrong.
  4. I give them credit for the clever phrasing, but they must have felt like sh*t an hour later. At least I hope so.
  5. The real issue was the open car. Had the first shot hit Kennedy in the head, agents on the bumpers would have been rendered useless. But Kennedy was a press-the-flesh kinda guy, so he took his chances (in private and public). Even if Rybka had hopped aboard the QM, the odds that he and he alone would have instantaneously recognized the shots and raced past John Ready to the limo in time to cover JFK are a million to one.
  6. It's obvious by now that I don't put much stock in the "Rybka left behind" polemic, but the subject of agents on the bumpers is an interesting one. After perusing a number of still photographs, I'm curious as to what conditions had to me met to warrant placing agents on the rear of the car. Houston, 1962: normal crowds, no bumper agents Berlin, 1963: dense crowds, agents on bumpers Honolulu, 1963: dense crowds, no bumper agents Tampa, 1963: relatively light crowds, agents on bumper San Antonio, Nov 21 1963: light crowds, no bumper agents The Tampa motorcade occurred three days before Dallas. Crowds were light, and the city didn't have nearly the same reputation as Dallas. Nevertheless, agents were placed on the bumpers. If Tampa, why not Dallas? Or for that matter, San Antonio? That's the question that's never been answered to my satisfaction. Dallas was the city everyone was worried about, yet the security looked like something you'd see in Des Moines. There's a rumor floating that Kennedy requested that agents not ride the bumpers anymore. If so, Clint Hill didn't get the memo, since he left the QM three separate times that day. Does anyone seriously believe he would deliberately defy an executive order? My theory: the SS made it up. After all, dead men like JFK tell no tales--nor can they contradict you. As for the vid narrator ascribing nefarious intent to Roberts, well, that's just beyond the pale. These guys have been wracked with guilt for years, and the dead can no longer defend themselves. SS incompetence + Kennedy's arrogance got him killed, nothing more. Rybka: is that a smile on his face? Doesn't look too outraged to me.
  7. Because their unnecessary presence in the car compromised the President's safety. The QM should have been staffed by security personnel only. That's hardly a radical opinion. Nothing against the men personally, but if you've ever read Seymour Hersh's "Camelot" or "Power and Grace," you'd know that Dave Powers was a first-class scumbag whose sole job was to get JFK laid. Not alive to remember JFK; too young to vote for Reagan. Why the query? Was the Kennedy Admin some paragon of virtue or something? Do you really believe our innocence was "lost," or that Vietnam never would have happened? Oswald did it and there's been great progess in cementing that original conclusion. Wrong. You've got nothing. "Wishing" for something doesn't make it so. Panel after panel of independent experts have verified the authenticity of the photos and x-rays. On your side is Robert "OJ" Groden and Jack "Photogrammetry" White. LOL. So what? What the hell is sinister about mopping up blood and brain matter? For all they knew that car would have to be used to ferry people back to Love Field. You're right: nobody had the presence of mind to treat the car as a crime scene, but light mopping doesn't erase the Zap film, eyewitnesses, ballistics, forensics, and autopsy pix--all of which point to one person and one location. Well gee, your kind has been digging deeper for far longer. Result? Zilch. Posner was right: case closed.
  8. Watched it again - Rybka is initially running alongside of the Lincoln as it begins to leave Love Field, protecting Kennedy as per his assignment. It's when he turns to join his place in the Queen Mary where he becomes confused. - lee He was supposed to protect Kennedy at Love Field and that's it. Agents are always left behind to tend to AF1. The real "crime" was two civilians like Powers and O'Donnell taking up precious space in the QM. They had no business being there.
  9. If you really believe this is true, Mr. Slattery, could you kindly explain why you are wasting your time (and ours) on this forum? To help you. I'm staging a mass intervention.
  10. I'm the slanderer? As opposed to the valentines he sends my way time and again? I guess your "purpose" is to shill for a thin-skinned buddy. Clue me in: exactly how did I "disrupt" the discussion? By responding? By doing some homework on Rybka and his duties that day? For having the audacity to disagree with the hateful premise? What is it about a dialogue that terrifies you so? FYI, some motives (9-11 an inside job; US never landed on the moon; Holocaust denials) deserve to be demeaned. NO, censorious a-holes like yourself are a far bigger threat to civilization. And I don't like blowhards who profess to value dissent and free speech, yet brutally suppress it whenever possible. My rights trump your eggshell-thin ego. Get lost. I rest my case. My chastising of you does not mean I am sticking up for Mark. Although I appreciate his efforts here, we are not "buddies". Ego? You impose your frailties upon me? Please, ego is what you are all about. The ALL-KNOWING Slattery tells us all we have to know. To believe otherwise is to be a cretin, correct? Demeaning remarks, name-calling and full-on propaganda propagation are not what I would regard as the best use of the "free-speech" you profess to value so much. Your dogged determination to spread your version of events, pretending that they are far superior to those as described by Palamara, is nothing short of ludicrous. When you muster the courage to free yourself from the childish manner in which you present your "opinions", read that "personal attacks", you might actually be of some use someday. Until then, in my opinion, you are just another one of the mindless, lock-stepping sheep, that have helped the cover-up of the JFK murder to continue for far too long. Please, if you must continue to spread your manure, save me a bagfull? My garden needs fertilizing. Chuck Chuck, I can only conclude that you have nothing of value to contribute to the Rybka issue. Instead, you want to make this all about me. Newsflash: JFK's murder was solved 42 years ago. By stubbornly resisting reason, common sense, and an avalanche of facts, you and your ilk have turned Nov 22 into a colossal waste of time. Had Oswald been a Bircher, you would have lost all interest in "conspiracies" and so-called "coverups" because it would have fit well with Dallas being the "city of hate." But LHO was a big lefty, so when the crime didn't fit your mental template, you MADE it fit by throwing a bunch of disparate groups together (CIA, Big Oil, Walker, the Hunts, LBJ, Nixon, Bush, Secret Service, anti-Castro brigade, etc). Gen. Walker and the Birchers are interesting figures, but they had squat to do with 11-22-63. Stop chasing shadows on the Knoll and get a life. Please.

  12. I probably know as much about the SS as the average person here. I'm certainly no SS "groupie" like Vince, nor have I read his manuscript. I'm aware that Clint Hill is displeased with it, as is Tony Marsh, who was quoted in some way without his permission. The buzz is that Vince attributes sinister motives to the SS on that awful day, not just incompetence. If so, that's a slander that should not stand.
  13. Oh dear. My very own personal stalker has returned. He sits back, waits for me to post, then pounces. Quite a life you got there, Mark. Guess it beats playing Scrabble at the 4-H Center. Wilson posted about Rybka, and I calmly and methodically responded. Exactly how is that "stifling" discussion? By merely disagreeing? If so, are you mentally ill? Whose interests are you representing, Mark? Aging nerds who live with their parents? The mystery widens ...
  14. "This is different angles of [the Kennedy motorcade] leaving Love Field," Palamara said, as the video rolled. Using a red "laser light" pointer, he identified various agents, and supplied narration: "This is John Ready ... Paul Landis ... here they are, leaving Love Field ... Henry Rybka --- thinking that he's going to be doing what he just did the last few stops --- this is when Emory Roberts rises in his seat in the followup car ... and we see some hand gestures ... basically tells [Rybka] to cease and desist from his actions. Paul Landis is even making room for him on the followup car! And this is when you'll see Henry Rybka ... I think a picture says a thousand words, well this is about as close as you can get here ---" I’ve seen the grainy b&w vid on the Lancer site, and at first glance it does look somewhat incriminating—esp when combined with Palamara’s intentionally sinister narration at the Lancer conference. What Palamara omits is that Clint Hill too can be seen jogging behind the limousine, on Jackie Kennedy’s side. When Emory Roberts barks out his instructions, Hill doesn’t throw up his hands like Rybka. Instead, he dutifully returns to the front of the Queen Mary. Rybka does not. In fact, Rybka looks like the most confounded man on the planet. But how can this be? A Secret Service agent’s post is not decided at the last minute or on a whim. Rybka HAD to know where he was to be stationed that day, be it on the limo bumper, the Queen Mary, or Love Field. Since every minute of a presidential motorcade is planned with extraordinary forbearance, confusion is not an option, and nor is it likely. Agents don’t just pile into the Queen Mary or stand on the running boards at random. There is no free-lancing. Palamara’s right when he observes that a "picture says a thousand words," but who says they should be his words? Couldn’t this have been Rybka’s screwup? Since SS agents rarely planted themselves on the bumpers when crowds were light, why would Rybka have been on the bumper departing Love Field? Crowds were sparse on the initial departure, with two motorcycles flanking the president’s right. Roosting on the bumper under those conditions, and by 1963 standards, would have been deemed an overreaction. And as the next image flickered on the screen in slow motion, the Lancer audience rumbled in astonishment --- the words "Wow!" and "Jesus!" leap out from my tape recorder. For as Henry Rybka is seen being summoned from his usual position back to the followup car, he issues a confused palms-up gesture that seems to say, "What gives?" Rybka was left behind at Love Field. No shock that the lemmings in the audience would eat this up, but was the bumper really his "usual position"? This flunks a common sense test. Clint Hill testified that agents only left the Queen Mary when crowds were especially dense, or if the motorcycle escorts had temporarily left either side of the limo vulnerable. Neither criterion was met at Love Field. And Rybka was "left behind"? Talk about loaded language. Again, that implies malice of forethought, but no proof is ever supplied. Roberts and Rybka are dead, so reckless speculation fills in the holes. Even Palamara concedes that other agents quickly made room for Rybka, who declined to jump on board. That’s supposed to be Roberts’ fault? Isn’t it possible that Rybka was acting like a spoiled child? Isn’t it possible that HE forgot his exact assignment that day? "And the most amazing thing of all," Palamara continued, "is the fact that there is not one report, not two reports, but three reports after the fact, placing Rybka in the followup car! But he wasn't there! Again --- either they assumed he did hop into the car, or there was a coverup. Take your pick..." Well gee, Roberts and company had to know that the WC had photographic and testimonial evidence of everyone in the follow-up car, so to intentionally and falsely add Rybka’s name to multiple reports doesn’t seem too bright. The lie would be too easy to uncover. Was there reason for Roberts to worry about Rybka in the first place? Not that I can see. To the best of my knowledge, Rybka was never interviewed by the WC, and never publicly accused Roberts of being complicit in the President’s murder. Considering that Rybka was usually stationed on the Queen Mary, I’d venture that the reports simply reflected that familiarity. Palamara’s lament has everything to do with hindsight. "If only Rybka had been allowed to do his job that day, history would have turned out different." Baloney. It's presentism at its most noxious. If Vince can produce a SS duty roster for Nov 22 which states that Rybka was to man the right rear bumper of the limo--or the running boards of the QM--I’ll back off. The clock is ticking, Vince.
  15. Relatives of the infamous are frequently seduced by theories of innocence. Sadly, Marina has fallen under the spell of the buffs in recent years. She used to be a sympathetic figure. Used to be.
  16. I said earlier that Kennedy's do not bury their children in miserable boxes like the one shown in the photo. How do I know that? Because NOBODY buries their children in miserable boxes like that, and only a complete idiot would think that it is even remotely possible. Uh huh. And who said she was actually buried in said box? Certainly not moi. Who was clueless about the stillborn child? That would be you. Be a man and take your medicine.
  17. Flattery will get you everywhere, John. Actually it is so much fun demonstrating what an idiot Mr. Slattery is that I decided to come out of retirement. Mr. Slattery is such an idiot that he cannot even do a simple thing like quote Voltaire accurately. What Voltaire actually said was: "Not only is it extremely cruel to persecute in this brief life those who do not think the way we do, but I do not know if it might be too presumptuous to declare their eternal damnation." Perhaps Mr. Slattery feels he is being persecuted on this forum. I hope he doesn't develop a complex. I'm confused. Didn't you leave the forum in a huff? Did you miss me? xxoo -B-
  18. Time to loosen the tinfoil hat, Ray. Sorry to spoil your pro-conspiracy echo chamber, but I'm here to stay. Well I don't know if you are a betting man, Brendan, but I would not bet the ranch on that if I were you. My time is valuable, and I refuse to waste it on a forum that allows the likes of you to waste it. This forum was established for the express purpose of genuine inquiry into the JFK assassination, something you have no interest in, quite obviously. Either you go, or I go. I will leave it to John Simkin to decide. Voltaire: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” J. Raymond Carroll: "To hell with free speech and dissent. I'm taking my ball and going home." Don't let the door ...
  19. On another thread this evening I felt compelled to point out that Brendan Slattery is an idiot with no interest in pursuing the truth about the JFK assassination. The quote above is further proof of Mr. Slattery's idiocy. Kennedys do not bury their children in miserable boxes like the one shown in the photo, and JFK never had a stillborn child. You are wrong again J. JFK certainly DID have a stillborn child, a daughter, on August 23, 1956, and she IS buried in the Kennedy gravesite at Arlington National Cemetary. Here it is:http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=3001. You can find confirmation of this at arlingtoncemetary.net and in an article published in the St. Petersburg Times on July 20, 1999 regarding whether JFK Jr. would be buried there too. I don't know whether she was interred in the box in question, but you assertion "JFK never had a stillborn child" is flat out wrong. He did, and the child is buried with him. Thanks for helping me bitchslap Ray. Granted, it doesn't take much effort, since his sloppiness is always his undoing. Ray, I never said the stillborn child was buried in that shabby little box. All I said was that it was possible that it contained the remains. In all likelihood, the box was a temporary shipping/holding container. If you've ever visited JFK's grave, you'd notice that the stillborn daughter (yes, she really existed) is buried precisely where that box sits in the picture. Coincidence? Probably not. Since it doesn't go to the question of JFK's death, I'll not give a moment's more thought. Ciao.
  20. Mr. Cormier is a new member and apparently unfamiliar with certain facts that the rest of us have known for some time. If Mr. Cormier would care to search the forum, he will find that his ridiculous theory that the mob helped JFK win in Illinois has been thoroughly debunked. I have posted about Mr. Slattery on another thread. The nicest thing I can say about him is that his contributions so far reveal him to be an idiot. He is like a poor man's version of Tim Gratz, who was kicked off this forum for wasting everybody's time. It is obvious that, Like Tim Gratz, Mr. Slattery has not the slightest interest in seeking the truth about the JFK assassination. Time to loosen the tinfoil hat, Ray. Sorry to spoil your pro-conspiracy echo chamber, but I'm here to stay. The Education Indoctrination Forum is a cesspool of left-wing, agit-prop nonsense that badly requires some disinfectant. When I see multiple threads on the preceived sins of Joseph McCarthy, but nary a thread on Soviet communism--the most murderous system ever devised by man--I can safely say that I'm in nutsville. Nothing on the Khmer Rouge, but plenty on HUAC. Nothing on Islamofascism (you do realize we're at war?), but plenty on Watergate. Nothing on Chinese or Arab suppression of human rights and civil liberties, but plenty on Gitmo, MLK, and the NSA. In short, you're little more than America-hating vermin. Scratch a buff, find a lefty. Same as it ever was.
  21. Funny how the Dems never, you know, LOSE elections. They're always the victims of those dastardly, underhanded Republicans, this time masquerading as ordinary Ohio voters who didn't succumb to Corporal Kerry's bullxxxx.
