Andy Coulson cleared of perjury as trial collapses Former News of the World editor claims prosecution was a 'gross waste of public money' as legal proceedings come to dramatic end in Edinburgh http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11647910/Andy-Coulson-cleared-of-perjury-as-trial-collapses.html -
My resignation left me literally destitute. I lost not only my salary but my riight to a substantial government pension, and soon thereafter , my means of earning a living as a lawyer. Soon after I satisfied the ten-thousand dollar maximum fine imposed on me, the IRS contacted me and demanded a hundred and fifty thousand dollars in back taxes, interest and penalties. I said I had no money. They told my lawyer I should get it out of my "shoe box" - which of course did not exist, The IRS agents said, "If you don't pay this, we will go to court and lift your passport." As I was even then arranging to go overseas to try to develop some international business, I had to have that passport. I was desperate. So I called Frank Sinatra's lawyer, Mickey Rudin, of Beverley Hills, California, to see if he had any ideas that might let me keep my passport and gain some time. He said he would think about it. The next day, Mickey called me and said, "Frank thinks you should pay." "Well, dammit, Mickey," I said, "I don't have the money; I can't pay." "What is your bank and account number?" Mickey asked. "Frank has directed me to put two hundred thousand dollars in your account.". I couldn't believe my good fortune, or that anyone could be so considerate and generous. "That's wonderful," I exclaimed. "But where is the promissory note?" Mickey laughed and said "Don't insult the man. I wouldn't even dare ask him about that. He knows you will pay him back when you can. That's all he needs." The day after I resigned, Frank had sent me thirty thousand dollars to pay my ten-thousand dollar fine and my family expenses until I could find some way to make a living. As time went by, and my business improved through my numerous trips overseas, I earned an adequate income and paid back the last of the Sinatra loans in 1978. From the article: In a statement on Wednesday, the World Health Organization said that nearly 2,000 people had been killed in the fighting since March, including “hundreds of women and children.” Out of a population of 24 million, the organization said, some 8.6 million people “are in urgent need of medical help,” both for war-related injuries and for common medical conditions. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/28/world/middleeast/medical-need-climbs-alongside-death-toll-in-yemen.html?ref=world

Phone call between Charles Colson and Howard Hunt Nov. 1972
Douglas Caddy replied to Douglas Caddy's topic in Watergate
Thanks, Kathy. I had hoped by now to have finished writing the follow-up segment to my Watergate Memoir that I posted in the Forum last November. But I recently caught a "bug" that is between the flu and an ordinary cold and it delayed my writing. The follow-up segment, which is based on what Howard Hunt told me in 1975 just before he entered prison, contains information that is far outside of the mainstream thinking on both Watergate and the JFK assassination topics in the Forum. I must brace myself for the reaction to it. -
Phone call between Charles Colson and Howard Hunt Nov. 1972
Douglas Caddy replied to Douglas Caddy's topic in Watergate
This call occurred a short time after Nixon had won re-election in November 1972. Within a month afterward Dorothy Hunt was killed in a mysterious plane crash in Chicago. That changed everything. Hunt, a broken man, pleaded guilty the next month, January 1973, at the beginning of the first Watergate trial and in 1975 entered prison to serve over three years under a sentence handed down by Judge Sirica. The four Cuban-American burglars that Hunt had recruited also pleaded guilty. A few months later McCord, whom the jury found guilty at the first trial, wrote a letter to Judge Sirica that exposed the cover-up and hush money. From the beginning of the case, when Hunt visited me in my residence in the early morning hours of June 17, 1972, and told me what had just happened at Watergate, I never believed the affair would turn out well. I told a few closest friends of my fear. John Dean, the mastermind of the cover-up, misled President Nixon and those closest to him as to what was transpiring and thus gave them a false sense of security that everything would turn out fine. When it didn't, Dean was the first in line to protect himself and to implicate others at the expense of the President and the nation. Ultimately history will accurately record Dean's true role. -
OpEdNews Op Eds 3/29/2006 Is deception the best way to serve one's country? By Doug Thompson http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne_doug_tho_060330_is_deception_the_bes.htm From the article: "You know I was one of the ones who advised Kennedy to stay away from Texas," Connally said. "Lyndon (Johnson) was being a real a**hole about the whole thing and insisted." Connally's mood darkened as he talked about Dallas. When the bullet hit him, he said he felt like he had been kicked in the ribs and couldn't breathe. He spoke kindly of Jackie Kennedy and said he admired both her bravery and composure. I had to ask. Did he think Lee Harvey Oswald fired the gun that killed Kennedy? "Absolutely not," Connally said. "I do not, for one second, believe the conclusions of the Warren Commission."

After an initial folksy discourse, Baer's revelations and opinions are remarkable. Around minute 39 he characterizes the CIA essentially as being a killing machine and at the very end he states that U.S. Intelligence is out of control. At one point in the interim he declares that U.S. military and intelligence operations these days have become jaded and those in charge and those carrying out the attacks do not care who is killed by U.S. drones because there is never an investigation as to whether the targets merited being wiped out.
