Under Borghese the bank was involved with the son of Dominican Republic dictator Rafael Trujillo, with Franco's government in Spain, and reactionary circles in the Vatican and the Christian Democratic Party. Ultimately the bank collapsed, but someone covered for the inept Borghese.
