Betzner makes sudden appearance

Recommended Posts

Today I was looking for Hugh Betzner in the Z film. The first sharp clear frame

I could find him in was Z 161. Working backward through the frames I found

the best clear frame NOT showing him was 21 frames earlier...barely over one

second. In Z140 he is nowhere to be seen. How is it possible for him not being

in the frame to be there 21 frames later standing flatfooted with camera to his

eye? He had to get there in LESS THAN ONE SECOND. I say it is impossible.

If you disagree, please explain.

I say watch the film in slow motion and you'll find it very possible. (sigh~)

During the time of Betzner's sudden materialization, THE RUNNING ROSEMARY WILLIS

TAKES ONLY TWO STEPS. Her dad steps from the gutter back onto the curb. Halfback,

the yellow SS car, moves about 15 feet. Betzner came from nowhere in one tick of a

clock and is ready to take his photo. Ranks right up there with Greer's impossible head

turns.

Do you not think it likely he just stepped out from behind some people Jack?

No. The Dorman film shows him about 50 feet south on Houston. Then as he

goes northward, he pauses to shoot the limo turning the corner, with the Towners

in the foreground. Then he goes to the corner and shoots his famous shot.

Study of the 21 frames I mention shows that he moves FROM OUT OF FRAME

TO STANDING ON THE ELM CURB IN ABOUT ONE SECOND. Out of frame is

at least twenty feet. How can he move twenty feet in one second? In the same

frames a RUNNING Rosemary Willis takes TWO STEPS. Check it out.

Betzner first appears in frame 142, morphing from a headless black blob with legs.

Interesting Jack. Perhaps more evidence of frames removed or other changes. In your photo of the man you were looking for I noticed the Freeway sign and it struck me it seemed to have a different proportion [height to width] than it seemed to from the backside as seen in the Z film. As some suspect the Z film was tampered with and the sign seen in it may be an artifact to hide a shot or something other...was just wondering. Didn't mean to change the topic. I find Betzner's teleporting [beam me down Scotty] strange.

Peter...after studying the frames for more than an hour, I find that Betzner suddenly appears in

frame 142, after morphing from a headless black blob. I had assumed that he should be seen

traveling in the background, but he is simply not there and then suddenly appears.

The reason I was looking for Betzner is that I was searching for the man at the

left side of his photo.

Jack

Good Point Jack,

The man in the Betzner photo seems to try and block Betzner's view when you view the frames 177-193 of the Zapruder film. IMO, this is another government agent that was in Dealy Plaza on 11/22/63.

Mr. White, Do you have a hi-res image of the Hugh Betzner image?  If not, do you know where I can obtain one?

Ron,

Thank you.  unfortunately there is no hi-res picture of the Hugh Betzner photo there.  I can see what looks like two faces in the two lower windows of the left side of the pergola in this image. https://www.jfkassassinationgallery.com/displayimage.php?pid=12617&fullsize=1

Wish I had a better quality photo.
