John Simkin
The Education Forum costs about USD$1500 (900 pounds) per year to run. The current account expires at the end of July 2014 and we do not intend to renew it. If anyone is interested in taking over the Forum I suggest you contact Andy Walker. James R Gordon
Are there any members who would be interested in grouping together in both sharing the cost as well as administrating the site? It would be a real pity to see this site go.
B. A. Copeland
So will all the topics & posts vanish? All the valuable research and exchange of words with very good researchers disappear? I hope not.....
John Dolva
All good things come to an end. Thank you, John and Andy, (and members) for a great time. I'd be willing to contribute a sum a year. I have no interest in organising or administrating.
Ken Pierce
It will be like losing an old friend. Like John, I'd be willing to contribute, but, not administer.
Al Fordiani
I, too, would be willing to make a donation to keep this valuable archive open and available.
Mark Knight
Could the site be set up to run off member donations and ad revenue? While $1500 a year might be a considerable sum for one or two persons to bear, when divided by a couple hundred members the individual costs would seem QUITE bearable. Paul Brancato
I think that for JFK and RFK it makes more sense to join Greg Burnam's site - AssassinationOfJFK.net
Paul Brancato
Mr. Simkin's website is so much more than a JFK site, which makes its closing very unfortunate.
Douglas Caddy
http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/ What will close at the end of July? The JFK Assassination Topic or all the components of the Education Forum as shown above?
Greg Burnham
I think that for JFK and RFK it makes more sense to join Greg Burnam's site - AssassinationOfJFK.net Thank Paul. Quite a few EF members have already joined and more are on their way.
Dawn Meredith
I have been here since 04. It will be like losing an old friend. I met so many terrific people here. Don Jeffries
This is a real shame- the Education Forum has been an invaluable resource for everyone interested in the JFK assassination and related issues. I would also be willing to contribute something to keep the forum afloat- if enough of us do this, the cost would be minimal individually. I hope John addresses this possibility, and also clarifies whether just the assassination forum is being shut down, or the entire Education Forum.
