It is a great shame on America.

I've been drawn to watching WW II docs on you tube the last two years and specifically the Holocaust.

Hitler's evil genocide against millions of Jews and maybe a million or two of other groups was going on for so many years.

I feel the deepest outrage not only regards the "Final Solution" but the fact that it went on for so long without the worldwide condemnation ( US #1 ) and even aggressive savior action it deserved.

Could we here in the U.S. done so much more in this regards? Did we actually turn away an ocean liner full of Jewish refugees at some point? Dear God...how gut sickening shameful!

Obviously our ruling wealthy class considered Communism more of a threat to their status quo than Nazism. I sense they were hoping the Germans could take out Russia and erase that threat.

Oh the great atrocities back then. The rape and killing of millions by the ruthless Japanese. Stalin's mass killing of 20+ killing and torturing of his own people.

Letting any poopoo war criminals go when they could have executed them was a deal with the devil that we must answer for.

Yes, I knew about Paperclip. I think that operation was defensible, but not suppressing Holocaust evidence and protecting SS men who had directly helped kill Jews.

Imagine, over lunch with Dr., Emeritus, U C Berkley, P. D. Scott tells you . . .

In early 1963 as a young newer professor as a result of prior experience as a Canadian Diplomat I was invited to a dinner at the Hoover Institute, a conservative affair at which Allen Dulles was the speaker.  I was appalled (?) at the words denouncing the president.  Then a cleric from Eastern Europe rose and said, silence.  "The old man will take care of it".

Dr. Scott thought of Joe Kennedy Sr. initially.  David noted he had a stroke by then, in a wheelchair, unable to communicate effectively.  The old man was Dulles, still in control of his loyal former employees from home or at the Farm.       

This was an important reveal for me.  PDS hearing the Eastern Europe cleric tell the others assembled the old man will take care of it, in early 1963.

Not mentioned in the podcast but in Chessboard itself I found most revealing about Dulles these bits.

One.  How he liked watching mouse traps.  Watching the mouse looking around sniffing the cheese, waiting for the look in its eye as it hears the trap release then its neck is snapped.

Two.  Sitting on the beach watching his sister drowning, doing nothing, as I believe his brother raced by to save her.

Three.  Turning over the young lady he was dating, while married, during WWII.  I think while he was in Switzerland, Dealing with the Nassis, selling them oil, IBM, lending money, ignoring the Holocaust.  From memory, she mentioned something suspicious about his dealings, they went for a walk, met two friends of his, they escorted her away.  She was never heard from again.
