I have always thought, perhaps naively, that a bullet blowing out the back of the head would be gone out the back of the head. I never would have dreamed the bullet could have stayed close to where it entered the head.

A bullet "lodged behind the President's ear" could also come from an EOP wound. We already entertain the possibility of a shallow back wound, why not a shallow EOP wound?

I thought Joseph McBride, in his post on the Belmont memo, was arguing that the bullet lodged behind the right ear may have been the one fired by Badge Man and which blew out the back of the head. That's what I don't understand, but maybe I read it wrong.

I'm (a bit) surprised that you never heard of this before. But, as the saying goes,  "better late than never".   FWIW: I pursued this matter, in detail, many years ago, and prior to the publication of B. E. (Jan 1981). But I was unable to include any of what I knew in B.E.

Please send me your email address (I may be able to tell you more).  Its a very important issue, but, IMHO:the poster's interpretation  is seriously incorrect.

Who actually wrote the report of a "bronze-colored plastic casket"? There's no name signed on the page in question, just a squiggle I can't make out. People seem to think it's from Dr. Kemp Clark, perhaps in the wrong order of pages. As Harold Weisberg explained in some of his personal notes, "...There is also a typed document (report 516-8), not in Clark's "own hand" about which there is some mystery. It is, in fact, not dated. It is signed. The third page is numbered 2 and the second page which appears to be the first is numbered 1. The first page is not complete and is less than a half page in length with the word "Statement" written in a neat hand in the upper right. The rest of the sheet has been out off and the reproduction shows only the part of the page with the typing. It seems to be in a different typing than the other two pages. It is this part which begins with the statement that the President arrived at exactly 12:43 p.m.. The second page has a heading, "Summary". This also is one of the cases the time of 12:43 wasn't changed to 12:38, important if the tenuous Oswald time reconstruction isn't to be destroyed. Elsewhere (     ) it is indicated that this cut-off sheet of typing was a letter addressed to the President's doctor".

The Archive.org version of Weisberg's archive has more files than jfk.hood.edu! I don't know what else is different, but it's different.
