With regard to your mention of the CIA locking horns with JFK, Nixon, Carter and Trump: I definitely agree. What I think is particularly interesting is that many of the CIA operatives that took down Carter with the October Surprise (payoff not to release the hostages before the election) were actually ex-CIA at the time because Carter had done some housecleaning and banished the worst of them as he had promised he would prior to the 76 election, and then they all came flooding back in with Reagan. I saw something in the independent media some time ago indicating that something similar happened with a good number of people who were in the Obama State Department, that they worked against the Trump administration abroad, and then came back in with Biden in 2020, but I can't remember the precise details or where I saw it at the moment. I'll have to look for it.

And you had also mentioned Nixon communicating outside of official channels, and pissing off the Joint Chiefs, which I recognized from Jim Hougan's books. So yes, I am familiar with that as well...

RE: THE S-FORCE

In 1960, once VP Richard Nixon came to believe he was going to win the presidential election and decided to send a hit squad after Castro, he called upon Howard Hughes on whose behalf Robert Mayheu contacted Johnny Roselli who contacted Santo Trafficante (because Trafficante was the Don over Cuba). Trafficante insisted upon proof that VP Nixon was authorizing it, so Nixon sent the CIA Chief of Security to a meeting with Trafficante and Roselli to confirm. They then assembled a 15-man team made up of anti-Castro Cuban mercenaries, Italian organized crime assassins (who had worked for Trafficante in Cuba), CIA operatives and special forces operators. This "S-Force" was funded by a skim off Las Vegas casinos, and was trained on U.S. military bases and Clint Murchison's ranch in Mexico to conduct triangulated crossfire ambush assassinations, and they were deployed to conduct such an operation against the President of the United States during the weekend of November 22, 1963.

This information is primarily derived from what attorney Daniel Sheehan has divulged about the attorney/client privileged communications between James McCord and Santo Trafficante and F. Lee Bailey while Bailey was representing them on CIA retainer during the period of the Watergate Hearings.

I have some additional information for you on the same topic. The first comes at it from the perspective of Richard Nixon's secrets, and basically corroborates the other accounts set forth above:

"...When Nixon was vice president, he and then CIA agent Hunt were principal secret planners of the invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs that failed so miserably when later ordered by President Kennedy. Nixon and Hunt were key leaders of an associated— and also ill- fated—plot to assassinate Castro. For that mission, potential assassins were recruited from Mob ranks, so that if any of their activities were disclosed, organized crime could be blamed.

Helms as then director of the CIA’s covert operations was a key participant in the Castro assassination plots. The plotters also enlisted the support of billionaire Howard Hughes. Like Nixon, Hughes despised the Kennedys and had strong links to both the CIA and the Mob. The mysterious and reclusive Hughes had made large, secret payoff s to Nixon and his brother Donald over most of Nixon’s political career.

Fronting for Hughes, Robert Maheu approached mobsters Johnny Roselli, Sam “Mooney” Giancana and Santos Trafficante. One report says fifteen professional killers ultimately made up the “ultra- black” Castro assassination team, consistent with a typical Mafia hit, as summarized by author David Scheim: “A mob murder is usually a methodical job, performed by a coordinated team of specialists. Up to 15 gunmen, drivers, spotters, and other backup personnel, plus several cars, are used on some jobs.”

Maheu, a former FBI agent employed by both the CIA and Hughes, had many links with Nixon. To mention just two: In 1956, Maheu ran a Howard Hughes–bankrolled spying operation to protect Nixon against Republican “Dump Nixon” forces trying to block Nixon’s renomination as Dwight Eisenhower’s vice president. Also while Nixon was veep, Maheu worked for Nixon on a “dirty tricks” operation against Greek oil tycoon Aristotle Onassis.

Maheu helped the U.S. government sabotage a deal that had given Onassis a monopoly on shipping Saudi Arabian oil. As part of his mission, Maheu was reportedly even given a license—if necessary—to kill the Greek tycoon. After a meeting with Maheu about Onassis, Vice President Nixon shook Maheu’s hand and whispered, “And just remember, if it turns out we have to kill the bastard don’t do it on American soil.”

President Kennedy’s former press secretary, Pierre Salinger, said Maheu told him the CIA-Mafia plots against Castro were authorized by Nixon:

"I knew Maheu well. He told me [in 1968, when Salinger was soliciting Maheu’s boss, Howard Hughes, for a campaign contribution to Robert Kennedy’s White House bid] about his meetings with the Mafia. He said he had been in contact with the CIA, that the CIA had been in touch with Nixon, who had asked them to go forward with this project . . . It was Nixon who had him [Maheu] do a deal with the Mafia in Florida to kill Castro."

Nixon White House counsel John Dean confirms that Maheu was “the point of contact for the CIA’s effort to have the Mafi a assassinate Fidel Castro in the early 1960s.” Dean said he was told by fellow Nixon aide Jack Caufield that the Hughes empire “was embroiled in an internal war, with two billion dollars at stake, private eyes swarming, nerve- jangling power plays going on, and Mafia figures lurking in the wings.”

Longtime Mob lawyer Frank Ragano disclosed in the 1990s that the assassination plot against Castro was hatched in the summer of 1960. He reported that “Maheu’s search for mob killers began with John Roselli who brought in Sam Giancana, the Chicago boss, and Santo [Trafficante] . . . The CIA operatives told Maheu he could offer $150,000 to the assassins, and that Castro’s murder was a phase of a larger plan to invade Cuba and oust the Communist government.” Ragano also claimed he was the unwitting messenger in a July 1963 order from Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa to Trafficante and Marcello for President Kennedy’s murder.

Sam Giancana confided to his brother, Chuck, in 1966, that the CIA had offered him $150,000 to hit Castro. “I told ’em I couldn’t care less about the money. We’ll take care of Castro. One way or another. I think it’s my patriotic duty.”

Giancana said CIA Director Allen Dulles had come up with the idea, and that two top CIA officials— Richard Bissell and Sheffield Edwards—were chosen to make the arrangements. And he said the agency made contact with him through Maheu. Giancana designated Roselli as the plan’s Mafi a-CIA go-between.

Of that conversation with his brother, Chuck also mentioned a number of other conspirators in the plot on Castro’s life: “Mooney said he put Jack Ruby back in action supplying arms, aircraft , and munitions to exiles in Florida and Louisiana, while the former Castro Minister of Games, Frank Fiorini [also known as Frank Sturgis], joined Ruby in the smuggling venture along with a [Guy] Banister CIA associate, David Ferrie.”..."

More recently, an intriguing coincidence occurred before the February 2024 podcast interview with Felix Rodriguez that is posted below. The interviewer, Danny Jones, was speaking with constitutional law professor and lawyer Danny Sheehan, who was discussing the S-Force - the paramilitary unit involved in JFK's assassination - and mentioned "Operation 40." This led Danny Jones to inquire, "Do you know who Felix Rodriguez is?" Sheehan responded, "Felix Rodriguez was a shooter; he was one of the individuals involved in the President's assassination." Surprised, Danny Jones mentioned that he was set to interview Felix Rodriguez the next day. Sheehan then spent the next 45 minutes recounting the S-Force story and advising Danny Jones on how to conduct the upcoming interview with Rodriguez to potentially elicit new information.

During the final half-hour of the Felix Rodriguez interview, Danny Jones attempted to ask questions aimed at uncovering Rodriguez's cover stories, but without success. Rodriguez's cover stories, however, revealed some information. When questioned about the JFK assassination, Rodriguez stuck to the standard CIA narrative implicating Fidel Castro as the mastermind behind the event. He even suggested that Castro's intelligence chief, Fabian Escalante, was the one who pulled the trigger. This is intriguing as a retaliation ploy by Rodriguez, given that Escalante on numerous occasions fingered Rodriguez as a potential participant in the assassination in his books and interviews.

 

Felix Rodriguez also denied other unpopular personal achievements of his, such as his participation as a CIA interrogator in the the 1985 death of DEA Agent Kiki Camerena, and although he did admit his involvement in the assassination of Che Guevara, he tried very hard to minimize the brutality involved in the affair.

Felix Ismael Fernando José Rodriguez Mendigutia, aka "Max Gomez," is most famous for the torture and murder of the revolutionary Che Guevara and chopping off his hands in Bolivia. What is less known is that he was one of the CIA's most evil and was deeply involved in the Cuban mafia, death squads in Southeast Asia and Central America, and the CIA's international drug operations.  

Rodríguez was born into a wealthy plantation owning family in Cuba in 1941 and fled the country for the U.S. after Castro seized control in 1959. He was recruited out of college in Pennsylvania into the CIA in 1960 for Operation 40, which was intended to remove Castro from power in league with former Havana godfather Santos Trafficante. The effort to oust Castro failed in the Bay of Pigs fiasco but Rodriguez continued to carry out terrorist, torture and murder operations in Cuba and other countries.

In 1970 he joined the CIA's Air America trafficking heroin from Laos to the U.S. drugs network of Trafficante. The purpose of the smuggling was to gain the support of Laotian drug lords by buying their product, enrich the Cuban mafia and fund illegal CIA black operations.

In Vietnam, Rodriguez honed his torture and murder skills in Operation Phoenix, in which more than 10,000 Vietnamese civilians were brutally tortured to death for little or no reason except to satisfy some sort of satanic blood-lust.

Rodriguez would apply his death squad skills in Central America in the late 1970s up into the 1980s where more than 200,000 innocent civilians were abducted, tortured and killed because they were easy targets or might oppose the right-wing narco-dictators the CIA had put into power.

In the 1980s the CIA got heavily into cocaine and Rodriguez was front and center. High ranking retired DEA officials blame the CIA and Rodriguez for the 1985 kidnapping, torture and assassination of Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, a senior DEA agent with major busts in Mexico of CIA related traffickers. Kiki was tortured for 30 hours, according to the CIA's audio recordings of their crime. Camarena wasn't the only American that Rodriguez abducted, tortured and murdered.

Rodriguez worked closely with the Bush crime family and ran George Bush Sr.'s operation to arm the Nicaraguan contra terrorists for the Reagan regime while smuggling massive amounts of coca paste into Costa Rica where it was refined into pure cocaine and crack at the ranch of CIA operative John Hull and then flown to the airport at Mena, Arkansas under the protection of then Governor Bill Clinton and into U.S. military bases.

By the late 1980s Rodriguez mostly retired and published his autobiography, Shadow Warrior: The CIA Hero of a Hundred Unknown Battles in 1989. He continues to be active in Cuban exile groups such as Brigade 2506 and other Cuban mafia terror groups that continue to attack Cuba.  

Despite his long bloody career of crimes against humanity, Rodriguez has never faced any measure of justice and continues to be celebrated by America's most disgustingly evil sociopaths and psychopaths. Instead of being awarded the Floridiot's medal of freedom by a fellow Cuban mafia thug, Rodriguez should have faced justice long ago.

What the rabidly right-wing can't seem to understand is that the more they terrorize those who merely seek a better life for themselves and their families, the more they will resist. Had the CIA and Cuban mafia not turned on Castro and continued to terrorize Cuba, Castro would have likely been replaced long ago and Cuba would have become a democracy. The only reason that Cubans continue to cling to their failed revolution is the unending threat from the U.S. and its geriatric but vicious Cuban mafia.

This information is primarily derived from what attorney Daniel Sheehan has divulged about the attorney/client privileged communications between James McCord and Santo Trafficante and F. Lee Bailey while Bailey was representing them on CIA retainer during the period of the Watergate Hearings.

I have some additional information for you on the same topic. The first comes at it from the perspective of Richard Nixon's secrets, and basically corroborates the other accounts set forth above:

"...When Nixon was vice president, he and then CIA agent Hunt were principal secret planners of the invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs that failed so miserably when later ordered by President Kennedy. Nixon and Hunt were key leaders of an associated— and also ill- fated—plot to assassinate Castro. For that mission, potential assassins were recruited from Mob ranks, so that if any of their activities were disclosed, organized crime could be blamed.

Helms as then director of the CIA’s covert operations was a key participant in the Castro assassination plots. The plotters also enlisted the support of billionaire Howard Hughes. Like Nixon, Hughes despised the Kennedys and had strong links to both the CIA and the Mob. The mysterious and reclusive Hughes had made large, secret payoff s to Nixon and his brother Donald over most of Nixon’s political career.

Fronting for Hughes, Robert Maheu approached mobsters Johnny Roselli, Sam “Mooney” Giancana and Santos Trafficante. One report says fifteen professional killers ultimately made up the “ultra- black” Castro assassination team, consistent with a typical Mafia hit, as summarized by author David Scheim: “A mob murder is usually a methodical job, performed by a coordinated team of specialists. Up to 15 gunmen, drivers, spotters, and other backup personnel, plus several cars, are used on some jobs.”

Maheu, a former FBI agent employed by both the CIA and Hughes, had many links with Nixon. To mention just two: In 1956, Maheu ran a Howard Hughes–bankrolled spying operation to protect Nixon against Republican “Dump Nixon” forces trying to block Nixon’s renomination as Dwight Eisenhower’s vice president. Also while Nixon was veep, Maheu worked for Nixon on a “dirty tricks” operation against Greek oil tycoon Aristotle Onassis.

Maheu helped the U.S. government sabotage a deal that had given Onassis a monopoly on shipping Saudi Arabian oil. As part of his mission, Maheu was reportedly even given a license—if necessary—to kill the Greek tycoon. After a meeting with Maheu about Onassis, Vice President Nixon shook Maheu’s hand and whispered, “And just remember, if it turns out we have to kill the bastard don’t do it on American soil.”

President Kennedy’s former press secretary, Pierre Salinger, said Maheu told him the CIA-Mafia plots against Castro were authorized by Nixon:

"I knew Maheu well. He told me [in 1968, when Salinger was soliciting Maheu’s boss, Howard Hughes, for a campaign contribution to Robert Kennedy’s White House bid] about his meetings with the Mafia. He said he had been in contact with the CIA, that the CIA had been in touch with Nixon, who had asked them to go forward with this project . . . It was Nixon who had him [Maheu] do a deal with the Mafia in Florida to kill Castro."

Nixon White House counsel John Dean confirms that Maheu was “the point of contact for the CIA’s effort to have the Mafi a assassinate Fidel Castro in the early 1960s.” Dean said he was told by fellow Nixon aide Jack Caufield that the Hughes empire “was embroiled in an internal war, with two billion dollars at stake, private eyes swarming, nerve- jangling power plays going on, and Mafia figures lurking in the wings.”

Longtime Mob lawyer Frank Ragano disclosed in the 1990s that the assassination plot against Castro was hatched in the summer of 1960. He reported that “Maheu’s search for mob killers began with John Roselli who brought in Sam Giancana, the Chicago boss, and Santo [Trafficante] . . . The CIA operatives told Maheu he could offer $150,000 to the assassins, and that Castro’s murder was a phase of a larger plan to invade Cuba and oust the Communist government.” Ragano also claimed he was the unwitting messenger in a July 1963 order from Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa to Trafficante and Marcello for President Kennedy’s murder.

Sam Giancana confided to his brother, Chuck, in 1966, that the CIA had offered him $150,000 to hit Castro. “I told ’em I couldn’t care less about the money. We’ll take care of Castro. One way or another. I think it’s my patriotic duty.”

Giancana said CIA Director Allen Dulles had come up with the idea, and that two top CIA officials— Richard Bissell and Sheffield Edwards—were chosen to make the arrangements. And he said the agency made contact with him through Maheu. Giancana designated Roselli as the plan’s Mafi a-CIA go-between.

Of that conversation with his brother, Chuck also mentioned a number of other conspirators in the plot on Castro’s life: “Mooney said he put Jack Ruby back in action supplying arms, aircraft , and munitions to exiles in Florida and Louisiana, while the former Castro Minister of Games, Frank Fiorini [also known as Frank Sturgis], joined Ruby in the smuggling venture along with a [Guy] Banister CIA associate, David Ferrie.”..."

More recently, an intriguing coincidence occurred before the February 2024 podcast interview with Felix Rodriguez that is posted below. The interviewer, Danny Jones, was speaking with constitutional law professor and lawyer Danny Sheehan, who was discussing the S-Force - the paramilitary unit involved in JFK's assassination - and mentioned "Operation 40." This led Danny Jones to inquire, "Do you know who Felix Rodriguez is?" Sheehan responded, "Felix Rodriguez was a shooter; he was one of the individuals involved in the President's assassination." Surprised, Danny Jones mentioned that he was set to interview Felix Rodriguez the next day. Sheehan then spent the next 45 minutes recounting the S-Force story and advising Danny Jones on how to conduct the upcoming interview with Rodriguez to potentially elicit new information.

During the final half-hour of the Felix Rodriguez interview, Danny Jones attempted to ask questions aimed at uncovering Rodriguez's cover stories, but without success. Rodriguez's cover stories, however, revealed some information. When questioned about the JFK assassination, Rodriguez stuck to the standard CIA narrative implicating Fidel Castro as the mastermind behind the event. He even suggested that Castro's intelligence chief, Fabian Escalante, was the one who pulled the trigger. This is intriguing as a retaliation ploy by Rodriguez, given that Escalante on numerous occasions fingered Rodriguez as a potential participant in the assassination in his books and interviews.

 

Felix Rodriguez also denied other unpopular personal achievements of his, such as his participation as a CIA interrogator in the the 1985 death of DEA Agent Kiki Camerena, and although he did admit his involvement in the assassination of Che Guevara, he tried very hard to minimize the brutality involved in the affair.

Felix Ismael Fernando José Rodriguez Mendigutia, aka "Max Gomez," is most famous for the torture and murder of the revolutionary Che Guevara and chopping off his hands in Bolivia. What is less known is that he was one of the CIA's most evil and was deeply involved in the Cuban mafia, death squads in Southeast Asia and Central America, and the CIA's international drug operations.  

Rodríguez was born into a wealthy plantation owning family in Cuba in 1941 and fled the country for the U.S. after Castro seized control in 1959. He was recruited out of college in Pennsylvania into the CIA in 1960 for Operation 40, which was intended to remove Castro from power in league with former Havana godfather Santos Trafficante. The effort to oust Castro failed in the Bay of Pigs fiasco but Rodriguez continued to carry out terrorist, torture and murder operations in Cuba and other countries.

In 1970 he joined the CIA's Air America trafficking heroin from Laos to the U.S. drugs network of Trafficante. The purpose of the smuggling was to gain the support of Laotian drug lords by buying their product, enrich the Cuban mafia and fund illegal CIA black operations.

In Vietnam, Rodriguez honed his torture and murder skills in Operation Phoenix, in which more than 10,000 Vietnamese civilians were brutally tortured to death for little or no reason except to satisfy some sort of satanic blood-lust.

Rodriguez would apply his death squad skills in Central America in the late 1970s up into the 1980s where more than 200,000 innocent civilians were abducted, tortured and killed because they were easy targets or might oppose the right-wing narco-dictators the CIA had put into power.

In the 1980s the CIA got heavily into cocaine and Rodriguez was front and center. High ranking retired DEA officials blame the CIA and Rodriguez for the 1985 kidnapping, torture and assassination of Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, a senior DEA agent with major busts in Mexico of CIA related traffickers. Kiki was tortured for 30 hours, according to the CIA's audio recordings of their crime. Camarena wasn't the only American that Rodriguez abducted, tortured and murdered.

Rodriguez worked closely with the Bush crime family and ran George Bush Sr.'s operation to arm the Nicaraguan contra terrorists for the Reagan regime while smuggling massive amounts of coca paste into Costa Rica where it was refined into pure cocaine and crack at the ranch of CIA operative John Hull and then flown to the airport at Mena, Arkansas under the protection of then Governor Bill Clinton and into U.S. military bases.

By the late 1980s Rodriguez mostly retired and published his autobiography, Shadow Warrior: The CIA Hero of a Hundred Unknown Battles in 1989. He continues to be active in Cuban exile groups such as Brigade 2506 and other Cuban mafia terror groups that continue to attack Cuba.  

Despite his long bloody career of crimes against humanity, Rodriguez has never faced any measure of justice and continues to be celebrated by America's most disgustingly evil sociopaths and psychopaths. Instead of being awarded the Floridiot's medal of freedom by a fellow Cuban mafia thug, Rodriguez should have faced justice long ago.

What the rabidly right-wing can't seem to understand is that the more they terrorize those who merely seek a better life for themselves and their families, the more they will resist. Had the CIA and Cuban mafia not turned on Castro and continued to terrorize Cuba, Castro would have likely been replaced long ago and Cuba would have become a democracy. The only reason that Cubans continue to cling to their failed revolution is the unending threat from the U.S. and its geriatric but vicious Cuban mafia.

 

Well, a lot to absorb here. I will get back to you. 

I will say this: When Nixon demanded to see the CIA BoP files, he was blocked. A sitting US president is entitled to see every file in the Us government. 

Later a CIA team (including Hunt and McCord and the aforementioned Eugenio Martinez) gets arrested at Watergate and Nixon gets the blame. Nixon out...Agnew out...and WC'er Ford becomes the unelected US President. 

Strange story. 

For me, it is certainly possible CIA mercs and Cuban exiles did the JFKA. They somehow hoodwinked LHO into unwitting cooperation. 

Were they lone rangers or directed from on high? 

The crazy thing is, you can connect the dots to almost anyone...mobsters, Nixon, LBJ, CIA-Miami Station. Even the Mormon mafia. I wonder how much info has been planted.

     I hate to interrupt this rather touching, romantic spam-fest between Kevin Hofeling and Ben Cole, but I notice that Kevin has continued to highjack his own the thread about Trump and the Deep State, which originated with posts about the JFK Records and Kevin's erroneous thesis that Trump, like JFK, has been an heroic adversary and victim of the Deep State.

     In the process, both Kevin and Ben have also doubled down on the false, ubiquitous Trumpaganda trope in the MAGA media (since 2019) claiming that "Russiagate is a hoax."  This false trope about "the Russiagate hoax" was relentlessly amplified by Rupert Murdoch's propaganda empire, (Fox, NY Post, et.al.) and by Putin's propaganda affiliates in the U.S., after Bill Barr halted Mueller's investigation and misrepresented Mueller's findings-- while blocking Congressional and public access to the unredacted Report.

     Kevin and Ben have also, happily, discovered CIA Operation Mockingbird-- with help from Tucker Carlson-- and are now endeavoring to educate us about the CIA's alleged use of Mockingbird to victimize Trump, their heroic adversary of the Deep State.

     The problem is that this thesis is nonsense.

     The other problem is that Kevin and Ben, like other denizens of the MAGA-verse, have completely overlooked the reality of MAGA-verse propaganda in the U.S. media; especially the media empires of Trump's Ministers of Propaganda-- viz., Rupert Murdoch, Robert Mercer, et.al.-- and the nexus between Trump's MAGA propagandists and Putin's cyber warfare ops in the U.S. since 2015.

      Here's the big picture that Kevin and Ben are missing-- in relation to their erroneous thesis about Trump and the Deep State.  Trump isn't a victim of the Deep State.

      He's a compromised Russian asset.

PROMOTING A CULTURE WAR: HOW PUTIN USED TRUMP TO SEIZE ALMOST TOTAL CONTROL OVER THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

There is little doubt that Russian President Vladimir Putin has succeeded in achieving near-total control over the Republican Party.

They are gutting aid to Ukraine (and have been for over a year), working to kneecap our economy, whipping up hatred among Americans against each other, promoting civil war, and openly embracing replacing American democracy with authoritarian autocracy.

Putin has declared war on queer people, proclaimed Russia a “Christian nation,” and shut down all the media he called “fake news.” Check, check, check.

Most recently, the three-year “Biden bribery” hysteria Republicans in the House have been running — including thousands of hits on Fox “News” and all over rightwing hate radio — turns out to have been a Russian intelligence operation originally designed to help Trump win the 2020 election. The Russian spy who had been feeding this phony info to Jordan and James Comer is now in jail.

Over the past two years, as America was using Russia’s terrorist attacks on Ukraine to degrade the power and influence of Russia’s military, Putin was using social media, Republican politicians, and rightwing American commentators to get Republican politicians on his side and thus kill off U.S. aid to Ukraine.

The war in Gaza is making it even easier, with Putin-aligned politicians like Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) tweeting: “Any funding for Ukraine should be redirected to Israel immediately.”

Russia’s battlefield, in other words, has now shifted from Ukraine to the U.S. political system and our homes via radio, TV, and the internet, all in the hopes of ending U.S. aid to the democracy they have brutally attacked.

And the momentum is following that shift: Russia is close to having the upper hand in Ukraine because of Putin’s ability — via Trump and Johnson — to get Republican politicians to mouth his talking points and propaganda.

Now, with Speaker “Moscow Mike” Johnson shutting down the House of Representatives so nobody can offer a discharge petition that would force a vote on Ukraine aid (and aid for Palestinian refugees, Taiwan, and our southern border), it is becoming more and more clear that Vladimir Putin is running the Republican party via his well-paid stooge, Donald Trump.

I say “well paid” because Donald Trump would have been reduced to homelessness in the early 1990s if it were not for Russian money, as both of his sons have said at different times. He had burned through all of his father’s estate, even stealing a large part of it from his siblings. He’d lost or hidden almost two billion dollars running a casino.

As Michael Hirsch noted for Foreign Policy magazine:

“By the early 1990s he had burned through his portion of his father Fred’s fortune with a series of reckless business decisions. Two of his businesses had declared bankruptcy, the Trump Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City and the Plaza Hotel in New York, and the money pit that was the Trump Shuttle went out of business in 1992. Trump companies would ultimately declare Chapter 11 bankruptcy two more times.”

He had been forced to repeatedly declare bankruptcy — sticking American banks for over a billion dollars in unpaid bills — after draining his businesses of free cash and stashing the money in places he hoped nobody would ever find.

No American bank would touch him, and property developers in New York were waiting for his entire little empire to collapse. Instead, a desperate Trump reached out to foreign dictators and mobsters, who were more than happy to supply funds to an influential New York businessman…for a price to be paid in the future.

He sold over $100 million worth of condos to more than sixty Russian citizens during that era, and partnered with professional criminals and money launderers to raise money for Trump properties in Azerbaijan and Panama. According to Trump himself, he sold $40 to $50 million worth of apartments to the Saudis.

He then partnered with a former high Soviet official, Tevfik Arif, and a Russian businessman, Felix Sater, who had been found guilty of running a “huge stock-fraud scheme involving the Russian mafia.”

As the founders of Fusion GPS wrote for The New York Times in 2018:

“The Trump family’s business entanglements are of more than historical significance. Americans need to be sure that major foreign policy decisions are made in the national interest — not because of foreign ties forged by the president’s business ventures.”

Thus, when it came time to run for president, Trump had to pay the price. He and the people around him were inundated with offers of “help” from Russians, most associated directly with Putin or the Russian mafia.

Trump’s campaign manager, Paul Manafort, had been paid millions by Putin’s oligarchs and ran Trump’s campaign for free. Reporters found over a dozen connections between Russia and the Trump campaign, and during the 2016 campaign Trump was secretly negotiating a deal to open a Trump tower in Moscow. Trump’s son and his lawyer met with Putin’s agents in Trump Tower.

Putin’s personal xxxxx army, the Internet Research Agency (IRA) based out of St. Petersburg but operating worldwide, began a major campaign in 2016 to get Trump elected president.

Manafort fed Russian intelligence raw data from internal Republican polling that identified a few hundred thousand individuals in a half-dozen or so swing states the GOP thought could be persuaded to vote for Trump (or against Hillary), and the IRA immediately went to work, reaching out to them via mostly Facebook.

Mueller’s report and multiple journalistic investigations have noted that the most common message out of Russia then was directed at Democratic-leaning voters and was, essentially, “both parties are the same so it’s a waste of time to vote.”

A report from Texas-based cybersecurity company New Knowledge, working with researchers at Columbia University, concluded, as reported by The New York Times:

“‘The most prolific I.R.A. efforts on Facebook and Instagram specifically targeted black American communities and appear to have been focused on developing black audiences and recruiting black Americans as assets,’ the report said. Using Gmail accounts with American-sounding names, the Russians recruited and sometimes paid unwitting American activists of all races to stage rallies and spread content, but there was a disproportionate pursuit of African-Americans, it concludes.

“The report said that while ‘other distinct ethnic and religious groups were the focus of one or two Facebook Pages or Instagram accounts, the black community was targeted extensively by dozens.’ In some cases, Facebook ads were targeted at users who had shown interest in particular topics, including black history, the Black Panther Party and Malcolm X. The most popular of the Russian Instagram accounts was @blackstagram, with 303,663 followers.

“The Internet Research Agency also created a dozen websites disguised as African-American in origin, with names like blackmattersus.com, blacktivist.info, blacktolive.org and blacksoul.us.”

And it appears to have worked in suppressing the potential Black Democratic vote in swing states.

A 2018 bipartisan Senate report found the Russian efforts consequential, as the BBC headline on that analysis summarizes:

“Russian trolls’ chief target was ‘black U.S. voters’ in 2016.”

The news story summarizes:

“A Senate inquiry has concluded that a Russian fake-news campaign targeted ‘no single group… more than African-Americans.’ …

“Thousands of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and You Tube accounts created by the St. Petersburg-based Internet Research Agency (IRA) were aimed at harming Hillary Clinton’s campaign and supporting Donald Trump, the committee concludes.

“More than 66% of Facebook adverts posted by the Russian xxxxx farm contained a term related to race.

“African-American community voters were discouraged from voting, and from supporting Hillary Clinton.”

Between the information compiled by Oxford Analytica and the details passed along from the GOP to Prigozhin via Manafort, a mere margin of 43,000 votes across a handful of swing states —all microtargeted by Russia — handed the electoral college to Trump, even though he lost the nationwide vote to Hillary Clinton by almost 3 million ballots.

So now Trump has succeeded in making the entire GOP a party to his long-term debt to Putin and his oligarchs. “Moscow Mike” Johnson has blocked any aid to Ukraine for over a year; the last congressional appropriation for foreign aid was passed in 2022, when Nancy Pelosi ran the House.

Meanwhile, under Trump’s and Putin’s direction, Republicans in Congress are doing everything they can to damage the people of the United States.

They believe it will help them in the 2024 election if they can ruin the U.S. economy while convincing American voters that our system of government is so corrupt (“deep state”) that we should consider replacing democracy with an autocratic strongman form of government like Putin’s Russia. Tucker Carlson is even suggesting that Russia is a better place to live than the US.

They revel in pitting racial, religious, and gender groups against each other while embracing a form of fascism that pretends to be grounded in Christianity, all while welcoming Putin’s social media trolls who are promoting these divisions.

Republican-aligned think tanks are working on Project 2025, a naked attempt to consolidate power in the White House to support a strongman president who can override the will of the people, privatize Social Security and Medicare, shut down our public school system, fully criminalize abortion and homosexuality (Sam Alito called for something like that this week), and abandon our democratic allies in favor of a realignment with Russia, China, and North Korea.

Trump got us here by openly playing to the fears and prejudices of white people who are freaked out by the rapid post-1964 “browning” of America. Putin jumped in to help amplify the message a thousandfold with his social media trolls, who are posting thousands of times a day as you read these words.

Now that Putin largely controls the GOP, today’s question is how far Republicans are willing to go in their campaign to bring the USA to her knees on behalf of Putin and Trump.

• When Congress comes back into session next week, will they take up Ukraine aid?
• Will they continue their opposition to comprehensive immigration and border reform?
• Will they keep pushing to privatize Social Security with their new “commission”?
• Will they work as hard to kneecap Taiwan on behalf of President Xi as they have Ukraine on behalf of Putin?
• Will they continue to quote Russian Intelligence propaganda in their effort to smear President Biden?
• Instead of just 7 Republicans going to Moscow to “celebrate” the Fourth of July, will the entire party move their event to that city like the NRA did? Or to Budapest, like CPAC did?

Or will the GOP suddenly start listening to the rational voices left in their party, the Mitt Romneys and Liz Cheneys who still believe in democracy (even if they want to gut the social safety net and turn loose the polluters)?

With regard to your mention of the CIA locking horns with JFK, Nixon, Carter and Trump: I definitely agree. What I think is particularly interesting is that many of the CIA operatives that took down Carter with the October Surprise (payoff not to release the hostages before the election) were actually ex-CIA at the time because Carter had done some housecleaning and banished the worst of them as he had promised he would prior to the 76 election, and then they all came flooding back in with Reagan. I saw something in the independent media some time ago indicating that something similar happened with a good number of people who were in the Obama State Department, that they worked against the Trump administration abroad, and then came back in with Biden in 2020, but I can't remember the precise details or where I saw it at the moment. I'll have to look for it.

And you had also mentioned Nixon communicating outside of official channels, and pissing off the Joint Chiefs, which I recognized from Jim Hougan's books. So yes, I am familiar with that as well...

Interesting, but the JFKA is still something of a third rail in US politics and media. 

Any major media figure or candidate is comes front and center that the CIA played a role in the JFKA...is booted out, demonized and ridiculed by legacy media.

But members of both major political parties who have suppressed the JFK Records Act documents for decades...always get a pass. 

I have no idea if Trump was being truthful when he spoke to Napolitano.

There is no double standard.

For everything I believe regarding the JFKA, I have in front of me a large amount of evidence pointing to something that contradicts something accepted by the WC. I can analyze the evidence for myself to determine the truth. I don't have to rely on the opinions of commentators. Nor do I have to rely on the uncorroborated stories of individuals.

Generally speaking, I don't trust other people's judgments. I like to base my opinions on raw evidence and corroborated statements.

RO;  What are you talking about?  What "Russian agent" did Murray depend on?  Murray followed the Mueller investigation himself and wrote what he saw.  This tells me you still haven't read his article. If you have, please address this point of his: instead of falsely asserting the Russians hacked the DNC and gave the information to Assange, why didn't Mueller interview people who knew he was wrong and could tell him so?  Like Assange, Bill Binney, or someone at the NSA who would have known about the hack if his story was true. You know enough about how the Warren Commission was run to frame Oswald to understand the point. Mueller avoided people who could contradict the story he wanted to tell.

You are aware, aren't you, that Craig Murray claims that he received the leaked DNC e-mails from the leaker himself? And that the leaker was a disgruntled DNC employee?

So that's how Murray knows that the e-mails weren't hacked by Russians.

So what I was saying to you is that, even if Murray is telling the truth, it could be that the guy he got the e-mails from wasn't really a DNC employee. Maybe he was a Russian Agent claiming to be a DNC employee. And that he told Murray he was a DNC employee just to exonerate the Russians.

Murray admitted that he didn't know who the so-called "DNC employee" was.
