Group 1 is the transcript of the interrogation of various police officers (Graves, Archer, Clardy, McMillan, etc) at Ruby's trial relative to the facts and circumstances surrounding Oswald's murder by Ruby. In several of the PDF's (PDF 4, %a, and another one), half of the PDF's are posted upside down.
Group 2 appears to be more of the same.
The first 3 pdf files were all posted upside down.
You have to save them to your hard drive, and then using Adobe, rotate them.
I had to laugh. At one point Belli is arguing with Judge Brown on the statements given by police officers. The defense has not been allowed to see them.
Finally, Ass't DA William Alexander introduces one as state's evidence, but it is a photostatic copy and Belli hasn't had the chance to examine it to see if it is authentic.
Belli says' "Judge, these may be as valid as a Chinese laundry ticket, as far as I know." He demands to see the originals. He is refused.
Belli asks, "Are we back in the Middle Ages, Judge, that we can't see the original of a document?"
The Court: "Yes, Sir."
I had skipped Groups 3 - 9 in the first go round, so I thought I'd go back and pick them up here:
Group 6
pdfs 51 - 55. These pdfs revolve around Wade's participation in the making of a movie called "Countdown in Dallas" in 1967. The movie was going to be produced by Robert Larsen Productions in Colorado Springs, CO They were going to create a seperate company called Flag-Star, Inc. The movie was going to be a documentary, but it was also supposed to bolster the image of Dallas, TX in the eyes of the world. Wade, Curry and Robert Denson had agreed to open their personal, confidential, and public files and records. Wade was going to get $20,000 plus 20% of the producer's gross. Curry was going to get $10,000 and 10% of the gross. Denson was going to get $5,000 and 5% of the gross. Robert Denson was a private eye and the Chief Investigator for the defense during Ruby's trial. There were newspaper articles in the LA Times and NY Times on this movie at the time. Roy Truly wanted $2,000 to act in the movie and another $5,000 for use of the TSBD.
Negotiations started around April of 1967, but the project appears to have fizzled by October.
There are budgets for the movie project and anticipated rates of returns for investors. Together, Wade, Curry and Denson were projected to receive $255,000.
There are some letters to Wade written by people who read about the project in the papers. Some are not very complimentary.

I've been working my way through the Dallas DA's online documents.
In Group 4, pdf 37, there is a search warrant for Jack Ruby's apartment. There's a letter to Al Sharpe of the AGVA, a brochure on how to use the twist board, a memo from Tom Palmer, Dallas Branch Manager of the AGVA, etc.
At the tail end of pdf 37, there is a blank "While You Were Out" telephone message form. Written on the back side of that telephone message slip is a handwritten note that says,
"Complaint of Lee Harvey Oswald."

There is nothing to prove that the telephone message slip belonged to Jack Ruby, but the fact that it is included in a list of Ruby's possessions is significant, I think.

Has anyone ever heard anything about something called Goosecreek?
I was looking in the NARA database for something else and ran across a couple of entries like this 1963 CIA memo from Tokyo to Washington:

Both these documents are on the Mary Ferrell site in the CIA's microfilm collection.
The second memo is to Bill Harvey and it says that the sender is reluctant to send QJWIN to Leopoldville until after he gets a chance to talk to Harvey when he returns from whatever trip Harvey is on.

I seem to remember reading a document, which I can't locate at the moment, that states George Burkley took possession of the so called Burros fragment from Secret Service agent Robert Bouck, which was then handed over to Bethesda Naval Hospital.James
The ARRB Medical Exhibits 237 and 54 that I cited above have a copy of Burkley's receipt of the fragment from Bouck.

"Abraham Bolden also stated the following in his letter to Ohio Congressman Louis Stokes, former Chairman of the HSCA..." who is John Heard ? If the name John Heard (Hurt) has not been documented in the files of the Warren Commission then the files of the United States Congress are far from complete regarding the assassination of the President. Less than 24 hrs after the assassination of the President and while Lee Harvey Oswald was still in custody prior to his own assassination by Jack Ruby, all Secret Service offices across the nation were instructed to determine the whereabouts of a John Heard and any name phonetically sounding like Heard whose name was in the Secret Service files. At a time when the nation's attention was focused upon the name Lee Oswald ,the Secret Service was investigating John Heard all across the nation."...Thank you. That was very helpful.
I was particularly interested in this passage:
17: Agent Louis B.Sims: told the HSCA..."...he could not remember dates but that he recalls it could have been any time up to a year prior to the assassination, he was assigned to conduct a surveillance on a subject that was either Puerto Rican or Cuban .He does not remember any specific details other than it involved gun running and it appeared to be a very sensitive investigation. He stated the names Echevarria and Manual Rodriquez were familiar but he couldn't place them..(HSCA 5/22/78 RIF # 180-10093-100221.)

Thanks. The ARRB claimed to have found him and that he was a motorcycle cop. The trouble is, he was not a cop and the ARRB got no info from Dallas.John Hunt
PS Burris turned the fragment over to R.L. Studebaker, not Weizmann. The Weitzman fragment was a separate fragment altogether.
It's an interesting question. There is no Burros or Burroughs listed in Batchelor's Exhibit 5002.
I'm assuming you've seen the ARRB Medical Exhibits 237 and 238. The ARRB asked the City of Dallas and Dallas County if they had any information on Burros, Weitzman and the bone fragment. Dallas County wrote Doug Horne back and said, "Gary Mack, Archivist for the Dallas County Historical Foundation (to whom Dallas County turned over all their records) has reviewed all material in their collection and reports that no information is available about Seymour Weitzman, a bone fragment, or David Burros or Burroughs."
The name Burros or Burroughs does not appear in the index of the DPD Archives.
If the ARRB did find "Burros/Burroughs", where or where is his interview?? Long story short, Davis Burris remains a witness know only from a previously unpublished photo I found at NARA, and a receipt by Burkley where his mane is likely misspelled (Burros).
In his WC testimony, Weitzman talks about receiving a bone fragment from someone and turning it over to a Secret Service Agent. He speaks of this prior to his entering the TSBD.
In my essay entitled, Secret Service: On the Knoll and Beyond, in the online seminars on this website, I postulate that Wetzman more than likely encountered on of the bogus Secret Service Agents in and around Dealey Plaza, since the first known SS Agent to enter the Plaza was Forrest Sorrels and Sorrels didn't enter the Plaza until well after the search of the TBD was well under way.
I went through Studebaker's WC testimony, but they didn't ask him about any bone fragments.

SteveIf my memory serves me correctly, the call was for a John Heard or a "phonetic" variation on that name. The use of the word "phonetic" is what has led people to believe that it may have been "phonetically" the name "John Hurt" that was uncovered during the HSCA.
Your dates are interesting, if correct, because the Oswald call to John Hurt did not occur until the late evening of, I believe, the 24th. If a call went out to any "Chicago Office" on the 23rd or early on the 24th for information about a John Heard it would be difficult to associate that name with the "Hurt" that Oswald attempted to contact late on the 24th.

A couple of thoughts:
The call to Hurt in North Carolina was placed on the 23rd. By the evening of the 24th, Oswald was dead.
In April, 1970 a Sherman Skolnick sued the National Archives for release of records relating to the alleged assassination plot in Chicago on November 2, 1963. The particulars of this suit can be found in the FBI JFK Assassination file, Section 172 beginning on about page 182.

On page 185 of Section 172, it says, "On the night of November 23, 1963, one of the Secret Service Agents in Chicago received a call at home from a Secret Service Agent in Dallas who wanted "instant information" on the following: a) Klein's Sporting Goods Company... and the Oswald rifle, and
whether Oswald received money from Chicago as alleged in a Chicago newspaper.(My own thoughts is that the Dallas Secret Service Agent was Inspector Kelly)
On page 186 it says that on the 24th, Maurice Matineau "called one of his secret service agents and asked him if he had ever heard of a John Heard, phonetically pronounced. Martineau asked the agent to "pull" all cards marked "Heard". There were approximately 100 such "Heards." It is believed that the Secret Service arrested a John Heard at that time; said name phonetically pronounced."
On page 193 of this Section 172, there is a copy of the John Hurt Dallas jail call card.

If the call from Dallas to Chicago was made as a result of LHO's call to North Carolina, the Secret Service already knew that the man LHO called was spelled Hurt.
If LHO called North Carolina, why was Dallas asking Chicago for information?
Was Chicago the repository for Secret Service records? Why would Chicago have 100 records of Heards? That's a lot for one town, even one the size of Chicago.
Was, in fact, a John Heard arrested in Chicago?
Why was Jim Braden asked if he knew a Thomas Mosley and a John Heard in back to back questions immediately after being asked if he was in Chicago in October or November of 1963?

Gary Mack tells me: He made a fake gun by carving a bar of soap and painting it black with shoe polish. The gun can be seen in the hands of a sheriff’s deputy at left. The woman was the guy’s hostage (I think his name was Gregory).
The second picture is likely one of the other prisoners who broke out with him; there were four or five altogether. That stairway leads to the Ruby courtroom.
pdf 3015 shows this young guy being led away by two men and a note attached to this picture identifies the three as Sweatt, Gregory, and Harris.

Ruby had a lot of friends and associates.As interesting as Jean DeSanders, Braden's pal had married the widow of the founder of Magnolia Oil Co., and the three lived together at her home in Walker's neighborhood, until Sheriff Bill Decker evicted Braden as a vagarant.
Also thanks for the Chicago connection with John Heard.

This is just one of those little coincidences.
Vic Robertson, a reporter for WFAA testified before the WC. He told them he had seen Jack Ruby about a dozen times. He met Ruby through Murphy Martin who was interested in one of Ruby's strippers (he couldn't remember her name), but that she had previously worked at Lone Star Cadillac.
I was reading through Jim Braden's HSCA deposition.
On page 57 of his HSCA deposition, Jim Braden says that he was married to Jean DeSanders from the Lone Star Cadillac.

Does anyone know anything about this person?
On 11/23 or 11/24/63 the Chicago Office of the Secret Service received a call from someone asking if the Chicago Office had any information on a John Heard.
According to Mary Ferrell's Chronologies, the office had cards on approximately 100 Heards and arrested a John Heard.
In his deposition before the HSCA, July 26, 1978, Jim Braden was asked if he had been in Chicago in October or November, 1963 and whether he knew a Thomas Mosley and if he knew a John Heard.

I know in the past, people have said that Heard was really John Hurt, the person LHO was trying to call in North Carolina, but I'm not so sure.

Billy Joe Willis, drummer at Carousel. Ruby not interested in current events. Spoke of Castro in a derogatory manner. Talked to Ruby on the phone the afternoon of 11/23. "Thinks he has seen person in the Club resembling photo of Oswald, but is not sure."
Nancy Powell, AKA Tammi True. Last saw Ruby on 11/19. Quit because of commuting problems. Ruby definitely not homosexual. Ruby told Jada to "clean up her act." Ruby threatened to throw Jada down the stairs.
Sherry Angel Weston, wife of Wally Weston. Ruby goes into insane rages. It was rumored that Ruby beat his sister quite severly. Ruby shot Oswald to make a name for himself and get nationwide publicity. Thinks he may have only wanted to wound Oswald.
Joyce Lee Weatherspoon McDonald, AKA Joy Dale. Saw Ruby at 3:00 PM on 11/22. Ruby was crying. Referred to Ruby's close friendship with Detective Bob Carroll and Tony Zoppi, b]Group 63[/bDMN.
Elaine Rogers, friend of Marilyn Moone. Ruby was making obscene phone calls to her.

Arranged to borrow $5.00 from Ruby through the attendant at Nichols garage. She called Ruby at 10:00 to 10:30 on Sunday 11/24 to borrow $25.00 to pay her rent.
pdf 342. Marilyn Miranda Moone, stripper. Thought Ruby was a homosexual and was overly aggresive to people to cover up his inferiority complex. Ruby also made calls to Marilyn that were almost obscene.
Reagan Turman, professional boxer. Ruby fought continually, meaning five or six times a week. The victims of Ruby's assaults were either a person who had been drinking heavily or someone Ruby could easily whip.
Al Bright, Corpus Christie knows a former bookkeeper at Carousel named Mike Ryan or Roy Pike. This person furnished information that Ruby was friendly with James Hoffa and the "syndicate." Says Ruby is the payoff man for the DPD. Whenever police raids are to be made on the Dallas underworld, Ruby would always be contacted first by some unknown person in the DPD. Bright has not seen this informant since March, 1963.
Roy William Pike is the person referred to by Bright. Says he does not believe Ruby has any real or actual contact with James Hoffa or the "syndicate." Says he has no information that Ruby is the "payoff man for the DPD."
Mrs. Paul Calgrove, AKA Najada. At a New Year's Eve party in 1961, Ruby slapped her. She wanted to press charges with a Lt. or Capt. in the Vice Squad who was present. The officer laughed at her and told her she was crazy. Numerous police officers would go into Ruby's office and emerge carrying a bottle of whiskey.

"Mrs. Paul Salos, Tampa, FL has been at the Carousel and found Ruby to be polite, courteous and considerate and always the gentleman. It should be noted that this person is an entertainer who has never worked for Ruby."

Frank Ferraro got in a fight with Ruby in 1962. Ruby hit him with a set of brass knuckles that sent him to the emergency room at Parkland Hospital.
Herbert Charles David Kelly, former kitchenman about 1959. Each Sunday night, Ruby would entertain as many as eight law enforcement officers, furnishing them with expensive dinners and drinks. Ruby has a persecution complex.
Gladys Craddock, part time hostess. Ruby told her Jada was using the Club to prostitute.

Abe Weinstein won't talk to Ruby because he doesn't like his ethics.
Cleeve Dugas, New Orleans. Knows of Ruby being in New Orleans on at least two occasions about August, 1962.

Billy Joe Willis, drummer at Carousel. Ruby not interested in current events. Spoke of Castro in a derogatory manner. Talked to Ruby on the phone the afternoon of 11/23. "Thinks he has seen person in the Club resembling photo of Oswald, but is not sure."
Nancy Powell, AKA Tammi True. Last saw Ruby on 11/19. Quit because of commuting problems. Ruby definitely not homosexual. Ruby told Jada to "clean up her act." Ruby threatened to throw Jada down the stairs.
Sherry Angel Weston, wife of Wally Weston. Ruby goes into insane rages. It was rumored that Ruby beat his sister quite severly. Ruby shot Oswald to make a name for himself and get nationwide publicity. Thinks he may have only wanted to wound Oswald.
Joyce Lee Weatherspoon McDonald, AKA Joy Dale. Saw Ruby at 3:00 PM on 11/22. Ruby was crying. Referred to Ruby's close friendship with Detective Bob Carroll and Tony Zoppi, b]Group 63[/bDMN.
Elaine Rogers, friend of Marilyn Moone. Ruby was making obscene phone calls to her.
pdf 341 - 342. Karen Bennett Carlin (spelled Karlin), AKA Little Lynn. Last saw Ruby on Thursday night. Went to work on Saturday and the Club was closed. Arranged to borrow $5.00 from Ruby through the attendant at Nichols garage. She called Ruby at 10:00 to 10:30 on Sunday 11/24 to borrow $25.00 to pay her rent.
pdf 342. Marilyn Miranda Moone, stripper. Thought Ruby was a homosexual and was overly aggresive to people to cover up his inferiority complex. Ruby also made calls to Marilyn that were almost obscene.
Reagan Turman, professional boxer. Ruby fought continually, meaning five or six times a week. The victims of Ruby's assaults were either a person who had been drinking heavily or someone Ruby could easily whip.
Al Bright, Corpus Christie knows a former bookkeeper at Carousel named Mike Ryan or Roy Pike. This person furnished information that Ruby was friendly with James Hoffa and the "syndicate." Says Ruby is the payoff man for the DPD. Whenever police raids are to be made on the Dallas underworld, Ruby would always be contacted first by some unknown person in the DPD. Bright has not seen this informant since March, 1963.
Roy William Pike is the person referred to by Bright. Says he does not believe Ruby has any real or actual contact with James Hoffa or the "syndicate." Says he has no information that Ruby is the "payoff man for the DPD."
Mrs. Paul Calgrove, AKA Najada. At a New Year's Eve party in 1961, Ruby slapped her. She wanted to press charges with a Lt. or Capt. in the Vice Squad who was present. The officer laughed at her and told her she was crazy. Numerous police officers would go into Ruby's office and emerge carrying a bottle of whiskey.

pdf 343. Bobby "Tiny" Simmons, Texas Penitentiary. Worked as a musician in the Silver Spur. Says Ruby was a stool pigeon for the DPD. Police officers were given fre meals and drinks and women were also made available.
Mr. William Simmons, 2530 W. 5th. Irving. Lives in the immediate neighborhood of Michael Payne (sp), but says he's never seen Ruby being in that neighborhood.
Frank Ferraro got in a fight with Ruby in 1962. Ruby hit him with a set of brass knuckles that sent him to the emergency room at Parkland Hospital.
Herbert Charles David Kelly, former kitchenman about 1959. Each Sunday night, Ruby would entertain as many as eight law enforcement officers, furnishing them with expensive dinners and drinks. Ruby has a persecution complex.
Gladys Craddock, part time hostess. Ruby told her Jada was using the Club to prostitute.

Jan Humphrey called Ruby about a job. He told her to come to his apartment, where he made "perverted sexual advances to her."

Benny Bickers, University Club. Ruby wouldn't pay his strippers and when they would ask for their pay, he would get mad and beat them up. Says Ruby furnished information on other Clubs to the DPD.
Barney Weinstein. Ruby hit people for no reason. He has heard that Ruby has loaned his girls to private parties without going through the AGVA.
Abe Weinstein won't talk to Ruby because he doesn't like his ethics.
Cleeve Dugas, New Orleans. Knows of Ruby being in New Orleans on at least two occasions about August, 1962.
