  1. Idaho county GOP shredded for ad accusing local libraries of grooming kids: 'Every premise is wrong'

ny Brad Reed May 16, 2023

    https://www.rawstory.com/idaho-county-gop-shredded-for-ad-accusing-local-libraries-of-grooming-children-every-premise-is-wrong/

“A new TV ad funded by the Kootenai County Republican Party is being called out by a local newspaper for misleading viewers about local libraries "grooming" children for sex.

In a review of the ad, the Spokesman-Review describes how it implies that libraries are being run by transgender pedophiles who are obsessed with showing sexually explicit materials to children and even teaching them about "anal sex."

“The ad was so misleading that it even got called out by Sandy Patano, a founding member of the North Idaho Republicans.

"The KCRCC and the chairman will say and do anything to win,” she told the Spokesman-Review. “I don’t think they’re trying to protect children. I think they are lying to people to protect their grip on power.”

Take away their public schools and take away their public libraries.

Truth is what I tell you it is.

  2. Meteorologists targeted in climate misinfo surge

by Roland Lloyd Parry and Benedicte Rey with Adria Laborda in Barcelona and Kate Tan in Sydney May 13, 2023

    Physics.org https://phys.org/news/2023-05-meteorologists-climate-misinfo-surge.html

“Once trusted faces on the news, meteorologists now brave threats, insults and slander online from conspiracy theorists and climate change deniers who accuse them of faking or even fixing the weather.

Users on Twitter and other social media falsely accused Spain's weather agency of engineering a drought, Australia's of doctoring its thermometers and France's of exaggerating global warming through misplaced weather stations.

"The coronavirus is no longer a trend. Conspiracy theorists and deniers who used to talk about that are now spreading disinformation about climate change," Alexandre Lopez-Borrull, lecturer in Information and Communication Sciences at the Open University of Catalonia, told AFP.

In a harsh drought and with local elections looming, Spain's State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) spoke out after its members were threatened in Twitter messages, phone calls and emails.

"Murderers", "Criminals", "You'll pay for this", "We're watching you", the messages shouted.

"Do you want us to publish your contact details and those of your family?" read one Tweet aimed at an AEMET employee.

"Crooks! You are destroying nature on the orders of the damned 2030 agenda," said another.”

Hold on a second, Congressman," Bartiromo said. "Did you just say that the whistleblower or the informant is now missing?"

"Well, we we're hopeful that we can find the informant," Comer said, explaining the informant was in the "spy business" and "they don't make a habit of being seen a lot."

"The nine of the ten people that we've identified that have very good knowledge with respect to the Bidens," he added, "they're one of three things, Maria, they're either currently in court, they're currently in jail, or they're currently missing."

"Now, the truth that I can tell everyone this morning is we have not lost the submarine,"[Marjorie Taylor]  Greene said. "That whistleblower is very safe. But he does fear for his life, and rightfully so."

While Greene claimed she was in contact with one whistleblower, up to nine other witnesses were missing or unavailable.

"That whistleblower came through for us, thankfully, through the help of Senator Grassley," she explained. "But other whistleblowers, yes, they are missing. They're either in court, they're in jail, or we cannot talk with them at this time because they can't be found."

"And our investigation is so important, Steve, that this will bring down the president of the United States," she added.

  4. On November 26, 1963 the Dallas City Police Department emptied out its jails.

The three tramps, Doyle, Abrams and Gedney were released that day.

    John Elrod was released.

I believe that Daniel Wayne Douglas was released too (although I could be wrong about him).

Anybody else you can think of?

I wonder what led up to that decision, to just let everybody out at the same time.

That's two days after Ruby shot Oswald. Case Closed?

  6. -Donald Trump -

"Happy Mother’s Day to ALL, in particular the Mothers, Wives and Lovers of the Radical Left Fascists, Marxists, and Communists who are doing everything within their power to destroy and obliterate our once great Country," he wrote.

That was followed with, "Please make these complete Lunatics and Maniacs Kinder, Gentler, Softer and, most importantly, Smarter, so that we can, quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!"

Happy Mother's Day, all you Lunatics and Maniacs!

  7. Trump rages after sexual abuse verdict but legal woes have only just begun

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/may/14/trump-sexual-abuse-verdict-e-jean-carroll-legal-troubles

“But in the coming months it’s going to get a lot harder for the former, and possibly future, American president to spin his legal problems as political persecution by Democratic elitists. Investigations against him are mounting, and even more troubled legal waters lie ahead for Trump – and some of his acolytes.

Indictments in conservative Georgia are coming down the line and many of the key witnesses against Trump will be his fellow Republicans, including some who helped him try to rig the 2020 election.

Similarly, investigations by a justice department special counsel into Trump’s actions leading up to the 6 January 2021 storming of the Capitol, and the stashing of classified documents at his Florida mansion, are being built on the accounts of aides and political associates who are potential witnesses against him.”

"Leading the way is a prosecutor in Atlanta who is stacking up witnesses against the former president, almost all of them Republicans,..."

    Hoisted with his own petard.

  8. I think the tramps case got so muddled is because they were, in fact, arrested twice that afternoon. Once by the Sheriff's Department, and again by the City Police Department. One time they were asleep on sheets of steel on a flatbed and driven to the station by police in different colored uniforms, and the second time they were hauled out of a gondola (coal car) and walked through Dealey Plaza.

  9. CNN told 'disgusted' audience members to stay silent during Trump's town hall: report

by Adam Nichols May 12, 2023

    https://www.rawstory.com/cnn-town-hall-2660063574/

“The audience at CNN’s town hall Wednesday appeared to be lapping up Donald Trump’s every word, but there were many dissenters in the crowd – and they were told to stay quiet, a new report claims.”

“There were also people that sat there quietly disgusted or bewildered,” Republican political consultant Matthew Bartlett told the news website Puck.

“The floor manager came out ahead of time and said, ‘Please do not boo, please be respectful.’ You were allowed to applaud.

"And I think that set the tone where people were going to try their best to keep this between the navigational beacons, and that if they felt compelled to applaud, they would, but they weren't going to have an outburst or they weren't going to boo an answer."

    navigational beacons?

What? Were they holding up applaud and cheer cards like a game show?

"All right you people. When the red light comes on, clap and cheer."

  10. Why the E. Jean Carroll Verdict Will Matter to Voters
By by Ryan Goodman and Norman L. Eisen May 9, 2023
    https://www.justsecurity.org/86507/why-the-e-jean-carroll-verdict-public-opinion-peer-reviewed-research/
"With #MeToo translated into the political arena, many Americans have shown they are not willing to support a candidate for elected office who has committed sexual assault – with the understanding that such a severe abuse of power is simply disqualifying for holding a position of public trust. Time will tell if the E. Jean Carroll sexual assault verdict has the effect that a large majority of Americans said they wanted in 2017, namely, to deny the presidency to Trump if the allegation that he had engaged in such abominable conduct was proven. It now has been."

  11. Former Republican Congressman Joe Walsh tweeted: “So the guy who incited an insurrection, was indicted for financial crimes, has now also been found to be a sexual abuser. And soon he’ll be indicted for criminally interfering with election results, and then indicted for…

“And he’ll be the 2024 GOP nominee. Good job Republicans.”

    To which, I would add:

    He lost the 2020 election.

Trump filed something like 63 lawsuits trying to overturn his loss in the 2020 election and lost every one of them.

He endorsed a bunch of candidates in the 2022 midterms and they all lost.

Now he's lost a sexual abuse trial.

    The man is a loser.

When are Republicans going to wake up to the fact that backing Trump is a losing proposition?

Steve, in your opinion, is there anything untoward or unusual about the above?

    Jonathan,

What surprised me is how closely information about Oswald was being held by the Office of Naval Intellignce.

Immediately after the assassination, the information they shared was to be hand delivered and not trusted to the telephone, or TWX. They were reluctant to share info with the Pentagon or the Defense Intelligene Agency, and even then, it seems that they were only sharing summaries, and not the raw data. Here's some samples:

Captain Johnson was with the Office of Naval Intelligence Support Center in Arlington, VA.

I'll go look Ben, I am fairly sure we know who that was and have his direct statements...  yet I need to expand upon these ONI documents and Taylor.  Add in what Steve posted from Dec 1962...

    David,

I went through these memos last night, and most of them deal with Oswald's discharge and how the Navy was going to respond to Oswald's objections.

I saw the same enclosure about protecting sources and methods attached to memos from August, 1962.

It looks like Op 92 was the office and then Op 921 was referring to an individual.  I also saw references to Op921E.

  14. David,

In your first memo, it says that info was received by a Captain Jackson (Op-921).

Just out of curiosity, I looked up Op-921 ONI, and came up with this:

    https://ia803204.us.archive.org/27/items/nsia-AgentOswaldOfficeNavalInvestigativeService/nsia-AgentOswaldOfficeNavalInvestigativeService/Pages%20201-250_text.pdf

That pdf file has 50 pages to it. A lot of the information was to be hand-carried - not sent over the wires.

It looks like Op-921 was some kind of clearinghouse for information on Oswald.

I had to laugh when I saw this memo:

    Good old Lee Henry

    *smile*

They were looking for information on Edward Pick too.
