  1. Here's why America won't go to 'civil war' over Trump

by Robert Reich June 12, 2023

    https://www.rawstory.com/trump-civil-war-2661211016/

“Trump’s advocates are having difficulty defending the charges in the unsealed indictment — that Trump threatened America’s security by illegally holding (and in some cases sharing) documents concerning “United States nuclear programs; potential vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies to military attack; and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack,” as well as sharing a “plan of attack” against Iran.

Many Republicans consider national security the highest and most sacred goal of the Republic. A large number have served in the armed forces.

None of this is cause for complacency. Trump is as dangerous as ever. He has inspired violence before, and he could do it again.

But I believe that many who supported him in 2020 are catching on to his lunacy.

Trump wants Americans to engage in a “final battle” over his own narcissistic cravings. Instead, he is likely to get a squalid and humiliating last act.”

  2. Marjorie Taylor Greene: Satan hates women because he can't have babies

by David Edwards June 11, 2023,

    https://www.rawstory.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-women-satan/

“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told a group of women Sunday that Satan hated them because they could have babies.

While appearing at Turning Point USA's Young Women's Leadership Conference, Greene told her version of the biblical creation myth.”

Why is this woman allowed to hold public office?

    No. Scrap that.

Why is this woman allowed out in public at all?

  3. 3 hours ago, Douglas Caddy said:

Trump will soon be indicted for his commanding role in the January 6th insurrection. Then a trial will be scheduled. How will Trump be able to mandatorily attend both trials that are being held simultaneously?

If Trump is sentenced to prison for the State crime in Georgia, and he is sentenced to Federal prison in the Documents case, where will he serve his time?

  4. I want Rule 43

    I want Rule 43

    https://www.alternet.org/trump-rule-43/

In a column for the Daily Beast, Trump biographer David Cay Johnston explained that the former president would not have the option of skipping a federal trial brought by the Department of Justice in the same manner as he has with the E. Jean Carroll rape and defamation trial currently ongoing in Manhattan.

At issue is what is known as is Rule 43 which mandates the accused in felony trials must be in attendance during their trials.

"Under Lewis v. United States, an 1892 Supreme Court decision which formed the basis for Rule 43, Trump would be required to attend every minute of his trial," Johnston wrote before elaborating, "The high court held in Lewis that a 'leading principle that pervades the entire law of criminal procedure' is that once an individual is indicted 'nothing shall be done in the absence of the prisoner… in felonies it is not in the power of the prisoner, either by himself or his counsel, to waive the right to be personally present during the trial.'"

Elise Stefanik Is Already Raising Money (For Herself) Off Of Trump's Indictment

The House GOP conference chair is urging people to donate to the “Official Trump Defense Fund,” but virtually all of that money would go to her campaign

RUSH A DONATION TO OUR OFFICIAL TRUMP DEFENSE FUND TO STAND WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP,” the email shouts.

A $250 donation to the “OFFICIAL TRUMP DEFENSE FUND,” for example, breaks down to $247.50 for Stefanik and $2.50 for the Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee.

A $500 donation translates to $495 for Stefanik and $5 for Trump.

A $3,300 donation breaks down to $3,267 for Stefanik and $33 for Trump.

"Solar trees offer unique solution to charging electric cars
    https://www.independent.co.uk/tech/solar-tree-electric-cars-solarbotanic-b2349091.html
SolarBotanic Trees, which was founded last year, is developing two different sized versions of the tree, one 5.5 metres tall tree and another 3.5 metres tall, with the first installations planned for early next year in Oxford.
“The idea is to put solar panels on a domed surface like the canopy of a tree, and then place a battery storage system into the trunk."
"Putting solar cells and batteries into the same structure is very practical, as it allows them to store excess energy without having to solely rely on its backup grid supply.”

  7. Who was the mystery female family member who was giving Walt Nauta instructions about squirreling boxes of documents away?

"Before that happened, Mr Trump allegedly asked Mr Nauta to remove 64 boxes from their storage room and bring them to his private residence, meaning they would not be present for the lawyer to search.

That day, the family member allegedly texted Mr Nauta: "Good afternoon, Walt. Happy Memorial Day! I saw you put boxes to POTUS' room.

"Just FYI, and I will tell him as well: not sure how many he wants to take on Friday on the plane. We will NOT have room for them. Plane will be full with luggage. Thank you!"

Mr Nauta replied with a smiley face emoji, saying: "Good afternoon ma'am. Thank you so much. I think he wanted to pick from them. I don't imagine him wanting to take the boxes.

"He told me to put them in the room and that he was going to talk to you about them.""

  8. Trump aide Walt Nauta indicted in classified documents case

By Evan Perez, Sara Murray, Tierney Sneed and Jeremy Herb, CNN Fri June 9, 2023

    https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/09/politics/walt-nauta-trump-indicted/index.html

"An aide to former President Donald Trump has been indicted in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the mishandling of classified documents from the Trump White House, two sources familiar with the indictment tell CNN.

Walt Nauta’s indictment is the second in the special counsel’s investigation after Trump was indicted on seven counts on Thursday.

Nauta was with Trump at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club this week.

The specific charges against Nauta have not been revealed.

Trump responded to Nauta’s indictment on his social media Friday, writing, “They are trying to destroy his life, like the lives of so many others, hoping that he will say bad things about ‘Trump.’ He is strong, brave, and a Great Patriot. The FBI and DOJ are CORRUPT!”

Nauta’s involvement in the movement of boxes of classified material at Trump’s Florida resort had been a subject of scrutiny of investigators. Nauta, with the help of a maintenance worker at Mar-a-Lago, moved the boxes before the FBI executed a search warrant on the Palm Beach property last August.”

  9. Legal experts react after Trump-appointed judge Aileen Cannon assigned to Mar-a-Lago case

by Matthew Chapman June 9, 2023,

    https://www.rawstory.com/aileen-cannon-2661172143/

“On Friday, ABC News reported that proceedings in the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump for appear to have been initially assigned to Aileen Cannon — the same Trump-appointed judge who tried to block the FBI from reviewing documents seized from Mar-a-Lago, only to be smacked down by the Court of Appeals.

The appointment, which may only be preliminary and a function of the fact that she previously ruled on a search warrant that was part of the same case, triggered an immediate reaction from legal experts”

“.Georgia State law professor Anthony Michael Kreis wrote, "Judge Britt Grant is just waiting here in Atlanta to reverse Cannon" — a reference to an appellate judge on the 11th Circuit, herself another Trump appointee, who both joined the opinion reversing Cannon's blockade on the FBI investigation and scolded Trump's attorneys for misrepresenting facts about the case.”

Cannon was also the judge who drummed up that whole Special Master business that also got thrown out of court.

    What a circus.

  10. I don't blame the police too much for the massive response. A fellow officer had been gunned down, and the last reports were that the subject was on foot.

The distance from 10th and Patton to the Texas Theater is roughly .5 or (1/2) a mile'

The average walking speed is 3 miles per hour, or 20 minutes a mile. Oswald should have been able to cover that half a mile in 10 minutes.

The question for me is, if Tippit was shot at 1:16 and the first radio call on the suspect at the Theater came in at 1:45, where was Oswald in that half an hour?

  11. Prosecutors ready to ask for Trump indictment on obstruction and Espionage Act charges

The Independent has learned that prosecutors are prepared to ask grand jurors to vote on charges as early as Thursday

by Andrew Feinberg June 7, 2023

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-indictment-espionage-prosecution-charges-b2353397.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1686166165

“The Independent has learned that prosecutors are ready to ask grand jurors to approve an indictment against Mr Trump for violating a portion of the US criminal code known as Section 793, which prohibits “gathering, transmitting or losing” any “information respecting the national defence”.

“The use of Section 793, which does not make reference to classified information, is understood to be a strategic decision by prosecutors that has been made to short-circuit Mr Trump’s ability to claim that he used his authority as president to declassify documents he removed from the White House and kept at his Palm Beach, Florida property long after his term expired on 20 January 2021.”

“It is understood that prosecutors intend to ask grand jurors to vote on the indictment on Thursday, but that vote could be delayed as much as a week until the next meeting of the grand jury to allow for a complete presentation of evidence, or to allow investigators to gather more evidence for presentation of necessary.”

“Mr Meadows has already given evidence before the grand jury and is said to be cooperating with the investigation into his former boss. It is understood that the former North Carolina congressman will plead guilty to several federal charges as part of a deal for which he has already received limited immunity in exchange for his testimony.”

    1. Oswald admitted he had the Alek James Hidell Selective Service card, bur either “denied” or “declined to admit” that the signature was his.

    2. Marina admitted to signing the name “Hidell” to “two or three things” with the name “Hidell” that were not pamphlets.

    3. Marina said on at least four occasions that they were living on Neely St. in January, and initially, that she had seen Lee cleaning the rifle in January (which she later corrected to mean she saw it for the first time in March).

      (1) Warren Commission testimony of Marina Oswald February 3, 1964,

      http://jfkassassination.net/russ/testimony/oswald_m1.htm

Mr. RANKIN. When did you move to Neely Street from the Elsbeth Street apartment?
Mrs. OSWALD. In January after the new year. I don't remember exactly.

For whatever reason, this can't be true. The Oswalds moved from Elsbeth to Neely on March 3rd and according to the postal money order, the rifle wasn't ordered until March 12th.

      (2) Two weeks later, Marina told the FBI on February 17, 1964 that she saw Oswald practicing with the rifle at the Neely Street address in the beginning of January, 1963 and that he had been cleaning the rifle that same day.

On February 18, 1964 the FBI agents went back to Marina at the offices of her attorney, and said, “Uh, we’ve got a problem. You told us yesterday that you saw Lee cleaning his rifle in January, but he didn’t buy it until March”.

      http://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=1317#relPageId=815

On February 18, 1964 she told the FBI that she was mistaken on February 17th about the date, and that the rifle cleaning incident had really taken place in March, 1963.

      (3) Marina told the WC that she first met Ruth Paine at a party in January, but the party didn’t take place until February 22, 1963

Mr. RANKIN. Can you tell us approximately when you first met Ruth Paine?
Mrs. OSWALD. Soon after New Years I think it was in January.
Mr. RANKIN. Would that be 1963?
      Mrs. OSWALD. Yes.

      (4) Here is the translation of CE993, Marina's Narrative of life with Lee:

      https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=1135#relPageId=610&tab=page

On pp. 626-627, she writes of moving to Neely St. after New Years, and then writes of meeting Ruth Paine.

Officially, she met Ruth on February 22nd, prior to her Neely St. move.

Is Marina once again putting herself on Neely St. in January, when they didn't actually move there until March?

WC testimony of Marina Oswald February 3, 1964

      http://mcadams.posc.mu.edu/russ/testimony/oswald_m1.htm

Mr. RANKIN. Did you ever observe your husband taking the rifle away from the apartment on Neely Street?
Mrs. OSWALD. Now, I think that he probably did sometimes, but I never did see it. You must understand that sometimes I would be in the kitchen and he would be in his room downstairs, and he would say bye-bye, I will be hack soon, and he may have taken it. He probably did. Perhaps he purely waited for an occasion when he could take it away without my seeing it.

Mr. RANKIN. Did you learn at any time that he had been practicing with the rifle?
Mrs. OSWALD. I think that he went once or twice. I didn't actually see him take the rifle, but I knew that he was practicing.

However, on March 3, 1964 Marina told FBI Agents, Wallace Heitman and Anatoly Boguslav that not only had she seen Oswald take the rifle out of the apartment in March, 1963, but that she had gone with him! This is CE 1838.

If Marina never saw Oswald take the rifle from the apartment, how could she re-trace for the FBI the route he used?

Mr. RANKIN. Do you recall the first time that you observed the rifle?
Mrs. OSWALD. That was on Neely Street. I think that was in February.

If the first time that Marina saw the rifle was in February, how could she have seen him cleaning it in January?

Mr. Dulles. Did you ever sign any more such cards with the name "Hidell"?
    Mrs. Oswald. Only this one.
Mr. Dulles. And you never signed the name "Hidell" on any other paper at any time?
    Mrs. Oswald. Only once.

Mr. Dulles. Did you ever sign the name Hidell at any subsequent time to any document?
Mr. Mckenzie. If you recall signing it. Do you recall signing his name to any other document?
Mrs. Oswald. I only remember this one occasion.

Mr. Dulles. Did you make some practice runs of writing this name before you actually put it on the card?
Mrs. Oswald. Yes; because it was difficult for me to write English properly.
Mr. Dulles. So you mean you wrote it several times on another sheet of paper and then put it on this card?
    Mrs. Oswald. Yes.
Representative Ford. Was there anybody else present at the time of this incident?
    Mrs. Oswald. No; only Lee.
Representative Ford. Did he have you sign only one card?
Mrs. Oswald. This was the only time when I--when Lee asked me to do this and I did it. I might have signed two or--- cards and not just one but there weren't a great many.
Representative Ford. Did the other cards have someone else's name besides Lee Harvey Oswald on it?
Mrs. Oswald. No; only Lee Oswald.
Representative Ford. But you think you might have signed more than one such card?
Mrs. Oswald. Maybe two, three. This is just 1 day when I was signing this. It just happened on one occasion.

Marina's 1969 testimony at the Clay Shaw trial:

    http://jfkassassination.net/russ/testimony/marinash.htm

Q: Did you sign anything for him down here?

    A: Yes, sir.

    Q: What did you sign?

A: Some kind of paper about something, but I don't remember what it was.

    Q: Would you recall --

    A: The name Hidell.

    Q: Hidell?

    A: Yes.

Q: You signed the name, Hidell?

    A: Yes, sir.

Q: And what was your purpose of doing that?

A: He asked me to do it and I refused, and then he forced me to do it.

Q: What do you mean, forced you?

A: He threatened me if I wouldn't do it he use, you know -- how shall I say?

    Q: Physical threats?

    A: Physical threats, yes, sir.

is a June 17, 1964 letter from Hoover to J. Lee Rankin concerning Marina's signature on the A.J. Hidell signature on the Fair Play for Cuba Committee membership card.
The FBI determined that Marina signed the FPCC membership card in the name of A.J. Hidell. Hoover says that Exhibits 404A, 408A, 409A and 420 are being returned to you. These are samples of Marina's handwriting.

These handwriting examples can be found in Volume XVII of the Hearings and Exhibits here:

They were introduced during Ruth Paine's WC testimony in Volume II.

    From Marina's HSCA Deposition:

    http://jfkassassination.net/russ/jfkinfo4/jfk12/marinade.htm

    Q. Did he ask you to put your name on any of the leaflets ?
    A. Well, he asked me to put my name on something but I didn't think it was those leaflets.

    Q. What name did they have on the pamphlets? Did Lee have his name on the pamphlets?
    A. I do not recall that the pamphlets have any name on them. I re- member that Lee used to sign his name different than his real name on some things but which things they were I do not recall right now.

    Jonathan,

I personally believe that to be the case.

The Hidell signature on the Selective Service card ties Oswald to the rifle purchase.

The HSCA commissioned a team of people to analyze the handwriting of Oswald. They submitted 63 samples from 50 documents items to handwriting experts JOSEPH P. MC NALLY and DAVID J. PURTELL and CHARLES C. SCOTT.

What is not included in this batch however, is the Selective Service card in the name of Hidell.

What was not done was to compare the signatures on the Hidell Selective Service card with the signature on the rifle's postal money order.
