Of course, things aren't always what they appear to be.

Thanks for posting this Brian. Very surprising indeed. I figured he would languish forever like Sirhan. I would like to read an analysis about the the attempted assassination; the who, how, where shooter/s were and such. I've read a little, but there doesn't seem to be much out there.

Tom,
I couldn't rate it yet, as I haven't had a chance to start it. I'm in the middle of another book right now, so it'll be a little bit. I don't expect a warts-and-all read, but we'll see.

I recently picked up Douglas Waller's "Disciples - The World War II Missions of the CIA Directors who fought for Wild Bill Donovan". It looks at Allen Dulles, Bill Casey, Bill Colby, and Richard Helms, and their various operations and scandals. I think each of the former directors have an interesting, if a bit obfuscated(from the msm, at least) history.

LBJ was a lot worse than most people realize. Henry Marshall, Box 13, etc.......
-
That's some pretty creepy stuff. I wouldn't be surprised that similar programs are going on today, even more sophisticated.
-
Her memory of LBJ is certainly different from most people's, it seems. Many that were close to him have that same view. I would love to hear her talk of his murderous, psychopathic side, although she probably didn't see that.
LBJ may very well have been manic depressive and bipolar, and who knows what else.

That sounds great, Jim. I'll be looking forward to catching the show.
Maybe this will garner wider distribution of Poulgrain's book, making it cheaper and more readily available.
-
Thanks for those Anthony. I'm going to order the book, it looks good.

I came across this title. Has anyone read it, and it is worth checking out?

I thought I had read somewhere( I can't remember where) that Ruby may have gotten in through a back door off the rear loading dock, and down a stairwell directly into the basement, although my recollection could be wrong.
-
The backyard photo that the author says is crucial for his study can't be relied on for much, except as an example of photographic shenanigans.
-
I would prefer a actual book, as I don't do ebooks.
Thanks for your efforts here Jim.

David,
I found that same publisher yesterday and considered buying it, until I learned the shipping is over $22 to the US, more than double the cost of the book. Nope.
-
Thanks for the link Doug, but that's more than I'm willing to pay.
-
Very fascinating, I'm looking forward to diving into this book.
Interesting that even though the book was published in 2014, it doesn't seem to be readily available. No surprises there.

I haven't read Citizen Lane yet, but it's on my list. I've read his JFK books, and like those. I have his book on Jonestown, The Strongest Poison, and plan to read that soon.

I learned alot from Mr. Lane and his research. He definitely got me thinking. Sorry to hear of his passing.

I love these lines from the article:
"According to some theorists, at one point Yellow Springs was said to host none other than Lee Harvey Oswald, the man behind the Kennedy assassination."
"On November 21, 1963, he came to retrieve some of his belongings from Paine’s garage, including the rifle he would use to kill Kennedy the next day."
-
I just watched this yesterday and found it good. The CIA, Military, and JFK's own advisors don't come out looking good. The documentary shows how they repeatedly subverted Kennedy at every turn, and spent considerable time on JFK's relationship and dialogue with Khrushchev and Castro.

Over the weekend, my wife wife and I went to look at an exhibit in the library of a private university in the metro Denver area. As we were leaving, walking past the stacks, she pointed out some books about Kennedy and such, knowing my interests.
As I looked around the section, I saw the obligatory books on JFK and LBJ. The only books related to the assassination were Case Closed and Reclaiming History. I was not surprised at all. Talk about one sided.

I liked the series as well. I think there's a lot of important information to be taken away from it, especially "The Guilty Men", one of the most telling episodes.

Does anyone know anything about the book "The War State: The Cold War Origins Of The Military-Industrial Complex and The Power Elite, 1945-1963", by Michael Swanson?
I was looking at getting it and was trying to guage impressions.
Thanks for your views.
