  1. It really is an army-like battle type situation as your sister described Doug. These command centers must plan, create and coordinate an entire huge response structure within hours! This one involved the immediate life and death movement and welfare of 50,000 people! The responsibility and achievement of creating and implementing such a massive effort and in such a short period of time is incredible. Those involved have saved thousands of lives. And dealing with the recovery and housing needs of so many will be just as challenging. We live 272 miles from Paradise South. Monterey, CA. My wife's sister and her daughter really had no option than to make the drive all the way down here. The smoke situation is incredible. Even here in Monterey ( again 272 miles South!) you can smell it in the air and see it. There is a light brown/yellow haze everywhere including over the Bay. You can imagine how much thicker the smoke is in the S.F. Bay Area which is 100 miles North of us. From there North and into Sacramento the smoke is so heavy people are wearing masks and even flights are effected. My brother was flying from Portland to Sacramento the second day of the fire. He said the view of the smoke below was hard to believe. And he said the smell of brush fire smoke ( slight but noticeable ) was actually in the cabin during flight! The movement of massive fire smoke as it lifts into the atmosphere is very interesting. Air currents change at higher altitudes. Smoke actually gets carried out over the ocean and South at these higher altitudes here in California. That is how San Francisco and we here in Monterey ( 272 miles South of Paradise) get smoke from the fire. Seems like there is a peaking of bad and exhausting kharma in the country right now. So many crises, conflicts, killings, fear threats, political and economic divisions.
  2. Thank you Josh. We're sleeping on air mattresses and changing everything around as well as our schedules and routines. Privacy is a challenge in our small rental house. Thank goodness we love dogs though and these are sweet and gentle. It's a little harder for us in our late sixties now though...but no complaints. Our fire victim relatives are going through something we can't even imagine. This forum will be a nice escape distraction for me during this time. Will be on the lookout for this new book.
  3. My wife's sister and niece barely got out of the Paradise fire alive and will be staying with us until they can go back. They do not know if their home was damaged or destroyed. They had to leave the afternoon of the fire. Left two cars and everything else. Got themselves and their 4 pets out though. Paradise California was leveled in less than 24 hours after the fire first started. With that aside, can you give us a one line log line as to the general plot gist of the new book?
  4. I keep thinking about Veciana's promise to "Maurice Bishop" not to reveal his true identity even until his own death as stated in Sullivan's interview of him. I am trying to understand the loyalty logic of keeping a promise like this until both parties involved are dead. This type of mutual death secrecy vow is quite extreme but makes sense in certain situations imo. Let's say that a beloved spouse, or child or other relative or even great friend revealed a deeply personal secret to another mutually beloved other before they died. Perhaps a secret that would shame and or harm surviving loved ones the dying person was trying to protect from such? Beyond the expected loving bonds of family that would justify and validate keeping such secrets until the surviving secret holding person died themselves, what other non-family bond could be so strong to honor such a vow? I could see a soldier who is the last person to speak to a fellow soldier who is dying in combat making and keeping a vow like this. Or perhaps someone who the secret sharing person did something incredibly remarkable for, like personally "physically" saving them or their child or other loved one from drowning or some other life and death harm situation. But what could have "Maurice Bishop" have personally done for Veciana that would be so powerfully giving and/or redeeming to inspire such an extreme "till death" loyalty vow? Veciana indicates he had no great love or devotion to the CIA. He was willing to accept their offer of help when they first contacted him but only if he was not hired by them. He said they didn't trust his Alpha 66 group. Veciana's extreme "till his own death" loyalty vow to Bishop makes sense only on a personal level, or a death fearing one. Veciana actually said something in this interview like "what does it matter" now that so much time has passed regards revealing Maurice Bishop's true identity. That it wouldn't change things? Mind blowing. Bishop's true identity would potentially fit so many super important pieces of the JFK truth puzzle together. And regards 11,22,1963 what is more important than the truth about that event? Mr Veciana...please...before you die...give us the "full" truth of who Bishop really was and why you believe JFK'S murder was a conspiracy?
  5. The Veciana interview is fascinating. When asked why he won't reveal the identity of Maurice Bishop he says he made a promise to Maurice Bishop not to reveal this information. Even after Bishop has been dead for years? Preposterous. Common life experience logic more strongly suggests there must be another reason for him keeping this promise. Veciana turns totally away from the interviewer when asked about this promise. The only time in the interview he is shown doing this. In my opinion this more animated body language reveals an uncomfortable evasiveness on Veciana's part. Veciana is still holding back much vital information. My guess is that Veciana has always been under death threats, even after Bishop has passed, and that may include his family as well. If so, and Veciana feels that this threat could still be implemented, then it suggest that those who would make such threats are still in control ... in Veciana's mind anyway. Veciana does say cryptically that maybe "after he dies" he will reveal Bishop's true identity. A confession to be released after death? At the end point of the interview Veciana states clearly and firmly that there was a conspiracy to kill JFK. That leads you to assume he knows who was involved more than not knowing this. Veciana and what he shares about the entire Cuban/CIA/JFK affair just adds more weight to the consideration of a conspiracy to kill JFK, especially the more his story and the details in this check out ( as much as they can be ) as true.
  6. The fellow at the far left position in that photo looks the most like David Ferrie imo.
  7. Do you write about our own Doug Caddy in your book? Do you comment on latter day dirty trickster Roger Stone who perversely brags about his sinister unethical doings as if they are some type of acceptable political art form? Could you put names to the fellows in the photo? Of course we recognize Frank Sturgis ( birth name Frank Fiorini. ) Is it just a photo angle anomaly or are the hands of the fellow on the far left in that photo freakishly huge? Good luck with your book. Your positive reviewers are impressive.
  8. Curious about Robert Oswald. Didn't he say after meeting Lee in jail that he didn't know that person? And how can anyone put much weight on Robert's conclusions about Lee doing this act and doing it all by himself when it's known that Robert wasn't informed about his brother's life and activities in detail for many years? They weren't close. They were 5 years apart in age and had little in common socially, intellectually, politically and philosophically. In all the years Oswald was away in the military and in Russia and during Lee's time in New Orleans were he and Robert regular pen pals? When a true investigation revealed all of Oswald's activities from military service, his time in Russia and his political activity in New Orleans in detail, how knowledgeable was Robert regards any of this specific information except after the assassination? Robert Oswald saying his brother Lee did the deed is one thing ... but to say that his brother did this "all by himself" is another. How would Robert Oswald know that Oswald did or did not act alone? He was as uniformed about Lee's activities and contacts and a thousand other research facts and official testimony which might prove or disprove this theory as any non-research educated person on the street except that he did personally see and interact with his brother a few times socially after he came back from Russia. Did Robert give any solid research or personal interaction facts to back up his proclamation of his brother's all alone guilt? His opinion seemed to be based almost entirely on his personal sibling time with Lee ( with enormous time separation gaps ) and his emotional gut feelings as much as any research reading he did after his brother was killed. Robert Oswald is simply a poor witness to cite regards Oswald's actions, motivations and guilt in the JFK event. Heck, Lee Oswald's mother communicated much more often with Lee than Robert, even when Lee was in the military and went to Russia and when he came back with Marina she lived with them both. Her conclusion was that her son Lee was not only not guilty, but that he was in some way working for the CIA! Close family members are often "the worst" witnesses to expect qualified answers from in murder cases.
  9. Just viewed the Joseph McBride interview on "OurHiddenHistory.com" Must read. Fills in so many blanks regards Tippet and racism and corruption in Dallas in 1963.
  10. Just finished reading part 1 Jim. As always so much to absorb and reflect on. My knowledge of this part of our history has been instantaneously greatly enhanced. Incredibly, much of the racial battle history you discuss is "still" one of the biggest dynamics in our current day national policy war. Almost 200 years after it began! Even now in 2018, Trump sends signals he is more with the Jim Crow crowd than the rest of America which is not of this mind-set. Take your pick as to why. When Judge Roy Moore was defeated in the 2017 Alabama Senate race, this may have been a predictive event in that it was possibly revealing a change in the demographics of some of the Southern states from clear white majorities to less so. But even if this demographic dynamic may or may not be true, it still took the most society outrage sentiment against child predators to swing that Alabama Senator race to a minuscule 10,000 vote defeat of Moore. I always sense that there are two most basic personal feeling agendas that drive people to vote for certain candidates all across the country that Trump all others. Race...and money. Race for the huge majority of voters who are not in the top 5% of our economic society class structure...and money for those 5%. The trick for the small 5% minority but hugely disproportionately wealthy class to further their agenda is to work up all the others in the lower classes by playing the race card and sending them clear signals they are with them. Bush Jr.refused to attend an NAACP meeting in 2004. CNN.com - President clashes with civil rights group - Jul 12, 2004 www.cnn.com/2004/US/07/12/Bush.NAACP/index.html Jul 13, 2004 - Leaders of the NAACP say they're furious with President Bush for refusing to address their convention this past weekend. ... George W. Bush. Trump tells the nation and the world "There are good people on both sides" after a young women was killed by white supremacists at a North Carolina Confederate statue protest demonstration. These types of racist favoring actions or words by Republicans are clear in their purpose of catering and pandering to this part of our society for their votes. A tried and true way to get the dumb, poor racial hatred folk to vote for the super wealthy and their true and most important agenda - increasing their wealth! Same way wealthy Southerners worked up poor young white folks to do their fighting for them in the Civil War. So much more to say about your essay. It takes time to assimilate all your information though.
  11. Sadly true. I met Terry a few times when he came to the hotel. We chatted and discovered we each had a son who attended the same private high school. Like his mother, he was a very warm, friendly and down to Earth person. Not pretentious at all. Terry would chat warmly with other guests in the lounge as well. After Terry passed, the new restaurant built with the remodel was named " Terry's Lounge." I have wondered what Doris Day thought of JFK. And what JFK thought of Doris Day. I am guessing that Doris Day was generally apolitical although she might have personally been a quite liberal minded person. I wouldn't know from any direct personal knowledge however. Day is 96 now. Lives locally. Every birthday hundreds if not thousands of her fans ( many from other countries ) flock here and attend many planned events celebrating this. Rented tour buses and local auditoriums, Doris Day films shown, her music played everywhere ... This entire area becomes a Disney like "Doris Day Land."
  12. I am sure you are right Ron. About this being a Marty Melcher deal. Not something Doris Day would ever do on her own. Like I said, Melcher cleaned her out.
  13. J. McBride, I always looked at Leavelle as someone much more JFK hating than he ever let on. Those statements he made about his true feelings of low concern and empathy for JFK's murder and full investigative justice are so clear in expressing this. And it also seems obvious ( I've never heard him ever express this in his many interviews) he felt not one ounce of sympathy for Oswald or even any guilt about his own failure in protecting him. Oswald was paraded "almost in front" of his two side handlers coming down that walkway to the press crowd. Ruby couldn't have had a clearer shot if Oswald was literally walking by himself. The whole Oswald murder in the DPD basement stinks. That event created more conspiracy suspicion with millions of Americans than any other including JFK's actual murder which no one saw on film until many years later.
  14. Thank you Steve. Ms. Doris Day was for sure an innocent celebrity who would have no idea that a venture like this would be a creation of organized crime sleaze balls. Ms Day was an innocently trusting person despite her huge celebrity and often devilish others spot this trait from a mile off. Even her own husband Marty Melcher cleaned her out financially during her marriage to him. Coincidentally I worked full time at Ms Day's California Coast hotel ( she was and still is part owner ) in the early 2,000s. I was a peon position employee. Hardly ever saw her up close except to say "good morning" when I took her hotel mail to her when she would be driven by her assistant to the front entrance of the hotel, whereupon she would say "thank you" and then zoom off. Her assistant once told me she liked to go to our local Costco where she could taste their free food samples offered there. She was always dressed down when I saw her. Baseball cap and sunglasses. No make up. I am sure this helped her to not be recognized so easily and then mobbed by adoring fans. She is/was one of the most down-to-Earth, unpretentious "non" celebrity acting celebrities you could ever know.
  15. When one honestly considers how many hugely corrupted power groups and individuals JFK was up against and a serious threat to, it brings to mind the mythical story of Hercules battle against the Hydra. Only in JFK's case, tragically, the Hydra won. And the defeat of JFK's Lolaus ( brother RFK ) by this evil beast as well. Hydra Gustave Moreau's 19th-century depiction of the Hydra, influenced by the Beast from the Book of Revelation Parents Typhon and Echidna Mythology Greek mythology Other name(s) Lernaean Hydra Country Greece The Lernaean Hydra or Hydra of Lerna (Greek: Λερναῖα Ὕδρα, Lernaîa Hýdra), more often known simply as the Hydra, was a serpentine water monster in Greek and Roman mythology. Its lair was the lake of Lerna in the Argolid, which was also the site of the myth of the Danaïdes. Lerna was reputed to be an entrance to the Underworld,[1] and archaeology has established it as a sacred site older than Mycenaean Argos. In the canonical Hydra myth, the monster is killed by Heracles (Hercules) as the second of his Twelve Labors.[2] According to Hesiod, the Hydra was the offspring of Typhon and Echidna.[3] It had poisonous breath and blood so virulent that even its scent was deadly.[4] The hydra possessed many heads, the exact number of which varies according to the source. Later versions of the Hydra story add a regeneration feature to the monster: for every head chopped off, the Hydra would regrow two heads.[5] Heracles required the assistance of his cousin Iolaus to cut off all of the monster's heads and burn the neck using sword and fire.[6]
  16. Where was the Cabana located. Who were the principal owners?
  17. LBJ needs a question mark? The man was absolutely consumed with jealousy, animosity and career ruination fear regards JFK. And as E.Howard Hunt said in his end of life confession... "LBJ had a maniacal urge" to become President and he viewed JFK as an obstacle to that end. LBJ is heard telling J.Edgar Hoover we're " like brothers" in a taped one-on-one telephone call right after JFK's murder. They were that close. They were close neighbors and they both benefited by JFK's death. JFK's death saved both of their careers.
  18. I'm half way through the interview of Walt Brown. I recommend every forum member listen to this. And so far, I have busted out laughing 3 times. Brown's story about Vincent Bugliosi's book "Reclaiming History", his recollection of a book sales clerk finding a ridiculous way to keep him from buying the Warren Commission Report and his meet up with Oliver Stone at a speaking engagement in Pittsburgh are hilarious. Will finish listening to the interview a little later. Great interview.
  19. Doesn't the Z Film show when the second shot was taken, as JFK was hit a fraction of a second after?
  20. Oh good. Your input here is always interesting and invaluable.
  21. Just watched the Carolyn Walther interview again for what...the 50th time? To me she presents one of the most sincere demeanor interviews - quiet, calm, somber. She seems so salt-of-the-earth honest. Maybe she got one or two things wrong ( the wrong floor? ) but her description of the kneeling rifle holder fits others ( white shirt ) and it seems so illogical that she would create a story with another man next to the kneeling man and even describe his clothing and color of this. And then add on this other standing man holding another gun which she described in a fair amount of detail. If she accurately described the scene with two men, both with rifles, perhaps that other standing man was holding his gun on the kneeling one to make sure he ( the kneeling man) would not "chicken out" and instead carry out his orders to shoot his gun at the motorcade? That wouldn't be a totally illogical scenario. I don't think Carr ever knew what Carolyn Walthers had told the FBI one month before they took his affidavit. Both stated they saw a man with a suit coat on. One described it's color as "Tan". The other "Brown."
  22. Walther's statement to the FBI was taken in early December, 1963. Carr's statements ( 2 ) were taken in January and February 1964. Walther's described a "Brown Suit" man. Carr said "Tan."
  23. Did Carr know of Carolyn Walthers "brown suit man" statements before he gave this description himself?
  24. Jim, why do you think Marchetti had regrets about doing what he did..as related in that quote at the end of the article? Do you think in the end, he felt his sacrifice wasn't worth what we all gained from it...regards the truth? To me it's very sad that he felt keeping to his moral principles under immoral pressure and power wasn't worth it in the end.
  25. For sure. He could remember specific things and then say he couldn't recall specific things regards his activities during the same time periods. Very selective recall.
